13602  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: In urgent need of 0.01 BTC. I would pay 15 US$ paypal instantly. on: March 16, 2014, 11:47:35 AM
This (german) guy is running a BMW sportscar auction and begging for 0.01 BTC  Huh

This guy also drives a Porsche Sportscar, trades 100.000 US$ daily on Kraken and does random giveaways of 0.05-0.10 BTC to strangers ... just for fun.

I have no idea why you did not give me 0.01 BTC back then, but this shows me that the trust and the gratitude among this community is ZERO.
When somebody is in need (like this one guy begging for a 50 US$ loan) I just give it to him as a gift, just because it makes fun doing good things.
Here, when asking for 5 US$, you get called "scammer".

Seriously guys: IS THIS A JOKE?

Why don't you fulfil the next ten users requesting to buy coins via paypal here and see how many chargeback on you? You should trust everybody zero until they prove otherwise.
13603  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paypal Help needed !!! on: March 16, 2014, 11:39:25 AM
Hey is anyone around here a pro in paypal Huh

Iam facing a problem in my account need help please post here if you think you can guide me and i'll pm you with more information:

Actually my Paypal account got limited due to a dumb ass customer which later when contacted said that she forgets totally about the transaction made and unknowingly chargeback

Yeah, "forgot" and "unknowingly". You can basically get your money back from any purchase you make with Paypal. It's an absolute joke.
13604  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: MakeBTC.org Pyramid Scheme on: March 15, 2014, 01:15:59 PM
I don't think that's how thieves or scammers work  Cheesy.

Mr. makebtc so far didn't steal or scam anyone. nrd525 got the site suspended, so he's the one to blame for Mr. makebtc cannot continue offering his service.
See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=472000

So he says, but where's Mr. Makebtc or your Bitcoins?

Being anonymous (not that John was) doesn't automatically make someone untrustworthy, though it can be a warning sign. Valuing your privacy doesn't mean you're a criminal. Same reason I refuse entry/searches from the cops, I'm not doing anything wrong but I still value my rights and privacy.

Besides, theymos was right, John returned the forum's money. I don't know what the fucks going on with the escrow though, wouldn't care to speculate either, waste of time.

As for refusing entry/searched from the cops, I can only imagine that making things worse. I would think most cops would react in a hostile way when you show resistance, even if it is your right to do so, it's a big chance that force will be exercised on you.

If you're not doing anything wrong or there's no good reason for a search then they have no right or reason to become hostile. You can't just let the police abuse you and their powers just because they might become hostile when they've no reason to.

This is the story of a white male in San Fransisco and how he was put in jail after calling for help regarding a bicycle accident:
http://sfist.com/2014/02/18/young_tech_worker_who_called_911_on.php

According to several other reports, the harrasment and treatment of black americans are even worse, and in many other countries it's not much better.

Logic and reason has no value against a cop on a power trip.

So you let cops do whatever they want to you just so you don't cause a fuss? You have to stand up for your rights less petty tyrants will always walk all over them.
13606  Other / Meta / Re: Noob Restrictions on: March 15, 2014, 01:10:18 PM
I'm not normally a moaner, Please can we have some regulation for new members posting goods for sale, This is beyond a joke now with all the scamms going on.

Don't miss understand me, I do get that people need to register to sell stuff, But I object to being able to post within minutes.

This post is the one straw that broke the camels back
Quote

Is it because he is new....NO, Is it because he want to sell fast...NO, It's because he can self moderate straight away!

I think some restrictions should be implemented and the previous newb restrictions should be brought back, but if anybody sends money to that guy then it's their own fault to be honest.
13607  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Possible Scammer - John K on: March 15, 2014, 01:01:38 PM
It's a shame. I've used him once for escrow in the past and it was slow and he never lived up to his end (but did send the funds after a delay). One side of me wants to think that he wouldn't scam (being so involved in blockchain), but the other half of me realizes that a large percentage of early adopters are scammers.

What's more puzzling / a bigger mystery is why would he return the 1000 forum coins but not these 100. It doesn't make sense.

Does he have any other money still held in escrows?

Wouldn't be a problem unloading Gold, rumour has it that there was 17 Tons of Gold being transported to China, that's enough to turn a pilots head, and with a value of >700 MILLION $'s there's enough to share with your buddies waiting at some abandoned airstrip.

From where did you get that news?

Probably the Infowars.com forum  Grin.

Let's just go with the plane crashed somewhere and the Malaysians don't know how to manage airplanes.
 Wink

Yeah, except for the other 99.9% of aeroplanes they manage fine.
13612  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: MakeBTC.org Pyramid Scheme on: March 14, 2014, 04:48:48 PM
So, we ever gonna get back what you have stolen?

I don't think that's how thieves or scammers work  Cheesy.

If we keep the age thing we need an edit.

Sometimes i need to correct a small detail and it kills the time.

Sorry this is off topic, but how does goat keep changing his username?  Could I get my username changed to His Most Eminent Highness Grand Caesar Imperator Fish?
If you want to donate 10 BTC to the forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=334632
and no, the price will not be changing.

Oh, donators must be early adopters or very rich then!  Smiley

Usually both - well, unless they frittered it all away on stuff like donating to forums  Cheesy. I don't think we'll be seeing any people becoming Donators or VIPs again though.
13614  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: March 14, 2014, 04:38:05 PM
mainstream news media are starting to lose interest on this incident

Probably because there's nothing to report on. I'm sure they'll be all over it if/when it's found.

Watched Wolf of Wall Street. Thought it was decent; a few laughs but quite dull in places. They could've cut a lot out and made it much more digestible. Was impressed with Hill's performance though.
13617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Zipzap to offer cash to bitcoin in 28000 uk locations on: March 14, 2014, 11:10:22 AM
I've no idea why they chickened out. It's just another thing to buy.

Assuming it comes back soon I think they'll have to do a little thinking about the right strategies to make it worthwhile for buyers.

Maybe they had some legal pressure, or maybe they figured it wasn't worth the risk of using it. I can't image they made much sales through it.
13618  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RitzGrandCasino Scam, not provably fair, deleting replies in thread. on: March 14, 2014, 11:06:49 AM
I noticed something that he's been doing for the last week or so, it appears that he's bumping his thread in the gambling section every day by deleting his bump from the day before and posting a new reply.  Not sure why, as bumping your thread once a day is allowed.

That's what you're meant to do so the thread isn't just littered with bumps.

Link to where it says that that is the preferred method?  Personally I think it looks disingenuous, but maybe I'm just used to seeing it not done that way.

It's been mentioned several times by mods/admins. Look in meta or something.
13619  Other / Meta / Re: 502 BAD GATEWAY on: March 13, 2014, 04:31:03 PM

Same here.
theymos new draft feature is now very useful.

Surely it wont work if you preview it and the site 502s though?

By the way: Even if your post fails with some error, a draft is likely to get saved. The draft is saved before most errors can occur.

Not sure if the site going down would fall under an error though?

Drafts are auto-saved......every whatever minutes......or seconds, ask theymos.

We're all familiar on how web-mail draft function works, right? right Huh

As far as I can tell so far it doesn't save unless you preview it.

Close enough prediction Wink

You call backing the losing team a 'close enough prediction'?
