1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash hacked? on: December 15, 2017, 03:59:06 AM
I learned that Nicehash was attacked not long ago and that he is trying to restore it. There are a lot of investors falling into debt when Nicehash is attacked. I was a bit puzzled when I heard that.

Investors in NH that are falling into debt?  People who have invested their own money in mining rigs that don't care to learn how to mine singles?  What the hell do you mean?

If NH raised money to start their company, their investors accepted the risk of investing in NiceHash.  So that's a who the fuck cares right there.

I have a PowerColor RX480 8GB 'reference' card, and an XFX  4GB RS RX470 card I'd be willing to make a great deal on, especially if paying in crypto.  If anyone is interested, and preferably in the US, please PM me.

Fuck that noise ... Lol.
1343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Somebody please sell me on a new AMD Rig on: December 15, 2017, 03:47:13 AM
I just started mining in July this year. We (my wife and I) got the parts build a 6 x 1070 rig on July 22, we got all the 1070 cars for $399 each and
had it up and running 3 hours later.

How difficult are the AMD rigs compared to the Nvidia rigs.

Please sell me on a AMD rig for Cryptonight! or another algo (maybe get another nvidia rig?)

Thankds

AMD rigs may involve a bit more configuration because of the need for BIOS mods and whatnot but the primary trade-off is that you get more hashrate and less power consumption. Of course it will depend on your GPU but generally its safe to say its more profitable.

Like what previous posters said, I personally recommend the Vega 56s, if you can get them at around $500.

The stats I posted above are without bios mods.  1900 h/s and 180w power draw.  The only thing I did was windows reg edits to reduce power consumption from 230 to 180 per card.
1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Somebody please sell me on a new AMD Rig on: December 15, 2017, 01:16:11 AM
If power is reasonably cheap, a Vega-based rig will do quite well. (56 and 64 get similar performance on XMR and such coins, but if you can get the 64 at similar prices, may as well.)

True that!  I'm not sure what cheap power is ... I'm paying about 0.10 per kwh.  Each card is running at 180w with a soft power reduction via regedit.  Out of the box, my cards were running at 225w - 230w each.
1345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Somebody please sell me on a new AMD Rig on: December 15, 2017, 12:43:26 AM
I'm running a 6 gpu RX Vega 56 rig.  Got the gpu's for 525 each, but you'll just have to wait until the suppy is replenished.  No one has them in stock right now for a reasonable price.  Anyway ... Each card is doing 1900 h/s with xmr-stak.
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 10 GPUs? Asus Z270-A on: December 14, 2017, 05:42:12 PM
Question for people who are still building and adding GPUs....

Can we now rock out with 10 GPUs of the same maker?
I currently have 2 builds on an Asus Z270-A with 8 GPUs, i know i can add a 9th but has to be a different make.
Can we do all 9-10 of the same GPU?

Below is a link which says we can rock out with 10 GPUs.

I think its good for minig

You have a lot more thinking to do, sir.
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash hacked? on: December 14, 2017, 04:29:08 AM
Moreover you all need to consider the small miner payout schedule of around 1 week... Something goes wrong you loose whatever you have mined during 1 week in the worst case. I have changed to an Electroneum pool where I get paid to my wallet every hour. Unless Nicehash changes something about that I will definitely not be going back. How do ya all see that? I lost about 90 USD due to this security breach....

Most mining pools that I know have minimum payouts of like $200-300, to reach that I need way longer than a week.

The pool I'm mining XMR on is paying out at 0.3.  My 6 gpu rig is doing over 0.1 per day, so I'm getting paid out roughly every three days.

Damn, what cards are you mining with?  I'm mining on supportXMR pool as well with 2 RX570's and I'm definitely not getting 0.033 XMR per day (1/3 of your 6 GPU's).  Yours must be hashing a lot faster than mine Smiley  It's going to take me about 22-25 days to reach the 0.3 XMR Payout.

RX Vega 56's ... Over 1900 h/s per card ... Not to be confused with RX560's.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What would be the better gpu for crypto mining on: December 14, 2017, 04:21:44 AM
Everyone know that people begin to buy nvidia cards after all the AMD cards where gone. No one want to miss the cryptotrain.

I don't.  Nvidia isn't getting much of my money.  Might buy a couple for testing purposes.  I just keep mining with my Vega 56's!  Lol ... I'll wait until I can get them at 600usd per card before I buy more.  I got lucky though.  I bought my first six at a low price and the next day, my co-worker tried to buy from the same source.  They were sold out.  And then I paid for another six a little higher, but not much ... On backorder.  Which is fine ... If I get them by Christmas, I'll be happy.  I will not buy them at 700-800 per card though.
1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What would be the better gpu for crypto mining on: December 14, 2017, 03:45:58 AM
AMD RX VEGA 56 or 64 are the best.

I'm glad someone around here knows what they are talking about.  Idiot up above went to the extent of saying a Vega 56 is not profitable ... Lol.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Soooo I think I got scammed on: December 14, 2017, 03:43:41 AM
this post got me lost.
how is it possible you claimed that you've sent $ 748.62 from an empty address
...
btw where did you get the address 1DRyn1exfN?
He did explain it all already...

Basically, he thought his "deposit" address on the exchange (btcmarkets.net) was the wallet address he sent from:
That address is the BTC wallet address from the exchange I sent from, how could it not have any transactions? If I sent BTC from that wallet, int the exchange (btcmarkets.net)
I sent BTC to an "investment" site  called http   btc2double    DOT COM, not sure on hyperlink rules.
Yes I know im an idiot for this, still worth fully understanding.

In the end it makes no difference like you said... he sent to a bitcoin doubler... those coins are gone Undecided

If he were trying to help double the site operator's btc, then he did the right thing ... LOL.  He sure as fuck played a part in helping them double their BTC.
1351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Soooo I think I got scammed on: December 14, 2017, 03:41:42 AM
Wow ... Why in the fuck would anyone ever think that is legit?  I mean the fucking name of the site is BTC DOUBLE?  JEZZUS FUCKING CHRIST!  Use well known exchanges and stop giving away your money.  Lesson learned I guess, but that's just strange that someone would fall for something like that.  My 80 year old grandmother wouldn't fall for that shit.

Not to say that well known exchanges can't get hacked, but please educate yourself, before you make any future transactions in cryptocurrency.
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What would be the better gpu for crypto mining on: December 14, 2017, 03:20:48 AM
Hi,

Disclaimer: I'm very very new to mining, so, more experienced user may have better info.

From my reading around the place, it appears that the AMD 580 range and nVidia 1070 ranges are best price/performance gpu's. Bear in mind that each vendor AMD/nVidia have their strengths and weaknesses in that they each mine different algorithms more efficiently.

A good place to start doing some research is the BitsBeTrippin youtube channel. This guy reviews a whole heap of cards, so it may be worthwhile taking at some of his videos.

You're mostly right. However, I would currently add Vega 56 mining a CryptoNight coin to that list. Using a new mining software called Cast XMR you can get 2050 h/s @160W (as compared to 500 h/s from a 1070 @ 60W) from a single Vega 56.

I have a 6 gpu Vega 56 rig that I'm running XMR-STAK on.  I'm doing about 1930 h/s @ 180w per card ... But ... I didn't flash to the 64 bios.  I used reg edits for the drop in power consumption.  Out of the box, I was around 230w per card.
1353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much longer will the 1080Ti be the king? on: December 14, 2017, 02:53:29 AM
and the vega56  is far more profitable with monero with 1800+ h

i think it s the best gpu for mining  price watt earnings
VEGA 56 is not profitable. Mining Ethereum VEGA shows very modest results. Price it twice what the RX 580 but the profitability of these cards 30 Mh/s and the profitability of VEGA 56 approximately 43 Mh/s. What is the benefit? Power consumption of VEGA 56 is also very high. I heard that they are beneficial to use in the extraction of zec but I can't say for sure.
Yes, Vega is very bad, hot and slow card. That is way it is nearly impossible to buy it )))))))))))))

Not profitable? LOL ... Who said anything about mining ETH with it? ... My six card rig with Vega 56's is doing just fine with XMR.  Power consumption at 180W per card.  Average H/S is 1900 per card.  Paid $525 USD for each card.  Six more on back order that I paid $550/card for.  I would love to buy more at that price, but you can't find them anywhere at the moment, unless you pay some dumbass on Amazon 1000USD for one.

Bad, hot, and slow? You just aren't in the know, dude.
1354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL App on: December 14, 2017, 02:20:12 AM
Specifically the iPhone HODL app.  I just found out there is a HODL app for Android, but it isn't made by the same people.  Basically I'm looking for something that I can run on a pc.
1355  Economy / Trading Discussion / HODL App on: December 14, 2017, 02:14:11 AM
Is there a desktop application like the mobile HODL app that will allow you to pick coins and the exchange prices it displays for them?  I know they have a Chrome browser extension, but it isn't near as customizable as the smart phone app.  The Chrome extension won't allow you to select the exchange you want a specific coin price to be displayed in.
1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Wrong Address number in Claymore gpu ETN miner on: December 13, 2017, 02:13:40 AM
Also good news ... 60 ETN isn't worth shit right now, so you only lose like 6 dollars usd?  Get your shit together (meaning correct your mistakes) and mine on.
1357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hello I need Help plz on: December 13, 2017, 02:10:40 AM
I am new at mining and started mining ETN 2 days ago and used Claymore GPU miner on nanopool and while i Configuring the bat file i by mistake write my local wallet address.my cyrptopia payment id and the miner did mine around 60 ETN.
so when i reach the payout limit the ETN will transfer for my local wallet or my cryptopia account or will be lost and cant get them back Huh?
Please help if i have to change the configuration to stop wasting time.

i am sorry to say but i do not think so
that they will change the address to it
but still give it a try and message them with every detail and your issue
Ok what will happen when they try to pay me out to local wallet address and paymentID for exchange platform
the transaction will be lost or will be sent to my local wallet Huh?!!!!

It will probably just go into a black hole and you'll never see it if they end up paying it out to a payment id, unless the pool can fix your fuck up before it gets paid out.  You shouldn't be mining directly to an exchange for one thing.  And how in the hell did you end up sending it to a payment id?  A payment id is NOT a wallet.  You have to be careful when configuring your miners.

The good news is that it hasn't been paid out into the black hole of nowhere, so maybe your pool can fix it for you.  Otherwise it will just sit there until it reaches the pool threshold of abandonment and be considered unclaimed.
1358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash miner alternatives? on: December 13, 2017, 01:05:13 AM
The closest thing to NH seems to be MiningPoolHub - there you can actually let it choose which coin it mines (most profitable one for specific algo), you just set up claymore to run an algo... also, you can set up auto exchange to BTC. Downside, no way in hell to actually know approx how much you're making per day other than check the BTC balance every day at the same time.

If you for example mine ETN, set up wallet and Cryptopia and want to convert to BTC and send BTC to where you make USD withdrawals, oh my, 34$ BTC wallet to BTC wallet fee, wtf!

Yeah ... Don't convert to BTC and then expect a low withdraw fee from an alt coin exchange like Cryptopia.  HitBtc (no idea if they have etn) is much lower, but still very high unless you're doing large amounts.  I've found that other big name coins have much lower withdraw fees to get you into your wallet.
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how much should i go over the electric usage for mining before utility storms in on: December 13, 2017, 01:00:33 AM
I wouldn't worry about it my electricity usage jumped more than 10-fold to nearly 5 MW per month and noone has given a single fuck. been 6 months

is this your dwelling? home or condo 5mw is big!.

yes, own home. 100A 3-phase, so i could get out much more if i wanted.

What year was your home built?  Mine is 200A 3-phase.
1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash hacked? on: December 12, 2017, 08:08:19 PM
anyone who goes back to using nicehash is a moron and deserves to have there coin stolen again, it happened once. it will happen again especially now that people know that nicehash is a good target. doubt there going to be able to pay back 60 to 78 million dollars any time soon, they don't even make that much a year
Shut the fuck up. You're a fucking idiot. Eat a dick.

says the person whos impressed about nicehash. yet they haven't returned a dime yet to there users
I'm sure you'd like to be tried, convicted and punished by a bunch of assclowns in a chat room huh? "Innocent until proven guilty". It's really better that way than yours. Stop acting like some Totalitarian dictator. Maybe.....just maybe, those guys are trying to run an honest business and they are victims too. How would you like to have your business torn apart by criminals and then be accused of the crime? We all make mistakes. Trust me....I make plenty.

Was thinking that seeds would become the new currency a mistake? Lol ... Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'm in total agreement with you on the NH ordeal.  I know people are pissed off that they lost money, but no one really knows who is responsible.  Just a ton of people making unnecessary accusations.

its pretty clear who is responsible, nicehash for being soooo naïve to leave 78 million dollars worth of coin in a hot wallet that was poorly secured and yall don't blame them? what morons you all are. technically they wernt hacked, someone logged into there NETWORK with one of the developers credentials. for all yall know it was an inside job and someone handed another person the login info.

Yes, they are responsible for allowing a security breach to happen.  It was their job to prevent that from ever happening.  What you don't know is if they are guilty of theft or if they knowingly allowed their security to be breached.  Neither of those two scenarios are facts at this time.  They may eventually be proven to be facts, but they currently are not.  I'm not defending them.  I'm just not jumping to conclusions, because I am a reasonable person.
