Believing every thing

1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins Also faces Congestion? on: November 18, 2023, 06:17:24 PM
Bitcoin been the king in the crypto world is facing a very severed congestion problem and things are not working well with businesspeople that doing business with bitcoin and small-scale businesses that are accepting bitcoin for transaction so in the period there are some altcoins can use the opportunity to skyrocket their coins. And if altcoins do well in this period, then they will make a lot of money as profit because many customers of bitcoin will join the most performing altcoin (s).

Now a question arises again in the mist of the bitcoin network congestion. Since Altcoins are depending on bitcoin on any necessary upward movement, does it mean that altcoins network also congesting to produce high transaction fees? This has been in my mind for sometimes so I decided  to ask it today. Have you heard of it because I have not heard of it. Or the congestion is for all the cryptocurrencies?
Even with the congestion and high fee rate, trust me most businesses person's are still preferring bitcoin, because they've built their business surrounding bitcoin. Though there are few persons that will try to adopt some altcoins but the percentage will not be much, Though I've not heard much about the network congestion with altcoins.
1324  Economy / Economics / Re: What has really been behind china's economy on: November 18, 2023, 05:52:21 PM
The truth is that we really can't believe the economic data that is coming out of China.  China is notorious for falsifying their numbers for just about anything and everything, not to say that most other nations don't do the same to an extent, but being that it's such a tightly ran nation that doesn't allow for much of "outside eyes" looking in, it's very hard for anyone to prove whatever they are reporting as factual or not.  Just looking a a communistic dictatorship governmental set-up standpoint...hard to trust them

That's one of the problems - the insularity of the real data on the Chinese economy. If we, for example, can roughly calculate the volume of foreign trade by secondary data (from importers and exporters of China), the internal "kitchen" is closed from the whole world. For example, there is absolutely no information about the real stock of foreign exchange reserves. Yes, we can, for example, know from the U.S. side how much China buys U.S. government bonds, but... that's ALL, the rest of the information is not verifiable and is not available not only to the outside world but also inside China. Therefore, it is possible that the strength of the Chinese economy is...to put it mildly, far from the public picture.

Even if i try to agree a little bit with your assertion, china has been giving out loans to various countries across the globe, there infrastructural and construction company are all over Africa, and they are doing very well with their productivity. China might try to hide some statistics about the internal infractions about their country, but having a country with over a billion people and they are not in extreme poverty situation, then trust me, china is doing well.
1325  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When you think you have seen it all. on: November 17, 2023, 11:37:30 PM
There is no way you will think about this current economy in Nigeria you will not share tears for Nigeria. I thought I have seen it all for poor economy until I saw this new economy that is coming like what will end many people lifes in the land and, the new officials are not coming with minds of fighting some of the things that caused all those things to happened in the past government. I thought that what we saw in Jonathan economy is a worst economy to the citizens of Nigeria until I seen Buhari economy that turned to fire into the lifes of the citizens, were the price of commodities increase double, and cashless politics was like fuel pumping the hardship that made many youths to start finding their way to other countries to save their lifes, and many  industries stopped working for Buhari regime because of the huge amount of taxes the government officials was generating from the companies that was accommodating some citizens to have something to earn monthly to fend their families, and it caused many companies to fold up and many citizens went with frustration.

I thought, I have seen it all until I begin to see some things that is worst than the previous economy. I used to buy a liter of fuel #180 in Buhari regime but, since we entered this new regime the price of fuel hit #500 that made many things to went wrongs in the Nigeria economy and the worst thing is that the new government is not bring any strategies that will improve the weak economy. This is my question, How will Nigeria economy look like when this new government is approaching her second tenure? Because the way the new government economy look like now show, that we are about to enter disaster that will make other country to take over the country.
What is your opinion my Naija people.
The economy of the country has been nose-diving right from the inception of the previous administration, what we experience in today is a multiplier effect of the miss governance, the miss deeds and the reckless spending of the previous administration, they never thought of the rainy days, all they where interested was about political propaganda and all they can take out from the coffers of the country.
The economy is on live support machine, except and unless this present administration declared a state of emergency on our economy, we might continue to see situations like this.
1326  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Economic challenge shouldn't be limitation to your project on: November 17, 2023, 11:19:42 PM
I know the time which we are right now is a difficult time because of how price of every commodities and services have skyrocketed.  But I know even with this increase of price in everything we can still meet up with our projects and plans, this can easily achieved if we plan well by avoiding some life styles. When the economy was better drinking everyday in clubs was a lifestyle some people lived and still meet up with their personal projects but right now it is not very possible for a salary earner to go out and drink every day to still meet up with important projects.

Right now food commodities are very expensive in the market,  but it is better for one to buy this food stuff in the market and make your food yourself than to go to eateries everyday to buy food. If you calculate the money you spend in eateries to get food for the month it can x3 or x4 of the money you can use in getting food to stuck in your home. Meeting up with project in this hard season one  just needs to be very discipline on how money is been spent and you will still leave happy life.
As a salary earner you should know that the current time, things are difficult and you should live your life according to the way things are so you don't go into financial impediment.
If it is the time for us to go into austerity measure as a means of saving more for survival then you shouldn't hesitate to do so.
Especially with this period that we are going towards Christmas, food and other commodities will actually skyrocket, so is best you live within your means and stop unnecessary spending.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 17, 2023, 09:50:28 PM
~~ Snip ~~

Bayern Munich has plans of signing more players into the squad during January Transfer Window so they can compete with whatever challenges they face until the end of the Bundesliga League Competition.
Bayern Munich having won the league more than a decade now makes it completely boring, it's okay to see that they are unstoppable.
I'm hoping and making wishes that they make the league different and difficult for Bayern Munich. Bayern Leverkusen are my hot favorites for the league right behind Bayern Munich.

Borrussia Dortmund are purely casino gamblers. They bottled the league and failed to do whatever they had to do to make sure they end up winning.
I think Bayern Munich only needs to improve the abilities that exist now, they don't need more players, so far Bayern Munich has a very good team and is fairly solid, only if there is an injury in the main player, sometimes Bayern Munich has difficulty getting the right peng. to be able to play as usual.

I don't think you are just a person who feels bored with the Bundes League because Bayern Munich is a subscription to the winner of the league, but if you pay attention to every match in the Bundes League, the competition is much better, and I also see there is no comparison of the power that is far between Bayern Munich and competitors in the Bundes League. Some squads that have recently increased not only Bayern Leverkusen, but Stuttgart also experienced good improvement since the beginning of the season.
Bayern Munchen dominance in the Bundesliga was often shaken at the start of the season, but in the end they always managed to retain the trophy. Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund are three teams that are predicted to be able to compete with Bayern, but I have more confidence in Xabi to challenge the defending champion directly.

Everyone is saying and feeling the same thing about the Bundesliga bored. We can only hope for a change this season. Dortmund is still stuck in their old ways, always busy recruiting promising young players and then selling them on the transfer market, even though they almost managed to do it last season.

After the international break, we will know whether the teams mentioned above can be consistent. I hope Leverkusen can maintain its performance through the first half of the season. In contrast Union Berlin is the most disappointing club this season, even though they play in the Champions League.

Signing more player during the January transfer window is welcome development for a team like Bayern Munich considering the fact that  in modern football, the stable your squad is the better they can compete in every ramification, besides every good coach would love to bring in new fresh legs into the fold to stir up a healthy competition within the squad. also it helps to block every loopholes in terms of injury worries so the coach can have replacement and rest players for important games when necessary.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 17, 2023, 09:25:28 PM
Tottenham Vs Aston Villa is an interesting match that I would want to view after the international week. I have seen how Emery has improved the Aston Villa team since after his arrival to the club. He has proven that he deserves to be named among the big teams. And one thing I know about him is whenever he is in form and on a winning streak, he tries his best to maintain his winning tendency.

To the other coach, Ange, he has improved the Totenham team since this season and he didn't lose any match except the consecutive 2  losses and which might eventually lead to another loss to Aston Villa

a very interesting game to behold I must say, with traditional English football clubs and a handful of world class and upcoming player to go with and also a two great coaches with wonderful ideology, one can only expect a world class performance from these two teams. Aston villa are in a great form at the moment with striker Watkins posing a big threat in front of the attacking line, and on the other hand Tottenham who have been in great for until they lost to Chelsea and one or two loss, but they still have the chance to bounce back from defeat to winning ways.

                      England Vs Malta

A very poor start for the English side with only an own goal to show for the first 45 minutes of the game and no other clear attempt on goal though they were denied a penalty which the referee claimed was a dive from the skipper Harry kane, the English side keep dominating the Malta side by keeping possession of the ball but without finding the back of the net which only seems as an effort in futility for the English boys despite having players like Rashford, Foden, Saka, Kyle walker and so on yet the English side are yet to find the back of the net for first time in this tie.
1330  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Access bank no fit give their customers access. on: November 17, 2023, 08:41:16 PM
For some days access bank customers no fit get access to their own money,  the name of the bank don become an opposite meaning. This not the first time this our traditional banks are having issues like this. People not having access to their money is a very bad experience which can put people to be in a complete confuse state. Na why I still considered bitcoin as the best, even if their is a delay in the network to transfer bitcoin,  with the use of a accelerator people still have access to their money in Bitcoin.  Access bank no even care about their customers, if they put their customers first they won't let their customers to go through this pain. Bitcoin cares about it users and still created a way people  can have access to it with accelerator.

Our government really need to accept Bitcoin completely so that people can invest in it and in difficult time like this bitcoin can be a solution to the problem.
It can be very frustrating when you want to make some financial activities and you get a setback, especially in urgent situation.
Nowadays I don't even use this our conventional banks for transactions, Opay has been able helpful.
Omo if our government, relax the restrictions on bitcoin e go really help our financial life, because this Banks dey misbehave too much.
1331  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Nigeria a failed project ? on: November 17, 2023, 07:38:35 PM

Good afternoon my country people.

This topic was formed from a lecture discussion where the lecturer asked the question "is Nigeria a failed project?" And it made me wonder, if we had the solutions to our problems why isn't anybody working towards making the country better?

It's no news that the country is getting way worse than it was yesterday, meanwhile people predicted it to be developed not long after it's independence. From the high illiteracy and unemployment rate to the devaluation of our currency, and the continuous corruption in the government sector. When the question was asked, of course, some students agreed that Nigeria is actually a failed project cause of the signs we see everyday. Meanwhile, some said Nigeria isn't a failed project considering the following points:

First of all, projects are of 2 kinds;  the short term projects and the long term projects.

Short term projects are known as "Goals", and the way of solving short term problems or meeting a goal is through "Tactics".

Long term projects are known as " Objectives", and solution is through "Strategies".

They argued that it's possible that the solutions to Nigeria's problems are on the long run and are not solutions that'll bring up results today, but the thing is how long is this long term project going to last ?

Secondly, there's something in projects "Goal/Objectives congruence" . This refers to harmonization of goals. It's very possible that everyone is doing their work and is working towards different goals that aren't bringing forth general good fruits but individual selfish based fruits, and this is the number 1 thing you'd see in Nigeria. Hardly would you find someone who wants to work for the people, and also hardly would you find people who are ready to elect and listen to someone who's ready to help them. People have their head elsewhere. Take for example, elections, the general goal is to elect someone who would lead and help push the country upwards, but some people are focused on just getting into power, others are focused on stealing ballot boxes and making quick cash, and many others. So, in order for things to go smoothly while working on goals, one would have to synchronize the focus of everybody's individual want, harmonizing them in order to get general gains.

Thirdly, there may be visions, projects, objectives etc for the country, but poor strategies and tactics are used in meeting them, making it therefore slow, poor and inefficient. Again, I'd like to add that Nigeria may be working on old rules while alot of other countries are working on and implementing new and innovative ideas for their economic development. Take for example, the fact that many countries have accepted Bitcoin and are using it, while a few have even made it their legal tender, taking them further and further into the future. While in our country, only a few have Investments in Bitcoin, only a little above those few own Bitcoins, while after adding a little more percentage of Nigerians, you would now have the number of people that have heard of it. This is quite backwards.

Some of Nigeria's economic plans that may be seen as failed projects include; The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), The National Economic Empowerment Development Strategy (NEEDS), The Vision 20:2020.

In conclusion, I'm going to be throwing the question to the public. In your opinion is Nigeria and failed project ? And reasons why you picked yes or no.

Thank you.

No, Nigeria is a failed state yet, a failed state is when none state actors, control the the institutions. Our case is more like civilian rule, that is been masqueraded under the illusion of democracy.
Though some people will hold the argument that we are sliding towards a failed state.
The project called Nigeria, can only make headway, when we begin to build strong institutions, as for now we have people that are stronger than our institutions, and That's not healthy for a country that wants to practice democracy.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 17, 2023, 07:06:52 PM
If you walk into a casino with $200 and you start playing with that $200 and you win $200, get the hell out, you simply just doubled your money, take your goddamn leave, what do you think you wanna do? Win a million dollars? You will go home empty handed.

The next thing that rings in your ear is you can still win another or more, that's the devil whipsering, the art of gambling is knowing when to stop.

The only game where you have some power is in Poker, not the online one, this is the best game in casinos, as making profits off of bad players is possible.

As for Other games, You are at the mercy of the house.

No one actually visits the casino to have fun, you gotta trick the mind, I like to think of it has a fun night out and I am going to spend a few hundred dollars and have a good time and if I win it's a bonus, like I've said, you gotta trick the mind.

Always remember this, you are there to win a game where its statistically impossible to win at, it's not impossible to not understand this about gambling, a wise man once said, "if you want to make money with gambling, own a casino".

A gambler that knows what his doing, knows when to stop.  A lot of times, you can actually go to casino with that same $200 and you will end up not winning a dime. So for you to even double your invest by gaining another $200, that's a plus to you. So like you said, the best thing is to leave after a successful win,  don't let the devil trick you to stay a second,You can fight another day.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: November 17, 2023, 04:43:59 PM
My main reason is bitcoin will not give me another chance to make bunch of money. You need lots of fund to make money from bitcoin while you can do that even with small amounts of money through altcoins. These days people were massively seeking profit from investing their money into the altcoins. i think that you shall aware that if the fact that if these days altcoins can give you more than bitcoin. Even if you were not a part of early adopters and you can still make like a few hundreds percents in less than a month which is good.
You have a point, in Bitcoin you need a good amount of investment before you start making good result, it's as well depending on the level of investment you put in, but for Altcoins since there are some that you can get at a very minimum rate, you can get as many as you can, then with the hope that after a while it will add value. so that at the end of the day you can make a good return in your investment.
But a lot of investors will still want to stick with bitcoin, because of its longevity and how it has stood the test of time, it's more like bitcoin is tested and trusted.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin will be massive. on: November 17, 2023, 04:31:15 PM
First of all, not his own coin. Elon musk is definitely a name that can greatly influence the direction of a market but this coin isn’t from him directly so it’s hard to say what will happen next it looks like it has good returns for now what’s ideal right now is if you can get it in a low value and claim it when the value goes up there’s a good indication that it might stay for a long time but don’t get too excited and only invest what you can afford to lose

At least for him to give the go-ahead or the directive for the coin to be used in his name, it then means he has a pre knowledge or supposedly he knows very much about the launch of the coin, so I'm pretty sure he might one way or the other be involved in the financing of the project.
I believe with time, the coin will add value in the market.
Of course for any new investor, it's always advised to start little.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 16, 2023, 09:45:09 PM
In my opinion, Manchester united has not changed this season, in fact they have experienced a slight decline in starting the league this season, and it is not surprising because Manchester United itself has not really changed the team scheme while still retaining its old players, so it is not surprising that their performance has not changed either.
Maybe there will be an increase in team performance, but it will take a long time and many matches ahead for a coach to find a scheme that is suitable for a team with limited players.
If Manchester United wants to make significant changes this season with the player scheme and the way they play this season, the coach and the team as a whole must really care about this. Especially they have to take advantage of the transfer market when it opens again this season and also change the way they play slowly so that there are more significant changes for the team, because what Manchester United needs now is to win in every game that remains this season.

Manchester United made many changes during the last few years and this team was not stable at all and maybe that's why they had poor performance even after the summer when Manchester United hired the players Ten Hag wanted to have in this team.
I think the most important reason for us to see Manchester United's poor performance is because of the changes Ten Hag made during the summer while Manchester United didn't need some of these changes

Well on my own opinion I think Ten hag got the players he required to execute his project unfortunately things didn't work out as planned but I wouldn't say it's as a result of the kind of players he recruited into the squad, but I would rather say it's a thing of inadequate motivation or low morale from the entire squad because these players in question are world class players but I wonder why they always struggle whenever they on the pitch against an opponent whether small or big. But then as a coach the bulk of the blame will be on him, though I'm not still happy with him letting Ronaldo to go, because he was still an asset.

Games that have no goals from the first half to the end of the game is just boring to watch, and this Liechtenstein vs Portugal game is one of those games we expect to see goals coming in from different angles but no it didn't happen.
The first half of the game is quite disappointing to me, because I was expecting to see the visitors (Portugal) dropping like 3-4 goals before heading into half-time but is still goalless.
I hope with the stars that Portugal are having in this fixture it won't end in a draw or 0-2 win, at least Cr7 need to score more goals to increase his goal scoring record.

It's been a very good fight from the Liechtenstein national football team to have been able to prevent the Portuguese side from getting to the back of the net for first 45 minutes of the game, showing a high level of concentration and defensive ability but you need more than that to keep Christiano Ronaldo and his colleagues at bay, because these guys never stop until they burst the net of their opponents, a very enticing pace from the Portuguese midfielder and a masterclass finish from Ronaldo and another juicy goal from jao cancelo is what separates the Portuguese side from their host Liechtenstein tonight.

Overtime i see that whenever there is a dip in the price of bitcoin, other altcoins tends to follow suit by also dropping in their prices and whenever there is an increase in the price of bitcoin, other coin as well increase in their value. Does it mean that other altcoins cannot be dependent on their own? Like must the activities of bitcoin affect the alternate coins at all time? I really want to understand why alternate coins like BNB, ETH, TWT, MATIC,  XRP,  LTC, DOT, ADA, SOL AVAX and so many other alternate cryptocurrencies are always affected whenever there is a change in the price of bitcoin like can't they be dependent on there own? as they are all cryptocurrencies despite the fact that bitcoin is more volatile than the rest of the cryptocurrencies.
Omo you no fit carry bitcoin compare those other coins oh, in terms, durability, trust in yielding profits, and him get publicity and global acceptance pass any coin. Bitcoin dey lead, others dey follow for back.
As I dey now self, I no sure say I don see plenty naija people way get altcoins for their wallet self, if them dey them no too plenty reach bitcoin holders.
1339  Economy / Economics / Re: What has really been behind china's economy on: November 16, 2023, 06:29:40 PM

The other day,  Pawal7777 was talking about recession hitting CANADA, and that's how other countries are having one difficulty here and there economically. So my point is, what economical indices is china adopting to keep their economy afloat?

The strength of the Chinese economy cannot be explained without returning to its historical process since its liberation from Japanese colonialism during World War II. Under Mao's leadership, China adopted many economic models that were inappropriate for the country's specificities. These policies were a blind imitation of the policies of the Soviet Union, and when Brezhnev tried to dissuade them from implementing them, they accused him of revisionism and continued with a policy that relied solely on agriculture and steel production, which led to a famine that killed more than 50 million people. This is only one example of the decline that the Chinese economy suffered from for decades before it realized the best way to build a solid economy based on diversifying resources and encouraging free productivity under planning by the state (the ruling party), which transformed communism from a closed theory into an open policy resembling imperialism. . This is since China is interested in opening new markets, but not in military policies.
You've outlined the historically trajectory of the social political activities that has enveloped overtime in china, however a policy looks like in the theory, if it is not physically manifesting then that theory is just existing in the papers, from what you just outlined, it shows how they've overtime develop policies that are human oriented and that can expand their economic base to what we currently see in this present time.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 16, 2023, 05:34:34 PM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?

As a gambler the most important thing is for you to know your onion, the onion to me which means for you to know the skill that you use in Betting or placing your bet. As a gambler you must have a particular skill on how you predict your ganes, this skill is acquired as a result of overtime practice, over time trial and error, and the corrections you've made over time.
luck is just an additional part of a gambler life, but the most important thing is your your ability or your  skill to predict.
Luck has little to play in the life of a gambler.
