1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with h110 btc+ no boot on: November 06, 2017, 03:46:26 AM
The Asrock pdf for this board mentions those CPU's.. I will post link to the MoBo pdf.

http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/BTC/H110%20Pro%20BTC+.pdf

I wasn't sure if the board would not boot up due to a CPU not being skylake or kabylake?

I was using a 7th gen 1151 I3 7100.. I am lost past that, as I am really new to rig building. I spent weeks reading, wathcihg videos, reading this forum,e tc.. before settling on the equipment. I was very careful in construction.. but was not educated enough to diagnose this.

did the PSU powered on upon hitting power button don't be confused, there are two buttons, the other one is Reset and Power? you can usually notice this if PSU fan is spinning in normal mode, if its not spinning then it can't reach the PSU switch powering entirely your motherboard.
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with h110 btc+ no boot on: November 06, 2017, 01:32:02 AM
Hello all.. any help would be appreciated.. I've tried everything, and am getting nowhere..

I have the mining board H110 BTC+, and have it set up with evga 1300 G2. I have followed the mining set up PDF, and installed the following:

CPU I3 7100
8 gb RAM
PSU evga 1300 G2
5 GTX 1070's on powered risers.

Are all of these hardware acquired as bnew? you have to do isolations one by one. exclude GPU's and risers for the meantime. concentrate on mboard, ram, CPU and powersupply.

Quote
Problem is, the board will not boot. I ran power as directed to Molex pins.. 8 pin board ATX, 24 pin, and board SATA as illustrated in PDF.

I have swapped out CPU's.. I have changed RAM, RAM slots, I have tested PSU.. but when you hit the small power button on the MoBo, you hear a small click from the PSU, and nothing. Only sign that there is power is small yellow light blinking on ethernet cable housing.

There is no sign of a short.. or other issue. The board doesn't so anything... thoughts?

Did you get any CPU fans spinning? if not, check your power or PSU connections, otherwise you have a faulty board.
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power supply issues on: November 06, 2017, 12:48:45 AM
Hmmmm... Same result. I wonder should I just run a paperclip between between the two pins. Not the safest though...

Can you say fire hazard? Sounds like your splitter cable is fooked. Return it and get a new one.

no worries as you do this for testing purpose and isolations, I also usually do this without any issues.

here's the way how to do it.

currently mining ZEC right now. where can i check my balance here in ZEC? im usinf JAXX wallet address. and its showing that they can only monitor public adds

are you using pool? you can check this with them, basically if you haven't reach the minimum payout it will not be credited to your wallet address.
1325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin Can I mine with normal laptop on: November 05, 2017, 02:16:33 PM
Hi guys,
I am newer.
I have a laptop with Nividia card, which coin can I mine with this laptop to receive high profit.
Thank you in advance

Laptop is not design for mining, if you want to fry it, better donate it, if you would are really serious about mining you may get decent GPU's or ASICs.

this is a good read for laptop mining

Hello,

Hi,
I just bought my 4th 580rx and i've been mining with 3 580rx and it works fine.
Once I connect the 4th gpu am not able to get into windows not even windows I get to a black screen with -
and then I get error message -
reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

This error refers to your bootable disk, ensure that your HDD is connected and has a power from your PSU.

Quote
Every GPU is working I've tested them all.
EVGA GQ 1000Watt 80 PLUS Gold is what PSU am using and MOBO i've is MSI Z270-A Pro

i've tried to enable to gen1/2/3, enabled/disabled  4g decoding

the problem is not your GPU, otherwise you will not see those error messages.

Failover pool has been activiated, seems there is a trouble from your fist pool, try to restart miner and use the first config pool, and check your failover pool if properly configured, in claymore it is in your config.
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Beginning Miner on: November 05, 2017, 02:34:47 AM
General consensus from everyone.  I have been doing heavy research on altcoin mining.  Looking to build a rig to start mining Vertcoin.  Looks like its going to cost me about 1400.  Is it worth it?

I personally dont get it, you have already your research on what coin you will mined and come with a costings yet you dont know if its worth it. Anyways, just do the simple math..lot of online mining calculators out there, consider difficulty as it varies from time to time that could affect your profitability

1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BTG mining? on: November 05, 2017, 01:39:14 AM
Anyone knows how to start mine BTG? or already started mining? i tried to download claymore from theyr site but seems i cannot change the wallet address in config.text to my BTC address.
But apart of that i know that they are start to mining on test now if i understanded well and ill like to join.
Sorry for my questions and if there is already a thread like this, but im new be kind please.
Ive a 6x 570 nitro+ 4gb
What will be the best pool to mine btg?
Thanks alot and sorry for my bad english

Be aware that Coins that are mined during test has no value, have read on these threads

Seems they are still have a few key pieces in place such as wallets then will start mining

Hello i got GIGABYTE GV-N1060IXOC-6GD nVidia GeForce GTX 1060 OC 6GB  and i was mining zec,but now i dont think zec is profitable any suggestion which altcoin should i mine?
Thanks in advance!!

i usually use online calcuators to see which coin is profitable to mine,

http://Http://whattomine.com

however some people are mining low difficulty coins then hold them and wait for price increase, its really up to you how to discover things and make profit out of it
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Struggling with adding 3rd GPU... on: November 03, 2017, 10:42:02 PM
Correct: the 570 does not show up in the device manager.

I can either have all three cards visible in the device manager with the infamous yellow triangle indicating they are not working properly, or I can have the 2 480s working fine and the 570 not showing up in the device manager at all.

Here is a more direct question:

Can a person run two different rx series cards on the same driver?

yes, you can run these cards, especially it is same RX series.

Quote
If yes, does it matter if 2 of the three cards are using a modded bios?

no it doesn't matter, I have 4 modded GPU's mixed with 1 stock and run smoothly.

Quote
I have plenty of PSU for my task according to any of the calculators I can find online. Its a Corsair 750w.

750w should be fine, especially when not mining, try to put the rx570 in other pci-e slot. if nothing happens, try clean uninstall,

use DDU and install blockchain driver

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx

however, the driver is for mining only and i'm not pretty sure if will decently work with gaming.
1332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No signal from PCIe risers on: November 03, 2017, 04:24:22 PM
It's probably using one of the cards as primary (monitor output) and not the onboard GPU. Try plugging the monitor into a card or the onboard graphics port.

I plugged the monitor hdmi cable in the GPU instead of the motherboard and it worked! Thank you so much, I could've found this solution on my own, but with your help the problem got solved in less than 10min, many thanks again!
I set Gen1 in the mobo settings for PCIe speed, is there anything else I should set in the mobo bios settings?

If all of your GPU's is now working with your current setup that would be fine, my advice is, just don't fix thing that ain't broke.
1333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU power to sell on: November 03, 2017, 04:21:03 PM
Mine monero.

Monero is already quite high in value... Is there a raccomended coin to mine with CPU ? I'm thinking to some coin that could scale well with something like 200 Intel CPU threads... Some coin that you start mining today with the idea to hold for few years...

Here are great topics for CPU mining.

Greetings,

New to the msg board and crypto mining, not new to bitcoin.

I currently have the following hardware mining successfully on nicehash:

i7 5820k
MSI x99s Plus motherboard
4x4gb ddr4
RX480 x 2

I have the 2 480s bios modded and clocked/volted with afterburner. Working great, very stable. On the latest AMD drivers released 11/2/17.

I wanted to add a 3rd card with bone stock settings (asus strix rx570) that I would use to display/game while the 2 480s churned in the background. When the PC was sitting idle I would begin mining with the 570 as well. That was my plan at least.

When I install the 570 it all goes to crap. The 570 will work initially, then the display goes black. If I switch the hdmi to a 480 for display, I can no longer see the 50 in windows device manager.

I wonder what do you mean by 50 in device manager?

Quote
Would there be some driver conflict because the 480s have modded bios and the 570 is stock?

Have you tried the patcher?

https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

Edited my post. I meant to say 570 instead of 50.

I have tried the pixel patcher and that gets my 480s working again in nicehash, but then I cant see the 570 in the device manager.

I presume the word can't see means it doesn't detect anything nor getting any error in device manager, if you're using a risers try to check them, check also your psu connections going to your GPU and risers. ensure that you have also enough PSU rating powering up your GPU's.

1336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How mining worker works. Help on: November 03, 2017, 03:39:43 PM
Just started trying to mine some Altcoin. Have many question.
The case are: using "pooler-cpuminer-2.5.0", and i'm pooling instead of solo,

1. What do you do after you execute the mining program?

monitor its efficiency, hashrates, temps, errors etc.

Quote
2. Does it tell you that a block has been finished?

you're using mining pools, it would will tell you if pools hit a block.

Quote
3. What if lets say you started the mining 3 minute then you exit. is that bad? what does it do? do you still get your share?

as long you mined and received shares, it is already recorded at the pool.

Quote
4. You get your share after the block is finished or at a specific time?

depending on the pool, reward is divided into miners according to their shares, with specific minimum amt of payouts, and with pool fees

1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mixing 1070s and 1080s in same rig on: November 03, 2017, 03:04:45 PM
Thanks halker2010 and Cereberus for reply. Actually when I do overclock now in AfterBurner it gets replicated to all GPUs automatically. So when I mix the GPUs, I probably have to select a gpu of a Kind to set up overclocking and save it and do the same for the other kind as well, correct?

yep, that's correct, just take note that only similar graphics card can be replicated and is selected as default, you can set also not to synchronized all similar cards on the settings if you want to.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help deciding mining operation on: November 03, 2017, 03:38:15 AM
I was hoping someone here could give me some quick tips on mining as I am a beginner.

I am a crypto invester but still a beginner when it comes to cryptocurrency!

I would like to start mining to get experience and I was wondering what coin is the easiest and at the same time most profitable to mine?

for this time it is still profitable depending in your electricity cost.

GPU mining is not an easy thing to do. but has high resale value when all F*cks up.

Quote
I have done some minor research and found that the most profitable coin to mine is as the list below.

1. Bitcoin
2. Etherum Classic
3. LiteCoin
4. Dash
5. Monero
6. Etherum

Which of those is easiest to mine? And do you have other suggestions? What type of mining rig should I setup?

Easiest are the ASIC miners for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dash

Consider the ff:

  • Electicity cost and setups, proper wiring and amp
  • locations, noise
  • mining difficulty

1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Flash Bios with PCIe risers on: November 03, 2017, 02:16:28 AM
Hello mining community,
I want to flash the original Bios back on my RX480s and I wonder if I can do this with the GPU connected to the motherboard via the riser cable (from GPU connected to the x16 lane) or do I need to plug the GPU directly in the 16x lane to be able to flash the Bios?

you can flash them while on risers, however take note of your GPU's if they are all identical then you can flash them with ease, otherwise, you have to do it one at a time.
1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Going To build a rig But Need help on: November 03, 2017, 01:42:00 AM
6GB 1060's will do better than the 3GB 1060's if you are mining ETH.  Not sure on other coins.  Also, the 6GB card will have better resale value.  Make sure you get a spare USB key with the OS already loaded and ready to go.  This is good in case something goes wrong with the original.

If you feel that this is something you are going to do for a while then please get yourself a Power Supply Tester.  They are cheap enough and will save you so much time in the future if your system starts to fail.

Good luck!

Thanks But How much should i profit better say make for this because im trying to make as much as possible
\
At the current difficulty and price. you will make revenue at least in 2x 1060GPU:

ETH - 2.27$

Nicehash Cryptonight - 3.44$

Cost is not yet deducted, calculate your electricity rates per day then subtract to above figures, that's your probable profit as of today.
