1401  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will April be a red month? on: April 25, 2023, 06:10:46 AM
There is 5 more days of the month, and since its a little red, it'll most likely turn into a red month or a doji. Most likely we will consolidate in this area for another week or so unless there is some important macro news such as bad CPI, bad employment numbers, fed rate hikes ,etc.

However ever since we bottomed, bitcoin traded most days in a very tight consolidation. Very little liquidity and this will most likely continue. And a red month is not bad if its a small correction and not a massive dump.
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Back in 2021 Form ;) on: April 24, 2023, 03:11:50 PM
Basically the reason why it went below the $2000 mark is due to all the unstaking that is taking place and causing the selling. Crypto is transparent and its very easy to see how much ETH is unstaked everyday. If you are a holder you can see this and know before hand that most of these unstaked ETH will be sent to an exchange and sold. Hence you are hesitant to buy more and will wait until the unstaking slows down.

The amount being deposited doesn't mean anything because those deposited ETH wasn't going to be sold anyways but the unstaked ETH has a higher chance of being sold. This is what might happen if USG sends more BTC to Coinbase to sell or when MtGox releases all those BTC after a decade.
1403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price trajectory using AI on: April 24, 2023, 03:08:05 PM
Honestly reading that reply, it sounds impressive given it was written by AI. Its probably 10x better than what I read on the news sites whenever they report about bitcoin and crypto. I actually completely agree with everything that AI anaylzed.

Sure it should go to ATH due to inflation and money printing, however with the way that governments are cracking down on crypto it might make masses just leave the crypto market due to all these headaches. Will be interesting to see if Gensler is fired and how it goes from here.
1404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: FTT comeback on: April 24, 2023, 04:08:31 AM
People behind this FTX are greedy as hell. Why would they consider launching FTX again despite all what they did to people and screwing their investments due to one man's greediness? I don't think people will trust FTX again with this kind of actions, people will not risk again and loss money for the second time around. TRUST will be the issue here, so FTX will not be trusted again!

How many times does this need to be said. If FTX is relaunched, then SBF won’t be running it again. It’ll be run under a new management. Most likely no previous employees will work with the new exchange.

It will run for a while and if it is successful then it will be sold to another company who can take over and those funds will be used to make people whole again.
1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WARNING] Unknown Exploit Drained Over $10M in past 5 months on: April 24, 2023, 04:05:50 AM
You can’t brute force any seeds or private keys. You can only do that if the entropy is low which might of been created with a brain wallet but these days nobody uses those.

It would take thousands of years to find a collision with another wallet and that wallet might be empty. There is no way it’s done by brute force. I am watching the Twitter replies and hopefully they find some connection.
1406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 24, 2023, 04:01:37 AM
You can buy the etf instead. Which is safer and you don’t need to worry about custody. The larger issue is that there are fees and the BTC etf is driven by the futures and they roll the contracts from time to time. So the longer you hold those etf you might different from the NAV price. Hence it’s not wise to buy certain ETFs for a retirement account because the fees will add up. If you want to just long it for a short while like 6 months or a year then it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
1407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading without fees on: April 24, 2023, 03:58:56 AM
The only reason why they had spot free trading is because they made most of their money with their perp and futures trading. Those had crazy volumes and they made a small amount off the spot trading. So an exchange like Binance can do this.

Other exchanges like Coinbase or Gemini obviously can’t because they need the revenue from fees to survive. Also remember the fees might be free but there is still a spread and depending on the liquidity it might have a large spread between the bid and ask.
1408  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did bitcoin has trading signals and indictors like forex? on: April 24, 2023, 03:55:54 AM
Whether you are trading forex, crypto or stocks. You can use the same technical analysis. Whether it actually works to make you money is another question.

Largest difference between forex and crypto is that crypto usually has larger moves than forex. With forex you can perhaps make 50-75pips on a good day which isn’t much in percentage terms. With crypto it’s not unusual to get 5% daily moves.
1409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining SHA256 Coins in 2023 on: April 24, 2023, 03:52:23 AM
Are you doing this to score a lottery or just to make some small profit?

Because it doesn’t matter what you choose to mine the profitability will be exactly the same pretty much across the different sha256 coins.

If you just want to try your hand at the lottery then mine some of the lower difficulty coins and see if you can hit a block.
1410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How is the chance of $PEPE to become the next $SHIB? on: April 23, 2023, 11:49:17 PM
Shib was different because it was released in a strong bull market and the fact that it got added to actually CEX boosted its value. PEPE is not the same. Its basically being pumped on Twitter and has no utility. The fact that its on different chains doesn't mean much. These days its easy getting listed on the L2 chains.

I would stay away from this PEPE token. You will end up with a token worth 99%. Unless there is evidence its getting listed somewhere decent like Binance I would stay away. These days we are still in a bear markets and these pumps are usually very short. Look at ARB and BLUR. They all would of went up multiplies if we were in a strong bull market but this is not the same market as before.
1411  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina Central Bank Running Out of US Dollars. Bitcoin as a Solution? on: April 23, 2023, 11:26:44 PM
Obviously it would of been better for all the residents of Argentina to buy bitcoin or pretty much anything else since their currency is undergoing hyperinflation. I think their error was cutting rates during covid.

Their inflation peaked in 2019 when they hiked agressively. Then when it started to go down and covid happened they decided to cut the rates. The rate was still like 40% or so however it was down from the 90% peak and it made a difference, now their inflation is higher than ever and undergoing hyperinflation. This is why keeping funds rates low is never a good idea.
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pepe The Frog (PepeBNB) made 644% in 2 days and keeps growing on: April 23, 2023, 11:23:06 PM
I think it went up like 1100% from last week. And there are multiple of these PEPE tokens out there all over Defi and if you are not careful you can get rugged. Some guy ended up making a million or so by buying it early.

Either way, these tokens got no utility. Its basically a pump and dump and if you are reading about it now,  it means the ship has sailed and if you buy now you are going to be a forever bag-holder. Maybe if it gets listed on Binance it might get a higher market cap but I am pretty sure this is a far as it will go.
1413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WARNING] Unknown Exploit Drained Over $10M in past 5 months on: April 23, 2023, 05:03:41 AM
I have been following his thread on Twitter and it’s scary what he discovered. Apparently there were some people whose cold storage and hardware wallet funds were also drained. And he still can’t find the flaw.

Many ETH ICO tokens which were never moved were also stolen and these were OG unlike new retail users. Only thing I can think of is the last pass hack and they kept their seed hosted there. Since the hacks started around that time.
1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Contract Addresses: The need to be more cautious on: April 23, 2023, 04:58:51 AM
This seems similar to an address poisoning however why would you do a phish smart contract exactly ? What would you get out of it? From what I understand you can’t withdraw from a smart contract so what is the point exactly?

With regular addresses they are hoping you only look at the first few and last few characters and copy and paste the wrong address and send to them. However no idea why they would use a smart contract address.
1415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: April 23, 2023, 04:52:11 AM
Many will say it’s greed but the largest losses for almost all traders is going to be revenge trading and we have all been there.

You know how it is. You lose a little and then went to trade until break even. Then you lose some more so you take more trades with higher positions and these trades basically make no sense in technical analysis and you are pretty  much guessing at this point and eventually you go bust. Happens to every trader.
1416  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: April 23, 2023, 04:48:35 AM
In my country, the retirement age is 65 however since everything is so expensive many people work much past that. And they even extended the retirement benefits of security from 65 till age 67 if I recall.

So this is happening everywhere and I am not surprised many other countries are doing this. Obviously seniors won’t like it because they are probably old and want to retire already but with the massive debt that these countries have they have no choice but to make these cuts.
1417  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy in recession? on: April 23, 2023, 04:45:51 AM
The more they talk about recession, the less likely it is to happen. I think recessions are a scarecrow just to take more assets out of weak hands. There will be a presidential election in the U.S. in November 2024. So it's unlikely that a recession will actually be allowed to happen. But if President Biden's administration finds a way out, it will give Biden extra points in the presidential race.

Yes I know since everybody expect a recession then there won’t be one however it seems like we will at least get a minor recession and won’t get a soft landing.

However it doesn’t mean that stocks or crypto will crash. Remember when we hit massive unemployment during Covid while the stock market hit new highs. Might be the same story since the fed might have to cut rates and lead to more money printing and it’ll cause stocks to soar higher.
1418  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina's Central Bank running out of dollars as inflation hits 100% on: April 23, 2023, 04:43:10 AM
The issue with Argentina might be with many other more developed countries. They had bad inflation before Covid but it seemed to be under control because they hiked fast. Then Covid happened and they cut rates slightly and then the inflation returned and got much much worse. And this time it got worse because it took them longer to hike.

With many countries suffering from inflation this might also become the norm. They hike too slow or they cut rate too early and there is a second wave of inflation worse than the first.
1419  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to buy one time off bitcoin. on: April 22, 2023, 07:13:21 PM
You can pretty much buy bitcoin anytime, DCA or not. The only time you shouldn't be going "all-in" is when its breaking and making new ATHs and you got celebrities and everyone pretty much talking about it. Pretty much what happened when we were at $50K last year. Everyone I knew was talking about bitcoin. You would go into an Uber and the driver was talking about how he put all his savings into it because its going to $100,000.

When that happens you shouldn't put all your money into it because it'll be the top. This is exactly what happened when we were at $69K, and same in 2017 when we were at $20K and also same in 2013 when we broke $1K. When there is an exponential move, you need to be prepared its going to be the near top and avoid investing then. Aside from that, buy bitcoin anytime.
1420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I invest 4k bitcoin on: April 21, 2023, 04:33:59 AM
So you want to basically invest $4000 of your money and expect to gain $36500 after a year. Don’t know what you heard but you can’t get rich off Bitcoin anymore.

Lately most people who invest end up losing most of their investment in scam tokens, leverage trading , NFTs or just get their crypto stolen.
