Why every newbie buy from bit main
You will never roi
Because diff go so up
Because of bit main hardware
So the only which is earn is bitmain no one else
You never roi your money you spent

I take this as a hobbie and it will roi.  Anyway what are you doing here if you hate bitmain?

Most of my S1 Antminers did reach ROI. Bitmain miners have a very competitive cost/GH/sec as well as high reliability, no wonder that there was a massive response to the S3 launch. And yes, it is a hobby.

Cheers

But the problem is that one card of one of S3's is not working at all!

I have checked everything power, cabling, anything I can imagine but it persist and not working at all!

Any ideas what should I do?

Did you try moving the cables to the other ports?

Otherwise,  I would open it up and look for any loose connections. Sometimes things get knocked loose during shipping.

Yes, tried it and open it up as well but found no problem yet!
Checked the controller cable, changed it with the other one! But absolutely nothing happened yet!

It happen during shipping with one of my S1, check for any loose capacitors or inductors on pcb.

there is no shipment problem seems on the device.
But I found a clue.
I connected control cable from main-board Socket-1 to Board 2 and from socket-2 to Board 1.

Now the other board is mining and it's temperature increased.

So it's obvious that there is some problem in mainboard and the Asic Boards and cables are ok.
Looks like its time to swap cables between your 'good' unit and the 'bad' one.  Maybe its just a single faulty ribbon cable between the controller and the hashing boards.

Cheers

ribbon cables are ok. tried this before.
If it's not some obvious workmanship problem related to the main-board connector (dry solder joint on the socket to the 'bad' board), then it's probably an RMA issue with BITMAIN.  If you want to prove this 'beyond doubt' you could swap controller boards between your 2 Antminers. Ideally they would provide the replacement main-board so that you can continue mining with the 'half' miner while the replacement is shipped to your rather than loosing the whole turn-around time.

Cheers

As you told I replaced the mainboard of bad device with main board of good device and now the device is working with two asic boards ok, so it's obvious that the main board of the bad device have some problem.
I will ask bitmain for a replacement for mainboard and while then my device can mine half capacity. Sad

Thanks a lot guys!

Hi,

RMA request is accepted, PMed you just now.

Thank you! you can send it with my other orders.
Looks like the script for a 'happy end' Smiley
Congrats!

What happens if you connect the cables from your PSU that worked with the 'good' unit just to the 'bad' unit?  (checking the possibility that there is some issue in your PSU or its cables)

As I am still waiting for any notification about my B1 order, so have tried to tally up the current status for B1 orders:

Found 60 people that posted about their B1 orders.
Of these 31.7% received their S3's.
51.7% got shipping notification (including arrival)
21.7% received shipping notification, but no arrival yet
45% got no notification so far (neither from Bitmain's web site nor through UPS tracking by reference)

Looks like Bitmain is slipping slightly behind the previous prediction of 14-17th July shipping of B1 orders.

Cheers

31.7 + 51.7 + 21.7 + 45 = 150.1 %

Thanks for spotting that...Smiley
There is some 'double counting', as the 51.7% covers notification& arrival (as it says in the post), if you add 31.7%+21.7%+45% you get close to 100% (the original calculation was a bit more involved, as there are 2 type of notification - Bitmain's and UPS, which did not always line-up).
The intent was to give a 'broad picture' of the delivery status at that time.

By the way, in the last couple of hours I received my notification, initially through UPS and then at Bitmain (however my B1 delivery is still waiting for UPS pickup).

Cheers

Hooray. Bitmain is showing my B1 order as shipped now. Ups has not picked it up yet, but the label is printed.

I'm hoping the extra wait was worth it. Like they fixed some of the issues,  we will see.
Same here, first saw it on UPS, then it showed up on Bitmain.  Only label raised, package is still with Bitmain, but it is definitely a step forward.  Looks like there is some overlap between B1 and B2 shipping.

Cheers

Hi there guys,

I just want to publicly thank everyone that helped me with the setup of my miners.  They are both happily hashing away.

Thanks guys.
Congrats!  Happy hashing!

This is 3 days ago:

I had one of the 20 pieces damaged:

This is probably because of the TLC (tender loving care) of the fellows from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJdZgQwRMBk
Consider yourself lucky that only one of your order got damaged, and hopefully its just the fan.  You can ask Bitmain for assistance as suggested already.

I hope that my S3's are not among the victims of that baggage handler...

Just checked on UPS and my B1 order (paid 2014-06-30 21:43) just had a shipping label opened.  Still nothing on Bitmain account, but this shows that there is some progress.

Just out of curiosity did you check ups directly by tracking by reference(bitmain order number)? Mine was in ups a good day befor I got the email or it showed shipped on the bitmain site.
Tried to check on UPS using 'tracking by reference' with the Bitmain order number, but nothing is found.  My B1 order was paid on: 2014-06-30 21:43.

My B1 order from 30 June 2014 21:40 (21:43 paid) is still unshipped.  Tried order number on UPS, but nothing there either.
BITMAIN - can you give us a quick update on the shipping?

set it to link on my wan, lan and even wwan its getting packets from the internet but still no mining Sad
Did you check that your Antminer IP is now within the IP range supported by your router?
It's unclear what do you mean by 'set it to link' - if it's like the S1 you don't need to 'link' the WAN with the LAN or the WWAN  (I never touch the LAN or WWAN, and the S1 guides have some instructions that the LAN and WAN cannot be on the same IP segment).
Are you sure that you entered your pool information 100% correctly?  (made a small typo in the rush to setup my first S1, it took a few minutes of stress to find the slight error and fix it).
Maybe you should reset it to factory defaults and start all over again.

Cheers

I have managed to get into one miner and added my config, but its not actually mining.  also anyone know what the ip is for the 2nd ant?
They both have the same factory settings.  You probably need to change the IP of the 1st one from default (192.168.1.99 according to the manual) so that it doesn't clash with the 2nd one. (same as for multiple S1's).
