You guys even got satisfied when he moved 10k or 20k BTC from one address to other I removed it cause I don't remember seeing that at all, and if I didn't see it it's likely a lot of people on the forum didn't see it so it doesn't factor in, cause I read almost all the drama threads when I'm bored on my phone. Almost as good as tv. |

People need to judge each transaction or offer as an individual entity, otherwise the only thing that the "poop rolling down hill" mob mentality will prove in the end is that bitcoin itself, is nothing more than a huge scam and in turn, a complete failure from an economic standpoint.

If compounding and domino-effect fallout were to become the community standard, bitcoin as a whole would prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is nothing more than a pyramid scheme, a Ponzi scam and worst of all, completely centralized because of it's up-stream financial dependencies.
Lucky for us, the underlying mentality and purpose of Bitcoin is STILL "screw the banks" and "be your own bank." If some people want to invest their money with some risky scheme, that really only reflects poorly on the risky scheme, and the people doing the investing. The rest of us will happily continue holding our Bitcoin in safe storages, spending only what we need when we need it. |

I don't think most of Team Ponzi actually thought he was going to pay; it was obvious early on he was not serious. Most bets were placed by people harassed into "putting their money where their mouth is" by shills who spammed several threads and Ponzi scheme victims desperately trying to hedge their exposure. And they're not out any money, so not really as gullible, no. |

Matthew -- to me, your post suggests you have insider knowledge...how else could you know that goat's actions could actually affect pirate paying back his debtors? I mean, there is no obvious reason pirate needs info to pay people back now that he didn't need before... Seems hard to connect the dots without knowing inside stuff...should i be disappointed in you?

No, not as gullible. Pirate "investors" actually *deposited* their coins. MNW bettors only pledged them in a forum statement. On the other hand, it seems Pirate "investors" may have been making financial decisions on the assumption that Matthew will pay out. So there are some people that will have actual non-hypothetical losses if he doesn't pay out but Team Ponzi most likely aren't amongst them. But you and almost everybody believes he will pay. Personally, I've carefully refrained from commenting on whether I think he'll pay or not. There are some good reasons for this which you may be able to spot if you think about the issue. |

Everybody calm down, after three sleepless nights, I think I finally have it all figured out. I must compliment Matthew here on his brillance, his scheme is actually pretty clever.
Matt came up with the bet at the time when everybody, sans select few still in denial, realized that it would take at least a miracle for Pirate to pay out, and he rightfully anticipated that lots of members will join in lured by what it essentaily is, free-money handout. People thought Matt was nuts and made few tasteless jokes at his expense, but make no mistake, he's no idiot, he knew full well that he was going to lose the bet. He also knew that he didn't have required bitcoins but these never had any role in his ingenious plan anyway. Here comes the brilliant part. Matt is secretly gay, he hopes that when it comes to payout, he will be able to subsidize bitcoin with another commodity to make bettors whole, blowjobs. For this reason initial pool of 10k BTC rose to 80k BTC after vigorous testing conducted to make sure Matt can accomodate $900k worth of blowjobs. The lesson is some men will do anything for a chance to choke on bag of dicks.
