4. Proper quoting and linking sources to avoid plagiarism
I really understand about plagiarism will lead you get banned because this forum has zero tolerance against that. But after I read this one proper quoting and linking source aren't need to avoid plagiarism in this forum Huh

That's user just write he took it from someone article without linking the source and he's not get banned! There's a user saying, it just a bad citation and he has no intention to plagiarism it, so he's free. Although it's true, but it's still on grey area if it's completely 100% allowed or the moderators will ban him if he's keep repeating same mistake for not linking the original sources.

There's someone get exposed if he was plagiarism for 7 posts, the thing is the account still active until now without receiving any punishment Roll Eyes

Avoid bumping threads that has not been posted for a long time.

They're not follwing this warning when they try to reply on a thread that has been quite for long time.
Quote from: z
Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.
It's true, but I think it's mostly a newbie who bump an old thread without any reason.

I'm more concerned with many old users doesn't use their eyes to see the date of the thread and the last replies, when someone already replying to the old thread, you wouldn't see any warning message  again. So there are a lot users only read the last reply and continue to make post, if they use their eyes, they will know to avoid the thread and just use report to moderator to delete the recent reply or lock the thread.

1385  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tether and BUSD and usd inflation for long term savings? on: January 29, 2023, 08:41:46 AM
Any kind of stable coins are stick with fiat value e.g. USD, Euro, Yuan etc and it doesn't make sense to hold for long term amount because fiat is inflationary asset. If you hold any stable coins e.g. BUSD, USDT, real USD, real EURO etc the price is always $1 but every year the value will keep decrease since $1 right now is worth for 10 candies but the next 2 years your $1 is only worth for $7 candies.

If you have purpose to convert your domestic fiat to USD or EURO because your domestic fiat's inflation is really high, it's better for you to convert it to gold. Gold is a store of value and it doesn't make you rich, but it can secure your wealth. But I hold Bitcoin because it's really safe and secure, also it's really have a bright future.
1386  Other / Beginners & Help / [INFO] 3 Frequent mistakes done by forum members. on: January 29, 2023, 08:36:14 AM
I'm aware if this kind this has been discussed before in the past, but I think it's need repetition since I see many users in this forum still not care with these mistakes:

1. Compress your image to make it lighter and resize your image.
You don't need to upload your heavy image which will make people need to wait more longer to see the image properly. You can compress your image in very simple and fast, just upload your image in this site https://tinypng.com/ and then download it after it's completed.

When you have upload your image to third party hosting image e.g. imgbb or imgur and copy the BBCode in your post, make sure you click the preview first and if the image is really big and it make your screen is full with your image alone, just use "width=400" or "height=400" don't need to use width and height in the same image since it would make the image looks really terrible.

Code:
[img width=400]https://[/img]

2. Quote only the part you want to reply.
Many users still quoting someone post in full, moreover they're don't care to delete the previous quoted text which can make it look like a pyramid. There's no need to quote previous quoted if you're only want to reply the latest post, I don't think any user will read the previous quote since it's quite hard to read especially it's full of text. If you're still don't quite understand about BBCode, you can learn it from this thread [TIPS] to avoid pyramid quotes (for Newbies)

Quote from: z
Quote from: y
Quote from: x
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
Cras cursus pulvinar magna, et efficitur augue tristique vel.
Aliquam maximus tortor vitae cursus dictum.
Code:
[quote=z][quote=y][quote=x]Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. [/quote]
Cras cursus pulvinar magna, et efficitur augue tristique vel.[/quote]
Aliquam maximus tortor vitae cursus dictum.[/quote]

Make it shorter

Quote from: z
Aliquam maximus tortor vitae cursus dictum.
Code:
[quote=z]Aliquam maximus tortor vitae cursus dictum.[/quote]

3. Familiarize to use report to moderator button, not only giving advice to the @OP
Giving advice to the @OP about his mistake isn't wrong, but most of the @OP aren't care to comeback to their own thread and continue to discuss, most of them only abandon it. Some of the advice like:
  • Move this topic to x section
  • Lock this topic to prevent from spam
  • Posting in a row isn't allowed

If you not report the post and only wait the @OP to correct his mistake, only 10% will do it.

4. Proper quoting and linking sources to avoid plagiarism

Plagiarism will lead to a ban of your Bitcointalk account because it's against Bitcointalk's forum rules:

33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.[e]
[e]33. This includes both copying parts or the entirety of other users' posts or threads and copying content from external sources (e.g. other websites) and passing it as your own.

Plagiarism (not marking copied content writen by other people) is not allowed and is a strong offense leading to a ban if you do it. Chances to get your account back are very low.
So please be careful and don't plagiarize by paying attention to:

  • When copy-pasting content from sources outside the forum (Twitter, News etc) you need to provide a link to the original source. In addition, you should use the "quote" function to show that it's not your original content:
    Quote
  • If you find helpful information on Bitcointalk, it is sufficient if you simply quote this message directly. Each message can be quoted with a function in the upper right corner (next to +Merit), as long as it is not a locked topic. If it should be locked, copy the text, put it in quote and add the link to this message. You can get the link to the respective message by clicking on the title of the message (Re:...) and then copying it as url.
  • For translated contend, please ask the original poster for consent or at least add a link above the translated part, to show that it is not your original work.
  • If you have copied a longer text from a different website, you should add the link above the content to show in advance, where the content is copied from.
  • Don't copy useless Shitposts for Signature Spam.
  • If suitable, you can also add quotation marks (" ") and / or italic letters.

Criminals investigation Offensed following Convinced against Ross Ulbricht

  • Engaging in a continuing Criminal Enterprise
  • Distributing Narcotics
  • Distributing Narcotics by means of the internet
  • Money laundering
  • Conspiring to traffic to False identity
  • Conspiring to Commit Computer Hacking

Ref: Ross Ulbricht Wiki
It's funny how you use Wikipedia as your main source to gather the information on controversial story. Wikipedia is get manipulated since the information listed on there are based on vote and people who have power. If there's a Wikipedia's user add a real story where it's against the government's decision, he might get targeted by FBI and he will suspect as spreading fake information and conspiracy.

You can read below where Ross Ulbricht is actually not a bad person and don't have any intention to harm any people, it depends on each people who use his free market. Actually anything in this world isn't actually all good and all bad, there's always bad in good and there's always good in bad.

Fiat, Bitcoin or any currency, you can use it for a good thing like charity, donation etc, but you can also use it to pay for murders.

Become a president, you have full control to develop your country to become better, but you can also bribe anyone to corrupt a lot money.

Narcotics, it can kill you if you use it overdose since it's addictive, but it can be used for medical purpose.

Anonymity, privacy is really important to prevent from getting traced and to live peacefully, but the government thing we're criminal who done illegal things.

Ross Ulbricht isn't deserve to get jailed, but the people who take advantage over the free market is the one who should get jailed!

“Ross paid to have people killed”
False. Amplified through inaccurate and sensationalized reporting, these allegations were used to deny Ross bail, smear him in the media, bias his jurors and justify the life sentence he ultimately received.

Some people overdosed from drugs bought on Silk Road and this was presented to Ross’s jury at trial”
False. This allegation was never charged at trial or presented to jurors. Ross was never prosecuted for causing harm or bodily injury and no victim was named at trial.

“The book ‘American Kingpin’ is well-researched, accurate and the real story”
False. It is not the real story by any means. This book is sensationalized and fictionalized and is a one-sided narrative. It was written to be a page turner, so the author took liberties, with little regard for truth and accuracy.

“Ross is a drug kingpin”
False. Ross is a website creator, not a kingpin. He did not store, transport or have contact with any of the legal or illegal items sold on the website. He had no relationship with the sellers and no influence over prices.

“Silk Road allowed the sale of child porn, human organs, hitmen and other violent services”
False. Even the government never alleged this. Silk Road was a free market based on the libertarian non-aggression principle.

“Ross was offered a 10-year plea deal and rejected it”
False. First, prosecutors made no written offer. Second, the verbal offer prosecutors extended to Ross was that, if he pled guilty to the conspiracy charges he was arrested for, he would face 10 years to life imprisonment. However, they made it clear they would argue for a life sentence with his sentencing judge.

“Ross was the only one running Silk Road”
False. The prosecution claimed that Ross controlled Silk Road from start to finish and was the only person behind the accounts of the top administrator, “Dread Pirate Roberts” (DPR, a character from The Princess Bride, who passed his name and identity on to his successors).

“Ross got a fair trial.”
False. Many organizations and individuals have voiced concerns over Ross’s trial. It was full of due process violations,

“Silk Road was created to sell illegal drugs”
False. Silk Road was created as a libertarian free market, not as a drug market.

Ross created Silk Road for financial gain.”
False. Ross was a young libertarian who wanted to provide the experience of a truly free market.
1389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know any laptop wallets that have Google 2FA login? on: January 26, 2023, 02:52:58 PM
There's a lot desktop wallet support multi currency and have second layer security e.g. 2FA, password, PIN etc.

But the thing is those wallet is closed source and not recommended to hold for large amount or long time.

Also what did you mean from the exchanges? are you looking for wallet have integration with those exchanges? Safepal or Trustwallet are integrated with Binance as the internal exchange.

1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 25, 2023, 02:56:28 PM
Here's today football transfer rumors, the big rumors are:
1. Cedric Soares from Arsenal to Fulham
2. Marcos Leonardo from Santos to West Ham
3. Anthony Gordon from Everton to Newcastle
4. Moises Caicedo from Brighton to Arsenal
5. Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea to Newcastle

It looks like Newcastle is really serious now to bought a good players because they're currently at 3rd position on Premier League, so they wouldn't want to get kicked and stay in middle range just like the other previous season from 7th position to 12th position. If Newcastle can able to reach at least 4th position on Premier League until the end season, it surely will bring a new color on the Europe League.

1392  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: January 25, 2023, 02:44:34 PM
I think Rollbit is the most unique casino where there are a lot features where the other competitors doesn't have it.

It's started from the crypto future trading, NFT marketplace, clans, bonus battles, RLB lottery, jackpot, and offering partnership program for the streamer. When metaverse is hyping, I believe Rollbit will launch their own metaverse.

During exploring the site, I see there's daily bonuses of each account, someone which hide his username receive $26K daily bonuses! how crazy it is Rollbit give daily bonuses for such large amount. How much is exactly the calculation of the daily bonus is? anyone know?

1394  Other / Meta / Re: Why as a community we are not active on Youtube? on: January 25, 2023, 02:11:37 PM
What I am asking is an official Youtube channel of Bitcointalk after all Youtube is known as the second biggest search engine after Google.
If you mean creating a video in youtube channel will gain more traffic and attract new people rather than this forum, there's no purpose to posting in this forum anymore since youtube is better than this forum.

I don't think it will work because Bitcointalk channel will have very small subscriber and educational video wouldn't become popular like youtuber which create video about clickbait trading and make thousand dollars in less than a hour etc.

However I think this person already explain very good about shitcoins, NFT, centralization and other Bitcoin enemies.
1395  Other / Meta / Re: Why as a community we are not active on Youtube? on: January 25, 2023, 01:59:23 PM
We already have it TheBitcoinTalkShow - 5 feb - Bitcointalk was hacked although it's an unofficial Bitcointalk youtube channel.

The reason why the Bitcointalk youtube channel is may likely lack of presenter, all of the 5 videos are have same presenter, maybe he's busy enough. Do you want to volunteering become the presenter?

Thanks for the quick response. Before, i thought that was an important part of this forum. Ok, i will report the PM now. But, why is there no negative trust on the account? it makes it seem as though the message and platform are legit.
I already give negative feedback and flagged the account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3087
1399  Other / Meta / Re: [ASK] Does this forum really have its own wallet platform? on: January 25, 2023, 12:19:03 PM
It's scam, this is what the looks on that's site, that's person clone this forum.

Few reasons why it's scam:
1. There's no my name below Bitcoin Forum.
2. There's no reply, watch, notify, mark unread, and print button.
3. The thread isn't locked, but there's no quote button.
4. The trust +27 isn't show in green color.
