141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do You Think A Bull Run Is Really Coming on: December 14, 2018, 07:11:35 AM
I think we will see another Bull Run, however, it will not be during 2018 which is going to end the year as flat as it has been for the past few months. We will need to wait until late Quarter 1 or Quarter 2 of 2019 for the much-awaited bull.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am just Dumping all my altcoins! on: December 12, 2018, 06:33:15 AM
I guess it was a tough decision to make, but as long as you don't look back and agonise over what if you had held then it is a good choice. I prefer to sit on what I have and wait for more favourable conditions to reduce the level of losses, patience is key.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading is the key to increase your portfolio in the Bear Market on: December 12, 2018, 06:30:36 AM
With the market being totally unpredictable at the moment and most of the altcoins feeling the pressure from Bitcoin, unless you are closely analysing Bitcoin you may miss some key moves with your alt trading coin and be left losing out. For those that do not have the time to sit watching trading screens then an alternative is just to buy more of the coins you favour and reduce your cost averages.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs are not dead, just maturing in a positive way. on: December 11, 2018, 05:50:43 AM
I don't think that the concept of the ICO had died however the current market trend has proven prohibitive to any companies looking to raise funding for their projects. We are unlikely to see a strong return of the ICO until the new bull phase for Bitcoin has been established.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Stellar! on: December 11, 2018, 05:47:38 AM
I think Stellar is progressing nicely, there are now several coins using or planning to use the platform to support their own currencies. At the moment, however, the whole market is still tied to Bitcoin so we are stuck waiting for a recovery there to be reflected in the wider market.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price dump on: December 10, 2018, 06:13:56 AM
If you are following the wider market you will see that the price of Ethereum is still heavily affected by the price of Bitcoin, and it is still the movements in Bitcoin that are creating the mirrored movements with Ethereum and the remainder of the altcoins.

When we see an upturn in Bitcoin prices Ethereum will follow suit.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should leave the market? on: December 10, 2018, 06:07:40 AM
At this point with a lot of the new release coins I don't see the point in leaving the market with around a 98% loss, what you have remaining is so small in value that it does not represent much of a risk to leave them active in the hope a new bull phase will bring about some sort of recovery. For new investment, I would tend to agree and stick to the top 25 coins by market cap and hope that a BTC recovery will affect them in a positive way and quickly.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $98,90 Ethereum - New critical mark. What will happen to the projects of ICO ? on: December 09, 2018, 06:46:39 AM
Most companies have realised that this is simply the wrong time to be running their ICOs either they are failing to attract the projected levels of funding, or they are extending the sale period by weeks or even months to hopefully encourage more people to invest. I have seen quite a few companies postpone their sales until market conditions change also. I think we are stuck with the current conditions now until the next bull phase begins, I will be holding my positions and adding when the opportunity arises.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH continues to decline? on: December 09, 2018, 06:42:36 AM
I had thought that Ethereum had found a previous low around $150 but it proved us all wrong by continuing to fall. I don't see the situation changing much until the next Bitcoin bull phase when it should pull all of the other coins along with it. Until then just make the most of the buying opportunities and wait for a reversal to generate some gains.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you sure about next year? on: December 08, 2018, 07:33:58 AM
Nothing is for certain in investing and crypto is even more volatile than most other instruments, however, it does ten to follow similar cycles and patterns which have taught us that there is always a recovery following a steep decline. Late quarter 1 has traditionally been a strong time of year for crypto following the Chinese new year and a renewed appetite for investment. It just seems that in 2018 they skipped a year, so I am optimistic for improvements in 2019 but not convinced when or if they will happen.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the time to buy ALTs? on: December 07, 2018, 05:20:42 AM
I think the only alts we should contemplate buying right now are the quality ones, this is no time to be taking a punt on an outsider ICO with no sign of a working product. I would suggest staggering your purchase over a few weeks to take advantage of any further pullbacks in price.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins/icos to buy and hold on: December 06, 2018, 06:30:56 AM
I would stick with some of the established coins including BTC, ETH, XLM, NEO as your first choices for starting an investment. ICO coins have done really badly during 2018 and unless the coin is ready to launch their platform and not make you wait through 18 months of development I would give them a wide berth.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next month early January 2019. on: December 06, 2018, 06:26:17 AM
My plan is to invest in a few of the top 25 coins from coinmarketcap that are already established and in usage, but at the current time hitting the lows of the previous 18 months. I calculate that these coins stand the best chance of making a strong recovery along with the market but patience is definitely required I don't see a fast profit coming just yet.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market manipulation? on: December 05, 2018, 06:31:47 AM
I don't subscribe to this manipulation by Tether theory, I prefer to think that this is the interference of the futures and options trading elements that make it profitable for the price of Bitcoin to fall not just rise.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 is the year of altcoins on: December 05, 2018, 06:04:25 AM
All of the hype and Hopium has certainly disappeared from the ICO market and from altcoins in general, I do expect some of them to make a return in 2019 or whenever the next bull phase comes to us. Many that launched during the IO craze of 2017 and early 2018 stand little chance of recovering unless they have a solid business usage case backing them.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About gas gwei for send out token from myetherwallet on: December 04, 2018, 05:42:07 AM
It really depends how busy the network is, you can try to use ethgasstation.info to gauge the right amount to set your GWEI at, however, I have sometimes found this to be inaccurate and had to choose a GWEI setting higher than the recommended just to get it to work.

Take care with your gas limits also as sending ERC-20 tokens requires more than just sending ETH they are generally set automatically for you but occasionally you need to increase that also especially if you find the tx running out of gas.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't quit investing on: December 04, 2018, 05:32:06 AM
Pretty good advice really, although it is often difficult to make the choice to invest more whilst the value of your holdings is decreasing it is absolutely the best time to be reducing your cost average and building a stake for the next bull phase. Patience is key to unlocking the true value of your holdings.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening to cryptocurrency?! on: December 03, 2018, 09:12:38 AM
I think we are actually beginning to see the genesis of the new wave of crypto that will break down the previous barriers that have divided crypto between the geeks and early adopters and spread it amongst the wider population. There are 1 or 2 killer apps out there which will allow people to use crypto and blockchain without knowing it is even there.

Of now I think we have enough cross-border payment solutions and there is nothing revolutionary coming from that sector.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: are there bounties worth paying $1000? on: December 03, 2018, 08:55:24 AM
I think unless you are a crypto influencer with a channel supporting over 100K subscribers, and you are capable of producing high-quality articles or youtube content then it is going to be next to impossible to earn 4 figure bounties in the current crypto climate. These types of bounties often pay the highest but they are not available to everyone. If however, we see a sustained bull run in 2019 some of the current low value bounties may end up in the high 100s or even over $1,000 in value.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which alts will survive? on: December 02, 2018, 05:44:46 AM
We should be treating crypto in the same way as other startup businesses and the simple facts are that most new start companies will fail to make it past the first 12 months. I would suggest that those with the best chance of survival at the moment are those occupying the top 50 positions in market cap and any of the recent ICO that have actually spent time developing their platform and it has real-world application.
