141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcjam.com How do we know the interest we are paid on: March 14, 2015, 06:18:40 PM
The APR stands for the Annual Percentage Rate. APR is a financial calculation that measures how much interest you receive on yearly (annual) basis if the loan was to be outstanding for a year.

The expected loss is the amount BTCjam expects you to lose as a result of loan defaults, if their algorithm is accurate then if you invest in a large population of similarly risked loans then, on average you will lose the expected loss amount.

The Rate (in the middle where it says Amount @ Rate) is how much interest will be paid as a percentage of the principle. The loan in the OP is currently offering 5%
142  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .5btc loan *No Collateral* on: March 13, 2015, 05:29:02 AM
If I had to make an educated decision on this user, I would say he is infact using the loans to gamble.
He has appeared to pay his loans bac thus far.. I am not sure if his account would be worth collateral in this..?
Always use caution when trading!
It really don't matter if his account is worth the amount of the loan because he is not giving up control of his account. What matters is if his reputation is worth the amount of the loan he is trying to take out, and it is not, at least IMO
143  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .5btc loan *No Collateral* on: March 13, 2015, 04:44:33 AM
If something goes wrong would inform the lender ASAP
This appears to be a gambling loan to me. My interpretation of this statement is that you will contact the lender in the event that you bust while gambling.

I have noticed, like others above have, that you have been taking out a large number of loans over the past several months, in increasing size, while taking out a second loan prior to the first loan becoming due. This would support the above theories that you are taking out confidence loans so you can eventually pull off a much larger scam

145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help needed - txn not get confirmed - on: March 12, 2015, 10:47:02 PM
In theory it will eventually confirm within a day or so. The mempool of unconfirmed transaction is roughly 5,000 kb right now so there is a bit of a backlog. It shouldn't take very much to clear most of that backlog of unconfirmed transactions and once it is cleared, your tx will have a greater chance of confirming because there is more available space in each block that the miners find.

This shows the importance of not accepting 0/unconfirmed transactions.
146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The MEGA Faucet List on: March 11, 2015, 09:59:54 PM
most are pretty lame, and dry out or dont pay out at all.

just sticking with the oldest known faucet like freebitco.in is the only hope for faucets.

I'm also fan of freebitco.in.
It's indeed a faucet that stays already for very long. Every week correct payout on sunday. Many others have come , but were quickly gone as well.
I don't like faucets where you have to earn a too big amount before they payout.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 11, 2015, 09:57:10 PM
At the current price of $297, I'd say you should have at least BTC15,000 to retire (that equates to ~$5,000,000). It's certainly possible to survive in retirement for less, but why retire (if you don't have to) if you can't enjoy it? A $5M target protects you from inflation of prices and the longevity that a healthy and happy retirement will provide.

If you want to live without a worry I'd work to get double that amount, BTC33,670!

That is good count.
But it is dangerous to keep the amount in bitcoin when you retire.
You never know that one day the price goes down and down ...
It's a bit risky to let everything in BTC. I should sell a big part for dollars. You never know.

My lady says i'm spending too much time here.
If i look ... i see : 22 days , 2 hours , and 35 minutes.
I'm not gonna tell her that you can see this on the forum. SSSSSSSStttt.
Women have always right, i have to admit.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT WITH BETASHAREX.COM ??? on: March 11, 2015, 09:46:02 PM
Hello dear,

betasharex.com is scam for me,the website is down from more than 24 hours, also my balance is 0 with lost of 0.31BTC
i lost 0.674BTCto in there, now the site has gone

Betasharex.com still not working. I think this is finished forever. Maybe best so.
I have also lost some coins. Not BTC, but my ufocoins. I wanted to change them there, because there are not much exchanges where you can exchange them.
Anyway it doesn't matter anymore. I think they are lost forever.
Now, i use cryptsy and poloniex.
WIth these two, i have never had problems until now.
Are there other good exchanges you can trust?
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" (Second Edition) VOTE on: March 11, 2015, 09:32:10 PM
As guldencoin is not in the list, i have voted for Unobtanium.
Don't know why exactly, but i have always been fan of these coins.
151  Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 by Sunday on: March 11, 2015, 09:29:39 PM
If we can stay above 300$ at least 3 days, 350$ is possible of course. I think 400 will come too fast.

Let's hope it keeps on going up.
Has somebody an explanation for the price of the last days?
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BET] BETACOIN - SHA256 COIN | POW | 32mln + 0,39% annual | NO PREMINE on: March 11, 2015, 09:22:57 PM
I don't mine betacoin at this moment.
I wanted to send some coins yesterday to an exchange, but the transaction stay unconfirmed. I'm about 34 hours behind now, thougt i have 7 connections to the network.
But that could indeed be the reason as you explained in the post above.
Thanks for the explanation.

You are not behind. You are in sync. The wallet just shows that message when the last block has been download over 6~8 hours. It will say out of sync even through you are on the current block and 'in sync'.

About once a day (or every other day) the iSpace multi pool mines Betacoin so if you send those coins they will get there once iSpace starts mining Betacoin again.

http://ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=bet

It's a strange wallet of betacoin.
Yesterday i was at a moment complete synchronized and had 2 of 6 confirms for the transaction i wanted to do.
But it stopped with these 2 confirms.
Now again 25 hours behind, 6 connections with the network.
And maybe in a few hours or tommorrow, again up to date with again 2 confirms?
Is this normal. At that speed i have to wait a whole week almost to get a transaction corfirmed.

You were completely right.
My wallet is complete up to date.
The transaction is also almost confirmed.
Thanks for the explanation. I was a bit scared i lost my coins.

It is like i thought.
A new upload a few hours ago. Now i have 2 more confirms. That means 4 of the 6 confirms for my transaction.
I think i will still have to wait 2 days before my transaction is confirmed completely.
Now i am 5 hours behind, and 6 connections to the network.

Still not confirmed. 18 hours behind at this moment.
I think it's not gonna be for today anymore.
It's long waiting before my transaction is complete confirmed.
I wanted to exchange them for another coin, but the prices buy/sell have already changed a bit in 4 or 5 days.
Hope for tomorrow.

Very nice list you have made.
Not often seen such a large list.

Download is complete.
Thanks for helping me.
My coins are again in my balance.

Tim C

Thanks for the explanation.

I never had this before with most of the other coins.
