14101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USD to Bitcoin to Altcoin and back: investment risks? on: September 14, 2017, 01:06:09 AM
I think it is a long journey and you are wasting the fee also if you are doing this much better if you have a debit or credit card better to trade in cex.io use your debit card and buy bitcoin there and trade some altcoin there and you can also sell altcoin into fiat that you can withdraw it using your debit card this i think much less fee and time consuming..
If you are buy in coinbase and transfer your bitcoin other exchange site just to trade altcoin and withdraw its time consuming honestly..
You will probably end up paying more if you buy with a credit card. You don't have to pay any fee when you Bitcoin buy with GDAX, while most credit card exchanges will charge you something close to 5% (or even more) per transaction.

I would say that the method described by OP is the most profitable one. Price flutuations may be irrelevant if he is increasing his Bitcoin holdings by trading his altcoins.
14102  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: September 14, 2017, 12:57:06 AM
Honestly, I would introduce a flat fee instead of using donations.

The truth is that a lot of your users will only use your services instead of the other competitors to avoid paying their 1% to 3% fee. And this isn't as good as it should be. There will be more users, but this won't increase your profit ratio, since they are not paying for the mixing service. Instead, your chip pool will run out faster and you will need to spend more with the Bitcoin transaction fees to produce more chips.

Now if only the busted member and his "friends" or "alt" accounts could stop coming up with excuses and PM-ing me to remove my rating, that would be great. Roll Eyes
Now the same guy is trying to buy "posivite trust" for 1000 DOGE ($1) because he was the victim of an "attack"; lol

14104  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: September 13, 2017, 08:32:58 PM
What is the best alternative to bitmixer.io?
Have you checked ChipMixer already? *mandatory "i may be biased because of my signature" but I truly like the way they work*

Quote
What makes ChipMixer special?

ChipMixer creates Bitcoin addresses (chips) and funds them with specific sizes. There are chips with 0.001 BTC, 0.002 BTC, 0.004 BTC and so on till 4.096 BTC. When you deposit your Bitcoins, you receive same amount in chips. For example you deposit 0.112 BTC and you receive 0.064 + 0.032 + 0.016. Each chip was funded before your deposit, so there is no link between them and your deposit on blockchain. They are already anonymous. With each chip, you receive its private key, so you can spend them any time you want.
ANN thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935098.0

Has anyone found any possible law enforcement connection with the closing of bitmixer?
I dont think so.
14105  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are you still using Bittrex? Do you identify yourself to be able to withdraw? on: September 13, 2017, 05:56:41 PM
I always recommended Bittrex for everyone that was looking for an exchange. Recently, I lost access to an old account that was created with my old email (that I can't access anymore), therefore I created a new account and deposited a small amount of altcoins worth something close to ~$50 to trade it to BTC and withdraw.

I tried to do the basic verification and they asked for my phone, which I tried to use to verify and be able to withdraw my ~$50 of BTC. The problem is that I used the same phone as my old account by mistake. Now, they want me to do a fully verification and a fullfill a bunch of requests to be able to use my new account - which IMO is not worth the time for just $50.

Instead, I tried to send them an email explaining the situation and they never cared enought to answer me.
14106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USD to Bitcoin to Altcoin and back: investment risks? on: September 13, 2017, 05:09:25 PM
-snip-
Yes. That's the fastest way with most coins that don't have a USD pair at the exchange. Unfortunally, flutuations may happen. Especially if the exchange you are using (Bittrex) takes some time to proccess your deposit/withdraw.
14107  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: September 13, 2017, 05:01:40 PM
Please read the later post why I said 'Faster confirmation' using mycelium wallet. We're talking about transaction fee amount here and all you said is right but I'm more convinced that having large fee has the large chance to confirmed first.

Since mycelium fee is much higher than electrum, having such 130 sat/byte as lowest fee IIRC (before the recent update) than electrum having 90sat/byte as the lowest fee or even lower base on number as mentioned of tryninja since I never used that number of fee with electrum...
At the end of the day you are the one choosing how much in fees you want to pay.

It doesn't matter which wallet you are using. Both will provide you with the same confirmation time since both wallets let you send a transaction with the same fee. You can't say that X wallet is "faster" because they charge higher fees. That's just dumb.
14108  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: question about bctalk account pricer on: September 13, 2017, 02:00:33 AM
Potential activity is all the activity that you have accumulated from your previous periods of 14 days.

E.g: I posted once today and got +1 activity, while my potential activity increased +13. This means that I can post +13 times to fullfill my activity limit. If I post only once and in the next period I post again, my potential activity will be increased another +13, totalizing 26 of potential activity. If you post 26 times, your activity will increase until that number goes to 0.

If your "Weeks to Next Potential Rank" is equal to 7, this means that you will take ~7 weeks and 49 activity (14 posts/activity per 2 week period) to achieve the necessary activity to rank up.

Not sure if you will understand what I mean. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
14109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who own this(14rWfpfe5p4aBP2CKQbP48oicfB5En3Mam) BTC address on: September 13, 2017, 01:51:30 AM
how did you find that?  Shocked Huh

I found it was come through http://rainpool.io
Google it and go to the last page of the search. It will show that the address has been posted somewhere in this archive[1] of the faucet.

You can't really just ask who owns this address. I could create an address right now, go to your faucet and use it there. You would never be able to link the address to me.

The address also only received one transaction of $0.6; Not sure why you are so worried about this guy.

14110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: China ban on: September 13, 2017, 01:09:11 AM
Btw, even if those news are true and China is taking actions, they will only regulate exchanges and not ban Bitcoin.

Even Charlie Lee - who spread today's rumor - said that China has nothing against Bitcoin in his twitter.

14111  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE OF BETCOIN.AG on: September 13, 2017, 12:10:59 AM
obvs your a moron and must be a affiliate or site player to be defending such a scam site. You are showing your true colors.
He is right tho. You can't really talk shit about a website without any proof - even if the website is already known as shady. Especially if you are still a newbie.

How about you follow the Scam Report format? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0
14112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price Goes down after a tweet by Charlie Lee on: September 12, 2017, 09:21:03 PM
I think he is right by doing that. No matter what he does, people shit on him.

If he had kept the news, people would blame him that he was not sharing it. When he decides to share it, this happens.
He said that the China ban is still just a rumor, yet, he posts something like that without knowing if it's true or not.

"Because it's still a rumor. Nothing official yet."
https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/907678870962290689

He also said afterwards that he didn't knew that he could crash the market with his "rumors", as if he did not know how influential he is to the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies.

He shouldn't post something like "China will ban Bitcoin", and then afterwards correct to "China will ban all Bitcoin exchanges" if he is not sure about that. People trust him, and they will believe on his words.

I doubt, that the reason was just his tweet. But nvm. Who is Charlie Lee btw?
What else could have crashed the market?
14113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how do I create SegWit address? on: September 12, 2017, 07:39:07 PM
I would rather wait for more user-friendly implementation for Segwith on the already known wallets in the market. You can already do it with Core but it's not that user-friendly and there is no GUI for now.

If you are looking for a wallet that already has support for Segwit, Green Bits for Android generates Segwit addresses by default[1].

14114  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Wallet seed lost on: September 12, 2017, 06:23:54 PM
I don't think so. If you don't have your password or 2FA anymore, you would need your seed to restore your wallet without a password and be able to spend your coins. Having the 2FA won't help you with anything.
14115  Economy / Services / Re: Need Escrow Serivce provider from forum on regular basis on: September 12, 2017, 06:10:54 PM
I assume that this is the outdated list you are talking about is? Because there is a newer list that is constantly updated (last update was last month) and features some still active and trusted users.

Here it is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0
14116  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Shake -- bitcoin debit card with 0fx fees, less fraud, and mobile tap & pay on: September 12, 2017, 05:42:38 PM
Sorry to bump again, but are there any new developments on this project? How is it better than TenX or Monaco? I'm currently in the process of selecting a Bitcoin card - so convince me  Grin
P.s: Shakepay cards are issued by Wavecrest, which means that you won't be able to have a card anymore if you don't live in the Europe. TenX is using a different issuer, and they said in a recent video that they will be able to provide cards for countries outside the Europe.

I have a VCC with Shakepay and already emptied all my balance because of that.

14117  Other / Meta / Re: Search functionality disabled? on: September 11, 2017, 10:49:31 PM
It's disabled for now because it was causing the "Database error" issue for some users. Also, there is already a thread for this[1], please use the search function next time (jk);

Edit: Search is enabled again.

14118  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: pissing sites on: September 11, 2017, 10:18:50 PM
You may want to install the EtherAddressLookup extension for Chrome[1]. It has a blacklist and whitelist with multiple legit and phising websites. The list is updated constantly which will probably end up giving you an extra security edge when accessing websites that are often the target of hackers.

It's legit as you can even see the official MyEtherWallet twitter talking about them on this tweet[2].

They are also open source. GitHub repository: https://github.com/409H/EtherAddressLookup

14119  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Withdrawal Issue on: September 11, 2017, 10:02:08 PM
If I read those rules literally, the OP didn't make a mistake. He had 2 accounts, which is allowed, since more then 2 accounts is stricktly forbidden, and will lead to accounts being blocked.
So OP does have a valid point.

However, I am very sure that Bitsler does have good reasons to do this, so we should wait for their answer.
Ops... Looks like I misread that sentence. Still, I don't think Bitsler would scam anyone.

I also saw some folks saying that they didn't found the Bitsler thread. Those are the options in the forum to contact the Bitsler staff and ask for support.

14120  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Withdrawal Issue on: September 11, 2017, 09:36:03 PM
So, why did you have two accounts? You know that having multiple accounts is against the Bitsler TERMS AND CONDITIONS found at the bottom of the website and may result in both accounts banned, right?

"14.2 ATTENTION: Having more than 2 accounts is strictly forbidden(by person/IP/house/family). If you are found to be in violation of this rule all of your accounts will be blocked and any funds in them will be forfeited."
