143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: May 03, 2017, 05:19:24 PM
Thank you for the price prediction and i hope that the price of bitcoins would reach 2000$ by the end of august, even if it does not then we can expect that the price of bitcoins will only reach upto 2000$ by the end of december.

Bitcoin's price is now skyrocketing. Therefore, it is very likely that bitcoin will reach 2000 dollars soon. If, of course, after such rapid growth there will be no precipitous decline

If there is no attack on the each size of the block increase, I think the price will rise gradually.
144  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: January 03, 2017, 06:16:42 PM
The price is 1020$ every where today. I would not be surprised if it will fall again tomorrow. Cause with such price there is high tendentious that people will cash out their money and that will make the price to fall.

Glad the price is still over $1000.
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: December 20, 2016, 11:28:20 AM
We're getting close. To the moon... again!  Grin

I hope not. It is better for the price to rise 5-10% a month.

Sending or receiving Bitcoin does feel good especially when I hear that beep sound of money arriving 🤑🤑

So it is better to hear the sound indicating the arrival of the bitcoin. It is better to hold the cons.
147  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: September 27, 2016, 05:47:35 PM
Depending on the amount I can feel a little anxious till I see a confirmation on the other side. I know I am capable of sending to the wrong address and therefore double and triple check to still screw up from time to time. Usually just small amounts but hope I never achieve this with a larger amount.
If I do,I will pretend I bet on a losing sports team and try to stash the memory where I forget about it.

I have the similar feeling. There is no charge back for the bitcoin, so we have to be very careful in the spending.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: September 19, 2016, 06:48:29 PM
Im mining BURST with my HDDs (one internal 3TB + two external 4TB HDDs) + with my GPU some DMD

Is that very profitable?
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: September 05, 2016, 12:21:08 PM
I think we are entering another super-cycle but there is still going to be a ceiling on stable price, which can be temporarily overshot, due to the cost of mining taking up too much of the world's energy consumption.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=694401.msg7841448#msg7841448

Would be helpful to run these numbers again.

I believe a super-cycle is way overdue, but because of many problems right now it is being held back

for example the bitfinex problem and the blocksize debate that has been gone on for way too long and is still not even anywhere close to solved.

If that were true, then some altcoin with better scalability would've rocketed past bitcoin. Yet here we are, with the total cryptocurrency market cap below bitcoin's all-time high.

The simplest explanation is that the demand just isn't there.

The Monero has good scalability. It does not have a block size limit. The block size is adaptive to the current demand.

actually sending money doesnt really make me feel good, because i am spending some of my investment to buy something, but in the other hand i feel excited because i can spend the coin i earn to purchase something i like, but bitcoin need cashflow transaction everyday to be alive, so i when i send the money i will consider myself helping bitcoin to expand and stay alive
Even me i do not feel good if i sending money to others, but if i am sending with an exchanged of my collection i feel happy because i purchase some items to add in my collection,

I spend some bitcoin every few months. I feel good as when I spend the bitcoin, I am actually helping the circulation.
151  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: August 06, 2016, 09:08:59 AM
To be honest I hate sending bicoins as it is reducing my balance from my wallet, but its always good to receive some bitcoins in the form of payouts from signature campaigns.

I have the similar feeling. But I spend about 20% of my bitcoin every year to help the circulation of the bitcoin.
152  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: July 23, 2016, 06:17:39 PM
I have spend double figure bitcoin in the last few years to buy the mining equipment. That is a good experience.
153  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: July 08, 2016, 11:22:00 AM
When I spend the bitcoin, I feel good as I am help the bitcoin economy. I spend around 10 bitcoins per year.

I still mine the Ethereum at the moment, even though it is not very profitable. Most other coins are not profitable at all.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: June 12, 2016, 10:06:24 AM
I still mine the Etheruem. There is a good market to absorb the mined Etheruem, so I can make some profit.

There are many investments in the Ethereum mining. The difficuty or the hash rate is all time high at the moment.

I have also bought some graphics  cards from AMD to mine. I might have to sell them when there is no profit.

The difficulty is rising fast. The high power consumption card such as 6970 will be out of Ethereum mining soon.

In a few months, even the 280x will be useless as it has higher power consumption compared to the new cards.

The hashing rate of the 280x drops steadily. 6 months ago, it could has 26 MH/s, now, it can only do 20.

I use the bitcoin to buy things. When I spend it, I feel good as I have helped the circulation of the currency.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: May 21, 2016, 08:37:59 AM
Any recommendations for 4x7950 rig?

Last time I mined was in April 2013. Should I still stick with Scrypt coins?

You can mine Etheruem with the 7950. It is not very efficient as it has only 3GB video memory. But it still works.

Efficiency doesn't change whether its 2GB/3GB/4GB/8GB.

i think he mean hashrate, with 2gb you have very low hash now on those old cards, not worth it, and if the hash is lower the consumtion remain high so it's bad

For my 7970, the hash rate drops every DAG file change. For my R9 390 and Nano, the hash rate is the same.

So for Ethereum mining, it is better to sell the 280x or early cards and buy the 390 or later graphics cards.

Depends I'd guess on WHEN they are going to go to a POS coin. Any info on when that may be (hints by ethereum devs/etc)

me...if I was them I'd let this pow hype for for 12 months more plus ...seems to work for them

(have zip in ethereum ..ie missed boat) Sad Just commenting from the 'Bleachers') Smiley

PoW can maintain the price more than the PoS. So they should let the PoW continue after most of the GPU cards do not work.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: May 08, 2016, 08:29:57 AM
So far, the Etheruem is the most profitable usually. some times, an altcoin will be pumped, it is more profitable.
159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: April 24, 2016, 08:09:31 PM
Had a few minutes, so I looked up the numbers for phase 2 of each of the previous cycles; they are:

Cycle 1 Phase 2 : start: $0.78, max: $29.58 (37.9x), end: $5.74 (7.4x)
Cycle 2 Phase 2 : start: $125.47, max: $1,132.29    (9.0x), end: $621.93   (5.0x)
Cycle 3 Phase 2 : start: $410.17

Interesting that again, the amount of increase is less in cycle 2 than in cycle 1.  May be indicative of a smaller increase this time, too, although things don't seem top be indicating this, as far as I can tell.  I think we will get an increase, but not necessarily less than cycle 2.

Note that given the recent price uptick and away from that long period of stability, we may be transitioning into section E of the graphs.  Each previous time there was a gradual start to increase, before price really took off.

Despite the phase of each cycle.

Do you feel like we will hit $1k in phase 4? Since the halving or no? Im including all exchanges including chinas, after the halving is done.

It does not if it has phase or not. As long as there are mass adoption of the bitcoin, the price will rise eventually.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: April 03, 2016, 05:14:00 PM

I don't really see why people hype so much about centralization of mining by a certain group, as long as there is no 51% attack.  You really think that anyone who purchased the equipment for a big mining farm has anything in mind except for maximizing their profit?  If Chinese bitcoins double in price, so do yours!  They are all the same thing.  And if they are just a big pool, well - even less to worry about.

If a pool has 51% of the whole network and it is taken down, the the attacker needs just 25% of the hash rate to attack the network.
