141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best approach to get Merits : on: October 09, 2018, 12:12:30 PM
The best approach to get Merits :

Experience the rundown of the these users https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topusersat
furthermore, ask yourself what additional expertise/or what additional that they did or doing ?
On the off chance that you ready to show improvement over them at that point benefits will be simpler for you.

There's solitary two things you have to do keeping in mind the end goal to build your benefits.

1. Gain knowledge - picking up information about the crypto space (since this gathering is about bitcoin, a cryptographic money), isn't generally that hard. Exceptionally in the cutting edge world, we have the web.
You can expand the utilization of that asset and make the most out of it. In addition, it's totally free, what's there to lose?
Update: The more intrigued you are about the subject, the more learning you can pick up.

2. Apply your knowledge - as you expand your insight about the crypto space, helping other people and giving quality substance would be simple as 1 2 3.
You can communicate uninhibitedly or you can be specialized, any will do, as long as your themes are on point and clear, benefits would in the end come.

something that deserves or justifies a reward or commendation; a commendable quality, act, etc...

which implies that to acquire merits; you require a demonstration, a quality/accommodating post, a comment, an investigation ... something that brings an or more for this community,
what's more, you will be remunerated with some measure of legitimacy relying upon how individuals discover it usefull.

Gain knowledge
work hard
help others
Merits would surely come.

Topics on how to earn merits will hardly fetch you one, I personally dislike seeing them, which is why I skip them on the meta section. Just focus on the essence of being here and which is knowledge acquisition and the rest will come to you.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody asked me what is blockchain & Relationship to cryptocurrencies? on: October 09, 2018, 12:09:18 PM
I told him blockchain is like Microsoft windows. It is basically an operating system on which other applications run.
How can you explain it in less than 10 words?

You asked for a 10 words explanation and yet you exceeded it. Someone who's willing to learn wont be asking for such brief explanation. The relationship of blockchain is cryptocurrencies is simple, it's the engine that runs the car. Projects run on the blockchain and they emit tokens to that serve as fuel to run the engine.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to manage your finances when entering the cryptocurrency market on: October 08, 2018, 09:52:37 AM
Never invest more than you're willing to lose is the golden rule and if people should adhere to this rule, almost everyone will be fine. Should you invest in a project, ensure to follow at their communities and social media platforms for updates. Set a target for yourself and don't throw in money indefinitely.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reducing scam on: October 08, 2018, 09:38:45 AM
I have read that regulations and laws are being worked out for icos and crypto in most of the countries especially Australia and Europe is actively working on the regulatory framework, after they implement their regulatory framework for crypto i think many more countries will follow.

This is really needed and I'm hoping it happens soon enough. With this, only genuine ICOs will make it to the market place and losses emanating from such investments will be minimal. So, I'm totally in support of regulations
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is best on going bounty on: October 07, 2018, 09:12:52 PM
The most profitable bounty is the company of signatures and writing articles, because they do not require much effort and give a reward of about$ 100 - $ 800 per month. IMHO

Trust me writing articles that would fetch you full stakes is a lot of work especially if you don't indulge in plagiarism. One article can take you up to four (4) days to put together.

146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: October 07, 2018, 08:54:43 PM
This topic is really blasphemous to say the least. Mentioning Ripple, a highly centralized coin with Bitcoin in the same sentence is out of place. I think this was just meant to create hype around XRP, especially around the times it enjoyed the pump by the whales.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Instructions are Extremely Important on: October 06, 2018, 01:46:04 PM
This is a great piece of advise, not just for the newbies, but for everyone involved in bounties. You're absolutely spot on some projects not running ICOs but you see bounty hunters mentioning it in their posts or activities. An example of such is Dacxi exchange bounty where the bounty manager had to warn bounty hunters to refrain from mentioning 'ICO' in the posts as the project isn't running one. It's important to read instructions generally and also necessary to have project knowledge of a project you're promoting.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Transcends Every other Altcoin on: October 05, 2018, 11:35:29 PM
ETH has a lot going for it, its usage is high and as more and more ICO get launched on their platform, ETH will continue yto be second best after Bitcoin. The current price is definitely not what it should be in real terms. Between $1000 and above is what ETH should be priced
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) Price Declines 8% While the Crypto Market Loses $9 Billion on: October 05, 2018, 09:15:01 PM
This again reiterates the fact that Ripple is a pump and dump and without substance. The whales behind XRP choose when to pumps it and dump on unsuspecting people who FOMO into train.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When are we going to see an era like 2017 again? on: October 05, 2018, 08:57:13 PM
Virtually everyone is expecting another boom in the crypto space. We hope for another bullish market. The question we kept on asking ourselves is "When is bull run going to start?"

- 2018 does not really support the boom for most ICOs, unlike what we had in 2017.
- In 2017 airdrops were very profitable, unlike what we have in 2018, where most airdrops just seem useless.
... and the comparison continues ...

Despite all these, i can confidently say that, notwithstanding the bearish market, 2018 has been a very good year for both Traders and Investors alike.

Quite laughable the line that airdrops were profitable in 2017. Airdrops are what they are, useless, whether in 2017 or in 2018. Just very few turned out to be worth it.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need For An ICOs Tracker on: October 04, 2018, 10:49:44 PM
The crypto space is getting if not already saturated with so many projects and ICOs without any distinctive differences. Some are just mere copies of the another. One surest way to find out is running some parts of the texts on their whitepaper on some of these plagiarism sites. It gets to show exactly which project they copied.

I'm hoping that there'll be in the nearest future some tracker for ICOs and their copies as this will help investors not to waste their time on such 'projects'. Is this possible?
Do you mean you are looking for the ico tracker site that can give you the proof that if that ico was only copying another platform? I thought that it looks impossible to consider the ico tracker been getting paid to manipulating the result. What should you do is joining the ico tracking site that used the community's review to listed its ico.

But what if the facts are laid bare for everyone to see for themselves without necessarily giving their verdict, I'm just hoping it would help curb the menace.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For all the people why are complaining about the dump or low price on: October 03, 2018, 11:11:47 PM
The only people that really complain about the dump are those foolish enough to buy ICO tokens during this time.

bounty hunters don't care, they just dump the hell out of whatever they get at whatever price they can get, almost alwaysselling out below ICO price because they are a bunch of brain dead goons.

You'll not be surprised to find out not only bounty hunters who get a paltry 1% of the tokens cause the dumps, I think those with huge bonuses from presale also contribute to the mess, as they have nothing to lose offloading the bonuses at the exchanges.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Relationship between Altcoins and Bitcoin on: October 03, 2018, 11:50:50 AM
The overall value of an altcoin depends most importantly on the premium place on the coin by the token. This to a large extent is dependent on the use case of the project and it's impact on the crypto space, demand and supply of the coin will determine it's price. If there is low demand for the coin, it therefore implies that there's not much premium placed on the project and as such the coin will be not be healthy in the market. Inversely, should there be high demand for the coin, it means there's huge premium placed on the project. It therefore means that the price will increase substantially overtime.

Furthermore, because the overall market is to a large extent influenced by the price movements of BTC, it therefore affects the prices of altcoins positively and adversely during its price swings. This is because a lot of alts are paired with BTC on exchanges in order to be able to trade them.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin declared a commodity, are ETH and other currencies to follow? on: October 03, 2018, 10:38:38 AM
https://m.nasdaq.com/article/bitcoin-ruled-commodity-palladium-etf-shines-cm1030552

What do you think? is this the early stages of acceptance towards cryptocurrencies?

It is bad news for all. A commodity is not treated as currency in terms of taxes and easiness of trading, thus if this is confirmed we will be exposed to a higher taxation level.

There's also the positive side to it. As it's gotten some level of recognition that we need. Remember that it would be hard for Bitcoin to be regarded as a currency as it would compete with the various national currencies of different countries, and this is what their exact fight with Bitcoin and crypto in general. Now that's it's even valued as a commodity, that's something you know..baby steps. Soon they'll realize it's got more than that.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising at google or promote social media? on: October 02, 2018, 10:28:03 AM
About ico project for now ..i look any ico project that use google advertising..like youtobe advertise or other website when we browsing some site.
What is advertising at google will be successful than social media promote like twitter or facebook for ico project that looking for investor?

i look ubex.com, trade.io and then cashbet coin.it was using google advertising and their ico successful..it can be the reason successful ico project?

The success of a project or an ICO is dependent on a whole lot of factors viz;

1. The Team
2. The use case of the project
3. The marketing team, which is where Google ad or social media comes in. It's difficult to single out putting an ad on Google as being the sigular reason for the success of the projects you mentioned or any other project for that matter. A combination of all the factors and much more are the reason for the success of those projects.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is better: utility or security token? on: October 02, 2018, 10:06:13 AM
As an investor, I'll prefer security tokens as they are a more secure type of investments. Mind you there are three (3) types of securities as shared by (www.thebalance.com, 2018);

1. Equity Securities: Equity securities are shares of a corporation. You can buy stocks of a company through a broker. You can also purchase shares of a mutual fund that selects the stocks for you

2. Debt Securities: Debt securities are loans, called bonds, made to a company or a country. You can buy bonds from a broker. You can also purchase mutual funds of selected bonds.

3. Derivative Securities: Derivative securities are based upon the value of underlying stocks, bonds or other assets. They allow traders to get a higher return than buying the asset itself.

But as we've seen in the recent past, a lot of projects shy away from issuing securities tokens as they as are afraid of cease and desist orders the US SEC.

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEWS for New Altcoin to list in new exchange ( Free now) on: October 01, 2018, 01:42:19 PM
Exchanges have been seen to be a pot of gold by people, and as such everyone wants to float one. Unfortunately, a lot of these new exchanges are developed by people of questionable character. They get deposits from user and suddenly disappear. I personally won't sign upon these mushroom exchanges. I'm okay with the ones I trade with at the moment.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Health Care Related ICO's on: September 30, 2018, 05:10:41 PM
I believe health care related ICO's will fare well in our current market. Curaizon is an ICO that has real world uses. They've already conducted successful clinical trials that prove their system is effective in reducing drug non-adherence. The article I linked gives an overview of the project. This is a project with a utilitarian use that can actually make a difference. Check out the link provided and let me know what you guys think.

https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/curaizon-curatoken-ico-ctkn-token/

Health sector projects will struggle in this space as they would make public health records of people which is against their privacy. It's on record that health related ICOs have not done really well, and this might as well be one of them
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP replaced ETH again today on: September 30, 2018, 03:56:46 PM
Again, this is just another temporary replacement as it happened in the last pump. Hardly is this going to be permanent as ETH to me as more usage than Ripple. Expect a follow up pump from ETH soon.
