13982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: any way to get a couple mBTC for free? on: July 17, 2014, 07:50:44 PM
you can mine..

it's not profitable but you can get some mBTC

you can do faucets,PTC, there was some chatroom that paid mBTC, it paid good actually..

can't remember its name..

There are many variables... just saying mining is not profitable is a bad general statement.

With low electricity cost's I am profitable on everything currently (or on way on a few).  Only thing I had to stop was GPU mining because of summer heat was no longer profitable.  Everyone should do own calculations.

that's true

I assumed the OP doesn't have any mining equipment and would mine with an average GPU
I'm assuming that would be unprofitable? Cheesy

Ahhh i can see what you meant now Smiley i thought you were saying not profitable for anyone.

Very true on GPU's for most sadly.

A mod should edit out the site of posts, we really don't need someone else following and downloading it.

Be very careful with .exe and scrypts you use on a computer you have a wallet.  You will notice on my SF-28 miner 1 hour restart batch file i make you compile it yourself in my silverfish miner thread.  I don't provide it as a download so you can see what it does.

Any batch, exe, or any file that can execute be very careful.  Sorry to hear about your loss.

Buy or mine are 2 best options.

13987  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group]1399$ for dragon 1T bitcoin miner on: July 17, 2014, 06:44:57 PM
The price on the A2s is way to high now. Gaw has them for 1/2 that price.

Gaw miners (assuming one's I think your talking about) are not equal as far as power usage.   The A2-30 compared to falcon is about 1/3 of power usage approx and a few more MHz.
13988  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ecological problem on: July 17, 2014, 05:35:45 AM
Hello everyone! I'm trying to learn more about BTC and as I understand, it constantly needs an energy for mining, which sounds not so much ecologically. It's getting popular, so more miners - more energy, right? Is there any ways to reduce this harmful effect? Or maybe create an eco-friendly version of BTC?

Somebody needs to invent solar powered mining rigs sometime. Tongue But, seriously, I recently heard that there's an altcoin called Groestlcoin that's supposed to be more efficient for miners or something. (Actually I was mining it on my desktop computer which doesn't have a great hashrate compared to most mining rigs last weekend, and I actually found a couple of blocks!)

But I like that you thought of that. Maybe the people who complain about the high electricity cost of mining should use some of the Bitcoin they earn that way to install some solar panels.

There have been one or two posted before in mining rigs post in hardware.

Problem for most is it's a high entry fee to get lot's of "eco-friendly" power compared to regular power.

13991  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is the p. computer i'm buying capable to mine or not ? on: July 16, 2014, 08:11:28 AM
i'm buying this computer next week  Grin

LENOVO Z510:
          * i7
          * 8Go
          * Nvidia GeForce GT 740M  2 Go like a GPU.

i"d like to know how mush its mining speed in MHash/s gonna be!

i'm afraid i won't be able to mine with it  Cry Undecided Undecided

It looks like a good computer sadly most recommend not to mine with laptop's it just is not worth it.

Look int asic equipment as mentioned.  Depending on budget really picks where is best for you to start.
13992  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. W on: July 16, 2014, 07:46:59 AM
Damn what a bunch of fraudsters glad I saw this before going to gamble my bitcoins at there site, very unprofessional.

We made all payouts with a bit delay, but everybody finally got paid and payouts was not bad.

NOT REALLY !!! A lot of people are unpaid as of yet.

Who?

At this point its hard to say.  I believe I was 10 + days in campaign PM'ing you, posted as told.  I never got paid.

If you go through thread you will see MANY MANY people who ended up just removing their self from campaign as you never paid.  It could be argued it was mismanaged and not a scam.  Either way lots were not paid.

Personally it would not surprise me if this hurts you with bitcoin foundation for what it's worth.  Googling your company now comes up with many not so good post's (asking when payment, no payment, lack of communication, etc) in this 100 plus page forum.
13993  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB HUB HELP! on: July 16, 2014, 07:28:36 AM
Hello, Can anyone tell me, in simple language how to run 2 powered hub. How do I connect them so they all mine the same pool? Total newbie! Just got a 10 port powered hub and have a 13 port powered hub on the way. Got a good deal. Will be running U2 Antminers. I keep reading but I can't find any details for stupid little old ladies. Can someone please help ! ? ! Thanks ! God Bless and Best Wishes.......Sandy

I suggest reading some guides for mining with usb.  Also look into hubs for mining, it takes a certain amount of power for USB miners not all hubs mine the amount of ports.  It takes a certain amount of power per USB miner (varies depending on miner).
13994  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: buterfly labs HW erors 10% on: July 16, 2014, 02:23:02 AM
God no.  Is BFL even selling it's 65-nm gear anymore?

My suggestion: RMA that bad boy!

Yes... they are still selling some of it.  Who's buying I have no idea.  I think they are down to the jalapeno one now in stock.  So I'm guessing just selling stock they have of them.
13995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to boost activity on: July 15, 2014, 10:20:07 PM
I thought the 360 second rule goes away with 15 activity

I just posted 2 posts at these times

And while trying to post a new post I get the 360 second rule again, wtf Cheesy

It's to prevent spamming.

And no way to really boost as so many said.  If it could be boosted it would not mean much.
13996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin calculation profitability on: July 15, 2014, 10:14:35 PM
Mind if i ask where are you getting 0.04$ per kw/h?  I love that number for electricity.
13997  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to mine using my laptop on: July 15, 2014, 10:08:28 PM
Yes, laptop repair is equally difficult as video-card repair and equally easy to RMA. ASUS X550 NL wih Nvidia 840M is in a 400$ price range with 2 years warranty. Why should I avoid mining with it, if I get fan replacement when it fails? Distribution of mining on more small miners is much better for cryptocurrencies and here existing GPUs, desktops, laptops are taking place.

The difference is most miners with desktops have multiple cards so they are down a card, not a entire machine.  Plus depending on GPU company their RMA policy's can be pretty amazing. They were not meant for miners.

For most mining does not make sense with a laptop.  Mine with it and i think after disappointment of earnings from one GPU come back and update us.  I don't like it but sadly for a lot of people including myself GPU days of mining are dead.   I shutdown all of my GPU rigs beginning of summer.
13998  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ADVICE - Anyone running a Dragon Miner on a 192.168.0.xxx setting ??? on: July 15, 2014, 10:01:04 PM
Have you tried gateway IP, and Miner IP both with the .0. ?   I personally have not tried with .0. but those are the settings that would have to be changed to get it to work.  And you can check subnet mask with ipconfig on windows just to make sure it's proper number.
13999  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ideal Mining Entry Point? on: July 15, 2014, 09:57:11 PM
There is no ideal number.  It is more to do with what you want to spend.  I suggest only looking at items currently shipping, don't go pre-orders.

Some might buy 1 miner and other's buy 10.  Just different strokes for different folks.

Profitability no one can promise.  Depends on electricity price, price of miner.  One of the biggest things though is electricity price.  If to high look into hosting.
