143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Auto Switching Pool for CPU Coins? on: February 04, 2014, 03:24:21 PM
I know the CPU coins are based on a few different algos, but does anyone know of an auto- or manual switching pool for quark-based coins, or other CPU algos? Similar to Multi-Pool, or Middlecoin or HashCowa.

Would really love to see a service like this.

Good idea, currently there is non but would be really good to have it..
144  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 280x cards power usage? on: February 04, 2014, 03:04:53 PM
how much power is needed to run 3pieces radeon  280x cards?
700w too small power?

Suggest to go at least 1000w. If you overclock much then a single card can draw up to 350w
145  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PCIE risers or not? on: January 29, 2014, 12:17:17 PM
Hey guys,

I'm about to buy components for a litecoin rig and this is really confusing.
I want to buy the asrock extreme 4 with 3 pcie x16 slots and i want to put that into a haf 932 advanced.
Do i need risers for 3 r9 290, even if it's on x16 slots and they have enough wattage?
HAF932 is really really well ventilated.

Thanks

for 3 you don't need a riser. Unless you are going to force overclock it...
146  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambled away my tuition bitcoins on: January 29, 2014, 12:15:46 PM
I feel like a fool right now and I really need to just talk about this. This isn't an attempt solicit donations.

I didn't lose a ridiculous amount of money. In fact, I *only* lost about 6 bitcoins, which would currently equate to about 4,800 dollars. But the problem is that as a full-time university student, this was 90% of my savings. And since student loans don't cover the full cost of my expenses, I don't have any money after this semester.

I was never a gambler. I've never gone to a casino. I've never played poker. Hell, I never even bought a lottery ticket. But for some reason when I saw a post about a website called just-dice.com, where you can bet bitcoins on a dice game, I was immediately hooked. I created a plan for myself - I said that I would play careful and control my bets. I would withdraw BTC after winning 50% of my initial deposit. Everything was going rather smoothly; although I went down a few times, I ended up hitting 9.5 bitcoins yesterday.

But then I couldn't control myself and thought that I could keep going, even in face of mathematical logic. I lost 1.5 bitcoins. Then I deposted two more. I lost those too. Then again the same. Until I saw all my money vanish and I realized the horror of what I had done. In case anyone is curious, here are images of the majority of the dice bets. (-5.57 total bitcoins) http://imgur.com/a/taf7G

I didn't sleep last night and all I could think about during class today was how much of a loser and moron I am. I just hate myself for throwing away my own hard-earned money.

More importantly is that you remember your mistake and don't repeat it. Bunch of people telling you the "right way to gamble" but they are all wrong. Because there is a house edge....
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1000w for 3x r9 290 on: January 26, 2014, 02:57:24 PM
As the title implies: Will be able to power 3x r9 290 with a single 1000w PSU? I can get this Tesla R2 1000W for rather cheap.

Yes it should work, but don't overclock too much cause it would draw even more power...

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 x R9 270 + 2 x 7870 PSU? on: January 16, 2014, 01:35:08 AM
Hey guys what size PSU would I need for 2 x 270s and 2 x 7870s? (total 4 gpus)
Rest of the rig is:

Athlon II X2 240
Asus M5a97 Le R2.0
4gb DDR3
1 7200rpm HDD

I tried with a few calculators online but they're throwing something like 650W which I think it's too low, isn't it?
Do you think a 850W psu will do?

Appreciate your help guys, cheers

850W should be enough but I would go with 1000W cause I don't want PSU to run hot!!
151  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it a good idea to drop out from college and invest in Crypto Currencies? on: January 16, 2014, 01:33:24 AM
Yeah, I'm in sort of a dilemma. I'm having a hard time paying the college fees and I plan to drop out and invest in BTC.

It really depends what year you are in. If it is just the first year you can consider Smiley
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Middlecoin.com - Anyone use this site? on: January 12, 2014, 10:53:42 AM
I just discovered Middlecoin.com.  Seems like a pretty cool idea.  Anyone use it?  Is it reliable?  Do you feel like you're getting your hashes-worth?

I am using it but the profit is pretty low these few weeks.. Prefer to mine alt coin directly..
153  Economy / Economics / Re: $42,000 dollars to buy Bitcoin and Litecoin - Time to buy? on: January 12, 2014, 10:52:01 AM
Hello everyone, in January 18 I will finalize the selling of an apartment here in Brazil which I will receive R$ 100,000, about $42,000 dollars, which I will invest half in litecoins and half in bitcoins

In recent days the bitcoin and litecoin increased, can we expect a new "crash" ?

What is the better time to buy bitcoins and litecoins??

Opinions are welcome, I do no what I do, buy now or wait  Huh
Thanks to all

Buy immediately on Jan 18, but only 25% on Bitcoin and 25% on Litecoin, the other 50% use it for cost averaging in case it drop..

Hey everyone, hope all is good with you people. I've learned a lot on this site and even though I haven't post too often I've been taking in a lot of useful information from all the threads throughout the year. Silently watching what others are doing.

I just want to leave everyone with this: TRUST NO ONE, NOT EVEN MODS, ADMIN, HERO MEMBERS, 100+ FEEDBACK, Whatever doesn't matter. They will just slowly gain the community's trust and then BAMM!!!

I hope no one else is foolish enough to trust the feedback system on this forum, it's a complete and total joke. Have a good year everyone.

How much BTC you lost?

It is already easy to buy and sell bitcoin now...
