321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circlepay in iOS 10 on: September 30, 2016, 08:19:07 PM
Any link to this story?

This sounds pretty good but I am sure this is a America only project and us Canucks will have to wait. Its still a nice aspect to have that I would not have been able to do otherwise. Maybe I have not shopped around enough lately but I am pretty sure I do not have something equal to this available in my Country.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: September 30, 2016, 05:44:13 PM
If you look at poker freerolls the answer is "yes"! Grin
Maybe I am jaded but on the two sites I play on its obvious where the cheats are coming from and how it is worth their time to collude or play multiple accounts in one tourney.
Was watching a vice documentary that was showing cigarettes being smuggled from Ukraine into other bordering Countries and the profit was slight but enough to pay for a months wages there. So bitcoin can fill the void for some by just playing faucets all day and give them a better life than before bitcoin. The challenge is having access to the internet.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why Bitcoin P2P lending is dead. on: September 30, 2016, 05:39:23 PM
These sites that offer p2p lending are usually going to attract people that you would have stayed clear of otherwise but the site has given them enough credentials to make it look worthwhile. The reality is that very few can profit because it takes a certain kind of person to be able read through b.s and see the warning signs. Here we have the backup of selling the members account which usually ends you up in the plus if you do it right.
There is a reason banks do not get involved in small loans and leave it to cheque cashing shops. The default rates are high and the banks would be tied up in this small aspect and it would be to labour intensive for them to waste time on. If you are not juicing the person hard on interest and a collateral that will pay off the loan, its not worth the time.

With every business in bitcoin we have a bunch of people that think they can copy the mold and make a profit.
Take a look at all the default poker sites as a example of people thinking its as easy as bing bang boom!

Have not kept up with his views on bitcoin and will watch this when I get home. Unable to watch videos on my work computer, sadly but I do appreciate the link and will come back and edit after watching. Thanks Smiley
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As the Global Economy Falters, Bitcoin Offers an Alternative for Prosperity on: September 30, 2016, 04:52:18 PM
The reason government has so much sway is people have forgotten what it takes to actually stand up and change.
People die and in masses to change these corrupt systems and the population has become lazy and unwilling to resist bending.
Unions are dying because people do not know where the 5 day work week came from, they do not understand that people died for these changes.
The farther we go with these global elitists the harder we will pay to gain back what is rightful ours.

Bitcoin may get hampered but there is nothing stopping us from creating a fallback in case bitcoin ends up in the cross hairs.
Enough people are coming together now that have like minds that we can push back.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sacrifice privacy for Ease of Use and better features than Bitcoin? on: September 30, 2016, 04:42:35 PM
The people that are willing to sacrifice personal data for smoothness/speed are the same people that are short term hanger on folks.
They do not see the bigger picture and could care a less how and what they give up to make a quicker buck.
More of the older members are able to still feel what bitcoin should be in changing the world, rather than bowing to government.

If Alt coins want to go the speed route I have no issues with that and believe there is room for all kinds of coins or systems in the crypto world. But I feel to alter bitcoin is to exploit the true essence of world changing power into pretty much nothing special at all.

Banks control us hand in hand with the government, bitcoin is giving us that chance to get away from manipulative systems.
327  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoin P2P lending is dead? on: September 29, 2016, 09:11:30 PM
The issue of lending has more to do with a need for something with a few more ways to verify the person in need of bitcoin.
We have witnessed a lot of default loans due to multiple issues besides just running off with funds. For example some people find this a quick way to sell a account and are willing to take a lower amount for a quicker sale. In essence the loaner knows this and shades the loan to their advantage knowing this is a high possibility.
Something better should come along that does not require more personal info like some of the lending sites but a way to establish barriers for less chance of default.

The bitcoin industry as a whole has a issue, where they are dealing with a lot of people from around the world where a few american bucks in bitcoin equals a monthly pay cheque. You can see this in the poker scene for bitcoin as it attracts people from Countries that are not well off. So they play the freerolls and sometimes load the deck in their favor by playing multiple accounts.

Without crossing into more personal details for the person requiring a loan,I am at a lost to how the situation can be cleaned up over night. The trust system is a guide and exploited here,so I would not gauge anything off of it.
328  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Max amount of btc once you own? on: September 29, 2016, 08:58:20 PM
Opened this thread thinking it was asking about a potential limit to how many bitcoins could be owned, was hoping to learn something new. Sad
The more bitcoin I own at one time the more stupid I get with it,so I try to keep it at a safe enough level where I do not start licking my lips and thinking about doubling it some how. Tendency to buy high also does not help matters.
329  Economy / Services / Re: FortuneJack.com NEW Campaign – Earn up to 0.2 BTC A Month!!! Weekly Payments. on: September 29, 2016, 08:54:42 PM
@TwitchySeal

It would explain why a lot of them come out of the woodwork to respond in a echo fashion that supports the site.
Would be nice if FJ took a look at the people in their signature campaign to see some members are costing them, rather than adding players with their overzealous responses.
Would be funny if it turned out to be true but then it also would be curious why he/she was able to get so many accounts into the campaign when others could not.
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: September 29, 2016, 08:48:56 PM
China has its hands in so many pots these days it would be hard not to believe they tap into bitcoin in some aspect.
Especially with cyber warfare becoming the new cool thing for governments to do to each other, bitcoin is one way to put a dent in the opposition.
As for manipulating the price, its hard not to factor in the cheap electricity costs to run a farm for bitcoin in China. But unsure how much deeper than that it would go and it gets into tinfoil hat Country, which I am trying to keep my head out of these days. Cheesy
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin died tomorrow on: September 29, 2016, 04:56:03 PM

If bitcoin died...

You cannot kill Bitcoin.

Its a hypothetical question and neither you or I can see the future of bitcoin,so it is not as stupid as it may come across at first glance.
If something is unable to be accessed it is as good as dead in my eyes, say the internet goes down for good as a example. Or a country decides it has ownership of the net which is being chewed out frequently. Keep a open mind and you will not be caught with you pants down.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: huffington post article "crypto currencies: A time to invest?" on: September 29, 2016, 04:28:38 PM
Have gotten to the point when I come across a bitcoin article in one of the business magazines or papers I skim read them.
Quite often its the same storyline and points, showing they did little investigating to fill their article space. Its usually negative and points to issues that are for sure bad but rarely reinforce the positive.
For this article it reads similar besides the mention at the end about different technology. So I was not to impressed with the article.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin died tomorrow on: September 29, 2016, 04:20:01 PM
Would change my life in a very small aspect and most likely slow down my pentient for throwing money into areas I am better off not getting into in the first place. Could see this as a possible outcome for bitcoin if it gets regulated to death. Things come and go and we evolve into new sometimes better things, sometimes worse.

335  Other / Off-topic / Re: Steady Way To earn Bitcoin Online... on: September 25, 2016, 03:40:31 PM
Lots of steady ways that usually require some form of self restraint, something I still need to tackle when it comes to gambling or investing.
Seems I can get caught up in clicking and lose perspective of money aspect and see it more like a game. Cheesy
But there are plenty of slow and steady ways that just require time in exchange,so if you are willing to work for peanuts to start you will have tons of options.
336  Other / Off-topic / Re: how bitcoin is popular in your country ? on: September 25, 2016, 03:00:45 PM
Its hard to gauge these days as there do not seem to be many positive stories related to bitcoin in the local media. Usually they are pumping out anything negative without to much research to see if their story if factual.
Few bitcoin atms have disappeared in prominent spaces but have been replaced with ones inside coffee shops, but they are only usually found in one set chain.
Other places are headshops for the most part and that limits who enters the place to get some bitcoin.

338  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 23, 2016, 09:42:52 PM
I would always suggest being ready for all aspects of financial breakdown,so relying on one more than the other would be shortsighted.

Banks are afraid of bitcoin because people are tied to their banks through very few aspects and breaking those bonds leaves them dangling with no support.
With bitcoin is threatens the established foundation of depositing funds into a bank for safe keeping and using them to transact.
Next step would be investing and then credit and they would be done and I see that as a good thing.
But I would not put all my eggs into bitcoin either because the internet could go down and then where would you be?
339  Other / Off-topic / Re: What value does Bitcoin bring to you? on: September 23, 2016, 09:38:57 PM
The freedom I gained from bitcoin was being able to move money without having the bank or government peering in. Banks and government work hand in hand and when you are in trouble with one its a short skip to them locking up any bank accounts you may have kicking around to get what they feel they deserve.
So when I was fighting with the government over a issue that turned out to be on their end, they threatened and proceeded to do what they felt was right to get their funds. But it was a case of one arm of the government not talking to the other and it was sorted out.
But it opened my eyes to how quickly they could run me into the ground if I relied solely on my bank to provide me with my own money.
So I seek new ways of living and even dabbled into the off the grid movement to see if I could stomach the life if time came.

Bitcoin is freedom, once it is regulated it loses that zeal.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: The new British five pound note on: September 23, 2016, 09:17:17 PM
Tracking money would be scary and stupid. If I hand a friend a fiver and he spends it,I could see where,is that what you are driving at?
Seems to big brother for my liking but I would not doubt this would be something they would like to establish for a greater good.

You check out the Aussie bill?
