Just an update on the nVidia X11 mining support. The current github source code for ccMiner can do

2-2.2 MHash/s on GTX 750 Ti
4 MHash/s on GTX 780
4.6 MHash/s on GTX 780 Ti

Crypto mining blog does a decent job of testing out the new releases and providing binaries, whenever
we make interim source code only releases. http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/ccminer/

This isn't the end of the optimizations yet, as we've got a faster Groestl implementation in store
that we are not quite ready to share with the public yet. It would lift the 750 Ti to 2.8-3 MHash/s
and the GTX 780 to 5 MHash.

So AMD might now mean "A Mining Dinosaur" for some coins, X11 included.

Christian

Very nice ..this sound good

A, it's seriously time for me to retire mining.  I get maybe .01 coins a day, LOL.  I'll wait until I get a payout, then turning everything off.  Finally, after 5 months, I'll be back at gaming Cheesy  Yaaay!

Guys, my newly downloaded wallet does not sync... any idea? Sad

This link has latest wallet url.
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/postponing-masternode-payments-till-may-25th.578/

I agree with above.  It's been a while since I synced from scratch, but I remember needing to wait a long time, like an hour for my wallet to find the start.  Not sure why that happens.  Do make sure you have your config file made, and a few addnodes.

Here is what I have at the moment.

rpcuser=Me
rpcpassword=crazylongdonothavetorememberthispassphrase
server=1
addnode=54.80.16.112
addnode=23.23.186.131
addnode=50.16.206.102
addnode=50.19.116.123
addnode=98.165.130.67
addnode=54.242.50.205
addnode=50.17.98.53
addnode=54.225.43.37

red one is required

Some of those nodes could be old and no longer functioning, but I think eventually the peers.dat file starts to maintain that info, not sure though???

I'm almost 100% sure that more than half of DRK promoters and investors said "DRK will catch LTC" few weeks ago but they internally believe "It is just a dream, will not happen".

Today, many of them start moving the internal dream feeling to the a real possibility area, DRK has the features, developers, genius, market, users, followers, investors and the platform to catch LTC or be close to it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be too greed, slow but solid grow is the best path for a bright future.

I totally agree about your comment of slow and solid

But as a total Darkcoin cheerleader, I honestly don't think catching up to ltc is a dream at all, and inevitable.  When some of the more useful features of Darkcoin are implemented, such as an auction house and consignment house together with nice features like a light wallet for everyone, all I can say is why bitcoin?

But I'm a total Darkcoin cheerleader, you may be right that half of us "promoters" don't believe in the coin??  I'm hook line and sinker, so you can laugh at me if Darkcoin fails, LOL.  I kinda feel safe there though.

I must admit that I don't like the name "promoter".  I don't want to lead anyone down a false path, and wouldn't knowingly.  We are all here on a very dicey proposition - create a new world currency system.  That's not a small feat.  In fact, it's pretty damn revolutionary and extremely risky.  I have to assume everyone here is aware of the risks.  So when I speak my mind on this coin, it's with the understanding that everyone reading has to be responsible for themselves in what risks they take.  Though I do want to reach people that come here to make sure they understand why we think Darkcoin has what it takes to succeed, to explain the FUD that is constantly dropping in on our thread, so that honest people who want to participate in this grand experiment don't miss out on what I think is the best opportunity, the best coin bar none.

Oh well, enough of that Smiley  It is exciting to watch the coin's value rise.  It's like a veneration of the coin and Evan's hard work.

Without being mean or anything, can anyone explain in plain English what exactly Mastercoin does?  It's worth a lot (~$26 a coin) but I can't get the idea behind it.  I'm wondering how it's worth so much?

I went to the website, but it doesn't make sense to me, I am too ignorant I guess?

Thank you anyone who can explain the concept behind Mastercoin.  I ask here because this is my "home" and really hate going outside this community.  I am afraid I'm agoraphobic, LOL
Looks like pie in the sky junk to me. Kind of like, Ripple or Counterparty, but even less useful. "Buy Mastercoins in order to,er... buy Bitcoins!"

To be fair this is mostly about Maidsafe, but has some Mastercoin related info, none of it encouraging: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/the-brokenness-of-maidsafe/

Not remotely a competitive threat to Darkcoin, anyway.

Very interesting and entertaining, but I'm still confused, LOL.  A little less so now.... maybe, thank you Smiley

I can confirm that you can run the node with your local wallet cold. The way to check is look at the debug.log of the remote server, each masternode is assigned an identifying number  from 0 to n. Search your ip and find your number. After that each time a masternode is selected the debug.log shows winner n. Search for your number and see if your node is being selected, mine are although my wallets are cold. Hope this helps.

I think we need a easy way to check if your Masternode is configured correctly.

We'll have it on the 25th. If you get paid, it's correctly configured, if you don't, it's not. It would be nice to have something before though.

Somebody asked Chaeplin if he could make a masternode graph thingy, and he said yes, so hopefully he'll have something for us soon!

yes please, I moved the 1000DRK to another address cause of the port zero problem. Now I can activate the masternode successful with the other address, but in debug.log it says "masternode rejected", but it still gets a "winner". No idea if its working or not. I did shutdown the masternode for now, do I need a new IP?

Are you on the list twice?  One may be rejected an the other OK?  Or maybe this is a bug Evan is working on?  I don't know?

I have noticed that some people for some reason, have withdrawn the funds from their local wallets, and the debug log shows their masternode being rejected and they don't get a number to be voted on.  Could that have happened?

Hi TanteStefana,

please also see my EDIT note. Its still on the list after shutdown.
And no, it was only once on the list, number 87 i believe. xxx.xxx.177.122 is the ip. Maybe you can look if its on your list. I shutdown the whole server 24 hours ago, after executing darkcoind stop.

Yah, the "masternode" is still running though.  You need to turn on the local wallet again in order to execute the darkcoind masternode stop there and get it to stop running.  I don't think it can actually win an election in that state, it probably gets rejected.  That darn debug log takes forever to download, and I'm about to go to bed now, but I do think if you want to get the node off the list, you need to do masternode stop on the local machine (reloding your wallet)  I think you also have to turn it on with the darkcoind masternodeaddr=X.X.X.X:9999

just to be sure..you can switch off your local machine after launching your remote node with it?

Some say that it's possible, but I don't think so. The local wallet has to say to the network "I'm on". That's why I think that it's better to have 2 servers : one (private) running darkcoind with the 1000DRK and the other (public) with an empty wallet.

Oh no, you really can take your local wallet with the coins off line afterwards.  I checked the debug log on my remote, and my nodes, at the time, were elected masternode 2 times and 6 times in the log (not sure how many days, but at least 2)  I would have been awarded block rewards if they had been implemented.  In fact, I stopped my remote node, deleted darkcoind, then replaced it with this newest one, then restarted it.  It has been running and one was elected again, so I didn't have to bother with the local wallet, which has now been in cold storage. (saved on a jump drive not on my running computer)

On my testnet masternode, I set it up exactly the same way, the local wallet has been awarded 10% of the block rewards, so it works there too Smiley

I understand you need to have 1000 DRK in address 0 to run a masternode, but what if you wanted to run multiple masternodes from one remote machine?

I don't know if that will be made possible.  Right now, I think  you'd only tie up 2000 coins to do 1000 coin job.  If it even accepts a second masternode starting on the same IP.  I haven't tried it yet, have you?  Can you let us know what happens if you do?

Yes, but if you try to spend or send the coins to another address, your masternode will be rejected whenever a vote comes up.  Another nice thing is that if you stop your remote node, you can restart it without fiddling with the local masternode and it will continue to run Smiley

Ugh! This thread is going so fast, I can't keep up!!

just bought quite some DRK, comfort me by telling we will hold til this innovative coin reaches the moon and beyond!  Grin

I will tell you honestly, if I had money, I'd be buying more, if I had bitcoin, I'd still put it all in dark.  I don't know much, but that's how positive i feel about Darkcoin. Unfortunatey, I'm all out, can't do anymore and wil have to sell some of my dark next month to pay bills, so i really hope it continues to do well Smiley

You will release the source of the wallet, OK

- Will you release windows binaries?

- What algo?

- If it's not quark/scrypt/sha265/scrypt-jane ....   will you release a standalone miner (including source code) at the same time you release the wallet?

The miner is already open source and it run x11.

It was a bot, reusing post #18 from january (!) as its own: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg4587423#msg4587423

What is the purpose of having a bot post questions from 5 months ago?  I don't get why people use energy for such things?  It's weird!
