anyone else unable to log in?

The log-in function is not working, however you can place orders as a guest on our website still. We are upgrading, redesigning, and creating a much faster and customer friendly website.

You had $100 face bags of silver but it seems it went away. I was going to get 8 of these. Will you get them back in stock soon?

Thanks.

Here they are!

I wish that you had a 1 kilo offering or 50 oz.  Really just something between 10 and 100 oz.

Why are these types of bars not offered more often?  Seems like you really have to dig around to find someone offering these weights.

We have a 50 oz RM silver bar available for purchase. If you're interested, feel free to call and place the order.

I just got my second order from Amagi. While first one came without any problem, there is an issue with second one.
Fedex just hit me with invoice for over 200 euro VAT charges. When I phoned them asking why they want to charge VAT on investment gold when this is exempt from VAT their reply was that there was not used appropriate harmonized code. That seems strange as there was the same code used as on first order from few months back where everything was without problem.

Anyone from EU (Ireland/UK) with the same experience? How did you proceed in case like this? I am not going to pay that invoice as it seems somebody did mistake - either custom officer at entry airport or fedex person working in their extortion department.

Which harmonized tariff code was on the customs forms? (I can verify if you e-mail us at Support@amagimetals.com with your order/name information)

The harmonized tariff codes used for silver and gold bullion on the customs forms we fill out are as follows:

Silver
7106.91.10

Gold
7108.12.13

If there are any forms they are requiring of us to assist with the shipment, please let us know.

Another order at my door today! Cheesy  Thanks again Amagi.

Special Thanks to Jillian as well!

You are very welcome!

I was going to buy a 1 oz gold coin until I saw the shipping cost.  Shocked
Why would it cost $116.38 to ship a 1 oz coin to Canada via FedEx (the only choice given)?

We're working on a new website and working on new shipping options for our international customers. This should be up and running towards the end of the month. Thank you for your patience.
Just an update!

Received my 1 Gram Gold Perth Bar today!

Thanks Amagi!

Glad everything arrived well. Smiley

I ordered from them on January 11, 2014

I got the shipping info on January 13, 2014

It is currently being sorted by USPS.

No real issue other than the site being down on the 12th kind of scared me.

Happy to hear everything is moving quickly with your shipment! We had an internet outage in our offices that morning too. Not the best Monday.

Ok sounds good, I think palladium is going to be a metal to watch in the next few years. I'd tell you to rush out and stock it but I assume demand from individuals(people outside the auto industry) isn't huge at the moment.

We've actually had quite a few requests for this. It's on the to do list for the year, definitely.
146  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Why my 2nd order was my last one with Amagi metals. on: January 14, 2014, 08:36:12 PM
Too much ACID for you buddy.. If you don't like the policy, don't order.. simple as that.. you have the choice.

The government is not your friend.

Not just the US Government. Look around you. No matter what government is yours, they have all become corrupt entities.  "There is a war going on outside that no man is safe from."

Now, if you want to sleep at night, knowing that you were just following orders, do so. "My superior told me to put the people on trains for showers, and that's just what I did."

Oh, you think Goodwin's law is an exaggeration?! Well, herein lies our argument! The likelihood that Uncle Sam was going to find out that I had confessed to giving a fake number was remote. Though there was no danger, you chose "to play it safe." Whom do you serve?

Hey, you know what? I smoked weed and don't live in Colorado. Now, who's going to know that I told you this? Uh-oh, it's online!! You better do something!! You're legally liable now! You better go run and tell someone! When the State finds out that you had prior knowledge and did nothing!!! You could be fined or spend a few hours in jail!!!! OHHHH NOOOOO!!!

My experience with Amagi metals was cowardice. Utter cowardice. And ignorance. I believe they think that the US Government is their friend. Here to protect them. From people who don't want to give their real phone numbers out and buy gold with bitcoin to fund such projects as "Chicken Lunch" and "Groupon Frozen Yogurt". Like me.

OH MAN I'VE SAID TOO MUCH. THE ENTIRE OP IS IN DANGER.

Correct. You do have the choice to order with us or not. Thank you for pointing that out, Eb0la. Also, I want to point out again that our insurance company requires this information. With an incorrect phone number any claim that we would submit could be denied in case of a lost shipment.

If you smoking weed in another state had anything to do with our business, I could see how your analogy would apply. Thank you for the dialogue. I wish you great experiences with whomever you choose to purchase from in the future.

147  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: January 14, 2014, 06:11:23 PM
Got my 2 swans  Grin...

Looking good!

Just completed another successful purchase  Smiley

Took a few days before the order was shipped, but I did get tracking as soon as it was sent out. I wasn't worried because I have bought from these guys before and the service was top quality. Parcel arrived in pretty good time and everything which I had ordered was there.

I have just placed another order - I think something might have gone wrong during checkout though - sent BTC to the specified address but instead of getting a confirmation message, the site took me back to the start of the checkout process Huh

Anyway, I'm sure it will be fine, I feel I'm in safe hands with Amagi Metals.

If you haven't already, please e-mail us at support@amagimetals.com. We can verify the order was established.
I bought a mix of Sic Semper Tyrannis rounds and American Silver Eagles to give out as Christmas presents.  They went over really well, packed in an airtite (had to order those elsewhere to get larger ones to fit the ASEs...these guys have sizes to fit nearly anything) in a small box with a little write-up on the coin/round mostly cribbed from the Amagi website. Maybe I should've taken pictures before giving them away. :-)

More recently, I picked up some junk silver to have smaller denominations on hand.  What arrived was mostly half-dollars, with a few quarters and dimes.  There were four different half-dollar designs in there, going as far back as 1900, and maybe two designs each for the quarters and dimes.  Neat stuff from a collectible standpoint, even if some of them are heavily worn.

We do get a lot of interesting 90% silver coins in! Glad everything arrived nicely. We do carry the 1 oz American Eagle Air-tites, however they are not listed on our website currently. If you're interested in adding these to your order feel free to check-out with the 1 oz air-tites on our website and follow-up with an e-mail or a phone call and we can swap them out for the correct size.

I put in a small order with amagi recently.  I ordered 4 different types of silver and a fractional gold bar.  These are my results.

Ordered - 1/5
Claimed it shipped - 1/10
Actually shipped - 1/14 (tracking shows early in the morning, so it was likely shipped late 1/13)

Items are still in transit, though it is up to USPS at this point.  I'm sure the order is correct and will update if for some reason it isn't.  People seemed to be concerned with how long it takes so that's why I posted this info.

I ordered 5 different types of items and two different types of metals, which I would assume has a higher probability of being delayed.  Items were shipped in 6-7 business days, 9 days total.  This doesn't seem too outrageous at all to me.  My friend had a cash order with provident, and while I can't remember the exact dates, it seemed to be about as long.

I was a bit over zealous with how much shipping I thought we could get done Friday and printed off a few too many for our shipping team. Glad they got this out on Monday for you!

That's nice and all, but how did you pay for your order?

I assumed it would have been obvious that I used bitcoins.

Speaking of which it was very smooth, I had never used bitpay before.

Happy to hear your transaction went smoothly!
148  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: January 13, 2014, 04:01:30 PM

You are very welcome! Thank you for the request.

Have had a couple good experiences with them now. Took about a week total to receive the products. Smooth transactions. Didn't acid test yet, but based on what I've heard I'm sure they're probably fine.
Hey amagi, any plans to carry palladium?

Palladium is definitely a possibility to add to the inventory on our website this year. We'll update you here when this happens.

Or just the 20 round sealed mint tubes of gold instead of loose coins.

I've seen the 1 oz American Gold Eagles come in mint tubes of 20. Is this what you are looking for?
Placed another order for a couple oz. of gold. 4 Days and have'nt got a shipment confirmation yet. Huh

We typically ship in 3-5 business days after the payment clearing date. Please e-mail me at support@amagimetals.com for specific information regarding your order. I'd be happy to verify when your order will be shipping or if it has already shipped.

Just wanted to lend more to amagi's credibility. I have placed multiple orders in the past in various forms of payment and they always come through quickly and without friction anywhere in the ordering process. My preferred method of exchanging paypal and crypto into something i can hold in my hand.

Happy to hear about your experience. Thank you for your repeat business!
152  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: January 07, 2014, 10:52:32 PM
Today I received the 10 missing Maples. They were in the FedEx package shipped in December.

Amagi metals, failed to send my full order, and twice had troubling communication errors. However I know that shit can happen and I feel that everyone involved did not mean to make a mistake and did try to correct the mistakes as best as they were able. I do not think any of the errors were in malice and they did respond relatively quickly.

A family member who has been waiting to order once this was resolved will place a new order soon and I expect everything to go well.

This service was not perfect however compared to con-a-bull they are 5 stars. I'm glad to see an honest company operating in BTC land.

Best of luck in the future.

Happy the missing items are in your possession and thank you for your well wishes. This is going to be an exciting year for us.

Is it just that we can't display prices in BTC, or are you also temporarily not accepting BTC?  Thanks!

Just the display part.  Put in an order the other day and did the BitPay dance during checkout.

Yes, exactly. You can select Bitcoin as your payment option upon checkout and verify the exchange rate here:

Glad to hear you will do local pick up. If we drop by will you have a fair amount in stock or do you order everything as soon as we order? I understand something wont be in stock.  Thx.

Great question. We ask that the order is placed over the phone. You can typically pay when you pick up the order unless you are looking to lock in whatever BTC/USD ratio there is currently. We usually request for our pick-up customers to allow a weeks time between order and pick-up, however we often have customers in same day. The date you could come in would be clear within the phone order process.

Absolutely. We love to have customers in our office.

This is fantastic news.

An update to my earlier post: I did get my packages and everything as it should be. The coins are beautiful. My only gripe is not with the wait time, but being told I was buying something "in stock" and then being told it would ship multiple times before it actually shipped. My main reason for complaining about that is I don't want anything expensive sitting in the neighborhood mailbox as it has been broken into a few times and smaller packages (coins and the related) would be sitting in there and not at my house. Of course, when it finally shipped and arrived happened to be the weekend I was out of town for a wedding but luckily the mailman knew to hold it at the local branch and not leave it in the box.

Overall, the customer support that I had a few e-mails with (Jillian) was fantastic and whoever owns Amagi should be thanking her for replying fast and keeping a handle on things. I'm not sure if I would use them again for mailing coins until I hear they're a little better with the timelines (even if it will take a month, I don't care, I just need to have a somewhat accurate window of delivery). If you guys can take customers locally I would very happily shop there again--especially using BTC.

Happy to hear everything arrived and you are enjoying the coins. We're very excited about moving into our new facilities in the very near future and what this will mean for logistics.

You are too kind! I remind him daily. Wink
155  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Why my 2nd order was my last one with Amagi metals. on: January 06, 2014, 06:45:53 PM
I placed a silver round order to test the water over a month ago, and received it. And when it came time to place another order, I had a very rude awakening!

The form turned green indicating the the order had been fulfilled but the page suddenly redirected somewhere where I could no longer seem to get back to it to get an order number.

No matter, I'm sure that the order was at least placed. But then I got an email asking me if I was having trouble placing my order.

I wrote back and said NOO!! The order was PLACED! So they wrote back and said, "Please send us order details." Which I did, but I gave my phone number as 954 555 1212.

She wrote back saying that they could not fulfill the order without a phone number.

These people clearly do not understand libertarian aspects of bitcoin. Otherwise, she would have just put in the phone number that I supplied her with: 954 555 1212 -- which is the phone number I used for the last order, and for all orders placed at Agora Commodities.

So in a country where the NSA listened to 200 million calls in a month, she is asking me for my real phone number!

People in America seem to have no real understanding of the impact of Snowden, but I do not expect it from people in the bitcoin community itself.

TL;DR: I am unhappy with Amagi Metals and will be placing no orders in the future.

We asked for a working number and checked if it was working because you pointed out that it was not in an e-mail to us. When this is brought to our attention we must follow through with obtaining the correct information so we can comply with shipping company policies, insurance requirements, and law as we would like to remain in business and continue serving our customers.

I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience as we strive to make every customer happy within our means.

This might have to do more with FedEx than anything else.

I really don't care. She could have put in 555 1212, which I gave her in my reply!!! -- which would be the only number that Amagi metals would have for me if their form had worked. Instead, she chose to be complicit in the government's policies, which we can all see encroach on the tyrannical.

Everyone's got an excuse. Oh, it's Fedex. Oh, it's the FBI. Oh, it's the big banks. And yet people like Amagi metals have the choice to be complicit in this or not.

Welcome to the United States. Everyone's a Nazi. No one wears an armband.

We choose to remain in business and help others preserve their wealth.

Serious question. Amagi, would you let us pick up an order locally?

Absolutely. We love to have customers in our office.
156  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: January 06, 2014, 05:01:36 PM
I have placed a few orders with Amagi.  Customer service is great and responded promptly to any and all questions I have asked.  I give them a 10/10 for that!  Shipping times are slow which is okay with me as long as I get my order.  Its not like I am going to do anything other than store the Gold / Silver in my safe. As long as it makes it to me I am happy.  I understand there are delays because I am sure they don't stock all the gold / silver on hand and have to go to their dealer to acquire it.

They are currently looking into a custom order of gold for me which I am hopeful they will come through and I will further update on that matter later.

So for now I will continue to order from them.  I have 2 outstanding orders just recently placed and expect them to get to me in a few weeks (One order has pre-order items on it)

We're still looking into the special order for you. No responses on Friday for our requests. Hopefully we'll hear something today. Smiley

We removed Bitcoin from our currency selector temporarily. We're working on a fix for the errors it was causing with orders coming in with Bitcoin.

Let us know when this is fixed!

From the time of order til received was only 4 Days on a decent size order. Looking to do more business very, very soon!

Excellent. Happy to hear you are pleased with your experience.

At this time I suspect I have been lied to again. There is no way it could have taken this long to get to me and no way it would have taking this long for the post office to update their computer.

I'm pretty sure I will never use this service again and that is very sad as I planed to do some massive volume Sad

Pleasure speaking with you on the phone earlier. Glad we were able to clear a bit up about the tracking information.

What's really concerning is the email I got yesterday that said
"Your order shipped here is the tracking number"

20+ hours later the USPS has no sign of the package entering their system,

I leave support a message and they say:

"Your tracking number will update early next week and show receipt from the post office. We have been short staffed the past few days because of the holiday"

So if you are short staffed, how do you have staff to send me an email with a tracking number, but not actually send the item.

We often print off postage for a whole week at one time as this allows us to focus on the shipments. The postage will be for different dates and when the postage hits the day that we are shipping an automated e-mail goes out letting the customer know about the tracking number that was issued and their package being prepared. There was no way to know that the staff on hand would not be able to prepare all the shipments as expected. I hope that helps clarify why you received the e-mail.

... automation?

Any company handling shipping on their scale is going to have automated systems that handle printing out the packing slips/post office postage/etc.

I have no idea what they are actually doing, but if I were managing a company that shipped a lot of stuff, I'd have a batch process that handled printing out packing slips/postage/etc when all the required quantity was on hand and at the front of the queue (and you get the email when the postage is printed, not when it's actually dropped off), and then have people packing the orders.

Seriously, "automated systems" handle a lot of the stuff that people seem to be imagining is done manually.

Yes!

I realize that this is something I probably should have asked several orders ago (it honestly slipped my mind and it's never been an issue), and I apologize if this has been asked before, but is Amagi at most two steps removed from the mints? I gather that the company has a supplier but are they buying direct from the US Mint and Royal Canadian Mint, for things like Silver Eagles and Silver Maple Leaves respectively, are are there other suppliers up the chain before getting to the mint?

Great question. We are a dealer who buys directly from some private mints however to order from government run mints you need to have a crazy minimum order. We obtain these through our dealers.
20+ hours later the USPS has no sign of the package entering their system,
USPS is usually slow with their tracking info.  I had a package (not from Amagi) that was at my door before the tracking showed it was enroute, and they never did email me with an update.  I'd expect UPS and Fedex to be more accurate, but sometimes UPS passes packages off to USPS, or maybe vice versa.

This is not a USPS problem,

I confirmed this morning that my package is still sitting with Amagi, all they did was print a label.
So it is supposed to ship today. (8 days after I ordered it) and I understand the holidays and who had the flu but I ordered it expecting it to be here by now, now when they attempt to deliver it needing a signature, no one will be there.

I may be able to pull this from shipping still if you have an alternate address you'd like your order sent to. Please e-mail us with any changes needed. Thank you!

I'm not sure what else you want.

I don't want anything else. Now that they have said they will resolve it, and it is NOT conditional on their tapes (like before) I am happy.

I will let everyone know once I get a tracking number and also when the gold in hand.

Thanks.

What has me confused is why these guys do not seem to be bothered about $15,000 missing. I suspect the owner really knows where the gold is. If it were my company I would be trying to track that down ASAP and see if it got lost or maybe even stolen by a worker. It just blows my mind that they don't seem to be bothered by this at all. But anyway as long as they do make it right with me they can run their business anyway they want I guess.

As for the level of concern we have, the CEO often reminds me that freaking out, being bothered, or being upset isn't doing much for a situation. It's not helpful with researching or figuring out where or how the problem was encountered and how to resolve the issue. I find this to be correct in my experience.

Hey Amagi - care to help us track down creativex (aka Timonex aka Eric Corlew), who has ordered multiple items from you over the last year or so? Thx

As I have replied before, we are unable to provide any information.

I was unaware that we were able to squeeze in a large order before the holiday and received that inventory in from our dealer today. I'll have your shipment of the missing gold maple leaf coins prepared today.

Thank you for your patience with us.
