13741  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Office: UK vs US version on: February 28, 2014, 06:32:23 PM
I love how the UK version portrays such a grim, dreary picture. It's so realistic that it scares me. It really explores a different side of comedy, not punchlines or silly things like that, but rather the behaviour of certain characters - how desperate Brent is to be loved, such a try hard.

It's very realistic and a lot of people including me wasn't sure whether it was an actual documentary or not. Whilst the US one is meant to be a mockumentary, it isn't realistically filmed in the way of one. It's like they forget about that aspect a lot.

13742  Other / Meta / Re: Using external smileys on: February 28, 2014, 06:29:10 PM
Can I use external images as smileys on my posts here? (example: )

Or should I always use the ones from the forum? (example: Smiley)

Is there any kind of restriction about this?

I can't see why that would be a problem at all, but maybe a bit of a faff for you putting them in all the time.
13743  Other / Meta / Re: Can we get rid of all of these MtGox discussions in Bitcoin Discussion? on: February 28, 2014, 06:27:16 PM
We're trying, they keep making new ones over and over. It's pretty annoying.

You should make a Mtgox discussion thread and sticky it in some forum.

Ha, like newbs would take notice of it. You could probably put 10 identical stickies all in caps warning not to post threads about Gox in there and people still would post them  Grin.
13744  Economy / Services / Re: Dispute on Bit777 & Peerbet Signature Program on: February 28, 2014, 06:19:58 PM
What happened to bit777?
You mean the user bit777 in this forum or casino bit777..? nothing happened to bit777casino apart from casinobitco now acquires bit777

That, and also the sig deal is currently not open and might not actually reopen.

Girl's locker rooms/showers ... no question about it

Seems we've got a bit of a voyeur here. Aren't there websites for this kind of thing any way? haha
13747  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Poll regarding Mark and his money. on: February 28, 2014, 06:07:47 PM
If you are talking about his net worth I'm sure he had well over $5 million just from running MtGox.

Now he's got a 700,000 or more btc bonus too. That's if he is actually committing a crime

How do you know these figures? And I'm not sure if he has committed any crimes - well, unless being guilty of running a shoddy business is a crime  Cheesy.

About his net worth? I don't but given that MtGox is one of the most well-known bitcoin exchanges in the world it definitely generated millions through fees, high traffic and ad revenue. I also heard that he didn't have any employees, just contractors

As far as him pocketing people's BTC, who knows. I don't like to point fingers before I know something for sure. I kinda feel bad for him, he probably has a bounty on his head...it's likely a lot of the shady early adopters from the Silk Road days had their BTCs in Gox

It was one of the most well-known, but people kinda stopped sending money to it a while ago as they couldn't get anything in or out. He's also probably lost a lot of the money in one way or another. I am starting to feel a bit sorry for him. I just think he's a bit clueless. He might be a great programmer but he's not much of a businessman.
13748  Other / Off-topic / Re: There's gonna be a tidal wave/tsunami on: February 28, 2014, 06:05:30 PM
I need to resurrect this thread.  I now stand by my earlier statements, there will be a tsunami on the east coast that will destroy NYC and DC.  It will happen very soon, 2-3 weeks most likely, it could be less, hopefully later but possibly very soon.

The tsunami will NOT be a natural occurrence, it will either be triggered through geo engineered manipulation or a nuke.  And what do you know, a nuke went missing from a silo recently.

If you live near the east coast, I advice you to move away for the next month or so if you can.

Regardless of where you live, everyone needs to prepare for a societal collapse.  Food, water, supplies, as much as you can afford.  The US economy is going to collapse very soon, there will probably be mass blackouts so I would not bargain my money that bitcoin will be around.  Bitcoin served it's purpose, I recommend taking the profits you've made from bitcoin and putting them towards real world consumable items that you can actually make use of.

If you've had this premonition/dream five times and it's failed to happen, what makes you so sure it'll happen this time?
Maybe he had another dream which said his previous one will come true? Cheesy

I can't recall for sure but I may have had a dream of a tsunami actually colliding with a city recently.  I don't remember for sure.  In all my other dreams, a large wave would come but stop at the edge of the door on the beach house, except for when one drop of water came in.

Are you sure you weren’t watch Deep Impact or The Day After Tomorrow or something?  Grin
13749  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: February 28, 2014, 06:01:34 PM
Can we have some clarity on whether the rate is being reduced or whether we are cutting this month now? I dont mind either way but would like to know asap, please.

I'm sure all will be revealed soon. He's probably weighing up his options. He'll have a hard job trying to balance keeping everyone happy and getting his moneys worth out of the minimised sigs I reckon.
13750  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 28, 2014, 05:57:00 PM
Resident Evil

I thought it, along with most of Paul WS Anderson's other movies, sucked ass. Which is really too bad because it could've had a lot of potential!

I thought the first Resident Evil was enjoyable, but the others were pretty crap, and the last one was WTF is actually happening here bad. There's a final one coming out soon I think.
13751  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Office: UK vs US version on: February 28, 2014, 05:54:43 PM
I love the UK version a Hell of a lot better than the US version... I should give it another go!

I don't mind the US one, but nothing compares to the UK one IMO so you can't even compare the two together. They're also two very different styles of comedy. I'll probably watch the entire series at some point as I've only seen the first two seasons and a few other various episodes, but they obviously went for quantity rather than quality I think. Many episodes without any LOL-worthy moments whereas every episode of the UK one is packed full of lolz.

Swindon lot don't seem to respect you.

I couldn't pick a favourite as I have far too many but that is a brilliant one.

13753  Other / Meta / Re: It's Time For Theymos To Kill The Alt Section on: February 28, 2014, 03:53:51 PM
At the very least, give the well established coins, their own sub-section... Litecoin and Namecoin...

The rest? "Well established" should be a very high bar to reach, and IMHO, none of the others have reached it.

=squeak=

Then dogecoin will claim they're established and want their own sections.

If they're that established they will already have their own forums. Most other forums like Litecoin are dead any way. Having one alt coin section is fine and probably wont be going away any way, but asking for changes to it is probably futile.

Haha.

People generally cannot predict time, unless you're the one causing something to happen.  We live in the present so I cannot say when this will happen but I can say that it makes a large amount sense for it to occur during an assemblance at DC.

But I've had this dream over twenty times, I would have it day after day at points and so at some point you need to take a recurring dream as a sign, clearly the universe was clearly telling me something.

It's probably trying to tell you to lay off the weed  Grin.
13755  Other / Off-topic / Re: Western intelligence networks strategize to place “trolls” on the Internet on: February 28, 2014, 03:13:38 PM
i get paid 35k per year to troll on the btc-e trollbox (serious) i believe my employer is mossad

really?
I think he's trolling right now. Undecided

Haha, was gonna say that, but maybe he is just a professional troll. I wonder if the mods get paid over on Btc-e.
Probably or maybe the payment is the satisfaction of trolling others while being staff.

Haha yeah. Powerless bedroom dweller tyrants love to get a little bit of power that they can abuse on the internet.
13756  Other / Off-topic / Re: The offical Mark Karpales lost bitcoins mems and funny pictures. on: February 28, 2014, 03:12:08 PM

Haha, this is genius. Did you make this or just find it?

Haha that's brilliant. Would be funnier if you could see Mark's face in the window flipping you off though haha.
13757  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you were invisible for a day? on: February 28, 2014, 03:08:45 PM
The bible says that every person is a sinner, even the first people on earth - Adam and Eve. Back on topic, I simply can't do something so wrong, no matter the possibility. If I found a pile of cash on the street and a dude asked me to watch it for a minute, I wouldn't take it. My moral standards (and the fact that I'd probably feel so guilty I couldn't sleep) just block such thoughts in my head before even reaching the part where decisions are made.

It's easy to say that now, but you (or others) are not in a situation where your morals are tested. There are people who say they'd never cheat on their partner, and probably meant it at the time, but when a beautiful woman comes along your lust and basic instincts can sometimes take over. You might feel bad before, during and after, but that doesn't mean you might not give in to temptation. Same goes for having access to a pile of cash. It's very easy to proclaim the moral high-ground now, but when it's sitting there in-front of you whilst you're waiting for the guy to come back your mind might start to wander. I think to say otherwise or that you wouldn't be tempted is kinda going against the bible saying that every person is a sinner and can easily be swayed by temptation. I also think the fact that you are admitting that the fear of guilt may come into your mind entertains that taking it could or might be a possibility. And I'm not saying you (or anyone else) would take the money BTW, as there are plenty of good people with morals, whether personal or religious, but I think anyone has the capacity to be swayed or tempted.
13758  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How to pronounce "MtGox"? on: February 28, 2014, 02:46:50 PM
They have always referred to themselves as "MtGox" or "Mt. Gox". According to the logo, the name of the company is MT. GOX. "Mt." is the abbreviation for "mount", so the name is pronounced "Mount Gox". Despite that, I vote to change the name to "Empty Gox".

Their logo says one thing but the origin of it insinuates another. Then again, Mark doesn't seem the brightest businessman in the world. Is there any interview where the name of the company has come out of his mouth? I want to see how he pronounces it.

welcome to Bitcoin Heaven
Why heaven? More like Bitcoin Pit since most are constantly fighting with each other.

Surely Bitcoin Hell would be more appropriate. I'd say it's more like purgatory though; a lot of good and a lot of bad and people can go either way  Grin.
Well, hell might be a bit overkill. A purgatory is probably a bit too much as well. There are good people, just not lots of them.

So it's more like the real world then and practically every other forum on the internet.
13760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: right way to invest on: February 28, 2014, 02:36:12 PM
It's a currency first and foremost, but people are treating it as an investment, but like all investments, it's risky. People soon found out it's not the magical money making get rich quick scheme they thought it was with these recent crashes.

In this early phase it's an investment. Up until Bitcoin will be used by the majority, it'll remain a risky currency with big price fluctuations, scammers in the community and so on...

In this early phase it's a currency and will be in the future. It also doesn't fluctuate. 1 Bitcoin is always worth a Bitcoin. What people pay for it in cash is another matter, and those people might be planning on it as an investment, but it's still first and foremost a currency. Scammers doesn't make it a big risk. Plenty of scammers in the real world scamming for fiat currency more than there is Bitcoin.
