I agree to everything you have said.

Agree ako na dapat wala sa grammar ang basehan kasi we are all having hard time in gaining merits ( though I don't really have a problem with it, I am just concerned with my fellowmen ).

142  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Merit Distribution in Local Board on: March 12, 2018, 05:39:55 PM

How can you receive a merit if you're post are one lines maxing up to two lines. Don't expect any member of this forum to give you any merit if you will not improve your posts.

If you want someone to give you a merit, put some thoughts into your posts. You don't need to be that knowledgeable about crypto currencies, just make a post that will make people think that you are worthy to be given a merit.

I think that a one line post could contain more than enough information.
A one liner could be as good as any informative articles if constructed right?
Maybe there are other ways to determine if which is a good post or not so that even one liner post could be credited by merits too. Or if no one would agree, they should at least expand their thoughts.
143  Other / Meta / Re: Does merit really helping the forum. on: March 12, 2018, 05:33:26 PM
In general, it's a great system. And I think it is helpful not just now but also in the future.

There are a lot of people who are complaining about the new system but they are not seeing the importance of it in the future.

I do know that spammers will still be spammers and yeah, they will still be paid but I think they will also be finding that staying in a single rank for the rest of their time here in the forum will be kind of boring so they will find a way to work on their merits to rank up.

In the meantime, let's just accept the system and wait for the results in the future to kick in.

The merit system was just about a month old if I am not mistaken and it already has a great impact to the forum. Less abusers, less further complications. Posts are somehow like being regulated and reviewed which is a great thought though I think some merit providers have additional workload.

I do agree that some alt accounts will get tired of spamming because they can not actually rank without constructing good ones for merits.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people buy high and sell low on: March 12, 2018, 05:22:03 PM
I've been one of those people, the people that buy at the high points of crypto and then sell low, losing my money and then later on losing out on a good amount of profits which I could've made. I'd like to know some of the reasons that people do this, besides doing it to cut their losses as that one is my reason.

Thanks guys!

It is not like you have done it on purpose.
You bought during high price because you thought if You would buy at a moment, it will go higher than it is currently handing. And selling low is like panic selling and it is a long chain that drags other users with you so as an advice try to avoid panic selling. The mentality of a person will always be affected by anything and as for bitcoin it can depress you anytime.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to crypto any advice? on: March 11, 2018, 11:10:55 PM
If I would have a chance to do my portfolio again I would do it this way.

50% BTC/ETH
30% MID altcoins
20% LOW altcoins

Just don't panic and HODL during this bloodbath.

I would go with his advice.
Before investing you should have checked backgrounds of coin if they are going to be worth the investment. Since you are a newbie, research should always guide you.
You know that you are a bit a late comer, you need to read more first before investing. There are many threads here that would help you answer your thoughts. Try to learn that projects supporting altcoins or any coins is very important.
146  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Store accepting bitcoins? on: March 11, 2018, 09:47:10 PM
Nasa province ako at wala namang stores na tumatanggap ng bitcoins as payment dito. Kayo ba?

I've also seen this stores sa ibang website so siguro totoong tumatanggap nga sila ng Bitcoin, but not sure.

So most of us, hindi nating alam if meron ngang store na tumatanggap ng bitcoins dito sa bansa natin.

149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you deal with friends/family when they lose their investment? on: March 11, 2018, 12:22:54 PM
If I were you, I should have make them aware first that investing in cryptos are risky yet with proper handling and patience, it will all be worth it. Another thing you should explain to them is the extreme volatility of cryptocurrencies and it can actually go high and low drastically. If they are aware of that kind of things, it will not be easy for you to tell them that they should let it stay first and not take it out o cut loses. It can still rise and make profits. Patience will make losses disappear.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is product important for a project? on: March 11, 2018, 12:08:41 PM
A product, application or website or anything that is made by a project, ICO or company is very important. Most of the time, such things are basis if a project will be successful and will be worth investing for. Having good feed backs or suggestions could determine flaws to develop the project more. Also, people should see the transparency and goal of the company or group to gain trust. If they have a good and acceptable aim that would not just earn for themselves but to make impact t others, then that would be a good project.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling addiction a disease? on: March 10, 2018, 11:58:27 PM
It is defined as a disease by most medical associations. It involves environmental factors that affects behavior too. Addiction to a thing involves changes in how our brain functions and could probably have consequences once it is not controlled. It may cause a person to be disabled it continuing a daily routine normally if you will be pertaining to gambling addiction. A mind set to gambling might decline a person's self-care ability for himself.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 10, 2018, 11:49:53 PM
You need to be careful with services like Grammarly nd Google translate. There are so many subsets of English, that I'm not sure which one they use. I ran one of my paragraphs through Grammarly, and it came up with 4 errors, but I wasn't prepared to register with them to discover the errors. One was an alleged spelling mistake, but as they didn't appear to establish whether my paragraph was English or American, I assume they were using the incorrect American dictionary. Also, they didn't like my use of quotes, but I think they are essential to the interpretation of my paragraph.

I reran it, and it looks as if they don't like the use of double quotes. This seems to be a matter of personal preference, and subject to regional variatons. What is important is that the starting and ending quotation marks match, and that quotes within quotes use different pairs.

I do find every comments very helpful and will be willing enough to improve myself more. Maybe that will be up to my own determination regarding my own flaws. Appreciate efforts and suggestions, I will be opened for more knowledge that I could get here in you thread. I will be visiting this thread more often now and will expand my vocabulary too to avoid using words redundantly from now on.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work on bitcointalk effectively? on: March 09, 2018, 11:45:13 PM
If you are determined to make good results in bitcoin whatever it may provide you, then you have to make time for it. It is a serious matter and you really need to study it before entering.
It is not enough that you have an amount of bitcoin and wait for it to grow. It is a matter of evolution of mode of payment that actually affects every country in the world.
So many factors that affects it's use and you should know all of that. To protect yourself and for the growth of cryptocurrencies itself.
Good use will lead to more development.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 09, 2018, 06:59:53 PM
I find only two reasons why people are accused of spamming and shitoosting.
Firstly, they lack knowldege. If they don't know what they are actually reading, then how could they answer and tell reviews about it.
Secondly, it's because they are not learning to speak english or even learn how to use it. It will not not be understandable in any way. If they could not understand a word in terms of economics then how could be expect them to say a single word about it. Terms in economics is very important to be on track.

You forget to write the third reason why peoples are accused for spamming and shitposting. Its all for the signature campaign!
Just imagine if is there no option to earn money through sig. campaign than how many users will post in this forum and how many users will be actively active here?

Peoples makes shitposts to increase their post count and then to rank up with a common goal to participate in sig. campaign.
On the other side, those users don't even understand how they are spamming & polluting the forum.

Sorry for the grammar.

If you use Grammarly Chrome extension then you can avoid those silly grammars and spelling mistakes.
Grammarly doesn't have 100% accuracy in my opinion but it is a very useful tool and can help you a lot.

I appreciate the review on my post and your advice to improve it.
Is it possible to use that grammarly chrome in a mobile phone ? I often don't have time using a laptop because I am currently in an On Job Training and it's kinda hard to always to keep my English straight without anyone having question marks floating in their minds Smiley
I will be determined more to improve myself because I can see that earlier adaptors like you are willing to help lower ranks like me.
155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 09, 2018, 01:26:46 PM
English language is certainly not my native language. I am a Filipino and in some threads my fellowmen were always critisized about their crooked English statements.
I don't really have a problem with it because I can see why they were actually judged by many.
Even I have problems when it comes to letting others understand what I mean. I also need some advises and I am willing to learn from this thread.

It will be a pleasure if you would correct my thoughts in sentences too.
156  Other / Meta / Re: Does merit really helping the forum. on: March 09, 2018, 12:58:41 PM
Through my own perspective, I do see and feel positive results when merit system was implemented in the forum. I can feel that efforts are being exerted because I am also one of them. Smiley
I am having a hard time as you can see I have only one merit at the moment and it's quite pumping me with a smile on my face. I know I am not that good in English but I try hard for everyone to understand what I want to impart.
I know I lack knowledge and that is what I am trying to improve now.

In general, it's a great system. And I think it is helpful not just now but also in the future. I think quality will be observed when thos e spammers are tired to disappoint themselves in ranking up.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Working for Bitcoin on: March 08, 2018, 10:50:29 PM
As a student, it's hard to find a work that involves bitcoins. I'm in school 8-9 hours and when I go home, I would like a long rest. That is why, signature campaigns really gives me not much but enough to support my allowances every month.
When I have my free time. I find sites that are finding freelancers. Those who are needing not a too much technical writers or even story writers only. I earn few bitcoins there.
Sometimes, do some errands that my fellow bitcoiners want like, turn papers, then I get bitcoins in return or payment.
158  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Struggling bitcoin will double by midyear on: March 05, 2018, 03:00:40 PM
Try to be more observant and try to think about why people are predicting and spreading that prices will go high and sometimes prices will go low.

In my opinion, they spread butcoins will go all time high because they have their own investment that they want to grow.
When prices are high, some spread FUDs so trading would be possible. Some cases, they want to pull out their profits causing the market go down drastically and then panic sellers go wild too.
Then on repeat. Though bitcoinsstay in a range of resistance these scenarios are still present.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the online Casino industry help Bitcoin? on: March 05, 2018, 12:16:27 PM
I personally think that it does help the bitcoin industry.
Based on my own experience, gambling does attract people. Especially the rich ones, greedy ones and those who think betting could get them out of poverty.
Some are just in gambling for fun. And I think leisure activities are what people are finding nowadays.

With casinos using bitcoin, they will be more interested. More convenient and there is a possibility that their profits may increase.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan plans to become the Bitcoin capital of the world. on: March 05, 2018, 06:30:46 AM
Well no doubt that Japan is really into the technological advancements and after the great FUDs and Fall of cry ptocurrencies in China, I knew that Japan can be the next country that will greatly influence this industry.
I hope that other countries try their best in accepting bitcoins and other coins so that manipulation.
