I'd imagine many would be happy to participate on trust so long as there is the balance of regular status/strategy/forecast reporting and an occassional 3rd party audit of the fund(s). Perhaps even a fund charter, governance and voter rights.
Would you consider such structures and protocols?

Nice to know that hopefully this will be on BTCT soon, I will definitely consider buying a few hundred shares.
However this is my main concern that might hold me back:
Buying a share is the equivalent of buying 1 MH/s in hashing ability. This amount of hashing power will remain static while difficulty will increase at around 10-20% every other week, so won't the value of the stock share go down significantly over time?
That, and, at current difficulty it seems that it will take ~250 days to break-even. |

And wouldnt it be more logical to pay dividends only to the shares which are sold.. i mean who gets the dividends paid to the millions of unsold shares??  The shares still held by AMC go to reinvestment for more equipment. |

The private keys I have stored on my drive have passwords on them. Although they are my "private" keys do they need to be kept private if they are encrypted via the ssh-keygen and gpg --gen-key functions?

It sounds like I should be concerned at this point that I've seen no final-payout transactions on my Gamma address, DeadTerra? I received the two partial payouts in February and March without a problem...

I saw the presentation, it was better than I expected, and recommend watching it once videos are posted. It's not an ivory tower project at all, they have a working implementation internally based on the reference Bitcoin client, and they are going to be making that prototype available this summer. Assuming the scalability and other issues can eventually be resolved, they want feedback from the community as to whether to try to eventually make the technology be tightly integrated with Bitcoin, or deployed as an altchain, or something else. We have roughly 2800 shares left, I do keep track of the price but I do not want to loginto BF due to security reasons. //DeaDTerrra Cool, so we sold 1/4 of shares in 2 weeks. That is good. Yes best to wait until you are back home safely. Mother of GOD:  Gamma fund is going to be nicely profitable in BTC, and a huge success relative to anything else. I'm quite sure that had I personally managed the BTC I have in Gamma, I would have done a LOT WORSE. Thank you, DT! Agreed, DT didn't give up on us when GLBSE crashed. He deserves the highest throne in Valhalla. |
