1321  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Re: How is Trestor still running? Is it a scam still? on: May 17, 2016, 03:24:52 PM
Hi I have seen Trestor is quite active and alive still:
http://www.indiainfoline.com/article/news-sme-start-ups/tech-start-up-trestor-embarks-on-mission-clean-with-swacch-machine-116040700522_1.html

and also from their website their live wallet app on google play has quite good reviews, and showing that it still has 700+ retail outlets.

Woahh.
It was a scam back then, it's still a scam now.  Grin
Not sure how they're still alive, though.
Why you calling them scam?Have they asked for money for their services and run away ? I think it was a good initiative which couldn't succeed first time

Can i call it a scam for the false marketing?

Or do I have to wait for this to get big enough for it to qualify as a scam.

It's a scam in the making.

Really man? any link to the info on how this will work? Neither heard of this company nor this type of storage box. Sound really interesting.  Cheesy

It's from a show - Silicon Valley.
He's kidding.
1323  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ❎ CASASCIUS LOADED 1 BTC on: May 17, 2016, 01:53:25 PM
A day of scams it seems.  sadly sounds like they made off with about $150 at least (assuming its the same person / group who hacked wheelz1200 and bitmarket.io.

Be careful these days.
Why do you think this is the same guy that was able to hack bitmarket and wheelz?

Is this a scam as I was going to buy it?

Ohh, you weren't being sarcastic.
Yes, don't buy this.
It's most likely a scam.
1324  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cloud bitcoin mining on: May 17, 2016, 01:52:18 PM
I don't understand what you are talking about and ask. But I hope you are not investing in Cloud mining, because 90% of site/place that provides it definitely uses ponzi system, and that system is very bad if you belong to one of the people who do the most recent registration.

True.
But, I'd recommend him to use a service like NiceHash, where he can easily buy Cloud Mining hash power on demand.

People are crazy 120$ for used item that can buy for 99$ new. LOL

Nobody's going to buy it for 120$.
Plus newbie account..

It would be very risky to keep your Bitcoins in a used wallet.
1328  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2016-05-11] ToI: Swiss town to accept bitcoin payments on: May 17, 2016, 12:14:17 PM
Swiss town to accept bitcoin payments

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Swiss-town-to-accept-bitcoin-payments/articleshow/52228036.cms

A Swiss town that is billing itself as a hub for the digital currency industry will accept bitcoin for some payments starting this summer, in what proponents call a worldwide first by a government body and a sign that "crypto finance" is growing in legitimacy.

The town council in northern Zug last week approved plans to accept payments of up to 200 Swiss francs (about $200) for municipal registration fees starting July 1, in what Mayor Dolfi Mueller called Wednesday an "experiment" aimed at making the digitally-minded town a pioneer in finance.

How this news is it related to india section? Is it just because it was published in Indian newspaper?

A Reputed Indian Newspaper covering Bitcoin, no matter if it's related to India, is a big deal for Bitcoin. Grin

1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin Halving. Will Price go up or price go down? on: May 17, 2016, 10:54:48 AM
Price will go up.
That being said, it could only be a few dollars.
It depends on demand. Will people keep using bitcoin? Probably.

If price stays the same, there will be no incentive for miners to keep mining.
Let's see what happens.
It's tricky, though.
1332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin Halving. Will Price go up or price go down? on: May 17, 2016, 10:22:58 AM

Well been seeing a lot of gloom/doom on the halving...so figured I'd throw up a POLL and see what folk really think.

I don' know enough to take a firm postion, but like all of us holding BTC I hope it goes up up up Smiley

Enjoy the poll and comment here on your why's or why nots in your choice Smiley

Haha.
Much needed poll.

I don't think that the price will go up.
But it's very difficult to predict. Grin
1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger Wallet - My Review - Comparing Wallets For Security on: May 17, 2016, 10:19:48 AM
That's a great review.

I've both Ledger & Trezor wallet.
Trezor wallet is pretty good & I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a hardware wallet.

1335  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining? on: May 17, 2016, 10:04:03 AM
Yes, Most Cloud Mining websites are scams.
But, I'd recommend you to use On-demand Cloud mining websites like Nicehash.

I've used this a couple of times and these are very profitable.
1336  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying Bitcoins from bitvestmint.com on: May 17, 2016, 09:24:03 AM
Why don't you simply buy Bitcoins from a trustworthy exchange?
It would be much safer & easier for you.

1338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 17, 2016, 08:43:44 AM
If the price goes down after the halving people will lose their nerve and start panic selling 100% and this will lead to even more decreasing of the price. I hope this scenario would not happen and we will see a normal pump and dump like it's expected. Personally I will sit on the sideline and will watch what is going to happen until the end of the year and I will make my move in the winter or during next year. It's very bad to make premature decisions this summer.

I think 75% of the people expect too much from the block halving, and that may indeed lead to heavy dumpings after the block halving if they see the price didn't go up a lot. But then again, people will sell anyway. If the price goes up, people will cash out their profits, and if the price doesn't go up, people will sell because they are disappointed or simply expect others to sell as well so they sell in panic to not fall behind.

True, many people are accumulating as many coins as they can, so as to dump when the rate of BTC goes up.
This will lead to people dumping when bitcoin goes like 10% up.

That will probably decrease the price of 1BTC.

1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $XVG $VERGE will be add to poloniex and reach 1ksat ? on: May 17, 2016, 07:32:25 AM
i think poloniex will be add $XVG and will reach $1k sat ?
what do you think about $XVG ?

It is just a re-branded version of DogeDark.
There are too many coins & it isn't going up to 1k sat.

If it gets added on Polo, maybe we'll see 100 sat. Maybe. Grin
