141  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: October 17, 2017, 11:56:15 PM
If this kind of trend happening right now will continue for the next years then we can say that anyone who invested in bitcoin today will truly reap what they sow. Bitcoin will be gaining popularity and this will drive it to a higher level.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: interest in bitcoin is increasing on: October 17, 2017, 11:39:52 PM
It is indeed true that bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general is gaining more popularity for the past.  This could possibly be one of the reason why bitcoins price drastically goes up in the past days.  More demand for the father of cryptocurrency.  Hopefully one day all coins will be accepted worldwide.

144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What impresses you the most about Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 10:58:17 AM
What i like most about bitcoin is its decentralized features.  Giving its users the capability to control what they wanted to do with their own money.  Bitcoin empowers the users giving them the freedom to do what they what without the seeking eyes of the government.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: October 17, 2017, 06:24:00 AM
For me this may not happen on the near future.  Because as of now a lot of cryptocurrency investor still chooses bitcoin among other altcoins therefore as long this trust people gives to bitcoin will not shift then bitcoin will always be number one.  It will still take years before this trust will totally shift to other coins.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not be number one for long on: October 17, 2017, 04:02:20 AM
As of now i cant see an altcoin can surpass bitcoin in the near future.
Despite bitcoin lacking features which other altcoins has it will still thrive for long time since most of the cryptocurrencies values it more as compared to other altcoins.
Let us remember that price of coins qill be greatly affected by the demand from users.  And as of now the demand for bitcoin is great.
147  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: AIRDROP on: October 17, 2017, 02:29:00 AM

You will lose nothing naman if you try it eh,  so why not.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many people against bitcoin? on: October 17, 2017, 02:17:25 AM
I think the word against is proper to be used in this question. For i believe that people who until now did not accept bitcoin is not really against it but they just have reservation with regards to it since they dont know it fully well yet. And i bwlieve this is just only normal primarily because it involves money,  but if this could be properly explained to them then there is a great possibility that they will soon invest too.

The sad truth is that they dont even bother to at least read the first page.
They could surely have learn a lot if they decided to spend some time in reading it.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How many transactions in one block? on: October 11, 2017, 11:28:51 PM
Your assumption is completely wrong.

There is no "number of transactions needed to be confirmed before a block is added to the chain". That is not how Bitcoin works.

A block is a collection of transactions and transactions are confirmed by being included in a block. There is not a separate process that makes a transaction confirmed. It is part of block creation and mining. A block must have at least one transaction, the coin generation transaction (also called a coinbase transaction, not to be confused with transactions made by Coinbase the company). A block can have just the coinbase transaction, and any number of transactions until the block weight limit is reached. This means that it can have anywhere from one transaction to several thousands of transactions.

A good place to read about how Bitcoin works is the documentation on bitcoin.org
.
I really appreciate the reply and its from a moderator.  Cheesy
I am honestly still confused with what you said above since it is totally far from my assumptions.
I have been re-reading your reply until now and got some of the points you stated.
Nevertheless i will visit the lonk you have give and will continue from there.
.

P.S.
You mentioned:
This means that it can have anywhere from one transaction to several thousands of transactions.
Do this also mean that even with only one transaction a miner can be given a reward for confirming it?
Again,  maybe my assumptions is still incorrect.
Cheesy

Yes, a miner will get the same block reward regardless of the number of transactions included in the block.  Transaction fees (which are in addition to the block reward) would likely be less for a block with few transactions vs a lot of transactions.  (I say likely less because that one transaction could have a huge fee attached to it).

I see...
Thank you very much for clarifying it to me.
I am now more interested in conducting more research Cheesy
.
Just another question though.
Do this same type of block processing also applies to other altcoins that uses blockchain too?
.
Sorry for having another question.
My curiousity is not gonna be easily satiated because of the things i learned right now.

157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi controlling 500'000 BTC on: October 11, 2017, 10:54:23 PM
For me someone or some group might really have a possession of a lot of coins and it maybe more than a million.  But am i worried about it,  my answer is no because if there is really someone that holds that huge amount of coin and did not spend it for how many years despite bitcoin price today then i think we can depend on his dedication to the cryptocurrency.  It would only mean that he hold that huge sum of coins because he doesnt want to alter or shatter cryptocurrency.  He is just their to observe and not like someone who will instantly jump into a decision when they already had a possession of large amount of coin.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How many transactions in one block? on: October 11, 2017, 10:44:27 PM
Good day!
I am really curious about this and cannot stop myself from asking it in order to have a peace of mind.
I am still a newbie in cryptocurrency world but very much eager to learn new things.
I've researching a lot about cryptocurrency and i am now concentrating on topics related to blockchains. I have already watched a lot of youtube videos and read a lot of articles but until now i havent found a specific answer on how many transactions are needed to be confirmed before a block is added to the chain.
Hopefully someone could answer this for me.
Or maybe you can send me a link wherein i can further research about this.
Thank you very much.

I tried months to get into deeponion airdrop. I finally applied and spent hours to on getting the client working. Today I tried to check my status, but I accidently pressed "apply airdrop" button when I should have pressed "Check status". I guess I was on wrong page. After pressing "apply airdrop" it said I was "blacklisted".

All this work for nothing. Is there something I can do to remove that blacklisting?  Roll Eyes Huh

First of all replace xxxxx in your signature as you wont get in airdrop.

Join on deep onion forum and write there or on slack for support.

You have to patient, supportive and you will be rewarded...
The slack link on the support board doesnt work. I wrote a message there though.  I wouldnt mind if I hand wasted good part of this and yesterday on this. Time is not cheap.

As someone else said, the slack isn't supported anymore. I submitted a support ticket on the deeponion forum a got a reply within 2 days from a mod. So i would suggest trying there. I was told this :

Now your signature is ok
Bitcointalk activity : good
beitcointalk DeepOnion support: not bad
DeepOnion forum activity : not bad
Content creator: no
DeepOnion want to build a strong community and DeepOnion airdrops have a very big values.
Show please more support to the DeepOnion project here and don't forget about Bitcointalk forum too.
If you will show some very good activity, devs maybe will review your case.

So i think they are looking for something along those lines. I was still not given any approval though, so i think you have to work on content creating possibly? Like the mod that answered my support ticket said The deeponion airdrop has a lot of value so you have to work to be accepted to the community. I need to change the not bad into good haha. Good luck on your application anyway! DO #1
Ya, I had gotten the exact same response from the DO support & I guess all standings have to be good or higher, might be hard for some people to have that much activity on 2  different forum pages while working a full time job... But hey I bet there's tons of other people that some how find the time to do it!  Wink
.
Heres my advice so that it wont be that hard when you are creating activity both in bitcointalk forum and at the official DO forum.
Just enjoy what you are doing,  do not force yourself too much accomplishing this task.
Posting here in bitcointalk for me is easier if i found a more interesting topic where i can post and while doing so i learn a lot of new things too.
I am even very thankful of DO devs that they required 10 post a week,  because it gives me more urge to scroll around this forum and find topics that are really good and where i can get great insights for my cryptocurrency journey.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 11, 2017, 10:26:34 PM
As of now there is really no assuarance that bitcoin can last forever.
Countries can do anything they seem fit to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.  The only thing we can do right is to continuously promote bitcoin among other and hoping that it may reach the ears of politicians who will be so eager to shutdown bitcoin.
