So, if Yifu offers refunds, should we have a vote upon whether or not to request one?

The problem is, some of us have already paid for assembly.

And our batch is very early in the game; likely to get our chips soon, which may still salvage ROI.

One can hope at least.

I'll invest 50xpm

Me too, if I am not too late.

My XPMs are just lying there. Even if I make a small return at least I will make something.

As Marple said earlier (but it bears repeating), you may not make anything. In fact, you might lose something (or all). Only invest what you're willing to lose.

Hi,

Currently I am operating a bot that works in the XPM/BTC market. It is working since 11 days and is netting approx 2% per day (XPM).

It is working with a very small amount and hasn't been tested with larger sums, so this is why I am posting here.

I am looking for investors that are willing to invest a minimum of 25XPM so that I am able to test the scalability of the bot.
The first round will be capped at 1000 XPM.

The test will last 14 days after which your money will be returned plus the profit (or god forbid minus the loss). Every day an update will be posted showing the trading results of the bot, like the one below.

When you are interested reply to this post and I will contact you for the details.

Why should you invest?
  • A 2% return a day is not bad at all.
  • When the fund opens up for more investors I will be charging a management fee. First round investors will never be charged.
  • The bot will - when large enough - create better market liquidity. You will need a lot more XPM to manipulate the market.

Why am I asking for investors?
  • To spread the risk. Although the bot is working now, it is not said that when more money is added it will continue to work.
  • To spread wealth a little. Let some people profit who would otherwise not be able to.

How do we know this isn't scam 1,000,001?
Standard answer is You can't. So when you are interested only spent a few coins and only coins that you can afford to lose.
You can always contact me via PM on this board and I am a pro trader on mcxNow.com and often to be found in their troll box.

What will happen after 14 days?
When the test period if over your coins will be refunded plus profit or minus the loss. I will then start a next round of testing for another 14 days with approx 5,000 XPM. When that test also succeeds I will open the bot to the general public. As investor in the first round you will never be charged management fees for CryptoBot. As an early investor you also have priority for consecutive rounds.

Can I have my money back before the 14 days are over?
No you cannot. Only when it turns out that the bot is not handling the increased volume well, I will abort the test and refund all investors.

Is it possible to lose my complete investment?
Yes it is possible, but the way the bot is programmed it is very unlikely. Nonetheless you should only invest money that you can afford to lose.

What algorithm are you using?
Unfortunately I cannot disclose that information, because by doing so I would render the bot useless.

I have a question which i cannot find an answer to in this FAQ.
Just pop me a PM, reply to this post, find me in the chat of mcxNOW.com. I will come back to you ASAP.

Quoting (and signing) for posterity. Smiley

I find this idea incredibly intriguing and have been considering something like this myself. I have a lot of ideas but lack all of the pieces to bring those ideas together in a timely fashion. Some questions though...

I realize that sharing it would most likely negate its effectiveness, but it sure would be nice to know the types of things the algorithm is looking at and doing.

Are there stop losses in place? Does it trade across exchanges and take advantage of arbitrage if profitable?

Can you also give us a little background on your expertise and capabilities?

I'm sort of split 50/50 on wanting you to share this or not wanting you to share it, as any sharing may reduce the bot's effectiveness (and I obviously would want it to have maximum effectiveness were I to invest).

Anyway, good on you for bringing it here and not just sitting on it yourself. Subscribed for updates.

As much as i would like to tell you about the bot I will not do so. Because a smart person might even from the slightest information get an idea of making a copy cat. I can tell you however that it is purely based on price action and it using stop losses yes. I am not a big believer in moving averages, Bollinger bands etc when it comes to crypto. Liquidity is just too low for it to work IMO.

It is not using arbitrage, that might be added in a future version to increase profitability.

About myself. I am an engineer by trade and currently running a consultancy business for functional safety in the automotive industry. Before I started that I used to be the business unit manager of a trading education website which I built from scratch. Before that I was a software engineer.

Because I very much like everything about economics I have always been very in trading all kind of stuff and that combined with loving to code I build trading bots Smiley

I hope this answers your questions.

That's about as much as I would expect you to share, if not perhaps a little more. Thanks for the prompt and transparent response.

I am back and will be making an announcement regarding many things that occurred while I was away.  Please be patient as I'm still settling back in and have a lot to do.

I, for one, would actually be willing to send the second dividend back if there was some way of assuring that everyone would do the same. In the grand scheme of things, it's pretty minimal and I'd rather the bond not suffer from a fat-finger or mistaken double-click than pad our wallets.

Great work indeed, thanks!

CPD is more than double what it was before.

Just hope the same thing doesn't happen to the difficulty now...  Tongue

Pretty sure this will push us into 10-chain territory.

LOL - that Labstick usb miner is fake BS

Unbelievable how fake crap can make the market move. People fell for it big time.

A simple look http://labcoin.com/presentation.html - which appears in the image, doesn't even show usb miners.

Just LOL

it's not on the website, I already checked before posting. everyone that expressed interest in chips before IPO and that holds over 50,000 shares has been contacted, but they have not been given specs, price or release until tuesday, by which time it will be publicly announced, presumably to stop people trying to do insider trading
Why do you post the faked pics, does these come from LABCOIN? any prove?

they are not fake, I can't even draw stickman to proportion in paint, as if I can make a 3D model of a usb stick, I would at least do something interesting like a 600gh device instead of a shitty block erupter clone.. jesus

151  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 22, 2013, 03:32:57 AM
Bear in mind I think some people received their chips without it being reflected in shipping info (if I'm remembering correctly). They just showed up unexpected, apparently.
152  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 14, 2013, 05:34:49 PM
Ok everybody, as promised, I have an update on the Avalon chips shipment status. I just got off the phone with Gary, the account manager for this particular case and this is exactly what he told me:

This shipment has been on hold by US Customs in New York since June 12th. He said that these are extremely extenuating circumstances because the most shipments ever get held up by Customs is about 30 days, so this is WAY past that. He also mentioned that US Customs has been non-cooperative when it comes to conveying any communication on the status of this case. So Gary and his company, they're all having a special meeting next Wednesday together with the Director of the US Customs of New York.

So we should have more information late Wednesday night. I will update you as soon as I get briefed on the matter.

Hope this helps shed a little more light on this unfortunate incident.

2 fucking months held up by US Customs? God damn I hate our regulated shipping / trade system. This reeks of corruption (and not necessarily on the Chinese side).
153  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 13, 2013, 10:06:32 PM

I feel this is a scam. Raging, if you are honest, please pass on the helm to ryepdx to prove you aren't out to scam this group buy.

you are assuming we can get the chips sent anywhere we want??  Avalon is a lot higher on the scam chart right now

I'm focused on the issues I target: if you have suggestions (for this grp buy, or Avalon) you're more than welcome to share them with the rest of us - but in this case, I would prefer to stay focused on the grp buy.

it's a logistics thing..  even if Ragin says, 'yes let thy ryepdx taketh these chips..'  well, if Avalon is unresponsive and we can't get them to change the ship destination, then they will be going to Ragin anyway...

True but there's a lot higher chance of him just turning a box around and shipping it to the west coast than there is of him receiving, sorting chips, repackaging, reconciling who sold what chips to whom, where they're supposed to go, and shipping them all out. Better to plan for the worst and hope for the best than the other way around.
154  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 13, 2013, 08:23:13 PM
Hi all. I've just made a copy of the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0An3dJzr52z_idEp2Y1J6TVBrMldJY1J1U05qQ0dZVlE&usp=sharing

Right now I'm pretty busy finishing up work for a freelance client of mine, but I'll go back through this thread and sync things up as soon as I can. Regardless of who ends up shipping, there *does* need to be an accurate and up-to-date record of who's getting what.

I'll let you know when I'm finished so you can double-check things and make sure I didn't miss anything.

That's noble and all but I fear that it's going to be more trouble than it's worth for you and probably not all that accurate. It might be better to create a quick web form using google forms rather than relying on having to parse through this whole thread. I think it would also help capture any that didn't get vocalized here due to their disillusionment with the way ragin has handled communication lately.

I'd do it but I'm not the flag carrier in any of this. I'm but a lowly customer hoping all the pieces come together. Smiley
155  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: August 13, 2013, 05:28:57 PM
I give up, it practically seems like raging came on just to calm everyone down so he doesnt get the chips taken away. Let me clarify:

- he hasn't gotten the sample chips
- he said he couldn't handle anything because he was moving when the sample chips were due.
- he hasn't answered for 3 weeks, and it has been very hard to talk to him since then.
- no effort to get addresses cleaned up.

We seriously need to keep bugging avalonand try to intercept this package.

I feel the same way and I think in the interest of streamlining to the extent possible, it would be a good idea for ryepdx to take the spreadsheet linked to in the original post, create a copy, and make modifications to get things sorted and cleared up such as who sold what to whom and anything else that might be outstanding. Clean things up, get it up to date, and if ragin does come back, at least we as a group would worry less about the delays (or errors) that could come from this not being done.

I was cautiously optimistic to see ragin pop his head in but the renewed silence is not comforting and my confidence level continues to wane.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: August 13, 2013, 03:46:27 PM
While possible, that isn't really definitive proof of anything. Just run this to see what I mean:

Code:
strings -n 20 ~/.primecoin/blocks/blk00000.dat | tail -n 20
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: August 08, 2013, 08:26:02 PM
In case you are interested in the validity of the chains per day metric, with the following setup running on 9 identical machines I managed 8 chains over 24 hours.

8/9=0.8888 chains per day.

I would say, close enough for government work in this case.

Code:
    "blocks" : 105938,
    "chainspermin" : 3,
    "chainsperday" : 0.92945471,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 9.59519291,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "roundsievepercentage" : 70,
    "primespersec" : 1707,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "sievepercentage" : 10,
    "sievesize" : 1100000,
    "testnet" : false

Lucky you then.  I have 8 machines running at ~1.0 chains/day + a few spare machines on the side.  I got 3 blocks in the last 24 hours.  Undecided

"blocks" : 106059,
"chainspermin" : 21,
"chainsperday" : 2.44443307,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 9.59809953,

cant say that i find 2 blocks per machine per day.. i am lucky to hit 4 blocks per all 6 mashines per day (All are identical)

If you set up one and cloned it, you may be dealing with conflicting / insufficient entropy.
158  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 08, 2013, 02:41:33 PM
So what is the hashing rate per share right now with Lab_Rat mining @ 95 Gh/s.

It seems to be ~3.5Mhs/share

95GH/s/26k shares = 3.65Mhs/s

Well the details of the bond indicate that it's a minimum of 100Mh per share and dividends will be paid out after the end of the 2nd full week of mining (so I take that to mean after 3 full weeks of mining with the 3rd week being the revenue-generating hashrate).
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin on: August 04, 2013, 02:58:27 AM
Block reward and difficulty are recalculated every block but there is a limit on the speed at which reward changes happen. We saw this with the release (and subsequent quick release) of hpx. I personally expect that there will be a short-term flood of coins for perhaps the first week (with block reward honing in on the new difficulty level) and then an eventual stabilization and rise from the low. The question is, though, if current prices are actually rational. Any depression due to the release of GPU may translate to long-term effects simply because it "should" have been lower than .006x anyway.

The short answer is "nobody really knows but some people are probably going to make a good bit of dough on this".
160  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 04, 2013, 01:09:42 AM
I would really appreciate being whitelisted.  It's in place to prevent bots, spammers, and scammers.  I'm none of the above and have a previous account that I no longer wish to be associated with.  Going through this process a second time is not enjoyable.

Is anybody curious as to whom Lab_Rat's previous username was, one he has great reason for distancing himself from?

Curious? Sure, but this is the Internet where anonymity is the user's prerogative - not to mention one of the tenets behind Bitcoin.
