13601  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you purchased your copy of Bitcoin Magazine Issue #3 at Barnes & Noble yet? on: September 08, 2012, 02:55:20 AM
I'll look out for it this weekend. I'm inclined to buy an issue but if Matthew doesn't pay up this Sunday, I don't want anything to do with the magazine.

I'll buy a year's subscription if Matthew pays out as he said in his bet thread and in PMs.

Less than 48 hours...

I'll look out for it this weekend. I'm inclined to buy an issue but if Matthew doesn't pay up this Sunday, I don't want anything to do with the magazine.

Same, I'm buying if Matthew pays out.  Hell, I'll be so happy I'll even buy them out most likely. If he doesn't pay with him co-owning the magazine and all, there's no chance in hell I'll ever buy an issue.

Guess we'll see!  Wink

Ditto!! Wink

I'm going to keep you all to your word on that. If I lose and pay out according to the rules in my thread OP, you'll all buy a magazine.

Matthew,

I'm quoting you quoting me because I'm pretty sure we're all serious about our words if you lose and pay.

37 hours and counting...

Smoothie, I'm quoting you quoting me quoting you because I'm very serious about paying out according to the rules in my thread OP. I also think it's retarded that you guys think that "not buying a magazine if matthew doesn't pay" affects me in the slightest. It's not my magazine you know  Wink

I'm quoting to make sure all the wink smileys are not changed and to increase my post count.

correction though. It is the 'Registered Agent' address for gpuMAx and like 5,000 other companies who were registered by the same company on behalf of their customers.

Note the Taxpayer #. Should be easy now to make this a federal case. FYI, the FBI has a tip line. I'm also sure the IRS will want their cut of the loot.

Bitcoin
It's Laissez-Fair

Good slogan?  Sorry couldn't help myself Wink

No. Bad slogan.

Bitcoin
It's Laissez-Faire

Much better.

I was about to post the same thing, and ask, if by chance, it was a play on word(s) that went over my head, hence knowing Evoorhees' handle on the English language.

13604  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: September 08, 2012, 02:31:42 AM
Okay, I'm ready to make my official guess:

Bitcoin bonds

That did come to mind when talk of bonds started escalating after the Bitfloor hack. Perfect timing, if I may say so myself.

13605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Project will be making a major announcement in September on: September 08, 2012, 02:25:15 AM
My tip is public organisation funded to protect and support Bitcoin, its developers and users. (NOT like FinCEN, something like EFF.org. But, wait... BitCEN Tongue)

You mean they'll accept bitcoin for a while and then decide it's too risky because of vague conflict of interest issues and dump them?

Yup, the announcement will probably be that they'll set up a legal organization that will act as an official contact and information center for everything Bitcoin related. Hence all these legal questions. It was already proposed a while ago actually.

"Bitcoin" has no phone number, that confuses the hell out of old world people.

Overheard at the visitor center at Fermi Lab.

What's nu?
Not much! What's new with you?

And, on a slightly different tangent to satisfy the Furry Geeks.

What did one wildebeest say to the other wildebeest at an upscale lounge?
Around here, we're gnu.

And, for the Bitcoiner.

Roman walks into a bar and stops at a table where Tom, Zhou, Amir, Patrick, Donald, et al., are setting, and ask, "Now can I set at the adult table?"

Most of the pictures are photoshopped and not real, just so you know. However, I think it is human nature to not enjoy holes in the skin.

I freak out when I see photoshopped holes.

13608  Economy / Goods / Re: Whatever you want from INDIA Post here !! on: September 08, 2012, 01:29:56 AM
PT seller, what's good over there?

It just so happens that I know the answer to that question, for I've been to India and came back with three suitcases full of loot: Spices, silver and peacock feathers. I paid about a dime each for the feathers and, during the time (early 90's), I got a buck a piece for them. Spices, you can recognize a 300%+ profit, while silver jewelry you'll see a 300-500% return. As an added bonus, and don't tell Maria, I got to bed two women: A Russian named Olga and an Iranian named Derakhshan (Bombay, now Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, respectively) during my visit abroad.

I'm curious. Does Swiss cheese (obviously the kind with holes) bother you?

No, swiss cheese is fine.  Please do not make such experiments, though.  You'll get as many examples as you want when googling trypophobia.

13610  Other / Off-topic / Re: Really OFF-TOPIC: Trypophobia WARNING: THIS CAN BE DISTURBING on: September 08, 2012, 01:12:48 AM
The holes don't bother me, it's when they are photoshopped onto a human body that it becomes bothersome. Not because of the holes though, but because of the thought of what kind of pain and danger I would be in if I had those holes in my body!
+1

Well, good for you.  I can tell you the first time I realized I can't watch this kind of things, was with a picture of a particular plant.  There was no human skin involved, just the particular shape of this plant was made of a bunch of wholes.  I don't know what plant it is, I don't wanna know, and don't ask me to find one on the internet.  Just thinking about it gives me the creep.  It's a really a weird and surprisingly powerful phobia.

I'm curious. Does Swiss cheese (obviously the kind with holes) bother you?

My apologies if the picture bothers you, it wasn't my intent creep you out! I'm genuinely curious.

Dude, I can't believe you went there, you insensitive bastard! Just for that, your YapCo.in membership has been revoked. Turn in your coins ASAP.

This "phobia" is a bunch of FUD. I watched the video, expecting the worst, and felt nothing. I even got bored halfway through.

Humans are not averse to holes; in fact, there are holes all around us. Our eyes, our nostrils, our ears, are all examples of holes; yet, they are the things located on the face of fellow humans, the part we find most attractive.

Leave it to Dree to somehow include Bruce in the conversation.

13615  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 07, 2012, 08:59:12 PM
Everybody calm down, after three sleepless nights, I think I finally have it all figured out. I must compliment Matthew here on his brillance, his scheme is actually pretty clever.

Matt came up with the bet at the time when everybody, sans select few still in denial, realized that it would take at least a miracle for Pirate to pay out, and he rightfully anticipated that lots of members will join in lured by what it essentaily is, free-money handout. People thought Matt was nuts and made few tasteless jokes at his expense, but make no mistake, he's no idiot, he knew full well that he was going to lose the bet. He also knew that he didn't have required bitcoins but these never had any role in his ingenious plan anyway. Here comes the brilliant part. Matt is secretly gay, he hopes that when it comes to payout, he will be able to subsidize bitcoin with another commodity to make bettors whole, blowjobs. For this reason initial pool of 10k BTC rose to 80k BTC after vigorous testing conducted to make sure Matt can accomodate $900k worth of blowjobs. The lesson is some men will do anything for a chance to choke on bag of dicks.

Just the tip.

Only one spelling error: Blowjobs ---> BlowBobs

I'm going to suggest that it is a ploy for action to be taken against the wrong person. I would say Trenden Shavers is Pirate, and this Don Shrent is meant to take the blame.

Don Shrent is Threndon Sh.....

Neither can Trendon Shavers or Pirateat40 be trusted. Do you know them? Is that your DBA?

Sorry. I don't quite understand what it is that you are trying to imply.

~DonShrents

Yep! Atlas. See clue #17.
13620  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Don Shrents is pirateat40 ? on: September 07, 2012, 08:42:00 PM
I would guess it is a lie, and throw another guess at it being Phinnaeus Gage

I saw him, and it's not me. The mods/admins should be able to confirm that via IP addresses, albeit I'm aware that they can be masked. My guess is that he's just a troll doing it for the lolz. Or maybe it's Atlas doing it as his last hurrah before the US comes a knocking, inquiring about that Mitt leak.

Wait a second! That's exactly what I would pen if I wanted to deflect the attention away from me. But seriously, it's not me.

Wait another second! I bet it's Matthew, hoping to deflect attention away from himself.  Grin
