13201  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Massive drop in global hashrate on: February 01, 2018, 05:45:21 PM
T9's and S9's sold earlier on their site?

We can only guess, but I won't be surprised to see something new soon. Samsung rumors state 11\8nm so Bitmains will come up with something if this is a serious threat.

And when BTC is low and you need to sell to pay in BCH, you have to sell your BTC at low prices, can't call it anything else?
It is not whining, just taken some  seen actions in mind...

With them advertising T9's for sale with near immediate shipping, I wouldn't doubt if they're clearing out mines for new gear.  Who knows, the Samsung rumors don't name the Chinese partner.  With Bitmain already maxing out TSMC's manufacturing capabilities, it could be possible they have grown wealthy enough to team up with Samsung to produce future ASIC chips for mining.

Did you just state that OgNasty scammed someone? I'm assuming this is a made up lie that you're spreading behind his back. I'll notify him.

Yes, please enlighten me who I scammed VirosaGITS. I’d like to hear your response before leaving you appropriate feedback.
13203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum vs NEO on: February 01, 2018, 08:22:11 AM
Given the size of their market caps ETH- 110 billion vs NEO- 9 billion, I think that NEO is likely to outperform ETH going forward.
13204  Economy / Securities / Re: 🔑🔒⛏The project aim: Search for the private keys to the lost Bitcoin addresses. on: February 01, 2018, 08:10:39 AM
I graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of the University. I understand the whole complexity of the task.

Will you post some calculations of the likelihood of cracking the address' private key and what amount of electricity would be used to reach that likelihood?

13205  Economy / Collectibles / Re: allthingsdecentral.com warning / heads up on: February 01, 2018, 03:03:23 AM
I’m surprised to hear this. Aren’t they one of the oldest and largest retailers in Bitcoin?
13206  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer loosing connection on: January 31, 2018, 11:15:28 PM
The only time I ever encountered this problem, it turned out the culprit was having multiple wireless extenders. The solution was to disable the wireless extending and use them only as access points for the main router. Not saying that’s your problem, but could be a possible solution for someone with a congested WiFi network.
13207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 09:58:13 PM
The trillion dollar question now is, how would these developments and particularly the ban on crxptocurrency Ads by Facebook impact our beloved industry, considering the fact that the industry and ICO promoters rely on Facebook to reach over 2.7 bn people?

I imagine it will result in less newbies investing in scams.
13208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency that you can use in-game apps??!?! on: January 31, 2018, 09:48:27 PM
They've had some hurdles, but Huntercoin has been doing the game currency thing for several years now.

I could engrave an image and address/key on a silver blank if you really wanted one.  Might be a way for you to get a funny one with a custom image.

I'd go for one  Grin

I’d only be willing to make 1 as a joke. PM me about it if you’re serious.
13210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin tips: the 10 Commandments on: January 31, 2018, 07:39:57 PM
#2 should really be replaced with something along the lines of, “If you don’t have ownership of your private keys, you don’t own Bitcoin.”

Storing coins on exchanges should never be advised.
13211  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a $500 PayPal loan for 3-6 months. $700 BTC collateral on: January 31, 2018, 07:34:36 PM
These terms would've worked for me, but you're unfortunately not trusted enough. If you can arrange for escrow with a trusted member, then I'm game

PayPal and escrow don’t mix. PayPal funds can be reversed weeks after the escrow is released. It is a false sense of security.

13213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What communication channels I have to use for ICO? on: January 31, 2018, 05:14:03 PM
Slack

This is my recommendation.  Great software, even if it does use a ton of resources for what it is.
13214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help setting up antminer on: January 31, 2018, 05:09:52 PM
I use an app on my iPhone called Net Analyzer that scans my network and tells me the devices on it and what their IP is.  It's very helpful in finding new AntMiners.  You might want to try something like that to see if you can't find them on your network.

Sounds like the "attack" your router blocked may be the AntMiners trying to work.  Maybe try resetting your router settings and seeing if you have better luck?  It definitely sounds like a connectivity issue.
13215  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $300 into a million? Possible? on: January 31, 2018, 05:01:59 PM
I saw some youtube videos claiming that you can make a million USD in a year starting with $100-500 only, is it really possible? Specially for a newbie like me?

It is definitely possible.  I've witnessed it.  However, you won't do it daytrading or searching for the next Bitcoin.  You do it by solving problems.
13216  Other / Archival / Re: IS 1 SAT/BYTE TOO LOW?? on: January 31, 2018, 04:56:33 PM
The answer to your question is variable.  Here's a website I use that helps me determine what fee I should use based on the mempool at the time I send.  The bottom chart is the relevant one.

13217  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [11.2kW SOLAR/WIND/MAN] NastyMining Green Energy Project ☀️💨💪🔋 on: January 31, 2018, 02:25:46 AM
Hey Nasty, I just have a general solar question if you dont mind. My father has a 32 panel solar setup running his off the grid house. He has had nothing but problems with his 20 lead acid batteries and it costs almost double what that powerwall costs to replace them. Would you recommend one of these as a replacement for a traditional battery setup? If not, do you know of any other battery setup that will last longer than these crap batteries hes been stuck with?

As far as I am aware, the Tesla Powerwall is the best of the best.  There are cheaper methods if you're a DIY'er that are probably a lot more fun and rewarding.  Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk50IuWXg-c
13218  Other / Meta / Re: Can someone explain why this post is worth 96 merits on: January 30, 2018, 09:56:35 PM
I don't have a problem with the post staying on the forum. I'm just a bit stressed that a drunken post that doesn't seem to contribute much gets twice as many merits as all my posts combined. It just makes me feel thst I have little value for the community here.

Doesn’t contribute much? It led to news articles, t-shirts, online groups, and is a mantra for the community.
13219  Other / Meta / Re: TEN CLASSIC Bitcointalk posts. on: January 30, 2018, 08:57:23 PM
There are some great historically meaningful quotes/links on this thread. Let’s try to stay on topic.

Your list doesn't represent what Theymos is looking for to identify merit source candidates. The discussion is over!

This is a list of classic posts, not a list of posts that theymos is looking for.  Again, let's stay on topic.  Wink

Edit: Since "merit" seems to be a bit of a hot button issue for some at the moment, I've edited the subject to something I think is less controversial.
