141  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinbet.cc -- $340,000 stolen, the worst 45 days of my life. [Long] on: April 23, 2014, 04:49:55 AM

SON OF A BITCH!!!! Were you part of that?

Coinboss reached out to me via PM after everything was said and done with that 20k fiasco. In case you all don't know, I threw lots of gas on that fire and many others. Anyways, coinboss confessed, told me how he cheated the software. And it wasn't by out smarting the game.

So coinbet hired him cuz he had skills, eh?! Interesting. They're still in the scene I bet. New server, new name, new games.

He had no "skills" and neither did I. I even had to show him how to use forum software at first (here and at other crypto forums). I have a small crypto investment group at work. If he told you that it was probably after being hired by them trying to calm the storm. That was the only thing I knew about. I have no idea how he would have cheated the software unless he was referencing what I posted above, but that's not really cheating.

  • Part 2: The Death Threat

So, if you read my previous post you know that I was just small timing it, but CoinBoss decided to test the system. Using the plays I showed him, he started racking up big money, increasing bets each time and was soon at over $20K. He tried to cash out and received an email stating that his account was under manual review. That's fine, no cheating, just playing their rigged games to his advantage (like any of you would). He sends back an email asking what was going on and then they call him back (he put his actual info into their system on sign-up). They were dicking him around and he came to my office to talk to me about it and fill me in on what was going on. I told him that it was dumb to have tried to get $20K payout from them, and that he would probably never see any money (not true). He called them and recorded the conversation and uploaded/linked it to the thread. In the conversation they were saying that for them to send him 21K that first he had to send them 7K so that there computer "software" could release the funds.  Huh LOL   They said they had manually reviewed his play and approved it (which is true, since no cheating was involved) and that it was a software issue on their side that could only be fixed by him paying them 7K.  Shocked

He then kept on the thread calling them out and trying to support his case to get paid. I wanted no part of it. Meanwhile I tried to cash out some of the money that was owed to me and was banned because I have the same IP at work as CoinBoss. Whatever, they did refund my initial deposit back though. After that I didn't play there anymore because 1)they banned me and 2)I wouldn't trust them with a dime.
Anyways, the next day I'm sitting at home and CoinBoss texts me, freaked out that they called up to his work and threatened to kill him. I wasn't there but he sounded scared as hell. I told him to call the police and keep an eye out, meanwhile at my house I pulled out the short barreled 12 gauge and Walther PPK and kept them close at hand. He made a police report and posted it to the thread and texted and told me about it. I looked it up and it had all kinds of identifying information in it and I told him to take it down and get rid of all of his info.

The next day the thread was going crazy, and I was still attempting to stay out of it. I would council CoinBoss about him wanting to press the issue to someone who threatened his life. I wasn't scared because fuck it I live in a rural area and if you want to step on my property I'll put 16 holes into you quick, but why would I need or want that aggravation? I'd rather just stay the fuck out of it.

Anyways they made up a completely bogus email (saying that CoinBoss was scamming them) that was called out by several people in that thread as bogus and would never include any easily provided information to back-up that he sent it. A checksum, the email history would have been easily included and extremely relevant but they couldn't provide it because you know why? He didn't send it. They were just trying to cover their asses and get away from their debts by discrediting a bettor.  The next time I see CoinBoss at work was about 5 days later and he has some interesting news. They have called and he worked out some kind of deal with him. They send him $500+ and recruit him to work for them in some capacity doing with forums because of the uproar he caused. They say that maybe he can turn the tide their way and they'll send him some more money. "Social Engineering" is the backbone of scamming. If you can't get others to do what you want or believe you then your scam isn't going anywhere.

Lucky Cris - Not to call you out, I will say as this whole thing was going on you and a few others were downplaying CoinBoss posts and you had a right to. It's hard to believe shit that you read on the internet (especially death threats) but from my side of things (knowing that everything that was posted by CoinBoss was true) you along with a few others, really helped coinbet's side. I know it wasn't your intention and I'm not blaming you in anyway. I figured with all this out there that hopefully some others would read the posts and decide that it wasn't worth the risk.

Do you have any specific information about these thieves?  names, locations, etc?

Unfortunately not and Coinboss doesn't work at the hospital anymore. I can tell you that they ended up paying him off a little and contracted him to work for them. I don't know if he ever did though. They sent him $500 Western Union and maybe even more that that. According to CoinBoss (a couple months ago) they were supposed to send him even more and were purchasing a computer and some software for him to use for what purposes I do not know, but I told him to be careful if he ever did get that stuff and not to do anything related to real life on that machine, always log in VPN/TOR etc...

Part 1: Backstory

It was me who actually started playing there after I saw there voucher program on one of the threads here. I passed it along to several coworkers who also like to gamble/play games where I work, something to do to pass the time. They got vouchers too and we were having fun. Of course this violated their T&C's since there were multiple people (3-10 I honestly don't know) playing over the next few days with the free voucher money from the same IP. CoinBoss and I both attempted to cashout some winnings and were refused while it was being "investigated". Meanwhile I hit some crazy 6 team parlay for a couple of bitcoins and was playing craps. I tried to cash out and was denied, etc. Here's me bitching about it on their thread. Post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=410999.msg4576163#msg4576163

They reset everyone on the sites balance that used a voucher and were crying abuse on their thread.

I opened a new account and sent in .1 in BTC and didn't take the bonus. At this point I was just actually checking if they would pay out. I won a couple of bets and got it up to .25 BTC and cashed out. No problem. Sent back $27 and this time took the bonus to give me $81. Played a shit ton of poker, blackjack, and craps, some sports bets and met their rollover requirements and went through the run around trying to get my money, but did eventually. Post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=410999.msg4591035#msg4591035

That's when the fun started.

I still had money on their site (I'm up and don't care about the little that's left) and so did CoinBoss. I love to play craps. I had went to the casino with a bunch of the guys from work (and a few girls) and had taught them how to play. I ended up turning $50 into about $1000 playing craps. Coinboss turned $150 into $20K. They refused to pay us both.

Here's the rundown. Their craps game had to have been rigged on their side (most of their casino games were, just read the posts). I figured out a way to make them play fair. I put $10 on pass and don't pass. Even play, if one wins the other loses, even money. After point was established, play the inside but always place an equal amount on come and the 7. If a 7 hit it paid double and this is where I believe their cheating software was screwed up. If you didn't play the 7 it would automatically crap you out at the quickest possible time. It looked at the bets wrong. Every 6-8 rolls it would hit a 2,3,11,12. Just wait until it hits, then count to 6 and start playing those numbers. Load up on them. $5 each. 2 and 12 pay 30-1 and 3 and 11 pay 15-1. Even if it takes 3 rolls(it rarely did) to hit an 11 you are still up $15 ($60 to cover the numbers at $5 each for 3 rolls, 1 win at 15-1 for $75). Usually it didn't take that long, meanwhile anything else rolls you are basically at even money down the line. If a 2/12 hit first roll you profited $130, but you were always guaranteed somewhere between $15-130 every 6-8 rolls. If at anytime you took money off lets say the 6, then it would roll a 6 (this was the same for all numbers) their software calculated win/loss every roll and gave the house the advantage but for some reason did not account for the high risk prop bets I was throwing at it. I do not see this as cheating or gaming the system, it was more like a puzzle I was trying to figure out and after I did the money was coming along nicely.
This is in no way how I bet craps at a casino BTW  Grin

Anyways, If they were a reputable and solid company (without cheating software) and had not dicked me around initially on the voucher program/bonus problems, etc. I would have warned them. But as it was I was content knowing this and would have just used this system for getting more money to bet sports and dragged it along for a while to get a return out of the site. You may think bad of me for doing this, but really, fuck them, they had already stolen thousands upon thousands from others during their voucher fiasco.

I had multiple problems with them as well in the early days and stopped going there after they banned me. I have never been banned from anything in my life, but CoinBoss and I used the same I.P. address (WiFi access spread across multiple large hospitals). I can complete that story and fill in some details if you want.

it's somewhere in that thread

I remember that thread... I ripped their T&C to shreds and called coinbet out several times on it. I'll look in my post history.

Good idea. It's like a daily picks contest. Maybe you should make the payout tiered depending on how many entries you have.

Cooked the steaks up tonight and they were delicious. My son who is in preschool ate 2/3's of 1 of these bad boys. Thick cut, great marbling, one of the best steaks I've ever eaten.

Just got it today. I am planning on firing up the grill tonight  Smiley

Hi:
I just got a message that my first shipment of beef was thawed out on arrival. I must not have used enough dry ice. Any of you who received a non usable sample I am glad to ship again with more dry ice. I apologize if anyone else gets a thawed sample. I will be glad to ship another sample with more dry ice. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

The steaks were thawed but still cold in my shipment. The ground beef was still frozen. I took some pics...
