around 350 D3's got sold in this batch

How do you figure? Shouldnt we be able to follow the money trail to calculate this?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 25, 2017, 11:34:21 AM
Aaand its gone, that went fast! Tongue

Did anyone manage do buy some? What BTC address did you pay to?

Paid in LTC, BTC is too risky.

I go wire transfert Wink
This is a mistake!

Your payment will be confirmed last, because crypto transfers are almost instantly verified.
And since they ship after "first-order-first-ship basis", aka first-payment-confirmed-first-ship basis, you will be at the back of the que.

I got screwed this way with the S7's, got my miners after batch 2 orders shipped, and I ordered within minutes in batch 1.. Tongue

Wtf! Sold out already? I have one in my cart but can't checkout

shit u bitmain, same here. a few seconds later, error on shopping cart.. nice trick BITMAIN

Trick? The amount of butt-hurt on this forum..

We all knew they would launch batch 2 very soon.
If you have followed this thread you would also have know that they would release batch 2, 18:30 GMT+8.
You had 22 minutes from release until it was sold out.

3 days later shipping and same price for Batch 2 is very good imo! Wish it was priced higher tbh! Tongue

just thought share if you still want to buy one got email from bitmain :

Dear customer,

We are pleased to inform you that we have will release a new batch of the Antminer D3 miner at this link after 6:30 PM (Beijing time) on July 25, 2017.

The Antminer D3 is Bitmain’s first ASIC miner to mine the X11-algorithm based cryptocurrency DASH.

This batch can deliver a hashrate of 15 GH/s. Because of the high demand and the manufacturing period, shipping for this batch will start after 15th of September 2017 and on a “first paid, first ship” basis. If we advance the shipment, we will notify you.

the link from email : https://goo.gl/4BDLhJ

If the shipping date is the same as Batch 1, I expect the price to be higher. That would be fair right? Tongue

Looks like ~ 1.12BTC for the D3, just over $3000 USD

Looks like where?

Does anyone know if the D3 will able to mine other altcoins other than X11-based coins? Quark? Qubit? X13?

It won't. It's an x11 ASIC Smiley

You ain't seen nothing yet. That's after only one small batch has been released. Profit down 35% already.  LTC profit will be down to $300.00 per month by October. I bet those poor bastards that paid $6,000.00 per unit from Amazon sellers are not feeling to good now. 2 years to pay the bastards off now.

Yea I bought one of the last from the Sept 21-30 batch and Im hoping for less than 6mo to make back the 45 LTC it cost me.

I'm pretty sure it will take you at least 9 months to generate 45 LTC, if not longer!
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What happen to mining profitability? on: July 24, 2017, 03:01:32 PM
Its because of difficulty mate! Smiley

Ok, I understand, it is just before the BIOS update, you could turn on (from user shutdown) any moment you wanted. I was using it this way because I read that this is the way to go when you don't have a case or power button (first rig).

Thanks 4 reply.

You could always just start it by connecting the PWR_SW pins on the motherboard together. I'm just using a screwdriver for this, works like a charm!

On the z270 Prime its the two pins to the top right, if I remember correctly. The pins should be marked with text below.

All good Phil? I haven't been active on the forum for a year++.

Would love to hear your take on the mining scene for this year.
Whats the future for GPU mining? I'm currently mining ETH with 4 rigs, would you continue mining ETH even tho the diff is climbing like crazy? Or switch to something else? Sell the rigs?

Would also love to pick ur brain regarding the recent x11 ASICs thats seems to be flooding the market right now!

Cheers <3

If you have 4 rigs filled with  6 cards each you have 24 cards.

If they are all rx 470,480,570,580  they sell at a premium.

I would sell every card and convert to

⅓ in cash ⅓ in btc ⅓ in zec

take off from mining for July and August then reassess what to do in mid sept.

I sold  almost every card.

I have 9 1080ti's  and nothing else.

I purchased  1400 forever  stamps on ebay today  with my ebucks.

I can make money  on them just as certain as making on  the 1080 ti's

With only 9 1080ti's mining  it is a bullet proof setup  even if it is only  4.50 x 9 /2 = 20.25 a day  I still get btc from it and from the  56 th  which is 47 a day  or 47/2 =

23.50 + 20.25 = $43.75

Thanks for reply mate!

I just realized I forgot a crucial detail! Where I'm from we got this awesome (and kinda insane) law that say that all electronics above a certain price point has a guarantee of 5 years. This basically means that whenever a card breaks, I just return it to the shop and get a full refund.

So I guess that kinda takes selling off the table as I'm kinda guaranteed ROI! I've actually never thought of it this way.. I should buy more rigs..

I have 18x RX580 and 2x R9390, dual mining ETH and DCR, ETH at ethermine and DCR at nicehash. I only got 2 390's left, waiting for them to die so I can return them as well. What coin would you mine with the GPU rigs?

Was considering buying Vega series cards next to fill up the empty slots, but this is probably a terrible idea, as seen from the hashrate benchmarks so far. The 1080 Ti's is probably a better buy?

For ASICs I'm running 1xS9, 1xL3+, 1x Baikal mini, 1x Baikal Quad and I got a D3 coming up in late september.
Currently pointing them at nicehash, but I'm wondering if I should rather mine BTC and Dash directly? Or do you think nicehash's auto profit switching is better?

What do you think about projects like golem and iExec? I was hoping that the GPU's might be usable for rent there later on, if I've understood it correctly.

Long shot:
Do you have any idea about what kind of noise level the Corsair HX1200 makes compared to the AX1200i? The HX is 120$ cheaper.

I've got two rigs with Sapphire RX580 "Limited Edition" cards, and one of them has a AX1200i, it makes so little noise that the CPU fan is the loudest part.
The other one got a XFX 1200W, and its really loud, so I want to change that PSU. These rigs are in the living room so I need to make the last one "wife-friendly".

Thanks for your time again Smiley

Just do some math with the hash-rates for your cards where you have the highest outcome of BTC per day (just keep in mind the transaction fee's and trade fees will come on top) and then you might get better results to mine some other coin and trade for ETH (usually through BTC).

Yeah I used to compare it with Nicehash rates, but after they got their new design it seems they have removed that part of the site.. Sad

Thanks a lot!! <3

I bought it yesterday for 6700 USD. The worst ASIC company. I'll never buy their product. Fck u.
Ouch!

I overpaid about 700$ on my last order as well because of differences in BTC price, but 2700$ is... you could have gotten an Antminer D3 for that price lol!

I honestly think if they hold on the sales will pick up because time will erase some of the concerns.  I am considering picking one of these up if they are still for sale here in a few months.  But for now I have too many irons in the fire already.  LOL

Yeah...I"ve got TWO coming....breaking my 'iron clad' rule of being 'dumb' from butterfly lab days ...

you can call the old ASIC miner Legendary on here...but you can't take the 'optimistic kool aid drinking newbie away'

er....backslid... I mean July 2018 ..I got to be out of my frigging mind Sad

hope this works out

On the other hand, I scratch my head and think about getting more as well

Going for the EPIC win or EPIC fail on such a bet.....

the music below on what I feel like when I try to decide on an ASIC machine purchases

hell, the lyrics even work...'given me a number (pre-order #) and taken away my name....ARGGGGHHH... ASIC makers the next "Smersh"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdC9P58hJT8

Just gonna have to get used to taking 'risks' or the IRS is gonna get way too much $$ this year

silly hobby

You should try this one instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1qQ1SKNlgY
I'm always dancing through the ASIC orders with this song on repeat! haha Cheesy

Try deleting the number 3 in order quantity and put 1. looks like it might work?

I did the same.

God damn you are not very bright if you think this is going to work.. Tongue
They clearly state minimum order is 3.

it worked Smiley anyway check their website. now MOQ is 1  + free PSU.

Loool, that turned around quickly! Guess I should eat my hat or something Cheesy

Hopefully they mean DASH and not DSH (DASHcoin), kinda confusing, they got the picture of the DASH logo tho so.. Tongue
