Hey Notaek, I think a few of my old posts or there threads might have been deleted I have made 24 posts in the week duration but yet the total 313-292 becomes 21 please take care of it while calculating my posts.  Smiley

I'm afraid this has nothing to do with threads or posts being deleted. It looks more like a bug in the counting routine of the forum engine which doesn't count posts correctly. I read a few threads over here some time ago where people had been complaining about losing like 1000 posts, I mean those big-time posters like Lauda and their likes. I also lost like 1 post, but I post with a safety margin, so to speak, and thus my post count should be okay.

There's no bug here. When any useless thread gets trashcanned by mods, your post count will decrease as well, without you being notified. We will never count or pay for deleted posts obviously. Try not to post in any of those threads to prevent such issues in future.

Post counts will always be calculated as [ending post count - starting post count].

The campaign is full at the moment.
I think you have misunderstood what I meant. When you are counting my post like ending - starting count you are missing a few posts of mine. I have done 25 posts in the period of 20th Dec to 26th Dec. But the end post count shows less because some posts before 20th december got deleted. Why am I getting a less credit due to such post reductions which didnt even took place this week.

143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Crypto Lending on: December 26, 2017, 09:02:21 PM
I just noticed a few sites that offer services of Crypto lending
eg
Bitconex

etc
thoughts on these services? anyone use? sketchy? scams? thanks
Even top exchanges like poloniex also support crypto lending. However these only limit the borrowers to trade over the exchange not outside it. But now we are coming up with some specifically target lending systems like SALT and even TRST. But legitimacy is still not guaranteed. Crypto is not like fiat once gone from your wallet there is no way you can find them back.
144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to sell? on: December 26, 2017, 08:56:31 PM
in my opinion, if you need money then sell it, but if not try to hold it. because like now the bitcoin value is not yhat much compare last few weeks. but if you think this is the right time to sell and you think that you gain profit in your bitcoin, its your choice if you sell it or not.

I'm living by this rule. I have been trading BTC but ended up scoring smaller income than I would by holding. If something is going up and up like BTC with its year long uptrend, you're much better just holding it and selling from time to time to treat yourself to something nice. If you're not an experienced traders don't concern yourself with short term drops and keep holding.
There is no time to sell BTC now. We are back into boom now wait for the next correction to sell to atleast make some marginal profit. As you can see due to upcoming fork btc has again taken a rising road and become bullish even after Christmas. Its not sure that whether such a change is momentary and we could see a correction back again or not.
145  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FIFO for one crypto and LIFO for another? on: December 26, 2017, 08:41:48 PM
I know that the IRS has specified that calculating your gains on bitcoin you should use FIFO or LIFO as long as you are consistent.

But can you choose FIFO for bitcoin and then use LIFO for litecoin?

The case use would be that you use FIFO and have fiat on an exchange that you want to move to another exchange but if you buy bitcoins then transfer to another exchange and sell you would be selling coins you bought years ago, not the coins you just bought. Thus requiring double capital gains.

But if you buy litecoins, transfer to another exchange and sell the litecoins using LIFO then you would have zero capital gains on the transfer.
LIFO would be best if you want to just defer your tax expenditure while if you are looking to cut out on some tax then FIFO would work fine by atleast averaging up your earnings after each successful fiat withdrawal or else your capital gain will keep on increasing under LIFO until you withdraw almost everything.
146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to earn monthly income with Bitcoin/Altcoin trading?? on: December 26, 2017, 07:40:49 PM
I have heard about some cloud miner the legit ones there a just handful of them but they really do give you some good amount of fixed return or else if you want to keep your money just in your own hand then obviously as you said trading is best. But there is nothing like a fixed return like a term deposit.  You need to regularly monitor market to ensure that the coin you have bought is rewarding and when is it going downwards. For this you can either learn a bit TA by yourself or entrust some other signals group to help you out in the venture.
147  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin the next big thing? on: December 26, 2017, 07:30:32 PM
For those who argue that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are the next big things, buying and investing in Bitcoin might just pay off. Bitcoin might excel if currencies like the dollar et al trips under a hyperinflation scenario but that for now is not visibly an option that is available, thus, another fundamental question is wether Bitcoin can replace normal currencies and that again is not feasible in the nearest future. Why then should people invest in or buy a currency that can rise or fall by 20 percent in an hour or two?
Bitcoin can replace fiat currencies. This is really the most hot question in town these days. Lets keep the volatility of bitcoin aside because the whole crowd hasn't  yet joined the party. What are the other cons that it faces? the transaction fees! You need to pay around 10% of the money you are sending in form of a fees? While this amount in fiat is just $0.1 while doing NEFT/RTGS. Then comes the problem of time of transaction. Who will be willing to spend hours just checking whether the transaction has confirmed or not. So its impossible to use such a currency as a daily means of trade settlement.
148  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The SEC Crackdown on Suspicious Cryptocurrencies Is Getting Serious on: December 26, 2017, 07:20:53 PM
The US government, SEC and FINRA, are actually not being as heavy handed as they could be. They are also, in the same respect, not as knowledgeable as they could be in regards to putting out their rulings. Though they are trying to regulate moderately in an effort to stop the scammers from proliferating to US customers. Any company that wants to start and pander to US customers needs to have their ducks in a row before accepting US customers and be able to show they are above board. The SEC only got involved after the DAO hack anyway, which did fall loosely into their realm when it came to securities.

One thing for sure is that we could do away with the government and since the government is also playing a good role that can benefit all of us then I have no problem when these people are just doing their job. We need the government too implement regulations and laws with the aim of protecting innocent investors who can be exposed to scam artists as definitely scammers are now also partying in cryptocurrency. Right now, cryptocurrency is still in the Wild, Wild West stage but this should not last as many can be abusing such a set-up for their own personal gains. We need regulations as long as they are not actually killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.
We say that govt. must draft regulations for it. I do understand that such laws are great for the world of bitcoin but frankly speaking that the very boasted idea of P2P network is obviously under threat. P2P means its absolutely among two persons that how they choose and what they choose if we bring in this regulation then we are actually bringing a centralized system to cryptos too.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoins taxable? on: December 26, 2017, 07:07:45 PM
Let's Bitcoin takes off. Say you lived in the US and had an online service that dealt in the equivalent of ~20,000 USD or more income for you (personally). What are the laws for income tax on a currency like this? Can you get in trouble with the IRS by simply having tons of BTC that the market values at (currently) almost 5$ per BTC?
Currently united states don't have any specific tax on bitcoin or doesn't declare BTC to be taxable separate from other income. So you can pay a combined tax on it. I mean you can club the btc income along with your other incomes and calculate normal tax as per the slab rates on it.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Q for Bitcoin gamblers. Are you affected by high transaction fees? on: December 26, 2017, 07:04:20 PM
I asked the same question for the Bitcoin casino representatives here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2595617.0

But I did not get many, or any, answers from them. Hahaha. Maybe they do not want to admit it, but of course it affects them and most importantly also you!

First I want to get some feed back from you, the users. How negatively affected are you by the high fees in the Bitcoin network? Does it make you stop gambling?

The good news is there is a solution for that problem. It is using Segwit! Let us campaign and start asking our favorite gambling sites to have Segwit enabled and implemented.

For the users, my advice would be to stop using Blockchain.info and replace it with GreenAddress.it. If you are using a mobile wallet, use Samourai. If you want to make a Segwit enabled wallet in Electrum with the standard "3 addresses" then follow these steps

Quote
Generate a BIP39, 12 words seed on https://iancoleman.io/bip39/, you can also use it offline for more security.

On electrum choose, create new wallet, I already have a seed, then on "options" choose BIP39, paste the seed then click next.

On derivation path path use: m/49'/0'/0'/0

Easy! Tell your friends to do the same.
Yes ofcourse it matters a lot. Sending a new sum of money to gamble or withdrawing some profits from gamble requires us to pay a lot of fees. Things become worse for a small gambler who doesn't uses much funds as this uses a lot from the earned funds. High fees are affecting everybody including gamblers as well.
I am not and high fees do not concern me at all. A successful gambler should think more of how to come out in profit rather than noticing if the fees are somewhat higher. It is not the fees that are affecting our gambling sessions but the outcome of our bets. If you think the fees are high enough, deposit all your monthly bankroll at once and keep playing for a month. You will only pay fees once rather than adding deposits every week. There are a lot of workarounds for this point.

I agree though altcoins are a great alternative which casinos should start thinking about.
Its not about being a good trader. Fees are useless. I mean high fees are just useless moreover many gambling portals charge immense fees. There are just like a burning hole in your pocket.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: losing 50 bitcoins gambling on: December 26, 2017, 06:58:07 PM
I think either you are having some large bitcoin cold storage reserves which really make you fearless and you gamble so much bitcoins or you are a lunatic just throwing away the most precious asset one could have. If I would have 50 bitcoin I would just shut up and live peacefully even if you want to do something better try trading it over an exchange. Atleast you have a very good chance of earning profits.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will this affect sports gambling ? on: December 26, 2017, 06:13:03 PM
For the football fans, especially those who play sports gambling, In your opinion : what has happeed  last summer in the transfer window and the price explosion of players. We witnessd, and for the first time in history, a transfer cost more than 200 000 000 euro !  That transfer affected  the price even of normal players, like Romelu lukaku who left for Man united for 100 000 000 euro. Do you think all that will have a good or bad result on gambling ?
Such things are absolutely unrelated to Gambling world. Transfer expenses of player just bring players to lime light which increases their expectations to play except this there is no way that these things ignite something in gambling world. Moreover, I think such threads belong to others section it has nothing to do with btc gambling.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you care? on: December 26, 2017, 06:05:08 PM
people go to a real casino to have fun for just being there, and if they want money they will play some real games like Poker not slots. and also they have no way of knowing if a game in a casino is legit or not.

but when it comes to an online gambling site, there are very easy ways of verifying the bets and making sure you are not being ripped off so why shouldn't we take the chance and demand a provably fair system that is legit?

and trust me, there are a lot of real scammers out there trying to rob you of your bitcoin. and we care because we don't want to just hand them our money easily.
How do you determine that such a provably fair system exist? I mean apart from a few reviewers claiming that such a website is fair. I agree there are lot of scammers to rip off money. moreover in this crypto market which is unregulated number of such scammers substantially increases.

Moreover just a few wins can't really determine whether the system is fair. I mean what are the parameters you consider to determine such a system?

155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: December 20, 2017, 07:37:06 PM
This is the most difficult thing for any gamble to control the greed in gambling. Moreover, this greed increases if you win and then begin to lose continuously. There is seriously no remedy to such greed except to just keep a set amount of money or time to be devoted to gambling. Don't ever try to increase this time frame or this monetary frame. You will find yourself much better after some time.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I always lose all my tokens and btc on gambling~ on: December 20, 2017, 07:33:15 PM
I guess, gambling is not actually for me.
I kinda feel bad on all the tokens wasted on gambling but it's kinda my "when I'm bored" hobby.
Do you guys have any tips on how to not to lose all you tokens on gambling?
There are no tips in gambling except that gamble only the amount which you can afford to gamble and don't make it a habit. Also try to change gambling sites. Some gambling sites up there are merely for shrinking up your money. Also don't do a lot of gambling at same time. The algos are made this way that they make people at various times a day. Even after this you still feel lost then you better leave it.

158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin gambling is legal? on: December 20, 2017, 03:21:21 PM
In a world where people aren't able to determine whether BTC is legal itself you are asking whether its gambling is illegal LOL. In most of countries with an exception to some Gambling is quite much illegal. Moreover BTC gambling which is absolutely unregulated is somewhat more illegal but most countries might not have appropriate laws for it.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to advertise gambling site on: December 20, 2017, 03:11:44 PM
Hello,

I am an admin of wheel99.com

To celebrate our 1millionth spin, we created a new theme (design).
We are also looking to promote our site in several ways.
a giveaway, a contest and others are planned.

Do you guys have ideas how to promote our site?

Kind regards,

Steffson

You can make your own announcement thread about your gambling site on gambling section here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=56.0 and for promotion, giveaway, contest or something like that you can post it on games and round section here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=71.0.
Best place to advertise bitcoin gambling site is this forum itself. Most of the biggest crypto gambling sites advertise here with some longest running signature campaigns. Bitsler, fortunejack, Jetwin are just a few of them. Signature wearers post everywhere on the forum thus popularizing your website in an indirect way.
160  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical World Of Bitcoin And Its Difficulties on: December 19, 2017, 07:26:12 PM
From many months i am thinking about what if " we remove fiat system , and change things into crypto " .. What are the main difficulties we will face ?

1. Internet every where is not yet done.
2. Awareness with Crypto ( but its not a big thing, as most are aware of how to use currency. )
3. Bitcoin is only 21,000,000 and world population is more. ( This can fix by other altcoins same like USD/RUB/CNY etc )

What other difficulties we can face ?

the biggest difficulty we would face is to create as well as implement a proper system of taxation where people using BTC could be taxed. Another major problem is regarding controlling the money supply in the economy. I don't know if you know it or not the central authorities regulate the supply of money in the economy to ensure that inflation doesn't magically upsurges this is impossible with bitcoin.
