I would call this 'BCT' because Bitcoin was abbreviated by satoshi as 'BC' since 2010: That's the right way to do it as riX says. The software can generate a new bitcoin address whenever you need one for each payment. "Please send X bc to [single-use bitcoin address] to complete your order" When the server receives that amount to the bitcoin address, that could trigger it to automatically fulfil the order or e-mail the shop owner.
Adding command line support is a high priority. It's just a matter of getting the time to code it.
Some very old members still keep their signature's bitcoin address as BC (like laszlo, the bitcoin pizza guy, link to profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=143) Also I take the first letter of 'talk', i.e. 'T' So the complete abbreviation is 'BCT'. This creates another question: As I recall it, the forum were on different places before it found its home at bitcointalk.org, one of these places being "bitcoin.org". A) Is this correct? B) If yes, why on the friggin' earth was "talk" added to the URL and not "forum"? We do not "talk" here, we write on a forum. Conspirationist are welcome to comment. |

There is a voting option. You can either add a poll to an existing thread by clicking the "add poll" link on the bottom right hand corner of the thread or create a new thread with a poll by clicking the "post new poll" option rather than the "new topic" option when first creating a thread. I must have been blind, drunk, unconscious, dead or having some other problem, but I really looked for a poll option, and I made polls before, but couldn't find one. |

Just based on my experience: No service is better than localbitcoins.com. For $100,000 it take a few buys to get the BTC, but you will get them and far more easily than anywhere else.

Oh, the price... I checked poloniex, and there are 105,766,034 BURST for sell (about 70 dollars BTC) and 7.1 BTC in buys. Is this normal or a change?

newbies .... Did it not use to be an calculator for these kind of things or is it gone? Anyways, with the current market price and if you actually buy a full-priced HDD (and not steal it as some seem to do  ), I would guess you are looking for ROI in more then one year. Already ROI on new equipment used to be bad when price was double of what it is today, and any upswing in price I have hard to see in the near future, given that maindev is not thinking of some kind of fork. |

Every man his own currency you may think in these modern times...and even more confused when sites like XAPO offers collective Wallets and sites like BitMixer offers a Wallet of mixed currencys.
Can someone please explain how to act with theese to be on the safe side?
But what are you trying to do with your coins? Do you seek online wallet or do you need bitcoin mixer? If you are a newbie then I doubt that you need online wallet with the ability to store various coins. It is only needed when you are trading them and you need your coins stored in one place. If I were you I would download standard software bitcoin wallet and store my coins there. It's the safest way. Which 'standard' wallet would you recommend? I started with Multibit, and I stayed with them. Even if I tried other programs, and have BTC on cloud-mining sites, I/it all goes back to Multibit. |

Perhaps it is not proper to ask question in these threads, but I am really interested in how it is to discuss, or even promote, bitcoin in a country so conservative it was banned to teach evolution theory in school until very recently?
Conservatism is of course not something unique for Israel, I could have taken another country, but I just saw that you have meet-ups and wonder how the work is going in such a culture setting.

People should calm down. Sure, the dev team perhaps got scammed, but looking at that list most on the donation list came from the guy accused... There are very few constructive post in this monstrous thread, but one I saved: 1. Run a traditional crowdfunding campaign. Do not use Burst own platform but one of the established ones. There are many to chose from, and also a bunch of sites of more informative nature (for the latter, see for example http://www.realitycrowdtv.com/blog/news/the-9-stages-to-crowdfunding-success/2. In the presentation, be supportive of the blockchain technology per se, being one of the centuries biggest innovation that will. 3. Point out one big failure of bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies: energy-waste. There are graphs showing how much electricity POW coins consume and will consume in the future. 4. Presenting Burst, focus on its eco-friendlyness. If possible, also show this by a picture. For nuance, possibly give credit to KNC, how (if I remember correctly) gets their power straight from a waterfall. 5. Create a stand-alone website for the campaign, informative but easily readable. 6. More knowledgeable people will bring up POS as an alternative. Use the regular counter-argument but also highlight Matthew Czarnek's criticism (burstcoin.info/blog/). 7. Do not set the goal too high, maybe $50,000 and call it seed money. 8. Set a number of goals you want to reach by means for the seed money, and be honest about that more funding will be required, either by a new crowdfunding campaign when goals are reached or by venture capital, to really challenge bitcoin. 9. Even if you are asking for a relatively small sum, offer a professional (looking) business plan along with the presentation, where not only the coin is presented and the short-term goals are mentioned but also how each goal will be achieved (and cost), and how that relates to the bigger plan of challenge POW coins energy problem. Some of the goals should be technological and rather simple achievable; other can be hiring someone to design a logo (see no. 10). There should be hesitation among the devs that they can reach the goals within the time-frame. 10. To get funders feel they are not only is contributing to a risky business, but also give them something back. Ask them to create an account on crowetic's online wallet (simple) and transfer them a few coins, pointing out that these can be really valuable in the future. 11. Consider a fork of Burst with a new name to mirror this promotion. Something with "eco", "environmental" or "save the planet" are names possible. If forking, possibly adjust the valid criticism raised against the coin. A fork do have the advantage that you are not Burst, a year-long mined coin costing 70 satoshi, but generally keep most of the things unchanged and highlight Burst as the innovation you will build on the future on. If you chose this path, a higher sum probably can be asked for.12. If this does not suit you there is one other alternative, but it is not as straightforward and more related on luck. Take it for what it is, but I think most make sense. EVEN, or perhaps the most, point number 11. Start over, kick out people not being constructive. 2nd generation HDD mining with a new name but with all the good ideas Burst has. |
