141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ ▀▄▀▄▀ BITBAR on BTER now LIVE ▀▄▀▄▀ ★★ on: May 08, 2013, 01:30:45 PM
I'm not bashing this coin (I don't have any so maybe I'm a bit jelly..)

but I seriously cannot imagine any coin being higher than BTC, that's just my opinion.

Will be very interesting to see where this goes.
For example  if 1 block feathercoin reward 0.0001 instead of 200 then yes 1 feathercoin will > 1 bitcoin
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTB] BtB on: May 08, 2013, 06:53:30 AM
unless you need some cash for utility bill i would wait till BTB hit the exchange. Less worry about being scammed.

can we have your transaction record screenshoot?
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitBar a scam? on: May 06, 2013, 05:59:53 PM
Seems like these guys who pre-mined the BitBars are posting sell offers that are really high. Then they make new accounts with like 10 posts offering to sell cheaper. People see that and think they are getting cheap bars so they buy.
Premined means the coin was mined before public release. Only 60 BTB was premined by the author to test the network and he put them up as BOUNTY for the first BTB exchange.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is still holding on to their CNC and why? on: May 06, 2013, 03:44:37 PM
well judging how people mass panic sell btc and ltc, got trolled then mass panic buy again, i would say hold. Also let not forget people/hackers have been trying to manipulate the btc and ltc price by making  0.01 sell order.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to pick a doomed Altcoin [hint pick FTC, CNC, TRC, BitBar, RUC] on: May 06, 2013, 12:17:53 PM
i was about to take your post seriously then i see

Quote
Bitbar - the most transparent "Read Set Go Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine *FUCK OFF ITS NOT A PREMINE YOU HATER*" altcoin I have ever seen. Same applies to CNC.

when i see a post with nothing but ad hominem (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem) i know the author have some hidden agenda.

152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone else noticed that the Litecoin network hashrate has dropped 50% on: May 05, 2013, 02:09:05 PM
Right now it's listed as 7 on Vircurex. It was 15 a couple of weeks back. Obviously Feathercoin mining has taken a chunk out of it, but still I am surprised it's fallen like that.

I remember checking just 2-3 days ago and it was 12 or something so it's taken a big hit
litecoin  diff increased significantly when its price still going around $3-$4. Let not forget them time when it went down to $1.5 yet diff still increased.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [wts]7 bitbar for 15btc or equal value in ltc on: May 05, 2013, 11:06:03 AM
Guys. Why so expensive this alt.coin?

Only 100 of these Bitbars get produced a day across the entire network. They were designed to be very rare.

Well, not really:

1. 60 blocks after the genesis block were premined
2. Difficulty for the first 735 blocks was so low that it can't even be shown on the explorer
3. For the premine period, 59.644201 BTB were generated in little less than 4 minutes
4. For the difficulty under 0.001 period excluding the premine period, 600.324139 BTB were created in little more than 20 minutes

http://btb.cryptocoinexplorer.com/chain/BitBar?hi=736&count=737
it started with around 0.35 bar/block so 60 block premined is only about 20 BTB
and after that 20 min diff sky rocketed. Also the more block generated the lower reward per block

Hey noob, you have no clue what you are talking about. Take some time and actualy analyse BitBar blockchain, all data it takes to realise the truth is there.

Hi, Mr-I-missed-the-early-train-so-this-is-a-scam-coin If you take some time and actually show your analyses, people would actually start reading your post.

open  chn coin.exe > Receive Coin > New Address

thanks for the response, sterob.  I appreciate you taking the time to post in here.
Perhaps I should have been more specific: I am looking for how to make a 2nd wallet for pure cold storage in my safe, and use my current wallet as a transfer/intermediary wallet.
backup your wallet.dat and delete the file in appdata/roaming folder

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can LTC only be mined by GPU's? on: May 05, 2013, 02:27:51 AM
Ah okay, thanks for the reply. Guess I have to build a whole second computer with 6 graphic cards, damn.

I always wondered how some people get 10,000 KH/s + when mining litecoin. If those are GPU's, that is one large investment.

10 MH is like 20x7950 which is only 5 rig total.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick Rig question on: May 05, 2013, 12:43:05 AM
Yes, its enough. Just don't OC your CPU.

There is plenty of OC room too. It might not even be possible to OC enough with only air cooling to exceed that PSU's rating.

Ok... The HX750 can give max of 600w at 80% of time, so 600w whenever we need it.
If you are talking about no brand name china PSU, yes. However HX750 is OEM by seasonic. And with seasonic the wattage rating often means it will deliver 750W after efficiency calculation.

err are you high TS?

$1,199 for a 7970 rig???

you can get a p45 mainboard, 2gb ram, a celeron for $150. Then a 7970 cost around $400 on newegg.
including psu it would only cost around $600

then  look at your TNT $2,549 - 3000 khash

5x 7950@ $300 = $1500
Mobo+CPU+8gbRAM+HDD = $200
1200W Coirsair AX1200 = $265
DIY rack $30 maximum

total $2000
