What unique services can Argentim offer, or implement via the blockchain? Probably nothing that hasn't already been done, but, Argentum is fairly unique in that it supports 10MB blocks, and 100k signiture operations per block. I'm still learning about what signifigance it has besides not having the limitations Bitcoin has with a smaller block size, but we should put it to use somehow.

This feature doesn't need to be added because it's already there.
At your console prompt type: 'splitthreshold 1000' and blocks won't split any more when they are smaller than 1000.
You can choose any threshold you like as long as it is smaller then the total amount you own on that address divided by 500
So in order to use 1000 as a splitthreshold you need at least 500x1000= 500.000 HBN
As you understand, this is a perk for people who own a lot of HBN because the big wallets provide most of the safety for the HBN blockchain.
So everyone who is tired of manually combining, buy more HBN and let it handle itself. It's not that HBN is very expensive right now..
BTW, the same thing goes for 'combinethreshold 1000' to combine smaller blocks when they stake. This one goes as far as your stash divided by 250.

Yes, the coin could use some maintenance, but nobody wants to do it. The only thing that needs to happen is HBN users quit microstaking small amounts which is what is killing the sync with orphans. If everyone would just use coin control, to correct the orphan issue the network would run smoothly. Combine your coins into blocks of a minimum of 5000 or 6000 HBN per Block and sync will return to normal.  A great feature to add would be auto combine. |

DB error fix and Kimoto should be priority fix (ASAP), along with any other hard forks. Speaking of hard forks, is there anything else we should look into that would require a hard fork? What do you guys think of the block reward? I'm unsure how I feel about the random 1-5 these days.
Cheers for the heads-up re typo cryptmebro, Yes I was thinking of changing the block reward at some point but like I said I just want to get the fixes sorted first, then ask the community what they would like, then put them to a vote. This update will be on the same code base as the current build so that things can be done quickly with minimum hassle. the next one will try to bring us as close to the current code base as we can get as well as any changes that we want implemented. And I am looking to get DarkGraityWave in this update instead of Kimoto, I think its a better Diff algo. if its doable. Crypt hmmm, yeah, I guess I was going about it backwards. |
