141  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: electricity rates on: June 08, 2014, 03:26:20 AM
i pay .0565 in Ohio thats just for power. Sad part is i pay .045 in other costs making the true cost around .1025 per kwh.  That really makes me upset I know my rate is good for power but i cannot believe distribution should cost the same as generating it or even that close to it.

Nice start to the new coin. I am holding a few to see what happens with it. Is there a list of dev's somewhere that I missed and what coins they worked with in the past.

Thanks

The cool thing is with the blockchain you can track government spending if they was using bitcoins or a like coin. Makes things much more transparent doesn't it. So we know the odds of getting most politicians to approve that is right around 0%. Hopefully more small countries become much more accountable then force the larger ones into with public pressure from seeing the results in other countries.

We can dream can't we lol

Man this coin is flying on polo as well its almost to 0.00002!  I bought in around 1400 Smiley going to stay up tonight with this one!  Some people are saying it could jump all the way to 0.0001 in the next few hours. I sure hope so Smiley

Why not research Curecoin it is very intriguing. Not so much the sha 256 stuff but the paid folding for medical research. Rumour has it the pay isn't bad at all. Hence why nobody is talking about it much probably Smiley

if you want to use pre existing hardware to mine. May I suggest almost any amd graphics cards and I suggest you mine x11 or x13 for now at least. Also nvidia 750ti is also a good choice ( or even better) if you want to mine x11 and x13. Hope this was a bit more helpfull.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can someone recommend me a nice profit switching pool please? on: June 07, 2014, 12:09:12 AM
I prefer trademybit and ipominer. Based on your not caring for multipool then forget ipominer as its a sister site to multipool.com  Both of them have paid on time and I have made good profit over time with both.

Merc from trademybit is very active and accountable to his customers. All multipools will return fairly similar numbers given competent leaders and similiar hash rates. I suggest you focus on one where you can get questions answered to your satisfaction quickly.

I think people will consider to mine at home. Worst case scenario some alt coins then sell them for btc. But as the chips increase in speed and decrease in power draw that will still allow for smaller miners. Problem is roi becomes more typical of a normal investment and most here don't have the patience or desire to earn only 3% per year on 1000 dollars (or more) nor do I Smiley

151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Noob Question on Mining on: June 06, 2014, 11:43:14 PM
question 1.

A lot of debate whether you could make a profit or not I am not going to get into that part. 1600 euro seems a little high at least if you convert from us prices. Not sure if its with vat and customs for you or not. Cheapest I have seen is around 1750 us delivered.

2.
I mine on Multipool.us it does profit switching. I make about 7% more than just mining btc. It is more work however because i have to sell coins on cryptsy(or anywhere you want that handles that coin) to cash completely out.

3. No idea sorry I don't trust that link to install anything and i would suggest you don't either Smiley No offense but I can't take chances on links.

Generally speaking any older stuff wouldnt be profitable. Typically the power draw would be to high and the hash rate would be far to low. I know of no old projects that would allow for profits at current difficult sorry Smiley

I don't believe you want to go to 14.6 a lot of people are reporting open cl is broken. It may show an increased hash rate but reports are they get all hw errors. But if you do try let us know Smiley

154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone else concerned that 43% of the hashrate is from an unknown source? on: June 06, 2014, 05:23:22 AM
There is no benefit. It happens all the time just like other's have pointed out. It could be 100 different reason's none of which is worth me worrying about. As long as its not one source and its been proven its not. It actually BENEFITS bitcoin blockchain not hurts I repeat it BENEFITS. So don't get all excited over nothing.

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 【Truth or FUD???】 DarkCoin – The Next Big Thing, or Just Another Pump and Dump? on: June 06, 2014, 03:41:43 AM
If darkcoin is a pump and dump its the longest pump and dump coin in crypto history. If you noticed most coins do this in the first week or two.  I also know a lot of people made a lot of money with this coin.

So the dev made money? Good at least he is still around working on the coin. Not many coins can say that 6 months in.  Please learn what a pump and dump is before you throw around terms you don;t understand.

Premine? Maybe maybe not. Pump and Dump no lol just no.

157  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining SHA-256 at multipool.us VS Buying Bitcoins on: June 05, 2014, 03:05:55 AM
I thought the same thing about mining on multipool.us when I noticed the numbers per day. Flound posted somewhere recently that the sha 256 numbers was not accurate on the predicted price per day. He said it was about 10% more on average.

Bitcoin Plus actually did much better after the original developer left the coin and Seriouscoin and his team took over. So it could actually be a benefit to you holders of Voot. Only time will tell however.

I would also point out that a lot of people likely have coins in their wallets staking.  That actually could help reduce volatility a bit.  With that said I would prefer a nice big jump back to maybe .02 then we can have slow and steady Smiley

Well at the very least my wallet is staking nicely Smiley Hopefully the devs can come up with something interesting to keep this coin going.  Perhaps in the coming weeks we shall see some signs of life.
