You can do without change addresses in electrum, but I haven't seen that in bitcoin-qt. Your client shouldn't download the blockchain each time. Make sure you're logging on as the same user as it puts it in your home directory. If you run it as admin and then as a regular user your home directories will be different.

What wallet are you using?

Did blockchain.info generate this key or was this a brain wallet?

It looks like 4 is the maximum for checklevel. Having an assertion fail is not good -- did you check your logfiles (db.log and debug.log) and your overall RAM/HD(SMART) health?

I'm in batch 3 and would be happy to swap with anyone in batch 1.

I'm skeptical about the truth of this article ...
Good points. I would never even consider letting them in my house without a warrant. Then we would have a record with a judges name on it, and the name of the requesting authority. Tons of people let cops search without a warrant. The cops rely on this. The question is -- if you refuse 6 guys would they just come back at 3AM with 60 guys and a battering ram?

I have an order for two jallies (5GH/s) and was planning on flashing them, do you guys think upgrading to 7GH/s to get better chips would be worth it?
That's a good question -- up until now it seemed like everyone could flash to 8+ GHz, but now there's someone who couldn't get better than 7. The problem is that upgrading to 7 doesn't ensure that you will be able to reflash to 8.

If you're really in a tough spot financially you're going to be hurting with a 25% interest rate over 6 months. I donate to https://www.modestneeds.org/index.asp -- they help people who are actually in need, you should fill out an application there.

It really seems like some kind of corruption -- can you run a RAM test? What do your log files say?

Looks like buy and hold is going to win unless there's a downward dip.

And you first need that 1 BTC to move it around.
That is true, it weeds out the real deadbeats. I still wouldn't trust anyone I didn't know because they received and paid off a loan to someone else I didn't know and may have been the same person.

Did some searching and found this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=103167.0It suggests trying the checkblocks command and checking your log files for corruption. >bitcoin-qt.exe -checkblocks=0 -checklevel=6 This really shouldn't happen so often -- is your hard drive failing? Can you check the SMART diagnosis? I'd try relocating the datadir to a secondary hard drive just to see if that helps.

It must be something to do with your firewall. You could try temporarily disabling it. You're not running out of room on your C drive are you? I had an SSD that I filled up and had to move the datadir to a secondary drive. (add --datadir="D:\bitcoin" to your shortcut)
You could try downgrading to 0.8.2-beta -- this is what I run and it's never had that problem. If you're using this for your business I'd recommend a dedicated linux box for the security and uptime.
Not really a fix, but you could make a backup of your blocks directory to avoid redownloading.

Just to not get called a scammer working with a friend: please post the transaction ID so other's can follow the payment and re-payment.
How does watching BTC go from one anonymous address to another and back help anything?

It's the expected value. It's the weighted average of all outcomes. For gambling it's always negative meaning you're always going to lose. It's very often misused when talking about gambling. Just remember you'll always lose.

There's an open source fpga, maybe that will have the info.

Before it went through did it say you still had an order? Or did that disappear?
It showed up as an order before that.
|
|
|
Errrm, what's going on.
Damnnit, I had my order in before the cut off time and now my order isn't showing up? Is this happening to anyone else, or am I just getting screwed?
Mine went through -- it looks like the purchasing script is still running.

So, you send .54 BTC to an escrow. Now you get .67 BTC from a random mugu. Now you run away, as you planned to. Escrow gives back the .54 BTC to loaner. You earned 0.13 BTC. And loaner exchanged .67 BTC for .54 BTC. Or did I miss something ? Yeah nothing makes sense here. Just ask for a 0.13 BTC loan.
