Thanks KnC for lying about the network protection.

they didn't lie,  they showed concern.. let it unfold and see

they aren't ASIC gods that can turn your whine into money

I disagree.  The ASIC game is now in their court and the bottom line is shipping to such a heavily populated area will damage those that invested in their NRE costs.  Seems like a kick in the face.

I'm sick of whining too.  I was heavily invested in BFL.  I am just sick of getting fucked over.  Completely fucking sick of it.  I can't catch a break.  I don't want to make just enough so I have to spend it all on next-generation as well.  It does sound like this KnC China endeavor will be REALLY bad for us.  Wonderful for KnC I guess...

Everybody is just so god damn greedy.  I am tired of the rat race.

..and they did say that they would not be selling rigs over winter if other companies didn't ..which despite being nonsense is the exact opposite of what they are doing in China, couldn't find a place more likely to flood the market than China. I'd put money on the whole mfg and logistics over there being much more efficient too.

KnC should hire that guy with the husky voice that does movie trailers and make a video ad.

They have all the elements going for him to whisper, " An epic journey into the unknown, share the joy, weep at the deception, see the race against time, feel the suspense, marvel at their speed,  live the fear, see the dynamic explosions, heaven or hell...how will it all end?"

I'm dreading my box turning up now after reading all these last few pages today. Anything could happen.

The unit at my home is hashing perfectly.   around 550 for a full 24 hours.

Good to hear. Smiley Hope it stays that way, that's what we all expected after all ...the hashing perfectly part.

They were probably safeguards/margins in case some terminals did not work. In any case, no one promised 6 ports. I expect to be able to upgrade Saturn to Jupiter, but not further.
AHEM! This photo is what they describe as their controller board and you see 1 2 3 4 5 6
 https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-39
Yes, you see them on a picture describing the slogan. It does not say anywhere that all 6 will be in use.

I am more worried about those capacitors. Everything else seems like nitpicking.
So you don't care if they sell 7000 Jupiters in China in the next month or two? Maybe in China they have another bitcoin, unrelated to the one you mine?

KNC promised to take care of the customers who gave them a free loan of millions to start their business. This ^ does not do that.

I will admit I was pretty annoyed when I seen them open a Chinese version of the website.  I take it the network protection statement means nothing now?

On the flipside, how many Chinese can actually afford these miners?

Fucking millions. They aren't all riding bikes in coolie hats these days. In my local uni there are 5 to 10 thousand chinese students and coming to live here to study for 4 years with no finance isn't cheap. They are a long way from poor.

China will be massive. Bitcoins are a lot more useful for them than for us. Remember the gold mining farms they used to run?

Check the ratio of mercs bought , China almost equal to the US and it's same for all luxury car makers. They have loads of cash to spend http://www.autoblog.com/2013/10/05/mercedes-september-sales-best-in-87-years/

So, we're about half way through the oct 15th batch, production didn't really get going for a couple of days, and has now done so..with about 30 assembly benches (sorry, can't make that bit of wood on a trolley sound as good as KnC do  Cheesy ) ...looks like the 15th deadline is possible given they will be getting better at it by now ? Couriers permitting of course.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 12:54:52 PM
Hey KNC/Bitcoinorama. It's time for an update.

You are still shipping orders 1-750 (or at least the first 750 units regardless of order number). The original deadline for shipping ALLLLLL units was October 15th.

That means in the next 4 working days you have to produce and ship 3000+ orders (ballpark figure).

That's not going to happen.

It's about time we had a proper update, with adjusted and REALISTIC shipping schedule, based on the state of play at the production facility.

Your pride seems too wounded to tell us why it's taken 9 days and still only shipping day1 units, rather than the thousands that were promised by now.

This "we'll sort it ourselves, we won't say anything until it's done" attitude is costing everyone time, money and unnecessary stress.

Drop the wounded pride/ego and honestly update us.

There are a lot of brilliant people on this forum who could and will help if you allow them in.

+1
Spot on.

Trying to sell more when day 1 orders are either not delivered or customers are bug testing the plug and play ones that have got to them ?

Can't say they are predictable can you?

I found this after work :

Dammit, I hate UPS !!!
I never received a call and never called them.
It's too late now to call, I hope that it isn't an other person that is trying to get my miners !

Day 2, Order 7x, Paid 3 June, Received today in France.
Somebody tried to collect my packages at the UPS center.
Fortunately UPS asked for an ID and he just went away. Be careful !

Holy fuck! How the hell could somebody know you were going to receive the miners? Any clue on which was the attack vector? We should rule out that is somebody inside UPS Sweden who knows what's going on and giving the heads up to others..

More likely the driver left a card, maybe someone took that or maybe left it at the wrong address? I've had that happen several times with couriers.
1390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 09:54:30 AM
Just received my third Jupiter (Australia).

to give some indication on order #/payment date

Order #: 10XX - Payment Date: 6/5/13 - Ship Date: Oct 3rd - Received Date: Oct 8th
Order #: 10XX - Payment Date: 6/5/13 - Ship Date: Oct 3rd - Received Date: Oct 8th
Order #: 14XX - Payment Date: 6/10/13 - Ship Date: Oct 4th - Received Date: Oct 9th

I was in 1-500 group for a very low order # in that initial range prior to actual orders.

Edit: Also in regards to condition after about 8 different stops on their journey, total 'damage' 1 fan fallen off  Grin

I am second day June 4 with order number 8xx..still in progress ...anyone else in the same boat?

i am also day 2 #16xx in progress from monday

reply from KnC yesterday:
The production of your order is almost finalized.

We will get back to you with shipping information shortly.

This is getting ridiculous, the guy quoted had late orders and paid late and got his orders "received" not shipped but received before me ....i don't know how they are shipping but this seem to me a queue jump.....i ma unable to understand there logic or queue order....

This may sound crazy, but 5/6 means something very different to me and to a Swede than to an american. To me that's 5th June, but in america it's 6th may? So 6/7 would be 7th june one way and 6th july the other?

I can't see any way they can be following any kind of order that leaves day 1 and 2 paid orders behind otherwise. I wonder how many or what % they have produced so far? That would be handy to get an idea. Also, maybe type of rig might come into it? Producing them in batches of one type maybe?
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 07:13:19 AM
So where do you guys place Bitfury in terms of delivering on promise schedule as per them Huh

That issue in terms of 'delivery" has a harsh meaning to us former BFL customers (probably down 8K) I ordered my stuff in April 2013 (the same month KNC became a company and posted such)...and it is still gonna be 3 weeks at best for my 65gh from BFL (sorry I digress)

So if I remember right "Bitfury" may be legitimate as heck...but I don't think they take Paypal , Paypal with credit cards nor do they I think take regular credit cards like KNC ...so once burnt I'll stay away till such happens..I did a bank xfer with BFL and could have easily gotten my $$$ back by reversing charges at this point...but w/o a credit card or even using your banks debit card (usually have a cc mine is backed by visa) .....I am crap out of luck....

I'm not gonna play that game ever again ...so learn from my mistakes..only pay by credit card.....look at TerraHash as far as I can determine the chip maker was at fault and did not get him the chips ..I think it was Avalon...so even if the mnfg is legit stuff can still happen where  you hold the bag.

IMHO the asic mnfg companies are gonna have to step it up and do as KNC has done at least paypal with cc and direct cc payment as well.

on a side note people tout Cointerra ...and cointerra flaunts the fact it has high tech people and big money behind their product (not harsh I wish them luck) but for asic mining companies to blow smoke and say they can't get paypal or cc options for their customers is a bunch of hoohey

KNC got cc direct payment visa master card and paypal  and got the paypal cc option like 1 month after they STARTED the company and a couple months later got direct cc payment

and KNC has only existed maybe 6 months...

anyway to me it smells that so many 'choose' not to have paypal or cc options imho..want you to have ALL the risk...

so will stay away from anything that is not KNC  who has stated they can't get  cc options  or paypal imho...for the time being I'd rather wait on KNC

and of course anyone reading this does not know about BFL google them ..you will see to run away....they take paypal but don't deliver for more then 1yr

anyway

live an learn from my mistake

my 2c worth
Searing

I see this statement an awful lot... "I will only use a credit card to buy ASIC miners."

Huh

So what good are Bitcoins if the people who mine them won't even use them to make purchases?!  It sounds like we don't really have a need for BTC.  Credit cards are good enough, apparently.

If and when ASICs are like other items and can be bought off the shelf, using BTC will be fine. It's just too risky buying them at all right now so CC makes more sense for protection. Cash would be the same if you were buying something that might go tits up like a holiday. In fact, buying something with cash vs CC which gets you added protection is the same thing ..risk eliminated for no extra cost.
It's not bitcoin that needs to change it's the risky model we have for selling ASICs. Too many large losses aren't there? Sad
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 04:59:41 AM
Exactly.... Engineers, not front line shipping managers.  Killing things compared to bfl and Avalon so far.  No reasons to really complain (yet)

The thing I really can't understand is why, with millions in hand in the bank, they didn't just hire a guy that was a logistics specialist? Short term contract, a few grand. That way they get to concentrate on the things they are expert on. Same for hosting. Save such a lot of hassle and learn for the future.

It really is a shame.  Especially when they said they knew time was everything in this business.  Somebody, somewhere cheapened out again.

Yes still way ahead of BFL but it is coming down to the wire now where one month delays are catastrophic.  We can't afford the type of delays BFL put us through anymore otherwise we should all just hang up our hats.  Things are going to get really ugly by November, December and beyond.

Agreed. People compare everything to BFL, but that's like saying Saddam was a good guy 'cos he didn't murder as many people are Hitler.

Yeah, they are making an honest effort, it's probably hard for them to admit basic things went/ are going  wrong. Shit timing for us who have exact dates in our heads which we really shouldn't expect from a small company doing this on the fly for the 1st time. Could be a lot worse , we all know that Wink
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 03:36:49 AM
Ok, thanks. No idea what the hold up is on getting these out. The silence from them is deafening.

I think it's simple. They didn't have a realistic idea of production times, never done it before. The "hashing within hours" for hosted rigs always sounded silly to me for example..if all went well they'd have to set up hundreds of machines from scratch, simple stuff like unpacking, checking for loose stuff, physically moving them to their correct rack and that kind of stuff takes time. Same goes for hosting, maybe they estimated the time that would take wrongly..should have started earlier? Add a few bad chips or other problems that need sorting individually...to find the good and bad...and it all gangs up on you to put you behind.

It's the old piss poor planning idiom at the end of the day. There's more to selling products than getting one rig working quickly and flooding the web with yourself backslapping and celebrating.

The guy going to pick up his rig and not being allowed to go and get it at the facility spoke volumes to me, if that were my place and I was proud of the performance and set up I'd be inviting such a customer to come and get his rig and report back on how well it was going. My guess is that he'd have found several headless chickens if he went so they packed him off home pissed off and rigless...to save face.

The delays are part of production and understandable, the lies and silence..they are not.

I wish they'd sent one of the cgminer devs a rig, even a Mercury would have done, instead of that couple in the documentary. We'd maybe be in a happier place now.

KnC ..each day, a week apart.
1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 12:33:04 PM
KnC ....u guys are amaze me !!!

To see a company deliver on time (a couple of days late  anyways Cheesy ) compared to the total scam/cluster fuck that is CONMASTERS INC @ BFL & then their prodigy love child AVA ( I FUCK U WHITE DOGS) LON

Even offereing compensation for the slight delay on the hosted units like W...T...F..

Josh read this monkey boy .....

KnC thanks you for deliverying us from the evil that if BFl & thier biatch AVALON

You guys are going to totally own crypto if u keep this up like white on rice

AWESOME

When you consider the teething troubles now are a learning experience and this was 1st shot at this for them, so next time they'll be wiser and better....other companies have a mountain to climb to match KnC from now on...why would anyone take the risk with someone like BFL when you compare histories with KnC? There's no comparison at all.

It's not just the rigs that KnC have done miners a favour with, the whole industry now needs to change to stay in business which benefits us massively. No room for cowboys anymore is there? Smiley
1398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 11:29:28 AM
I'd guess that they found that they can't build them as fast as they thought so they amended the Nov date on the site. Fair enough, best to be honest. Doesn't bode too well for Oct 15th if that's the case though.
1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 08:05:11 PM
What a load of bollocks, packaging experts don't add anything other than this air. They add polystyrene balls, air filled polythene bags, shredded cardboard,  lots of shock absorbing products made specifically to stop contents being damaged.

To date, Orama has been an invaluable source of honest information for us all here and I am grateful for all hes taken the time to do which he didn't have to.
All change now though, can't criticise the company in your new job really can you? Cant expect that. Company spokesman has to be his role now.

Glad he's got the job and is loving it, and I hope it only gets better. Well deserved. Best of luck dude. Smiley

WTF happened to his rig? Seems to have been lost like tears in rain? lol
1400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 11:24:06 AM
I'm wondering. Assuming you add/change fans ..then your rig fries or otherwise breaks. Won't you have invalidated the warranty ?
