141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: April 25, 2017, 04:09:52 PM
Hey guys,

So I've been running into this issue now for the past few days and I cant seem to get around it:

http://imgur.com/a/xdIJH

I'm running 6 GTX 1070 with the latest drivers and I'm using version 0.3.3b for the miner. I've searched through this thread and saw a suggestion to try--solver 1 or 2 but had no luck there. Also, in order to even get this to run I have essentially underclock both the core and memory drastically..if I dont, I'll get the same error immediately. I have a log of this if anyone wants to take a look.

I'd really appreciate any help!

Thanks

Code: 77 -- Check yr GPU memory (one card at a time). Try using MemtestG80 and test for at least 4096mb video ram.

Did you try unticking   -Unlock voltage control  and  -Unlock voltage monitoring?
1070's become unstable when they are ticked.

Hello there! Grin

First wanna say TY for dev for thise miner!!! Its really important for me, because im only my first 24h in mining and this is firs miner that i was able to figure out what to do)

I really need help from you, guys to anderstand what is going on!
I have my msi 1070 armor, and now trying to understand 1 thing - can i actually get $2.84/day as "WHat to mine" culc says for mining ZEC.
Now im mining ZEC on suprnova and miner shows me 450 sol (some OC). In *.bat file im using standart setting wich is "miner --server zec.suprnova.cc --user ***.q1 --pass q1 --port 2142".

I allready mined for 22 hours=0.02624205 ZEC, so simmple culc and i figere that in 24 hours i will have 0.028627691 ZEC = 0.00158712 BTC (best exchange in poloneix now). So it is 1.91$ per day!!! I probably missing something, i'm shure!! I tried before nicehash automatic mining and it shows me in stayistic that i will have 65$/month = 2.16$/day.
So:
1. Using gtx 1070;
2. EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner Version 0.3.3b. (miner shows 450 sol) ""miner --server zec.suprnova.cc --user ***.q1 --pass q1 --port 2142""
3. Mining on suprnova pool
The question is:
1. Let me know if i missing smthg in my culculations;
2. Is it fine to have 1.91$/day with my rig?
3. what i need to change in miner settings to get more profit?

Screenshots of working miner with standart settings

Really TY you guys for answers and whaiting for them with patience! Because need to decide asap to buy or not to buy new rig)

1.
2.Dont bother too much with revenu discrepancies, they never are the same.
3.450 S/s is not bad but with EWBF you should get around 480 H/s - - Clock +100  Mem +495

Hello, I've been mining with this miner for a few weeks now and I noticed that when my PC is idle (As in no mouse movement, screen locked) the sol/s goes down from ~480 to about 140 sol/s. This is with a gtx 1070 and monitoring software tells me that gpu usage drops to about 90-95 from 100% when idle and the GPU core clocks and memory clocks stay the same. Is this is known bug and can I bypass it by doing something? Mining speed becomes severely low when I'm not using the computer (as in when I leave it to mine throughout the night). I think this might be caused by the windows 10 creator's update because I didn't notice this issue before updating to creator's update, so it might be related to that.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are answering your own question. Wink

That doesn't really help me but okay.

Obviously you have to set the power management settings.
Did you try to set the screen and sleep settings to : NEVER?

Anyway, thanks for sharing the solution.

I' am facing strange thing with my rig. I can't start 4 x Gtx 1060 cards. Only 3 of them working on the same time. If I launching any random 3 of them it just fine. At 4x driver crashes and you have to restart OS.
W7
latest nvidia drivers
0.3.3b miner version.

Any ideas? I have only 4G RAM, maybe here the issue?

What mobo are you using?

I have kind of same problem with a MSI z170. I cannot use a 5th card on it. I know it is a recuring problem
with this board but I didnt have time to "mine" the solution yet.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: April 10, 2017, 07:47:39 PM
I'm running this on Suprnova and mining randomly stops every 10s of minutes saying that GPU has been rejected. If I press enter on the cmd window the mining resumes again.

Currently I'm using autohotkey to press enter for me in the cmd window every once in a while. Are there any neater ways around this?

Sorry I'm new to cryptocurrencies.

Does it do the same on other pools?
Have you tried on Flypool?

hello this miner works great I was wondering 2 things

mining zclassic

it is very fast when starting the file but then it slows down a lot. If I close the miner and restart it is fast finding lots of shares then slows down is that normal?

how can I have the miner start when the computer turns on so if power goes off and computer restarts the miner will automatically start

thanks

You can clic & drag the Startup folder to the Desktop and put your Bat. file in.
Quote
C:\Users\Mining\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Bat. file

You can try this one for an hour to make sure it works and then modify the tADDRESS.rig with yours....or not.  Tongue

Windows defender has now marked version 3.2b as a virus and will block the file.

I'm also just finding this out.........   disable win defender?  lol

Just  an fyi if you loose the miner.exe file off your system and running windows 10, you can thank defender for auto deleting the file without permission for that, only way around it seeing you cant permanently disable defender is to allow an exception, have to use admin account disable realtime protection and then unzip and point to the miner.exe file and exclude it, else one day you'll wont have the file.

windows 10 is a spying os.... its a piece of shit you cant turn updates off.. its always changing... windows 8.1 FTW you can disable defender and turn windows updates off (so it wont auto update and restart you rig with out you knowing..

You can do this using the Windows Update service. Via Control Panel > System and Security,> Administrative Tools, you can access Services.
In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the process. To turn it off, right-click on the process, click on Properties and select Disabled . That will take care of Windows Updates not being installed on your machine.

And you measured the indications from the socket where the power plug of the watt / ampere meter came in and it showed 400 watts?

yes.

When you lower the TDP of the card, they pull less power and produce less hashrate. A Tdp of 60% gives around 60W per card in the rig. so around 360 for 6 cards, and 50 for the motherboard.. If you increase to 100%tdp you gain some hashrate (+5-10%) but use 40-50% more power

Strange but my device for measuring consumption in the outlet says the opposite. He says that the energy consumption has fallen by 40%, but 4 cards are not showing much less than 435. Whence at you 400 watt on 6 cards I do not know, can because of that I use 2 power units overspending but I will check this theory.

Good rule of thumb is if you total 500w for all added components you need a 1000w PSU. As soon as you go over 60 % capacity of
your PSU, Power efficiency decreases producing heat instead of power.
If you  ask 800w from your 1000w PSU at 80% efficiency it will really pull 960w from the wall and your PSU wont last very long.
(Figures are approximatives)

Its just like your car, if you always drive it with the R.P.M. near the red area you will change car much often. (and will use more gas)

Which driver version?
Do yo play any games on that rig?

I've been running ewbf 0.3.2b for about a week with no problems.  I got it here from links in the 1st post.  I started having trouble with my bandwidth so I switched off the computer (running Windows 10) for a day or so and it seemed to help.  Next day when I restarted the miner.exe with the modified flypool.bat file I was using all along, the program output a message.  I can't remember what it said but it was something like "invalid connection" or "invalid pool".  Right away I ran the .bat file again and then miner.exe was gone, it had evidently deleted itself.  I turned the pc off right away.  When I turned it back on a day later my bandwidth seemed to take a hit again.  The bandwidth slump could be coincidental but I find it very suspicious that a program would delete itself (or hide itself).  What purpose would it serve?  I ran it from a command prompt so there was no way I deleted it by accident.  I don't usually post unless I can't find any info.  I just wanted to share my experience.  I'm not saying the program is harmful but did it do anything else suspicious besides delete (or hide) itself?

Of note...Zotac 1060 6gb mini temp rises to 77-79C even with fan cooling.
Speed 285-290 H/s.
Another thing i noticed: don't use narrow risers with a non-molex non-SATA connector, forgot their name.
Those can only handle 36W, apparently, vs SATA 54W.
Strangely enough, they were OK on sapphire 470 OC, but I tried with Zotac for a minute and it was overheating (riser above 44C with a fan), even though Zotac has the same TDP as RX 470 OC (120W).

I also had a problem with a 1060 and (I am assuming you are talking about the same Electop risers).  Strange they were great for amd r9 300 series; but now I have removed them from all my rigs.  Pascal cards usually don't pull much power over from the mobo; I think they selectively do with certian mobos.  This riser fail happened with an ASRock H97 Anniversary.  I blame the mobo as well as the riser.

I use thin ribbon risers with most of my 1060 rigs.  I have a ton of Zotac 1060 6gb mini rigs; solid cards can handle OC of 150 cc, 600 mc with almost all cards.

Did it fry the Mobo aswell?
Were you using 1 or 2 PSU? If so, in wich configuration?

Can someone please tell me how to use --logfile to create a log?

Thanks

see Comment 2142 OR

miner --help

I did try this "--logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log", but that didn't generate a log, the help file says that --log would log create a log, but it didn't! So, I'm not sure what I'm missing! I thought that the log would be saved in the same miner folder, but there is no log!!

--log 2 --logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log
should generate ZCASHxxxxxxx.ewbf log file in the miner folder.

@m1n1ngP4d4w4n:
In a 2 PSU system like you have what happens if the secondary PSU fails or
someone switch it off Inadvertently?

Then you would lose what ever is powering it...  if its just gpu's some or all then you lose them, if its the mobo then you lose it all

Ok but wont the Mobo catch on fire if a gpu is not powered?

I'm trying to use this miner but after about a minute of mining I get an error: CUDA: Device 1 Thread exited with code 30" for all the GPU's. Anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated...

Is your Core+mem speed throttling? If so then  you need to adjust the Power Limit(%) up
until it stops throttling.

Hey all,
I originally downloaded Pimp 2.0 Nvidia on my main PC (not rig)
Tried to copy it to a 32G usb to transfer it to my rig -- says Disk Full.
------------------------solved by using DVD to transfer the files over to the rig.-------------

Then I tried to log to my account/download page from my rig to download it
directly on it but I cant get passed the login page.
Says I have to buy Pimp first.  Undecided
