141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 07, 2017, 04:32:37 PM
Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.

Well if we are to compare the situation one year ago and today, I must say that the crowd have been bigger. More people are now aware of btc. Although some of them just heard about it and not really interested and some are investing but don't really grasp its essence and purpose. But still, it's a great leap for bitcoin to be known widely.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Middle East Richest Business Man, Won't Invest In Bitcoin on: November 07, 2017, 02:42:07 PM
Al Waleed, Saudi Prince, Announced in an interview with cnbc that bitcoin have no future arguing "It just doesn't make sense. This thing is not regulated, it's not under control, it's not under the supervision".

Also the Saudi government prohibited the use of bitcoin in the country!

Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/23/prince-alwaleed-says-bitcoin-will-implode-enron-in-the-making.html

My Comment:
Bitcoin exists 8 years ago, the price of bitcoin is not what real bitcoiners users search. Real bitcoiners joined bitcoin to enjoy privacy, transaction speed, secure ...

Regards,
Bitcoin Boy.

Maybe he said it because he knows nothing about bitcoin. And how sure are we that he's not holding any? Maybe he's trying to be another Jamie Dimon who is afraid of btc. Besides, I'm not familiar with the prince and that's a fact that not all know him so his statement won't affect us especially btc. Let's not make a fuss over this issue. We all know better.
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: November 07, 2017, 12:56:11 PM
Bitcoin as a course or any related currency on web.
In my country we have multiple courses in computer especially programing and web developments. My course is also information technology, but i've never heard or learn about online currency as bitcoin. In present, and future studies is there any chances for inserting about it in education. In your country is it available?
It would be better for any country to adopt bitcoin in educating new generations. Instead of playing games and wasting money in surfing xxx sites.

It's been included in some universities especially in the US and some countries like Sweden if I'm not mistaken. Actually I'm graduate of Information Technology like you and I've never heard of it. Right now, I don't see it being available here in our country but if ever I have a chance I'd love to study again because this cryptocurrency and the blockchain is quite fascinating. Ild love to learn more about it and be more knowledgeable on its technical aspect and not just what I've seen in the web.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: November 07, 2017, 06:15:34 AM
Yes of course! As the name itself which is "bit" which means digital and "coin" which is money. So obviously is sounds money to everyone who hear about it for the first time. But the main difference to fiat is that it is in the form of digital. So I think I answered your question and I think others will have the same thinking about it.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After all bitcoins mined on: October 22, 2017, 05:47:57 PM
What would happen after all the 21 million bitcoins mined? How the transactions would be carried?
According to my calculations,  I am sure I wouldn't be around for that to happen as the difficulty ratekeeps going higher and higher the more new miners enter the fray, I am wondering if the value will still continue to rise when there have been all mined or what.
Yes since it would take around 140 more years before the last block of Bitcoin be mined. It's a very long time so we should not be bothered about this because all of us here are dead on that time. Too bad we cannot witness that to happen or maybe we are not sure if that will happen.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2018 on: October 21, 2017, 12:08:45 AM
if you have any idea about bitcoin increasing? if I buy now btc so its r8 or wrong time
fell free or droped here....
thanks

In the average, Bitcoin is increasing in value over time. So if you buy now and intends to hold it until the next year, 2018, then it would be a very nice decision. Bitcoin might just doubles its price on 2018, at approximate of 10,000 USD minimum in my prediction. So it is best to buy and buy and buy. When the price drops, buy. As simple as that. You'll get your ROI eventually at the right time  Wink
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: BUY OR SELL on: October 21, 2017, 12:05:11 AM
I'm forced to ask this based on the current trend in the bitcoin market. Now I want to know which of the following you'd do as a trader who's following the trend in the market

It is difficult to say what to do, whether to buy or to sell because Bitcoin increased recently reaching an all time high. Maybe buying now isn't good since Bitcoin as at its peek. However, buying now might also a ticket to a foreseeable Bitcoin pump until the year ends. Or maybe Bitcoin will go down any minute due to the upcoming forks. It is difficult but if you plan to hold for a long time then buying now would be a good choice.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Great Day for Bitcoin from $5,600 to $6,054 on: October 21, 2017, 12:01:34 AM
today is great day for bitcoin price up from from $5,600 to $6,054 Congratulations bitcoin

Yes, another all time high in the history of Bitcoin! That was unexpected since we all know that a fork is about to commence several days from now, right. This just shows Bitcoin and its community's strength. Regardless of an upcoming fork and other FUDs that Bitcoin will go down, Bitcoin still goes up. Hope this trend continues until the end of this year. Roll Eyes
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: After 6,000$ When will have 6,500 on: October 20, 2017, 11:57:58 PM
When do you expect to get 6,500$ price

Whoa man, chill. We just passed the 6000 dollar mark and it even had a slight drop afterwards. It is best to keep things one at a time. 6000 USD is a good foundation since after the fork, the price is perceived to go higher. We will get there after the hardforks, considering that all ends well without any other issue or drama to rise.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: when is the right time to invest on bitcoin on: October 20, 2017, 10:50:34 PM
hi would like to know when is the next price to invest on bitcoins ?

anyone can advise

thanks

That would be difficult since an accurate speculation about when will the price drop is hard to say with certainty. Hours ago I was certain that Bitcoin will go down because a fork will get underway few days from now but when the price goes beyond the 6000 dollar mark, it made me eat my own words. So no one can say for certain when is the best time to buy in to Bitcoin. All we can say is "buy in the dips" and when exactly is out of our capability of knowing.
151  Economy / Speculation / Re: Newsflash: Bitcoin Price Goes Berserk, Tears Past $6,000 on: October 20, 2017, 09:33:43 PM
No one was think it will break 6,000 today

I agree, even myself. I am expecting Bitcoin will go down any minute since Bitcoin will be subjected in a fork a few days from now. We've seen what happened to the recent hardfork that gave birth to BitcoinCash, a week before the scheduled fork made the price go down dramatically. But this scenario changes everything. I guess underestimating Bitcoin is not a good thing  Roll Eyes
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 6000$ on: October 20, 2017, 09:09:46 PM
Is it possible to reach Bitcoin price 6000$ in the month end october 2017?
How do u think? Is it happen? advance thanks for your replies.

We are already here! Cheesy Though I am not expecting this to happen. Considering that there are upcoming forks within just days, I though that there will be a big resistance to breaking the 6000 dollar wall. Well, I stand corrected. This is a great sign that despite of the upcoming forks, Bitcoin stays as firm as ever and is not affected of FUDs circulating the Bitcoin Community. Hope it does not fall anytime soon.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Ever Be Shutdown? on: October 20, 2017, 08:48:03 PM
I was just wondering, what would it take for the Bitcoin Network to be shutdown completely?

The Bitcoin Network fully relies on the existence of the internet. Considering this fact, we can say that the only way to shutdown Bitcoin completely is by shutting down the internet itself. Another is electricity. No electricity, no Internet. So if you shutdown these two then you could probably shutdown the entire Bitcoin Network. Well that is if you can Roll Eyes
154  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Anung masasabi niyo dito? Wala daw tayong alam sa Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 09:48:41 PM
155  Economy / Speculation / Re: This family bet it all on Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 09:37:17 PM
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/17/this-family-bet-it-all-on-bitcoin.html

They sold everything to buy bitcoin and are living in campsites, waiting to become millionaires.

Such optimism and trust in Bitcoin. This is the most reckless, brave, and all-out investment in Bitcoin I have ever seen. Some are just investing those they can afford to lose, some invest they cannot afford to lose but is taking the opportunity to gamble, but in this case, wow, I am very impressed. This is a trust in Bitcoin no one can beat. I just hope they get the return they want to get soon.
156  Economy / Speculation / Re: I do not have the guts to buy bitcoins now. on: October 18, 2017, 09:27:31 PM
I do not even have the courage to buy Bitcoin. Although I believe Bitcoin a lot. Many of my friends have made a lot of money by investing in Bitcoin. So I am thinking that I will buy Bitcoin in the future. As Bitcoin too Rising to 5000+ USD   Grin

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?  Roll Eyes

The more you wait for opportunity, the higher the possibility that you loss some. If you will keep on waiting for "the right time", you might end up wasting your time since no one can guarantee in Bitcoin will crash dramatically, lower than the current price, in the future. So it is best to buy now then hold, if the price crashed then buy again. As simple as that. At least you did not waste any of your time waiting for something that might not even come in the first place.
157  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency. on: October 18, 2017, 07:46:28 PM
I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??

Bitcoin has a currency-asset duality in nature. Bitcoin is a currency because it is made as it i and Bitcoin is an asset because it behaves that way. I believe that Bitcoin is not intentionally made to behave like an asset since Satoshi designed Bitcoin as a "digital cash". However, because of decentralization and volatility, it is inevitable to make Bitcoin behave like an asset more than like a currency. Behaving an asset is not a bad thing but it might hinder Bitcoin from going mainstream. We cannot fully eliminate the nature of Being an asset in Bitcoin but we can reduce that by using it like fiat and do not hold.
158  Economy / Speculation / Re: $6000 comming through on: October 17, 2017, 08:23:34 PM
Major resistances have been blown like a tower of cards. This is only the beginning. Expect $7000 short thereafter. We may get to $10000 this year if the segwit2x corporate takeover is beaten quick enough. Im hoping everyone with power in bitcoin crushes the corporations involved in the hardfork.

If we get past segwit2x, it will be smooth sailing. For now let's enjoy the ride.

6000 to 7000 USD is very much probable when the upcoming hardforks goes smoothly without any issue nor drama. I am expecting this one since we are above the 5000 dollar mark. However, I don't think reaching 10,000 USD this year is too much. We won't go there, not yet at least. 2018 would be the perfect year for that. A bubble might trigger the 10,000 but is not very healthy for Bitcoin.
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think we don't get quality Bitcoin users anymore? on: October 17, 2017, 08:19:03 PM
Maybe I'm wrong but I have the feeling that with Bitcoin price growth we have got a lot of new users who are not honesty and passionate interested in Bitcoin but only in fast, instant profit and if they don't get it they got disappointed and give up. Some of them don't even bother to get some basic knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. That is also the reason why we see so much panic selling when the price dumps. Is that only my feeling or do you think that also?

I feel you. I also think that most of the newcomers here does not want to know about Bitcoin but they just come here to earn Bitcoin. Hell, they even call this forum Bitcoin! Their mindset about Bitcoin is a way of earning, and that's all. I do not know how will this affect the market but I am bothered about this.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC speculation before fork on: October 15, 2017, 05:35:56 PM
where do you guys see the price? will it break 6k or will it back to 5200-5400$ and settle there for some time?

Bitcoin will not reach 6000 USD before the fork. It will be after the fork. There are more tendency that Bitcoin will crash as we approach the upcoming hardfork so reaching as high as 6k USD is a bit much. It might fall lower than 5000 USD since hardforks are never jokes to some. Some are afraid of it so that's why some do panic selling.
