1322  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit Classic in Linux on: November 08, 2016, 08:18:48 PM
Lately I have upgraded my PC and the former I had , I still have it but will format it soon with Windows as I will gift it to a friend of mine. I have a Multibit Classic there with a lot of wallets some of them even  containing really little bitcoin on them(not that important to me) but I want to know how can I copy my Multibit Classic in a USB and use on my new computer if there is a way.

On my new PC I will install Multibit HD but if there's a way why not have both classic and HD.

...because Multibit HD is a significant improvement over Multitbit Classic.

#1 Its HD so you only need a single backup
#2 Its still developed so you still get improvements
#3 Its significantly harder to crack with brute force
#4 it supports hardware wallets

However if you want to use both you can. The file locations can be found here[1] and here[2].

1323  Other / Meta / Re: [Help] How to locate all posts of a certain user in a single thread? on: November 08, 2016, 07:20:52 PM
I don't know if this is possible so bear with my ignorance.

Just want to know if there's a way I can find all post of a specific user in a single thread? Just want to do something since there's something I want to know. Kinda difficult and hassle to do it manually since there are already lots of post after a certain post I want to checked.

Thanks.

Will lock this thread once I get the answer.

Quick and dirty:

#1 Open print view of the thread (top right corner)
#2 ctrl + f for the username

danke Smiley

also dann am besten mal wieder später reinschauen?

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/1e9e787d1319d3302cfc0ea90992b54e19978e958f902e430cf924be7c30c786

1326  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't send bitcoin in Electrum but it does take out the transaction fees on: November 08, 2016, 06:15:55 AM
This is my first time using Electrum.  When I send bitcoin it all works.  I get the confirmations, and it takes the transaction fees, but it doesn't send the bitcoin.  Any help would be appreciated.

What makes you think that?
1327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: November 08, 2016, 06:05:19 AM
How many minutes, or messages I need to send or spend here in order to increasy my level from newbie to member? is there a list or reference for this at some place here?

No messages, its about posts and time. Everything over one post in time will not increase your activity and thus not your rank.

1328  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is mSIGNA any good? on: November 07, 2016, 06:30:31 PM
Have anyone heard anything from mSIGNA? It havent been updated in months and I been debating on if I should just ignore that wallet or should give it a try. I been using armory and since 0.95 release I decided to keep using it as my primary wallet but mSIGNA caught my eye because of how I can connect to a bitcoin node (which is somewhat a good thing for me to run a bitcoind on a local machine).

I tried it a long time ago and I didnt like it. It felt overly complicated, but its very powerful. On the other hand basic features like signing a message are not possible.
1329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using Bitcoin Core wallet to sign tx offline on: November 07, 2016, 02:12:41 PM
Thanks! Now I remember I saw this command mentioned around, just didn't connect the dots.
It led me thinking of another question: If I want to generate a new change address, can that address be imported to a wallet running in pruned mode? (Or do I need to sync from scratch).
When you are pruned, you cannot import any private keys or addresses.

Okay, thanks a bunch!

Its also defeats the purpose if you move a wallet that was online to an offline system. The idea behind offline wallets is that they have never been online.

Does 46 Mkeys/s sound right for 4 x 280X using oclvanitygen?

Sounds a little slow.  I would think you should see almost double that.
My single 7970 runs @ 25 Mkeys/s and the 280X is essentially the same thing.

Do you use any switches?

I tried using oclvanitygen.exe -D 1:0 -D 1:1 -D 1:2 -D 1:3 1BLazed

 Sorry!  I missed that part.

Code:
C:\Users\xhomerx10\Downloads\vanitygen-0.22-win>oclvanitygen -d 0:0 -k -i 1Blazed

Are you running in safe mode with the -S switch?  That slows me down to 12Mkeys/s

Was using exactly what I Pasted. I am running Win 7 x64. Maybe the 280X are just slow at finding keys?

How is the performance if you only use the primary?
1331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: November 06, 2016, 07:11:13 PM
Well done shorena, ths guide is very good and full of useful information. Do you still own this address 1Le5jXpxvANv3v5Vfx9FY3XZjHjRm8fvzg ? A little donation will arrive in minutes Wink, take it just for your efforts in try to keep/help a good community.

Thats an old quote, didnt know the thread has been around that long. Anyway, instead of telling me how helpful this is. Just post a signed message, thats the only way I can see you learned something.
1332  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked account, DT please tag on: November 06, 2016, 06:48:23 PM

No signed message, no red paint. The account in question changed the password recently though

1333  Other / Meta / Re: My Activity Hasn't Moved In A While on: November 06, 2016, 05:59:27 PM
I stopped using bitcointalk.com for a while maybe 2-3 months and in that time of course since I didn't make any posts my activity didn't change but then since I have come back I also have not gained any activity. I thought that if you were to leave and come back for more than 14 days then you would receive activity after that no matter what.

There are fixed days when the 14 days periods start. If you have not posted in a new period your activity will not change. The next period starts in 2 days.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Uninstalling BitcoinCore; getting too big for my laptop. Can I delete blocks? on: November 06, 2016, 05:08:04 PM
I'm SORRY to post this because I'm sure the answer is already here somewhere, but I can't find a definitive answer so I had to post anew.

The blockchain is far too big for my poor little laptop now and I have uninstalled it. In the past, I tried to move it to my external harddrive but something went wrong. I am not technically minded and so I ended up reinstalling on the C drive, and thank god it worked and started to rebuild the blockchain. However we don't even have superfast internet in my house and I have never been able to get my wallet up to date. I need to use my laptop for uni work and it is so slow now.

Have you considered running it in pruned mode?

Can I delete all the blocks, because they take up so much room?

Yes, but you will no longer be able to use it as a wallet if you just delete the files. Also before you delete anything, make sure you have a backup of your wallet.dat

Am I right in thinking that if I eventually get a new laptop I could reinstall Core, or a different program, move my wallet.dat file over and it will download the blockchain again - even if it takes a long time?

Yes, that should not be a problem.

Sorry to ask questions that have been asked before - I am seriously grateful for everyone's help!
In plain english please!!!  Wink Wink

opalbeetle

Hope it was plain enough. If not, feel free to ask more.
1335  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: What's up with this MyCelium fee? on: November 06, 2016, 03:42:52 PM
Awesome, figured something was off. Thanks for the help, contacting them now. Do they usually do refund or anything? Or basically apology and move along? Not a huge amount so not terribly worried but still sucks.

The fee does not go to them so they cant refund and also doubt they would send any coins your way. If its a bug though, its better when its fixed.

Sorry

No problem, its indeed only two inputs[1]. I suspected more with that fee. Its 1724 satoshi per byte, which is high even for a "priority fee". I did one myself recently and paid 137 satoshi per byte. Its also odd that the one input (the lower one on bc.i) for 7624 satoshi was used at all. Not sure, but does not seem right. I would contact them directly[2] maybe there is a bug that spends unusual large fees when there are small inputs used.

1338  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: bitcoin core 0.13.1 findet die walletdat nicht on: November 06, 2016, 03:08:37 PM
be rescan läuft noch

1339  Other / Meta / Re: Is it Legal to sell antivirus software activation codes/CDKEYs here? on: November 06, 2016, 12:07:54 PM
Hi,
I got some antivirus software activation codes and would like to sell them here but I don't know if it's legal or not since Vod are saying the MSDN key is not legal, just wanna make sure.

Regards
yes , it is legal . but in my opinion you needed to satisfies the condition that you should sell your btc in bitcoin like things .
otherwise you will be slide to the off- topic by the forum moderator .

Translation: You have to sell the keys for bitcoin otherwise your marketplace thread will be removed as off-topic. You can accept other currencies besides bitcoin though.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how ban ip for long time in my node? on: November 06, 2016, 09:17:26 AM
I find a bash script to ban ip list, like this :
Code:
#!/bin/bash
for x in $(cat hardfork.txt)
do
    bitcoin-cli setban $x add
done
Can I get  IP list node of hardfork? please give me the list. I can not write them down one by one from https://bitnodes.21.co  ..
and how I banned nodes hardfork in my peer list for long time or forever?

very thanks for helping ..  Wink

You can add a time in seconds after the "add". There are 31536000 seconds per year, should probably be enough for now.
