People get exited, more people find out, then eventually nothing new is going on and people get bored and start to drop. The difference with Darkcoin is that it's sort of getting renewed every some time Evan improves it by adding an extra new feature, so we get back to the initial stage every time

ATTENTION NEW BUYERS (1) The total number of darkcoins that ever will be is less than 22 million. (2) 2.2 million darkcoins were mined IN THE FIRST 24HRS!!! (3) YEP, 2.2 MILLION. When this coin launched, there was NO windows wallet available. Only linux. For the first 12 hours there was only 10 people mining this coin. (4) How many coins does your mining rig generate for you now? With 3 or 4 gpu's, or multipooling, you might get 1, maybe 2 coins per day? Well....Evan Duffield, internetape, and their closed circle friends were mining 500 COINS PER SECOND!
500 COINS PER SECOND
Honest Tim, this coin is tainted...permanently. Yes, the technology is cool. Well, not super cool. x11 is just a hashed together use of 11 different functions. The reason your rig runs cooler is because this algo is less efficient. Dark gravity wave is cool, kudos. Darksend....well, what do we think about darksend? It starts with the assumption that if we make it too expensive to hack, then the bad guys will leave us alone...False assumption. All this does is gives the illusion of safety, whilst the NSA or any adversary buys up all the darks and knows the vast majority of transactions.
And relying on the community to set up master nodes correctly? HAHA This is going to be hacked so fucking quickly! It is too subjective, assuming that the individual has adequate protection on their server.
And do you have competition? Well yes, yes you do. Zerocoin - not that flash. But don't underestimate the team behind this... Darkwallet - huge competitor...open sourced, so anyone can keep a range of coins in darkwallets... Monero - huge competitor...using ring signatures, so there is no trust, no vulnerability, proven technology. Darkclones - don't underestimate this! You must open source to get any credibility, and as soon as you do, clones with much more experience in marketing will smash you.
What do you have? Evan Duffield. A smart but impulsive dev, working virtually alone.
Darkcoins are way overpriced. Don't hang onto them for too long...
As soon as Evan admits defeat, what will he and internetape do with those 2 million coins they instamined on day 1 that none of you seem to mind? Dump them. and bam, you all lose.
BUYER BEWARE!

just to be sure..you can switch off your local machine after launching your remote node with it?
Yes, but if you try to spend or send the coins to another address, your masternode will be rejected whenever a vote comes up. Another nice thing is that if you stop your remote node, you can restart it without fiddling with the local masternode and it will continue to run

ATTENTION NEW BUYERS [...] BUYER BEWARE!
It's okay to post your opinion once. But it's getting boring to read the same copied message on nearly every page. If this is not trolling, what then? We all know what happened in the beginning of XCO/DRK. I haven't been mining then and couldn't make profit of the "instamine". But I don't complain. I still believe in this coin. And if I look at the markets I'm not the only one.

I understand you need to have 1000 DRK in address 0 to run a masternode, but what if you wanted to run multiple masternodes from one remote machine?
I don't know if that will be made possible. Right now, I think you'd only tie up 2000 coins to do 1000 coin job. If it even accepts a second masternode starting on the same IP. I haven't tried it yet, have you? Can you let us know what happens if you do?

You are so kind and helpfull even I would tip, though as a pure investor I hardly understand what you techies are talking about.
