hey folks - i have tried to install the wallet in win 10 but it is still not working at all ;(( I can't register with the community forum until I have a wallet address either.
I downloaded the zip file from the website but when I click on the .exe file - the onion graphic appears and disappears on my desktop and there are no deeponion processes in my task manager.
Can ANYBODY help me please - this is doing my head in lol

Did you extract contents of zip file and than opened the .exe. Try running it as administrator and see if that helps. Try to download it again and see if that new download works. These are just some options that you can try, please reply if anything has worked so we can help you further if not. Thanks for trying to help btw. Ye so I downloaded it again, extracted to desktop, ran as admin and it did the exact same thing - onion flashes in centre of screen then disappears ;(( I have tried both windows clients as well. |

I received the airdrop from eBTC and it shot up to 80cents on coinmarketcap and I thought wow finally on something here - then it dropped like a stone lol. I was going to trade out for ETH but I wasn't confident enough to use etherdelta website.
It is hard to know these days what is a scam - a poster mentioned earlier that some ICO's are scams and just pump and dump coins - if you join these then it is best to get out at the first sign of a significant rise in price - but how do you know the price to get out at really? Remember the guy who spent 10,000 bitcoins on a pizza in the early days - how was he to know the price would be near 6k dollars today?

Don't get involved with anything starting with a lower case 'e' - eDASH/eBTC/eDOGE etc etc..
Just start reading and learning - mine some coins if you can and learn how to set up mining software to do this. Or buy some really cheap coins on an exchange like Bittrex for example - you buy bitcoin 1st then exchange what you have for some altcoins and this allows you to build a portfolio.
This is very basic but gets your hands dirty if your indeed a noob.

What about.. eTHEREUM? *badum tss*Jokes aside, just to add to what midvoc said, OP make sure that you're getting the right mining software at the right place. Don't just Google something like "fast and easy bitcoin mining program" or something along those lines as you may end up clicking a scammy Google advertisement. Also, don't expect to make much with mining especially if you don't have ASIC miners. Go mine for a while just to have a grasp on how transactions or mining in general works. dammit - ye forgot about eTHEREUM - that one is the worst of the lot lol  Joking ofc - just google as much as you can and see if this game is for you - I'm pretty sure you will soon find out. Ok guys this is weird - my wallet qt.exe won't open at all in windows 10? I can't install it so that it can sync with the network.
It just shows the onion icon in the middle of the screen then disappears completely?
I have tried running as admin and compatibility with other windows versions but it does the same thing.
Any advice here is much appreciated thanks.

Hello mate. It's not late at all. Well according to actual rules you aren't eligible for the airdrop but there are still 27 airdrops ahead so I am almost sure they will change the registration date rule again in the future as they did once moving the registration date from July 12. to September 1. so don't hesitate and join now! You can't get Onions from airdrop now but there are several ways you can get them. Such as writing articles, making videos, graphic contents participating in the contests & etc. Just be active there and on DeepOnion forum and I am sure you will be rewarded by the sweet airdrop in the future. But read the rules of participating in the airdrop properly before applying in the future. good - sounds like a plan. Btw i have downloaded the wallet for windows 10 but when i try to open the .exe file - it just quits - i tried compatibility and running as admin - can anyone help here to get started lol? |

Its not late. We have only completed 13 airdrops out of 40. But since you are a Newbie, you need to be more active on bitcointalk and become at least a Jr Member. Also currently your account needs to be open before Sept 1 to be an airdrop member. Wait for the dev team to change that date so that you will be included. Be more active on here and deeponion forum.
