1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: December 20, 2023, 09:43:52 PM
Repeatedly, the first win sparks a desire for more. Initial victory? Not a sign of gambling skill, just a fluke.

Strangely, the human mind clings to that first success, distorting reality. Gamblers believe luck is on their side. They fall deeper into gambling because of this illusion. We must detect this trend and realize that gambling is not a profitable strategy.

Society must improve gambling understanding. Its entertainment, not a revenue source. Preventing long-term losses and promoting responsible gaming requires acknowledging this truth and raising understanding of the psychological pitfalls of gambling.
This is ingrained in our minds very deeply so it will be difficult to overcome it, there is a very strong tendency for humans to disregard their failures as just having some bad luck and think of their success as caused by their skill, so even if a person is only being temporarily lucky when gambling instead of thinking about themselves in this way, they will believe they have acquired some sort of skill that is making them win, and even when losses naturally follow they still believe this was the case and they can make that money back.

Somehow the human brain doesn't quit until it wins, and sometimes it happens like this in gambling as well. I'd love to commend your response as it explained a glimpse of how addiction happens to people. In addition, the brain can be controlled provided that the action is voluntary, and gambling is among such categories. Along the line of gambling, the urge to gamble can get to a stage of becoming an involuntary action. Hence the gambler wouldn't be able to change any decision occurring to him about gambling. Winning now seems to him as a development that keeps him strides ahead of other gamblers who don't win. Gamblers in this category fail to recognize their losses as they'll think it's still part of the process. The brain is responsible for this impulse of, "keep doing what you're doing" but the gambler has the right to stop or control it. That's why most times they are required not to chase losses, in search of quick wins.

Gamblers who can't do anything about stopping have gotten to the first few stages of addiction. Hence, he'll only get closer to compulsive gambling which won't allow him time to think straight or help himself out of the addiction. His brain would race whenever it recalls gambling, and he would be restless until he gambles at least a few more hours whenever, wherever the gambling urge calls. When not taken care of, the player won't notice he's gambled countless times a day. Staying out of money can help them stop gambling for a while, yet it won't stop the addiction. Where it gets too tough, is the moment such a gambler begins to wager all his money at once, not minding whether he's bought food or paid other bills. These problems happen to gamblers who have chosen the wrong route of gambling, and will never make a good gambling profession. Gambling can never be a career for the gambler, as he won't succeed.
1322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: December 20, 2023, 09:20:55 PM
People who understand probability will not be addicted to gambling, because they know when to enter and when to end betting.
The only reason I believe why gambling is addictive is because the human brain is taught the phrase "you can win big by gambling".
This makes people compete to risk their money to gamble and hope to win big. The more often he loses, the more his subconscious mind automatically appears to want to play more often to take revenge for his defeat.

This can also be learned with the time as you gain more and more experience as a gambler. For example I have been playing a specific slot right now,no need to name it but in any casino that offers us to see how many persons are playing that slot it is usually over 150 people contemporary playing it.It is a slot that gives you the bonus round very very often if played with the right currency (IDR) and I have seen that when it has no intention to pay out big usually the bonus rounds end in the first stage of it.When I spot such pattern quite some time I call it a day and stop playing because it is like saying to me that "I am not giving you anything therefore do not lose time and go away".With the time and experience someone learns to know the patterns where to stop, this also is somewhat helpful to not start the addiction at all.

Well, I think that women know nothing about mathematics, when you enter a casino to play, dice, roulette or any other game in a casino , you Know very well that Bears can be quite good when it comes to doing something like spreading some mathematics , patterns of even , odd, or something like that have already been Established, but When we are doing this it is something difficult, in my case I have an experience Regarding this , because when I was at the University, I was with a friend, we always went to roulette, because roulette had Certain patterns, sometimes we only discovered them to win, but from one moment to the next things Happened that he learned a pattern and I learned a different pattern, only that sometimes Sometimes we were also confused because the pattern was destroyed when we found the Pattern , things quickly started another pattern, also with the colors, one of the easiest ways to win is with the Colors , we always did Something like that because when we were present, What made us lose was 0 or 00, and in this case it was difficult to define how we could win.

In this order of ideas, we as a person can look for a way to earn more money , but it is Difficult, in fact we discovered that when we played it was Difficult when there were only the two of us in the roulette, it was easier when there were more people in the Roulette, people, now when it was completely full, things were easier because if or if someone at roulette had to win money, and that was when we were most interested, usually we would go at 6 in the afternoon because that was the way we saw it. The big fish arrived, told us what they were betting on the most, that was when we applied our biggest secrets, we already had signals and everything, so sometimes we were confused, we were confused because the music, the drink, the emotion, everything had an Influence.

Understanding probability works well for excellent Mathematicians, but sometimes they'll lose in gambling because the house also uniquely applies those mathematical rules and can be changed once discovered that a gambler is trying to discover the formula used in instructing the slot machine. Games like Dice can easily be known by a mathematician as he'll be able to detect an unfair die. While they have advantages over gambling outcomes, when and what to predict, they still fall for some losses, and when not careful would lose out more money, as they'll rely on their knowledge for probability which may end up failing them. Was once playing a poker game with some elderly men and a young teenager and one man at the table predicted that from the law of probability, he'll win before the next two rounds, and I wasn't there to know if it worked or not. But, somehow he was right, as it had to do with the knowledge of the people around him and the cards issued to him.

Games like roulette are difficult to predict using probabilities, as the numbers are too much to predict where the ball would roll and stop. Hence I prefer the strategy of choosing the color, black or red. It makes the prediction easier, though it has a lesser payout. When looking for a higher payout predicting 1-9 or a few ranges of numbers still works fine. It's better than losing out trying to predict the exact number, which has the most reward. Black roulette is a game that helps the player figure out some technique that could yield him some funds if he's active and observes the way the ball moves. However it takes a longer time to devise a strong strategy that works for the game, but once the game begins to interest a gambler he can make great predictions. A mathematician also has to undergo this process to be able to perform well in roulette games.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: December 20, 2023, 08:57:15 PM

Indeed, some gamblers, after they're done earning big in gambling won't have any reason to gamble anymore. These types of gamblers won't be seen as addicts like Oktana suggested, it's more of a habit and they can easily let go of gambling whenever they wish. However, it could be difficult for some gamblers to stop gambling after winning a significant sum of money through gambling, it's rare to get those who invest in real estate and set up businesses using their winning. Recently the results always show of gamblers who would spend all their winnings back to the house. Even when a gambler does that, it still doesn't sound like addiction if he's in control of all his gambling actions. Yet, if care is not taken the gambler would miss out on his control and then chase after the money he just spent on gambling.

We are not allowed to generalize in any gambling situation, but players do change in attitude and we may not detect who will become addicted to gambling. Whether successful or not. Hence, the question should be who has the most self-control, if a successful gambler doesn't keep up with his discipline he can fail and vice versa. And we shouldn't consider the general opinions of society on issues they know nothing about. Those who lose in gambling are being looked down upon, in society, and some naive players who feel inferior to those ill treatments spend their own money to prove to their friends that they're also winning in gambling. Putting themselves into a more hard condition and suffering. Players who do it for the fun would care less about the hearsay of their close friends. Most times we get those backbites when we lose, not just in gambling. It's a natural reaction, the loser has no parent, and the winner has so many parents. Gambling isn't exempted, provided money is involved.

It's practically true that some gamblers who have won a lot of money may feel compelled to win more due to the overwhelming pleasure and greed they experience, especially if they win an enormous amount of money. Some people who are aware of their limit will also gradually stop gambling since they are already satisfied and only want to recover the money they had lost from gambling. Some gamblers are also dissatisfied with their winnings and have experienced so many losses that they have begun to chase losses, which is what leads to addiction.

Gamblers' lifestyles are also influenced by their mental state, which is beyond our control. True, a lot depends on the people around you. It is common for many people to consider themselves to have a huge impact on your life, regardless of whether you gamble or not. Even if they believe that all you desire is to improve yourself, they will still criticize you for your actions. Up until the point at which you feel driven to convince everyone that you achieved, thinking, "I must prove something." being desperate to prove to everyone that you succeeded. If and only if you choose the right path, since some people tend to suddenly deviate from it.
The same is true with gambling; even if you win, many people will respect you and ask you about your strategies or offer you lots of advice on how to improve your game. On the other hand, if you lose, many people will doubt you and assume that you are an addicted gambler who only plays to win money but still ends up losing. Cry

The mental state of every gambler is crucial in preparing him for a better gambling journey; good or bad. Gamblers who didn't start gambling with the right orientation end up facing rough gambling experiences in the future. As they may not be able to handle their current gambling problem. Hence, they'll feel that every gambler feels the same way. And would continue moving towards the same route, then end up losing out on the self-control battle and causing their mental health to get bad and unstable. Watching closely the life of most addicts, you'd notice that at some point they tend to have a rethink, and in a few minutes they'll go back to gambling. The mental health of the gambler has gotten unstable and may need to be fixed or cured through therapy. When in therapy the healing process still points back to the addict's gambling starting point. Newbies are required to be cautious about gambling the very first day they get into gambling. People think that being careful as a gambler is only for the pros or the players who have been in the niche for a long period. Gambling doesn't recognize any newbie or pro, anybody who pays no attention to his mental health or self-concept may find himself subject to problem gambling.

Lack of control, only destroys the gambling journey of most gamblers, thereby leading them to make mistakes like taking loans, spending all their money, and losing productivity. Successful gamblers stay careful not to be carried away, and most of them tend to obey the few gambling techniques or strategies, and then optimize those methods to fit into their gambling strategy. Whether they win or lose, they remain successful and won't suffer problem gambling. Some who spend out few hours gambling, don't mind stopping immediately after they win money, the game continues until the duration is over. And the gambler will never play again, not minding the recent results, win or lose. Successful gamblers have good mind control over what they see in gambling. That's why most people love them, because, despite being active gamblers they don't get addicted or misbehave in society.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 20, 2023, 07:04:38 PM

Well, I find this very difficult to resolve. We cannot force a person to quit gambling. While we are gambling. If economic conditions are good and both people know how to control themselves in gambling and have a lot of free time. Both could use some time to gamble. If either of the people has an addiction and a difficult economic situation, I think both should quit gambling. We cannot gamble in front of people who are addicted to gambling, and they will not be able to go through rehab.

Let them determine their own path in life, meaning whether they are good or bad at gambling, they are the ones who judge and if a husband and wife enter the world of gambling and they enjoy it and it doesn't even become a burden on their family then what's wrong with them gambling?? And it must always be remembered that husband and wife as gamblers must cover up this behavior as much as possible in front of their children so that their children do not follow in their parents' footsteps.
However, gambling is a bad behavior in life and not everyone can control themselves well when gambling.

If a husband and wife are already gambling, enjoy it together and maintain good control and always be careful in every gambling game they play.

Staying in control of their finance, emotions, and family decisions, once checked, no problem. Gambling is a form of relaxation and problem gambling could be destructive to the growth of a growing family. While the risks of having two gamblers as spouses are high, it can still be redirected to create fun and happiness in the family. Multiple life-fearing conditions can destroy a family; heartbreak and divorce. If spouses have a common activity that glues them in union to love one another, they won't have any problem whatsoever in running a successful family. Provided that they love one another, they won't stop at anything other than keeping the emotions of the kids safe and caring for them financially. Both parties will know the bad effects of discussing gambling moves or strategies around kids, hence they won't do that when the kids are around. They should gamble together in a physical casino rather than an online casino. Online casinos may be boring to them and they can easily wager more money. But, a physical casino presents them with the opportunity of team work.

On the contrary, I support both quoted responses, that say if both spouses don't have the control of staying responsible, they can quit gambling. One person shouldn't stop, it'll only cause trouble in the future. Keeping to their words and forgetting gambling will be difficult, but with determination, they can stop it. As one person can't see the other gambling and wouldn't dare to gamble. When a person has once been addicted to something, he won't be able to control himself whenever he sees somebody engaging in that same act. Moreover, they may have known about their gambling habit before getting married, during courtship. So, trying to stop them when they've gotten married, isn't encouraged, everybody has this control of building a successful home. In a nutshell, before getting married, if they're good gamblers both spouse may have thought about it and concluded on a specific rule to tackle irresponsible gambling to save the home or marriage.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 20, 2023, 06:42:16 PM
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.

(First question was above)
(Second question) Either way, when it's time to stop, how exactly do you do it? (For example) Change other habits, go new places, exercise more, stop drinking, simply "swear off" gambling... How exactly do you stop? Thank you.

Yes this defines my  situation. I have for times lost everything on a gambling site and I once, lost all of my balance rage betting as I lose more and more. Not only the balance on gambling sites but also depositing all of my bank balance.
I was in a relationship at that time and I went to a severe anxiety that I could not do my daily task and my work for days. It was my partner who consolidate and made me promise I'll not gamble again.
The promise was not a legit one from my side but since than I have been able to stop me after emptying balance of some gambling sites on rage bets. It might be controlling your brain or learning from your mistakes but since that day I didn't lost more than I was willing to gamble.

Read through your response, and must say that you escaped a tough problem gambling and your partner is quite a good therapist to you in fighting the addiction. Giving it up entirely would be very hard, but glad you stopped putting all your funds into gambling. It could be risky to many gamblers, and lots of addicted gamblers weren't lucky like yourself, who had somebody to help you out of such a rigorous experience or problem. I've experienced some conditions that affected my productivity, but it wasn't gambling per se, fought it by standing up on a decision to always complete my daily goals. Some days was very difficult to execute my plans, but given a month of practicing the idea of maintaining to promise of finishing a daily goal, I was able to regain a magnitude of fortitude in finishing tasks and being productive. Sometimes it's important to share our problem with somebody with whom we have a close relationship, as they'll easily help us and won't condemn our actions.

Unlucky gambling addicts end up complaining to people who don't care much about them and blame the fact that they're addicts. That's why most people keep the problem to themselves and end up losing everything they've got and facing greater anxiety and depression each day. Gambling problem or addictions grows every day, and when not attended to, the gambler ends up suffering more severe pains, and may not achieve other financial responsibilities. However, as you said, it controls the brain, and the player can't control his actions anymore, I don't seem to understand how this happens, but since I've worn such a shoe, it's unimaginable to be in that condition. Most times I'd notice that my funds were almost gone, but wouldn't be myself if I didn't spend the money on the things I wanted at that particular moment. Nothing dwindles productivity more than problem buying or gambling addiction.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: December 20, 2023, 06:21:08 PM
Greed may be charming. It's thrilling to push boundaries and feel like you're about to win! However, moderation is essential. You stated it - excess is the enemy. Probabilities, not guarantees, are used. Why not play gambling skillfully instead of recklessly? While pushing limits is enjoyable, learning when to pull back distinguishes smart players from irresponsible ones. Satisfaction is an unending pursuit - yes! We're wired to seek the next great win. Gambling's charm is its unlimited 'what ifs' Remember, it's a game, not a certainty. The attraction of bigger rewards? Yes, tempting. Smart players know when to take their riches and leave. Try to play the game, not allow it play you. Gambling thrills, entertains, and offers enormous wins. You should enjoy the ride, not just the goal!
I think all these boils down to emotions. We should learn not to gamble with emotions attached. the what ifs abound when you're poised to win more or to recover your losses, you personally can tell then that you're no longer enjoying the session as tension is terribly building in your nerves. This is a good time to stop and continue another time, I discipline myself to quit anytime I notice that emotions are taking control of me in a gambling session. to be very honest, controlling emotions is better said than practiced and whenever I sense it heighten, I escape before it gets very destructive. Gambling is for fun alone, winning adds more spice to the fun, but we are humans and greed tends to slide into our emotions, Identifying it and keeping to principles or better retreating temporarily helps a whole lot cos there is a saying that "he who fights and runs, lives to fight another day".

Greed is always a negative factor when dealing in this activity. Gambling can bring enjoyment and a type of entertainment that you are aiming at, but once greed starts to dominate, the fun will change with aggression and the intensity of your desire to keep playing, linking that to how OP describes that with the single win things can change.

Your treatment with gambling will be more about repeating that outcome and once you suffer from failure, it will lead you to keep trying to recover and worse things will come along after.

Controlling those impulses is not simple and gamblers tend to find it difficult to call their gambling session a day after winning some funds. The smart players would endeavor to stake a more few games and then stop for the day. But, inexperienced players get caught up with the problem of trying to recover the few funds they've lost in the last two or three rounds, and the fact they are still high on banking they can go on without feeling any fear. They'll think the funds left with them would be enough to take them on a few more rounds and yield them more wins. This then leads to reckless gambling, like Op said in his words, if the player didn't get the first win, he would stop gambling long ago and do something else then gamble another day. Yet since it's part of the house's plan to offer those wins and delay gamblers to gamble more. The idea has been thought all through and they know that only a few set of gamblers can resist the urge or impulse to gamble again after seeing the impressive win.

Greed is a tool the house offers to naive or curious gamblers looking to make quick money, then take control of their emotions and milk their finances for a long time. It takes a fish or a bait to cash a fish. That's the technique of gambling houses, they give out the money as bait. The gambling of doing that is, some would take the bait and go home, while others wouldn't instead, wait for another bait, which may not arrive, and they'll waste additional funds that day. It's the game and no party is to be blamed, but anyone who isn't in control of his actions should take advice and try to implement good precautionary methods to escape the tricks of the gambling house. Otherwise, the gambler would end up repeating the same mistakes often then end up showing remorse or regretting his decisions when the funds have been exhausted
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop the self entitlement claims on others gamblers winnings. on: December 20, 2023, 05:59:23 PM
This is also happening out of gambling, it's something we now see as normal thing in my country, it happens in the family too, imagine everyone shutting you off when you ask for their help? Imagine you needing a vehicle to move some heavy objects and you know someone in the family has a lorry that can get the job done and they deny you?

But when your own time comes, and you get your vehicle and everything, this same set of people will come and start asking you to borrow your vehicle for a while, they have seems to forget all the maltreatment they did with you, one thing I though its just been shameless of them but I was wrong, I found out that they are trying to outsmart you, like indirectly calling you a fool.

I am sure that the people that feel entitled the most are those who will never allow anyone to do the same to them, it is all intentionally, forcing you to take a bow, pretending to be normal, as if it's the way it should be, let their own time comes, they won't do the same.

I feel you! This is usually happens to everyone, you will notice that if you are reaching for help from them but no one will help you and give you an attention because for them, you are just a normal family member and they think you will never progress in life like what they currently have but once you already achieve the life that you've prayed for, you will see that they will be the first one to approach you as if they did nothing to belittle you when you were the one who needed help.
funny but this is true.

These are mostly underdogs in society, people rarely believe they'll skyrocket financially someday, hence treat them like a dead dog and try to low ball them. People love kicking on fallen men, not knowing that someday they'll rise and claim the responsibilities allocated to them in society. When the table turns and the underdog becomes a prominent person in society, the same people who looked down on him would run coming to him for help, not just genuinely asking for help, but feeling in them the entitlement of getting help from the person. At first, the belief within them doesn't diminish immediately as they'll wait for the person to fall financially again, but once they realize he's now made man, they'll come to claim that the said person was their friend, when he had nothing. Many people experience similar reactions outside of gambling even in the family. Take the story of Joseph in the bible, even that of David, and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan.

Most people who were looked down upon, stood up strong and ruled over their peers. Moving forward, in the context of this thread, the gambler in question doesn't owe anybody some explanation for giving out few funds to the punter. That's not his business. He's paid his dues before staking the game and he came out lucky. Though he won the jackpot and was supposed to do more according to those Twitter users, the money he gave, is it not better than nothing? I mean those people are ingrates, they show no appreciation for any form of tip they get from gamblers. They feel like the gambler has some connections with them which mandates him to pay a certain percentage of his earnings in gambling after winning. That's why most people wouldn't book games in the game house anymore, due to such entitlements. They are mainly stingy people, seeking to reap where they didn't sow. No need giving them some attention. They'll always have something to say. They expect him to divide his winning into two parts and give one to the punter. Hmm.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 20, 2023, 05:39:31 PM
I don't really know what kind of gambling there are a lot of addicts today but certainly what I can see now is that everything depends on the perspective and preferences of the addicts and every game must have its own addicts in this case even though there are many and some are only a few but all forms of games in gambling must all have addicts in it.
Currently, maybe for some countries in the absence of land-based casinos, online gambling, especially in slots, has a lot of enthusiasts and that is proven today in the country I live in because most people will definitely be in the slots even though there are some of them in the lottery.

But on the other hand, for those who have a land-based casino and it has been certified by their government, there must be a lot of gambling enthusiasts there because the satisfaction of being online and land-based casinos is different so that surely not a few of them like it and can even be categorized as addicts.

The physical casinos or the land casinos don't have much of addicts, and the limitations are there to make all gambler's actions more senior and moderated than the online casino. A gambler below 18 cannot be allowed to participate in such casinos. Gamblers there may also play with friends and be discouraged not to be playing more than they can afford. Playing slots in the physical casino is also fun, and reduces the rate of addiction compared to online casinos. I noticed that the physical casino despite being filled with all kinds of people, consists of gamblers who tend to help each other, especially in slot games. A player in the next machine may advise another player not to take some predictions. Even though his new friend's advice isn't correct, the discussion helps the gambler to always have a rethink and ask questions before making predictions he's not sure about.

Unlike the online casino, where the gambler online has his gadget as a companion, and won't have anybody to advise him on a specific decision, he'd be playing according to what he feels is right. Thereby risking his chances of controlling himself when wagering too much or spending a long time playing games, exhausted; energetically and financially. While these two types of casinos have their fair share of addicts, it's safe to say that online casinos produce high rates of addicts around society. But some games in the online casino scheme like football or poker can be minimal in getting a gambler addicted like the slot game would, due to the fast outcome of results. And players would want to make quick money. Any game that involves other people like a two or three-man game, doesn't make people addicts. However, anybody can get addicted regardless of the kind of game they play, but to some extent, some criteria like having a second body who advises the player can help in controlling the player's level of making mistakes.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your view on this? Is it fun or addiction? on: December 20, 2023, 05:22:27 PM
Don't think it's addiction to gamble every weekend, after a stressful week. Gamblers are expected to have fun with fellow gamblers and share techniques and ideas that can save them from getting addicted. One risk I perceived from the idea of sharing predictions is, that a few members of the WhatsApp group would depend on those predictions or the prediction of the last winner and stake money on it, trusting it, and hoping they'll win. Hence the player can wager a huge amount that he's not sure of winning. Other than that I'd say it's fun. But the picture Op shared in his thread discloses another risk factor that affects the members of such a group. And more of such memes would be shared often in the group. Members of the group may be responsible gamblers, but the message the memes are passing to the group members is quite dangerous to the brains of the new gamblers in the group. As they may not be able to detect the condition of all the participants of the WhatsApp channel.

I'd suggest that such a group should center on positive discussions able to change the perspective of every gambler in the group not to borrow to gamble and also gamble with their spare cash. Peer pressure in gambling can be disadvantageous if the friends we keep don't follow responsible gambling measures. Taking loans just to win and please our friends will make us less productive in the workplace or school. Young gamblers who start taking loans, how long would they sustain such ill behavior, before they stop? When they can't meet up with paying back the borrowed money, it'll be a bad experience for the gambler. Addiction can also follow transient fun, as the happiness of the gambler will only be short, and when he gets to his normal senses, he'd hate his actions and blame his friends for not being positive in their gambling advice. We may be strong in keeping our disciplines in gambling, but we have to respect the vulnerabilities of others in our clique who may not possess the same self-control qualities as us, and, we must keep responsible gambling as the primary discussion when with follow gamblers.
1330  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: December 20, 2023, 04:56:16 PM
If you see several casinos with the same design it can be a scam. The same time, someone can decide that it would be easier to attract more gamblers using different site clones and it works normally, but i prefer not to risk.
But possible that lots of casinos looks similar because the it would be easier for gambler get the standard interface and don`t spend time studying the new interface or even leave the casino because it is uncomfortable.
I often see sites like that that are clones of the main site, sometimes I think that they stand with one flag and one company but it turns out to be different, but I never touch cloned sites because it looks like they are not creative and don't have the talent to make the appearance of the site which is different from others in building a gambling business so it can be seen that they are not really safe because of course the security of our money is very important if the site is hacked.

Sites that have developed a lot lately show that the gambling business is really very profitable, which is why there are so many new sites that clone other sites to make it easier for other people to play and make deposits, at least get money faster, but most of them actually ignore security. their site, so it doesn't really look serious and it would be better to stay away from sites like that.

Looking at the requirements of setting up an online casino, the website design wouldn't be much of a concern. A legitimate casino has more problems to solve like getting a license, attracting multiple game providers, setting aside whopping amounts of money for paying winners, etc. The site may look cloned, but it's not, because of the back-end programming, that legit casinos would want to prioritize and customize to their taste. Most casinos I've visited have similar GUI or layouts, but that doesn't mean they all clone or copy from each other. I'd say that the interface is what is needed to portray the games they offer, live chats, partners, etc. Working with a different script or theme where the visitor would have to look for the qualities or factors won't convert the visitor easily to gamble on the site. Features are meant to be sampled first to attract the interest of the player to wager or deposit money. Mak013 is right, in his last line of words.

Once a site is registered and has a gambling license hosted offshore or somewhere in the USA, I don't think they should need to fear whether they're genuine or not. The gambler must research and gather information about the casino on review sites. Scam casino sites, to my understanding, do not bother about getting any license, they only get a clone of a famous casino and then do some ads and SEO to lure victims to the website. And this happens because of the fast growth of online casinos, as you said. Hence players are expected to gamble with aged online casinos and endeavor to do their research. Website template similarities have nothing to do with that aspect of recognizing scam casinos. Creating an online casino requires lots of money; millions of dollars. A casino wouldn't spend all that money to scam people and then miss out on the opportunity of staying in the market for a long time. When bathed with negative reviews all over the internet, the casino would fall and lose customers.

Its normal about payment salary in job, some one have skill and experienced will earn much payment salary than beginner with less experienced and first time working on some company. I think not relate when comparison with some worker have skill but many of them keep working in front of computer have higher salary payment than worker on the field with hard working but keep less payment salary. Simple way in job system, you want to earn much payment salary you need push up your skill and automatically become more needed by many companies and get priority with bigger salary payment.

In fact, our job is not relate with how much our responsibility such as delivery workers with potential risk on the road but they payment under some one else working in the front of computer have low risk.

In my response above, you'll notice there are types of power; physical and brain power. The brain power required to work on the computer each day may be higher than the physical power those in the field would use in working each day. I've been a field worker, working outside the company in delivering products, it's quite energy exhausting and we would think that the cashier in the house calculating money doesn't do anything, yet he earns more than the field workers. later I was able to realize that, the cashier faces more risk each day than the field workers. He'd have to correlate the number of products leaving the warehouse and the amount of money we generated for the day. Work responsibility differs, and whatever duty is termed work, requires energy and power to keep up with it each day. Risk is on both sides of the workers, indoor or outdoor. But skills differ, which changes the payment rate for working in different departments.

Critical thinking consumes lots of energy for workers who require it to execute their daily tasks, but the person who is doing delivery would think he's doing the most job and exhausts more energy everyday yet earning quite a little salary. I thought like this, but later realized after doing some internship programs with a famous company, I understood that some people hold the success of the company, and whenever the company is in trouble those people would have sleepless nights trying to resolve the dispute. While the field workers would end work for the day and sleep at home with their loved ones. If there should be a pay raise, everybody deserves it, including the field and computer workers. They are both needed to build a successful company. It depends on the number of people who can execute the task. Delivery jobs seem to have lots of people who can fit into the field, but the tech aspect of the company can only have a few competent eligible to build the company using that aspect.

Life is very simple, friend, don't make it too complicated.
Look at the people around you, they make money in their own way, more simply they will do work depending on the skills they have to make money (other than those you mentioned above). There are many paths to the level of financial freedom according to each individual, as long as you are still able to lift weights such as working at a construction site or developing skills in the field of technology, you can still bring money into your wallet.

Once in a while, come to a tourist spot like a beach, then pay attention to how the people there make money by selling services to visitors. If you are a creative type of person, it is not difficult for you to find ideas for making money by selling services to other people.

Markets revolve around money, anything could be or have a market. I've looked around society, as you said, and was surprised to see the creative ideas people use to make money. Life has never been similar for every occupant of this earth, people must earn money in different ways. Like my friends would say in a discussion every industry has a millionaire in dollars. No matter the type of business man lays his hands upon, he'd be able to hit millions of dollars. Provided that people want the service or product. To generate wealth we must take raw materials and convert them into something people want or need. It all depends on what Op thinks about his society, a lot of services and products are lacking in every environment, so whenever a person begins to offer such services he makes lots of money. Only a few opportunities are rushed by people in society, they can't see the hidden treasures in their society, and that's why most entrepreneurs are not able to earn much money in recent times.

For instance, some countries lack agricultural produce, so it's simple to set up a website and communicate with citizens in food-producing countries to ship food down to your country. People will easily buy the products because they need them for cooking. The internet has made life easier for everybody, and it only takes a little research for a creative person to earn big using the internet. Whatever skill one possesses he can advertise on the internet, though it takes time, and earn tonnes of recurring customers, thereby yielding him some funds. In a condition where the person isn't trained on how to use the internet to make sales, he can still follow your advice on using his ability as a man to help in setting up structures. Those are nice industries that generate lots of money for men. Building of houses must go on every day. Contractors and workers share lots of money every day.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: December 20, 2023, 03:17:18 PM
I’d say that gambling addiction has to do with the inability to do without gambling. So if you gamble all day or night because you can’t just stop then you’re addicted. But then, it is possible for someone to gamble very often but they aren’t addicted (they are trying to make more money but can sincerely stop if they wanted). With this, we can say that it doesn’t mean the time spent (though it can show in the time spent). But society thinks of it as addiction when you’re losing. If you’re always winning, they’ll talk about you and say good things and how you’re able to win so much. But when you’re losing? They’ll say you’re useless and just addicted to gambling. I don’t think this is uncommon.

The purpose why some people gamble is not because they like gambling and risk, it is because they don't have any option left and that is why they just gamble if not I believe no sane person will see a good method of making money with less risk and will want gambling, only a psychopaths' person who is demonic with money love will do that except for person that loves to spend his time and not doing it for the sake of money but the fun and entertainment as primary way to spend good time.

We have gamblers that were successful, made their first hit and they never return again. The money that was made was invested into real estate and they are doing fine today by not addicted or even looking back because as I said the other time, many people are doing gambling because they want money, as soon as the money is around and they have what they want, they don't come back again which is good, the second they have that thought, they might lose everything back into the platform.

Go to school get some certificates then look for a job in the cooperate market or better still a remote job. Everywhere has been saturated by people and even the entrepreneur world is becoming flooded with failed ideas and businessmen. These days people don't understand the right step to take, they get carried away b!
When looking for a means of generating money I think putting all hope on the certificate is not the best, their is need to have a skill to back it up because this days the jobs out there is not sufficient for people out. Let their be an alternative means of generating money than just relying on certificates.

You are right, we need to up our game in any industry including the corporate world. Companies also need help, but they claim that they don't have vacancies for workers because they've not found a competent person to help the company grow. Do you wonder why most companies would hire a person from a different company to come to work for them for a few months and then continue the work in his country? Because experts won't run out of business. For instance, professional salesmen will easily get a new job whenever they stop working for their current company, and they'd be receiving their normal salary rate. Skills a particular company requires may differ according to their niche, but most times they'll need candidates with great interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to join their growing company. I understand you are referring to the need for entrepreneurship skills for people looking to work as their boss.

While people need to learn those skills, they'll also need funds to set up a business to back their level of understanding of the field. It's also good to garner experiences with personal business, hence he can stand out when needs to work for a company. Certificates are just a tool to enter into business with some brands or companies but the skills the person possesses matter just like his experiences. Yes, it's wrong to depend completely on the certificate for jobs, but from my response, you'd notice that OP said he's not interested in trading. The only alternative for him would be joining a corporate business where he'll offer a few skills of his, using his certificate. In a more realistic mode, the job market would soon be sufficient for skilled people who want to work or seek work. Companies are hiring every day all over the world. The internet has made job search easier for any person who has in mind to work with companies.

You're right and those stuff that you're saying is obvious already but I have to say that it's not really a good idea to say that external support is useless even if the person that's addicted or needs help in stopping from gambling doesn't want to help themselves. As much as we want all to emphasize that the right thing to happen is for a person to have the will to stop themselves in gambling, a constant support from their loved ones is a good thing even during those denial periods because that could be a factor in speeding up the process because the person that's being supported would find it in their heart to give them what their family wants and try to do a recovery.

Yes, it's like that, the best motivation is from within yourself. Just like when we first tried to gamble, we must also have the responsibility to try to stop. but of course stopping is sometimes not as easy as starting. I've had a few mistakes before, when people warned me not to play too long when winning, but I always played to the end of winning only to end up losing. From this, I feel that I must take full responsibility, both for playing and for stopping gambling. That's why I say input from other people can be useless if we don't follow it and there is rejection from ourselves

Both parties are needed in curing gambling addiction because an addict can't be able to help himself alone without the help of loved ones, but if the loved ones try to help a gambler and he doesn't want to help himself, the whole effort would be useless. If a person isn't determined to stop gambling no amount of therapist would be able to stop him. Therapy is a kind of relationship between the addict and the therapist, if the relationship is not established then no effort would be achieved. The same applies to his loved ones, as they can also act as his therapist, but if the relationship is not there, the concept of therapy won't be achieved. What relationship is it, the need for the therapist and the addict to discuss like friends, ways to stop his addiction. Healing or curing addiction is not about advising the person. The player has to open up to the next person about the things that made him suffer from addiction and how long he's been suffering from the problem.

So, in a situation where the gambler wants to leave gambling, he may not be able to do it on his own, as he can't help it, the brain is now focused mainly on gambling. And most times he may not be able to recognize his actions or decisions. His only escape route out of addiction would be his loved ones. These people can then initiate therapy sessions and help him endeavor to attend his classes with the therapist. He'll also need them to limit him on certain activities, and introduce him to other demanding tasks like sports or volleyball, even associating him with some helpful organization that'll help him to speak up when in trouble. In your case, Masulum, you were still on the recoverable stage of gambling, that's why you were able to stop gambling. I don't think you were addicted. As addiction is too difficult to heal.

Well, let me first say I appreciate your time to make your opinion known, after all, we are all contributing here. But at times, if it's getting to this point of ours, I think it's wise for either of us to go external to research this to ascertain the truth. You know, at times, if we limit it to our understanding alone, we might never move forward in understanding. When I first saw your reply, truly, I was shocked because you are the only one who refuted what I wrote, others agreed to it. And this can only be for a reason, you might not actually know that it is pointing to, even if it is confusing, and whether you like it or not, if a thing is right, nothing can change that fact. When I was replying to you, I never checked for any external articles until our posts had gone back and forth replies. Thereafter, I resorted to external knowledge, and fortunately, I was sided in this argument. It's not about who is wrong or right now but eventually establishing a fact. However, the truth as the case may be, I believe the links below should shed more light on this. Maybe you don't know the meaning of addiction itself. it's the feelings for anything you like to do often and when missed you don't feel good about it. If you can agree that gambling is addictive even people, at the same time some people will always run to it for either fun or money, and this same gambling can make this person lose (negative aspect). It also makes some people win consistently (positive). How do you now entirely say all addictions are bad (negative)? Is this not plain enough? You might want to make your research far or near, it will not change the fact that there are also positive addictions, and all addictions cannot be negative, it's only the negative part that people often focus on and abuse due to its harmful side. But for positive addiction, since it doesn't affect negatively, people often forget about it while some don't even give it a thought at all.

Frankly, I don't know why you relate this to drugs whatsoever, it further shows you do not understand what we are saying here. Drugs can never be positive to anyone, for what temporary gains which will subside over time and will continue to take hold of the victim and ruin the system and brain of the person unless the supervised ones and the ones they use in medicine? Common! Is gambling like that without any positive stories? Can't gambling earn you money? We are talking about gambling and positive addiction, you had better leave drugs out of it, and all those dangerous things that negate positivity which is the context here.

TL;dr I'd have to ask you one question, did you read the book by William Glassers titled Positive Addiction or did you only search on Google and send a screenshot of the highlights? did you read the same article you sent me the link to in the first place? could you at least read the introduction section of the second link you sent in your response, you'd understand that sometimes when you see a highlight it doesn't justify the article. In the research, the psychologist tried to define positive addiction, which in my terms is a positive habit, as any activity that helps in healing a person who is addicted to gambling, drugs, sex, etc. And whatever activity that affects or makes the brain high can be an addiction, even though it's not a substance. I'm glad at some point in your response, the few parts I read, that you said the link is not related to gambling. How would you link prayer addiction to justifying a positive gambling addiction? And tried to devaluate my valid point of using drug addiction as an example.

I'm not saying you're wrong, neither is the writer of the links you sent. But, I have to tell you that none of the above is correct, it's just personal perspectives from society. In your best interest, not every research you see on Google's first page would you consider right and use in an argument, those are their perspectives and nobody is accurate in literature, including myself. If you don't agree with my perspective I understand pretty well and would take it as your response, it may be valid to you and many other people, but can never be accepted by a lot of reasonable people that some gambling addiction is positive. It's all negative, set aside some time and read the same backup you used in the response and you'll understand better. And if you've not read William Glasser's book titled Positive Addiction, you shouldn't use it in an argument, as you may not have known the context of the work. Don't judge a book by its cover, and I'd add, that you shouldn't judge a book by its title. We only have good habits. Gambling addiction is negative. Using prayer-related terms to justify positive addiction in all other activities of life is worthless. No positive mental disorder, gambling addiction is a mental disorder. Goodluck.

1337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Give respect to your teachers and parents on: December 19, 2023, 03:11:04 PM
Teachers play a vital role in society, but our parents are our best teachers. Anybody can be a teacher, not just the school teachers. Most times children learn from the words of the parents, rather than the teacher. However, the school teacher tends to have more power over the students because the parents hand out the kids to be controlled and taught by the teachers. However teaching is not a simple task, especially when handling kids within the age of 4 - 10 years. The process of making them learn is not simple and the kids can be noisy and difficult to control. The teacher would be sick from time to time. What is important in teaching is the long-lasting rapport between the kids and the teachers. That's why it's crucial to be a great teacher, the kids won't forget about you and also the subject you taught them. It would cement on their memory. Kids are lovely, that's why teachers against all odds still stick to teaching the kids or students.

Those students who don't respect their teachers are from homes where there is domestic violence between parents. The way students behave in school determines how their parents treat them at home. If a child grows up seeing his parents quarrel, he'd be aggressive in school and also be disobedient. Teachers are expected to have a bit of knowledge of emotional intelligence, and not to be offended when a child misbehaves. Teachers shouldn't flog students or fight them in school, it only worsens the problem of that child, emotionally. Since our society depends on the works of these two people, the society needs to groom quality parents and teachers. Parents these days don't know the duty of being a parent, they misuse the responsibility of parenthood. Children grow up with no love and kindness, female children don't get the right grooming from their Father hence they don't know how to treat a man. Most time they find it difficult to stay in a good relationship with a man, because, instead of meeting their dad for advice, they run to their mother to teach them about men.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: December 19, 2023, 02:18:53 PM

Good for you if you still have that control, not many or I can say that most of those gamblers are unaware with ongoing addictions inside, like what you mentioned if you are already in the point borrowing just to continue playing the chance that your engagement is a sign of having the addiction, it's better to play with spare money and spare time and not to keep pushing and forget about your obligation especially to go far and barrow or loan something that you are unsure that you can still repay.
Yes. In contrast to people who are addicted to gambling, they do not realize that if they borrow money just to gamble then they will have new problems later in life. If we have good control then this will not be a problem because we can control ourselves well.
That's right, it's better for us to just play with the money we have, even if it's only a little, and that way we won't be too burdened if defeat befalls us, because we only lose the money we have and not the loan. from other people and besides that we don't need to think about how to return it, so we will play more comfortably and regularly without any burden on our minds.

Taking loans to gamble is not a good gambling practice as most player ends up taking silly actions when the paying back period emerges. If a gambler thinks that his prediction for a game is accurate and doesn't have money to stake in the game, no problem. Other opportunities will arrive for the gambler when he has money. Insisting on betting the game with a loan, will only push the player in trouble if the game ends in a loss. How then will he refund the loan? It would have been better if he waited, maybe he'd win the next game with his money. However, addiction affects many gamblers not to realize what trouble they've gotten into trying to satisfy their taste for online gambling. The right method is doing what Fredomago said, applying a limited time for gambling. It feels bad to know that we would have made lots of money assuming we borrowed to play the game we didn't play due to lack of money.

Risk is important, but such risks in gambling aren't worth the stress, as winning is not guaranteed. Op would feel bad countless times if he didn't control himself and at times he would be tempted to pick a loan as a choice. Which won't allow him to play games with a lesser burden or with a free mind, thereby increasing his chances of losing money. Playing games with a loan doesn't let the player predict well, as he'd wonder about what the outcome of losing the money will be, so, doing it in the place isn't advisable. If there is a way for the gambler to forget about the money he lost for not staking the game it's better than recalling it often time, which could lead him to try gambling at all cost. And he won't enjoy it, but in sports gambling the player may be lucky or at least wager the loaned money bit by bit. Unless he wagers the money at once, his risks of losing out would be low. He'll have extra funds to gamble. Maybe he'll be lucky to win money to repay.
1339  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 19, 2023, 01:19:18 PM
It is better to arrange your own job than to look for a job.  I always think that it is better to start a business on your own than to work under someone. If you can start a business by yourself, then you can employ five more unemployed people there.  Moreover, you said that the job market is very depressed now, it is really right. There are thousands of candidates for a job. This is because of the increase in population. You should do something innovative yourself without relying on anyone.  There are various businesses, which can be started with little capital. And if we get frustrated thinking that we will succeed before taking any risk, then it is not possible to do anything new in life.
I totally agree with you. Because it is best if you can do something by yourself. If you can do small business by yourself there is no extra hassle like you can manage your business as you like. Whenever you are under someone else.  You won't have any freedom when you work. I don't like it at all. I want to work independently and do something good by managing my own business. So I decided to start a small business from now on and try to grow it slowly.

The difference between the rich and the poor is a decision. Whatever decision a man makes will define where he will be in the future. Becoming rich or poor does not depend on being your boss alone. Employees also get rich if they can manage their earnings. In the race of becoming a boss it relies on the person's skill in money management. Working in a good company can yield more profits for the person than a boss who chooses to run his business. Competence matters in all departments. Some hackers and programmers working for Facebook earn close to 2k dollars per hour. Isn't it quite a huge money for most CEOs around the world running a business? In whatever decision we make it's important to be competent and strive to be the best. With the rate of problems in the world market, inflation and unemployment, and hikes in the prices of products, running a business requires competent people.

That's why most people who think they can't do it perfectly choose to get employed in an already existing company. However starting a business with 5 employees depends on the budget of the employer. Five employees are quite too big unless their services are needed in the business. An entrepreneur can decide to start on his own, and then expand gradually to 2 or 3 employees. Expanding quickly affects the growth of many businesses and has caused lots of successful businesses. Renting big office spaces and relocating brings down companies, as the money used to run a company shouldn't be spent in high numbers. If you want to run a company or business, make sure that the money left after expanding is enough to cover for few extra years' expenses. Mistakes of moving too fast to appear big have led to the delay of employee salaries for some companies. These workers are the pillars of the company if they choose to reduce the productivity of the venture, customers will begin to decline thereby collapsing the company.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 19, 2023, 10:52:49 AM
I probably have some gambling problems, but they are not severe gambling problems. I think they are not badly needing any help from a professional. Little problems like when I say this is my last round but I ended up playing another couple of rounds. Or when I say when I lose this round I won't be betting again, but I ended up betting after a losing round. These are probably my gambling problems. But I am not feeling worried about them. They occur less often.

I've felt similar problems like not keeping up with the initial agreements made with myself. Do you in any way face the same trouble outside of gambling? Because I do, sometimes want to leave a gathering or a place at exactly 5 O'clock and for some reason, I'd stay some minutes extra. However, I tend to notice that, after a few delays there'll be more occurrences that may affect me or be positive to my thinking. In gambling when my instincts warn that I should stop after a specific round of spills, and the urge to stop doesn't feel strong enough to help me quit, after playing for a few more times I'd either win or lose. However it's not a problem, but with the changes, I desire to observe and collaborate it with my daily activities. Gambling helps in giving out ideas that'll fuel great decisions. Hence, from my observation, I discovered that whatever outcome occurs out of the disobedience of such an urge to stop or continue, is always a lesson.

Where the problem begins is delaying too long that it now causes loss of money or appointment. The advantage of this problem in gambling is a win. A delay in decision or choice in gambling could have either effect to a positive or negative result. That's why players who misuse the effect of such a problem by wagering without stopping hoping for the win, end up regretting their action. Another cause of not keeping to our initial promise, for many, is having access to money. The thrill of gambling can sweep a gambler's money till his bank account gets cleaned up. In solving the problem for people who think that it could get severe in the future, and they may not be able to control themselves, the player needs to limit his daily expenses. Even if they try to continue, their bank won't allow them to spend more until the next 24 hours. During the probation period, the gambler can be regaining his self-control gradually. Thereby escape or avoid compulsive gambling.
