I would assume it has to be... SHA2 is part of scrypt, after all..

Any chance we might get AntMiner S1 control via bfgminer and MuM Huh

I got my Antminer U2 today also, no luck so far. I'm using Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.  SiLab drivers installed. Windows sees the device in corect port. The miner has a steady Red LED but BFGMiner has No New Device Found. I can't find any info from Bitmain for these either. Well, except for pricing.

I've contacted both Bitmain and resellers about getting a sample so we can upgrade the driver. No responses yet. I'd heard these were compatible with the U1 but apparently not.

Please add the AntMiner S1 to the MuM armory  Grin
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: March 09, 2014, 04:21:29 PM
I just installed Ubuntu 13.10 and MuM 2.7.6 and the first time it ran I configured LTC and it recognized my 4 CPUs and 2 GPUs (5970s). It began hashing but at one-twentyfifth the expected hash rate. So I added scrypt parameters:
   -I 18 --lookup-gap 2 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8000 --gpu-engine 725 --gpu-memclock 1000 --auto-fan
and now it will not hash.
I installed AMD drivers per this guy (http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/08/headless-linux-litecoin-miner-setup/):
   sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates fglrx-updates-dev
   sudo aticonfig --lsa
   sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --initial
   sudo reboot
   sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --odgt
   sudo apt-get install openssh-server byobu
   sudo apt-get install curl
   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get upgrade
The monitor works great. I had previously tried installing AMD proprietary drivers but every time all I got was a black screen. So I did a fresh Ubuntu 13.10 install as above.
I installed bfgminer and MuM according to your instructions:
   sudo apt-get install mono-complete
   sudo add-apt-repository ppa:unit3/bfgminer
   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get install bfgminer
   mono MultiMiner.Win.exe

Any suggestions how I can get hashing?
I read that the current version of bfgminer has cpumining disabled so it seems the ppa version is old. I searched for "bfgminer" but I can't find where it resides. It's not in the subfolder under MuM. Is there a better way to install bfgminer so MuM will keep it current? TIA

Does anyone know how to keep AntMiner from logging out so fast Huh

Does anyone know if BitMain will include bfgminer so an AntMiner S1 can be controlled by MultiMiner Huh

I've got an oldish PC fan on the front of this at the moment but I'd rather have a decent one as the Stock fan at the back is quite loud. Is there a recommended CFM to use with these?

Temps are 42C at the moment, is this normal?

I use Artic F12 PWM fans. One on each end both blowing in. Make sure it can breath freely from the bottom, e.g. a wire shelf or little block in the 4 corners.

42C sounds good but it really depends on the ambient temperature as to how cool you can run. At this moment mine are ranging from 38 (out in the cold garage) to 51 (inside in between 2 others).

From v2.7.5 notes:
•Addressed minor issues in preparation for BFGMiner 4.0
•Initial support for recognizing Scrypt ASICs during Quick Switch
•Initial support for detecting Scrypt ASICs during Scan Hardware

Will BTGMiner 4.0 be integrated into AntMiner S1s Huh  I sure hope so.

Scrypt ASICs, do tell, who is selling them Huh

I have multiminer checking for straight profitability every 5 minutes from coinwarz, I know when it switches to a different coin it restarts the miner, does it restart every 5 minutes even if it's the same coin? also for the people that use multiminer for multiswitching, do you think coinchoose is a better option than coinwars in terms of profitabilility? I bought 50000 api calls from coinwarz, but I never compared it agains coinchoose which is free.

Wise move to use CoinWarz. I was having a lot of problems with CoinChoose and that's why I went ahead and bought a CoinWarz subscription. CW keeps adding new coins and is almost always up.

I think CC is just withering on the vine.

The one issue that I don't know the answer to is whether CW adjusts for stales and rejects. He didn't used to and I don't know if he's doing or not. For MuM strategy I select Probability Kind: Profitability Adjusted for Stales. Wishful thinking, perhaps.
149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Setting Up Antminer S1 with Wi-Fi Antenna on: February 25, 2014, 09:07:02 PM
Your router should also be able to assign it a static IP

Only if your router can see it in the first place. Having my router assign a static IP to the ethernet wan did not get me wifi. Setting my wan to DHCP Client and setting a static IP for my wwan and restarting with cable unplugged did not get me wifi either.
150  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: February 25, 2014, 05:15:47 PM
I bought 2 antminers from Bitmain during Chinese New Year, and they arrived a few days ago.  One of them's a little sketchy though...
It has thermal paste on almost every screw and around the edges of the board.  A little different from the others I have received.  I could post pictures if you want to see what I'm talking about.

The main problem with this board is that I cannot get it mining; whether that is a network problem or a blade problem I do not know.

I've set up several ants before and I am an advid linuxr, so I assume it's the board's problem and not me.

I scanned for a network in the wifi tab, and it found mine with about a 40% connection, which, I assume, is decent.  It's adjacent to my other ants and they work, so I assume it's not a distance issue.  It creates the new network successfully; however, it says it has a 0% connection with no data up or down.  My other miners connect and start running as soon as I complete this step.

My mining pool is configured, my LAN is DHCP, my WAN is static with 8.8.8.8 for DNS, I can log in to the WebUI with no issues.  It's configuration is essentially the same as my other miners; however, this one is not working.

Any suggestions on how I can start her up?

I've already contacted Bitmain, and I am waiting their response on exchanging this one for a new one.  In the meanwhile, I would like it to mine somehow through my computer's connection through Ethernet.  I don't want it sitting here like a paperweight until I get a replacement.

I'll tip anyone $20 or more who gives me some working advice.

Kind regards,

EDIT: Some additional info:
Every time I turn it off, it forgets my network and my time synchronization, even if I hit save and apply; however, it remembers my mining configuration.
Also, the C31 light emitting diode blinks consistently with a frequency of a little under 1 Hz.
No LEDs are lit on the blades.

Mine did not keep the right time and gave me problems. So I went here: http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/
I'm in the US so I went to the System tab and replaced the stock NTP servers with:
0.us.pool.ntp.org
1.us.pool.ntp.org
2.us.pool.ntp.org
3.us.pool.ntp.org

Hey guys for those of you who are getting your antminers tomorrow I have a couple of videos on youtube which tell you how to setup and overclock your antminers so you can get them running and oced inside 10 minutes of getting them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akw9GAeIH5k

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72FU4Z_n0B4

Thanks for the great setup videos. Now if I could just find one to get S1 to mine via WiFi.
152  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Suggestion for how to choose a pool difficulty for miners. on: February 24, 2014, 06:33:15 PM
Set your diff to your worker's hashrate in GH/1.4

So add up the hashrate of all my miners that contribute work to a pool under the same worker name. Is that right Huh

E.g., say I have 5 AntMiner S1s named Aurum.Ant then I should specify 1,000/1.4 = 512 (rounded down to the nearest power of 2) as my minimum diff.
153  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-18] GSX I CoinTerra Mining Card on: February 20, 2014, 12:17:03 PM

The CoinTerra GSX-I will be stillborn. It's 33% more expensive than their TerraMiner-IV and by the time it's delivered the BTC difficulty will exceed 10 billion. One could never recoup the purchase price.

BTC mining is dead unless SHA mining equipment drops an order of magnitude in price.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 20, 2014, 12:12:34 PM
Thanks that is cool.
I have been pestering DualMiner by the way to hurry up and release the scrypt side info so you guys can get support added in for it.
With any luck enough of us will get them to do so sooner.
I am not sure why they are so secretive about it unless they think someone will be able to steal secrets from them somehow.  Huh

I have a silly request but one that still could help me.
When say there is an update and MuMi closes and reopens all my setting go back to default like say I drag the border between my devices and my listed systems running MuMi on it so I can see all the rates and such.
Can there be something added to let it keep my settings if MuMi is restarted or closed and opened??

Sure totally reasonable. I think there are a few UI settings I'm not saving currently. I'll get it in the next update.

At $98 the DualMiner USB at 70 kH/s will never recoup the purchase price. It has to be less than $20 to be reasonable. Why encourage its use Huh

Or the reason was, that i'm don't answering at forums? Please sorry that i'm spending my time improving my project, that will make btc to all of us, instead of chatting with you.

You raised your fee on withdrawals from 1% to 5%.

Where are you from? You have a strange use of English vocabulary. You use level in two ways and one way seems to be synonymous with bank.

I read your explanation of how your so-called "passive income" scheme works and I do not understand it. From what I've read here it seems that when I withdraw funds it's by selling half of those funds to some passive investor at fifty cents on the dollar.

What does the "L" mean in this line: "50% bonus from xlincn (0.12 L)" Huh

Ok, AntMiner S1 is mining and the wrong instance of MuM discovered it. Since worker name goes with the coin and not the device that's not good since that MuM is running itty bitty Block Eruptors that like diff 1. The pools use the worker name to associate it with a preferred diff.

Is there a way to get AntMiner S1 to show up on the fast MuM instance Huh

If you are using the Network Device support, the AntMiner is mining whatever you have it set to mine in the Web UI for it. MultiMiner is not controlling that.

Huh Huh That makes no sense. Then why am I using MuM if it doesn't control what coin is being mined Huh

What's that got to do with diff Huh

I got my first AntMiner S1 today and plugged it into my LAN but MuM 2.6.3 does not see it. What does "allow RPC API access" mean? I can't find anywhere to set that.
It's different for each standalone ASIC, but basically they usually run a version of BFGMiner or cgminer which means you need to alter the arguments or configuration file to pass in --api-listen and --api-allow. When it comes to the AntMiner S1 it's cgminer and a configuration file.

The first step is to SSH into the AntMiner S1 as root, password root

Use vi to edit /etc/config/cgminer

Add/alter the following line: option api_allow 'W:127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0/24'

Adjust the IP range as needed for your own network based on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIDR_notation#CIDR_notation

Restart the miner using the Web UI and wait a few minutes. The miner should show up in MultiMiner automatically.

Ok, you whipped out your Linux and made me feel all stupid. I'm guessing that cgminer is loaded inside the AntMiner with a Linux OS. It comes with zero documentation and I searched the forums but folks assume everybody knows Linux.  What do I type on the OpenSSH command line to "to SSH into the AntMiner S1" Huh

EDIT: Found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72FU4Z_n0B4

After updating this last client, Multiminer does nothing but freeze up... (Win 7 x64)

MuM 263 is running better'n ever for me. What's a "freeze" Huh  Are you using CoinWarz at 5 minutes by any chance? Your freeze may be their quota. Switch to CoinChoose.

...the AntMiner S1) automatically show up in MultiMiner with zero configuration (devices themselves must allow RPC API access)

I got my first AntMiner S1 today and plugged it into my LAN but MuM 2.6.3 does not see it. What does "allow RPC API access" mean? I can't find anywhere to set that.

Also, AntMiner S1 comes with cgminer installed. Should I disable that?

Might want to look on github for latest firmwaer as their one that come out 3 days ago that fixed the problems with cgminer

Thx, will that problem with cgminer stop it from mining using MuM Huh

I followed somebody's instructions to log into S1 and switch static IP to dynamic. It took me a long time to correct that error by finding a link to the little manual and the S2 reset button.

Now I'm trying to learn how to "SSH into AntMiner." I installed Cygwin with OpenSSH.
