141  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps on Trump Victory on: November 10, 2016, 05:47:56 PM
It should level off soon with so many unknown aspects for bitcoin relating to the government.
Just can not see a increase well we sit here with no concept of how bitcoin will be addressed if at all.
I know he made mention of bitcoin but way to many issues with more consequences that need to be looked at first.
Would say online poker is in the same boat for now, just rocking in the waters and buying time.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization of Marijuana in US can BTC help sell weeds? on: November 10, 2016, 05:43:13 PM
Making something legal means it is now under more scrutiny and therefore not going to be connected to bitcoin until bitcoin is recognized as a currency by the American government. The interesting aspect now is how the banks play ball with companies they have been causing to jump through endless hoops.
143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump being new POTUS - how it will affect Bitcoin in the long run? on: November 09, 2016, 11:16:56 PM
There seems to be a lot of unknown variables in play, one being if Trump is going to come through on any campaign issues at all or if he finds it a little harder of a slog once he is in the House. Long term if he holds true to his word should be interesting as the world may push back against him, since the USD is such a global currency tied to all sorts of markets.
The issue is all over the world Countries are starting to turn inward now and that will also make bitcoin more unstable.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Trump presidency may turn out beneficial for Bitcoin long term on: November 09, 2016, 10:57:34 PM
China is facing restrictions all over the world against their citizens in how they are stashing money outside the country.
Really not that sure how easy it is for people to get at bitcoin that are more rural but I plead ignorance as to how much they can afford to put in as well. So I am not to sure but China and Russia are always a hard egg to crack for me when it comes to anything.
145  Economy / Economics / Re: Mexican currency is dropping fast will they use BTC? on: November 09, 2016, 10:51:15 PM
The merchants are collecting USD as much as they can with the state of the Peso and I think that will be the ole standby, rather than bitcoin.
Just does not scream mass adoption when they are functioning well with the American dollar as back up.
I know these style threads are popular but they are basically ill informed speculation at best and doing nothing to spread bitcoin.
Would be better to teach the benefits of bitcoin to those that can gain access easily day to day, then looking at these Countries that have weaker economies for stimulation.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: So USA seems to have picked Donald Trump. Help or hurt btc prices. on: November 09, 2016, 10:28:47 PM
The markets crash every election as a sign of disenfranchisement  with who ever gets in. Those that support Trump see good gains for cheap and those against him see the sky falling and impending doom.
Markets are already rebounding so I think it was clear shock at what happened.
So bitcoin will not really see a wave without some kind of statement from Trump indicating positive pathes.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will mobile devices serve as BTC full nodes in the future? on: November 09, 2016, 10:17:35 PM
We would need to address all the backdoors in the current cell phones but I also like the idea of setting up a peer to peer internet that stands alone outside the main network. If we can set this up in the future we would have jumped a large hurdle in the death nail of regulation through government.
Current set up says no but we could reach a day sooner than we think for a cell that could safely handle the load.
148  Economy / Economics / Re: What if US Dollar Crashes? on: November 09, 2016, 06:38:30 PM
Now that Trump is at the wheel the markets will drop like they have and then slowly rebound if he does not go haywire and try to throw Rosie in jail. We are in uncharted terrain and the markets will ebb and flow till a established pattern develops.
It will take some time to transition over to the new POTUS and shake the jitters out. USD could actually start to climb but I also read the world may make him pay through economic trades going south. Who knows!

Some how I just do not see it crashing but maybe a steady decline over decades, nothing rapid like in the near future.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India Bans Its Largest Fiat Currency Notes on: November 08, 2016, 06:19:09 PM
Sometimes make me think that with bitcoin we are playing right into the hands of the movement to restrict our funds.
Crypto is perfect for governments if they control it and can take it away in one click or divvy up the funds between the elite.
Its funny how those attracted to bitcoin initially wanted less government and now it is starting to look like government is going at it the same for total polar opposite reasons.
There is also a trend of eliminating the lower coins and bills in some Countries to eliminate costs and weighing people down with change.
This always looked to me as a reason to over charge the customer due to not having the smaller change and rounding up.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be a law on stolen bitcoins? on: November 08, 2016, 05:59:39 PM
You either have freedom or you have nothing and that is pretty much how bitcoin works. You start making rules to track or attack people with nefarious ideas/plans and you kill bitcoin in the process. May not be right away but a gradual decline would for sure happen as the markets reflect the change.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.4 Billion Invested in Bitcoin & Blockchain Investments on: November 08, 2016, 05:52:40 PM
A billion really is not that large when you factor in this is a currency being used around the world,so it taps into any one that could function on the internet. As a example I read MLB pitchers cost a billion a year and baseball is a American sport for the most part.

Also wonder how much of the investment is big companies tinkering with the idea of blockchain.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India Bans Its Largest Fiat Currency Notes on: November 08, 2016, 05:48:45 PM
There seems to be a lot of interesting things happening all at once in India and the cracking down on the black market seems to be a important drive for them. Was not long back we where reading about getting people to use banks and limit the gold exposure.

I do not know enough to think it will attract more Indians to bitcoin or not but I think it will create another off shoot business. India is great at creating jobs and its almost something they pride themselves on,as opposed to the West where its all about the bottom line.

Something I saw about India recently that got me thinking about bitcoin, was the black outs that roll through out the day(4-6 per day) and I thought this would be quite disruptive to bitcoin use.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing Bitcoin Black Friday 5. on: November 08, 2016, 05:37:50 PM
Sounds like a good thing, hopefully like others state we can keep the scammers at bay to the most part.
It detracts from what you are looking to achieve.
Black Friday does sound creepy though, never really understood the holiday as a Canadian, like the meaning behind it.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: Count down to the U.S. election; A.K.A: S&P 500 armageddon on: November 08, 2016, 05:32:54 PM
The part that I think plays into Hilary winning is that there seems to be a segment that are using Trump to make a political statement.
Like say the Bernie folks that wanted a shakeup and will plug there nose and vote Hilary in the end. This group is just one example of folks that are going to sway the percentages in the end towards Hilary.
We all know the system needs a shakeup and some where just using the polls to express that fact,it happens a lot in elections.

So if I was to bet I would go Hilary to win.

I really am interested to see the fallout though because it looks like a good divide that can be manipulated into doing something dumb.
155  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♠ BETCOIN.AG ♠ OFFICIAL THREAD- The Poker Sports Casino Dice Affiliate Community on: November 07, 2016, 10:02:40 PM
Not able to find if the bonuses are automatic or if I need to do something before depositing.
Can some one clarify this for me?

Thanks
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colorado Cannabis Operations Begin Banking With Bitcoin on: November 07, 2016, 06:44:02 PM
This industry is going to be pressed as the big dogs move their product into position. There are some big names getting into the weed game and I suspect with some lobbyists in their pocket they will push out the smaller players.
Just the fact that so many companies have a hard time dealing with deposits from their profits, tells me that they are being strangled for a reason that goes beyond the usual bank heavy hand.
157  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad news about Bitfinex on Reddit. Bitfinex hacked again? on: November 07, 2016, 06:35:21 PM
Starting to think visiting this site when the price is up will only lead me to reading fud to manipulate the price and not actually real news articles. Getting to the point people should be hit with a fudster tag for continual misleading posts. Would crack down on the people that do it and alert new members to the potential posters doing it.
We need to back check these stories instead of spreading them so freely.
158  Economy / Economics / Re: Count down to the U.S. election; A.K.A: S&P 500 armageddon on: November 06, 2016, 09:50:43 PM
Was laughing at this list they have off celebrities leaving the States if Trump wins and then I started to worry,as they are all windbags for the left!
This election is going to be watched by so many Countries,I mean this is a big shift of how things are done in the world. You get Hilary and she is going to go at it with Russia potentially and that will create a massive shit show.
So I am not only waiting for the election but the fall out if she wins, already starting to see some nutjobs taking things into their own hands.

Price is going to rollercoaster or go skyhigh, hows that for depth? Grin
Have never been really good at predicting its moves, wish I was better.

160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla's building a solar roof , It can be a good days for bitcoin miners? on: November 06, 2016, 08:27:44 PM
The trend with Tesla has been to pump a product to get endorsements and funding and then proceed to either give a product with glitches or fall backwards.
Almost get the feeling they need money constantly coming in to be innovative in the manner they are trying to push.
When they blewup that last shuttle with Zuckerburg's pet project in it,the blow back was pretty telling and it could drive a rift in the future when they are seeking funds.

To get involved in Solar means they have enough money to get around the lobbyists and have a inside track to proceed. I really doubt the utilities racket are sitting there waiting for Tesla to walk in and strip their profits down to nothing.
Innovative but a long way from establishing a foot hold.
