141  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Where is the Blockchain Apple App? Its been over a month. on: July 14, 2014, 11:08:21 AM
I guess they don't want to get in on the biggest mobile market in the world.

Bummer.

I heard that android is now on 80% of mobile devices sold,  and blockchain.info have had the the android app out for ages so I pretty sure you can say they are 'in' on it already.

not only that, Blockchain.info are still offering the app wallet if your idevice runs cydia and also many people still have the old copy on there iphone already from before it was removed from itunes.

Finally considering that a lot of bitcoin users hate everything apple stands for, i'd think this is a smaller percentage of the potential market that you are imagining.

edit:  i have had the iphone 4 for few years now so i don't necessarily dislike apple, well, no more that I dislike google/android.

I totally get that a lot of folks involved in bitcoin are the sort to loathe Apple's "walled garden" approach to apps, but at the same time, is not the goal here for bitcoin to go mainstream? Well crafted wallet apps from reputable, reliable sources are truly needed to further adoption, don't you think?

So we got any official reps here from Black Arrow besides OP?

David has been on here he's from BA. Been a hot minute since he's chimed in though.

Other than that, just resellers stuck in the same quagmire as everyone else.
143  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Where is the Blockchain Apple App? Its been over a month. on: July 14, 2014, 04:21:26 AM
Valid point. I wonder if it's stuck in approval?

I still have the old one working, wrong aspect ratio and all.  Grin

Batch 1. 2x X1s. Paid in full in November. Order# is in the very early 900s. No idea whats going on with my order.

I've been lurking over here for ages now (> 8 months) and have read every single post. Very disappointed with the way things have turned out. I'm refraining from purchasing a psu for my compensation unit because:
- dont want to sink any additional money into this fiasco.
- dont even know when the compensation units will ship.
- I have a spare 750w psu that I could possibly use if BA stayed true to their word (lol) and provided instructions on how to jury rig these (or provide an adapter).

Just...so...disappointed.

The PSU's are what sealed the deal for me in canceling. Even the included one.
I have the rest of my hardware running off 80Plus gold PSU's and have seen a dramatic increase in efficiency.

The internal PSU is nice and all but at the end of the day efficiency is king. The less power it uses, the more ROI I get. I wish they had made an adapter plate for plugging in molex connectors. Might have even kept my order.

http://www.cardreaderfactory.com/shop/about-us.html?sl=EN   "CardReaderFactory is a trading name for Merlion Holdings Limited"
http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03016878 - says this company is dissolved / wound up.

Amazing... This is the last question I'm answering on this topic. Please do your proper checks in the future.
Please use the government's official website: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk

CardReaderFactory is a trading name, is not a company.
BByte LTD is the company in UK. (company number 07035674).
CardReaderFactory LTD company's number is 08125672, not 03016878. This was created only to protect the name; don't expect to get invoices from this company.

Once again, we are NOT based in the UK. BByte is a reseller

Alex Sovu IS BByte and OWNER of Black Arrow.

What part of Black-Arrow-is-a-scam-written-all-over-it from the very get-go didn't anybody who ordered from them not understand?

I mean, maybe I should have been worried a few months ago when I discovered this company used to sell equipment for credit-card-skimming. What do you think CardReaderFactory is? Why would people pay several thousand dollars for a few bucks of hardware that happens to be a very tiny credit card reader.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Shocked

146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 11, 2014, 10:31:08 PM
Lucky you kept trying to get that solution but they kept saying no but I'm now in the group buy so we'll see.

I mean, they offered me credit when I had inquired about the possibility of a refund on the 1st. I opted to wait it out for a bit but here we are delivery date still unclear, happily they kept their word. I'd imagine they'd hesitate to issue a credit to someone who is asking now for the first time once shipping has begun.

I'd wager that if the next pallet's tracking info isn't updated in the next few days they might give you credit after all.

Minersource was put in a tough spot by black arrow and I'm glad they honored my request.
147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 11, 2014, 08:00:31 PM
Well boys and girls - it's been real but I jumped ship and successfully cancelled for credit. Got a unit with more than double the hashrate for the same cost, which has already shipped.

To those of you still aboard - god speed.

The minersource site is saying tracking numbers have been issued for the first X1's. Good news.

Except I'm batch one and I still don't have a tracking number. Bobsag, is the next batch enroute to you or no information on that yet?

No information yet, and I havent finished generating labels for this batch yet. Only got about ~35 orders processed so far.

Oh - okay I misunderstood. That's better news. I'll keep crossing my fingers that I'm in this batch. Thanks for the update.

Putting the pump RIGHT on the center of the hot zone should keep it alive longer and a pond pump may not die as easily (we used aquarium pumps)

Wally World has Bilge pums for dirt cheap, and their flow is 10x better. Smiley CMON! Smiley

I never thought my rating as a US Coast Guard licensed captain would have a use on this board, however here goes:

While the flow rating on bilge pumps is higher they are designed to be activated by a float switch and then rapidly clear water from the hull of a vessel. Once the water is gone they shut off. The upshot of it all is your average Rule bilge pump is not rated for continuous operation. Running it 24x7 I would not be shocked if it burned out within a month. Your mileage may vary and it's been 5 years since I worked the water - but a pond circulator pump seems way better.
152  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: June 30, 2014, 11:45:10 PM
I'm just trying to be patient and wait it out. I won't ask minersource for a refund unless as a last resort. However I would be open to the option of a hardware exchange (dollar for dollar). Or even a cloud mining option if minersource was to offer one on a temporary basis. Considering $429 (wire transfer and shipping fees) total for 100 GH while they currently have the S1 180 GH for $195..

For what it's worth they offered me a dollar-amount gift card. Tempting, with the S3 coming out. But IDK man, I ordered this thing with play money and I want it.

I know some people here made investments and - frankly at this point - lost. And my heart goes out to them.

While I agree with you 100% and have had nothing but happy dealings with MinerSource, they chose to partner with the likes of BA, and frankly, it doesn't really matter who has my money, as a US citizen who formed an agreement with a US company to deliver goods, they are bound by US laws to refund me if I so choose.  I think you are confusing people as being disgruntled with MinerSource when that is not the problem, but, I can either choose to wait and receive machines that have a 75% chance of not returning what I invested in them over a 6+ month period, or I can get my money back today.  You would have to be a fool at this point to trust BA with any more money or to even deliver a proper product.

I mean, the "Minersource chose to be a partner with the likes of BA" doesn't really hold up because by the same account you chose to order a BA product. Are we to hold ourselves accountable?

Well yeah actually to a certain extent we are - we ordered pre-order bitcoin hardware knowing the past. It's a fine line between "we were lied to" and "we got the most accurate estimate they had that turned out to be inaccurate". I'm not going to litter this forum with even a passing defense of black arrow. I might have In June but we're well into july in China and batch 1 hasn't even shipped. That's pretty inexcusable no matter the circumstance.

But I think the resellers made the same choice we did, and they - and we - kind of lost.

I hope to hear that Minersource has tracking numbers this week. I'm not holding my breath.

Got an email back from MS.

Black arrow indeed did not ship Friday and they are hesitant to provide an updated eta.

Not to anyone's surprise.

He did seem to leave the door open for a refund. I feel bad for minersource having gotten in the middle of this. They're a good reseller, and now it seems whenever they have pre orders now they guarantee the ship date.

I opted to wait it out for now.

You know what, I drafted up a refund email but like, F it. I'm riding this ship to the ground. I only have one X1 ordered and I've basically already written off the cost of it.

I'm pretty damn furious about the delays but nuts to this. I want to see how this ship runs aground.

Just imagine if they give some kind of crazy compensation plan? (I can dream right.)

Bitmain just dropped their bomb today... and the price is only going down with them. The S3 is a long term investment too. BA has to do something... or they are just going to be making equipment for them to mine themselves.

I mean, I'm definitely buying an S3 no matter what.  Grin

156  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free unlimited electricity... where to start? on: June 29, 2014, 03:53:21 PM
if you dont want to waste much time and money best is to buy a few Antminer S1
they are cheep and trouble free.
Then when you make some money and understand how it works buy all the end of life
equipment on the bay and put them to work...

This: Everyone is going to be selling their antminers in the next few months because they aren't profitable.

Yet, with free electricity - they sure are profitable.

so which ports should we be using? i have 5 GAW furys. someone on hashtrader.com told me to try port 4444 because its more compatible with the GAW miners. then i come here and see port 5555? confused.

Edit: im using the latest version of CGminer 4.3.5. compiled it last night.

As far as I know: Use 3333, if you have connection issues use 4444, and on either of them if your reject rate is quite high try 5555.

Maybe ur right...time will tell  Cheesy

I bought my first Bitcoins when it was 70$, should´ve bought more but everybody was saying i am crazy pay so much money for a virtual currency Wink

0.0030 hm ok, re-investing Smiley

I sold 231 BTC  when it was 2.93 Dollar  Lips sealed

And I thought I was bad for giving away 12 when they were $4. That blows dude.

But related to the service - I'd like to see an addition to the profile page that shows the original BTC cost of each contract. This way it could be easy to see your progress to ROI.

Just over 9 hours and still no block found...  This is overcompensating for the good luck we had.

Variance is variance. There are good streaks and there are bad streaks and in theory it all levels out.

But yeah, this block is a nail-biter, huh...  Undecided

EDIT: Almost simultaneously to me posting this we found 308482 :-) Here's hoping for a lucky streak to come.
