1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do meme coins have a future? on: June 09, 2023, 10:19:28 PM
I don't understand why meme coins such as Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe are so famous and why do people invest in them, wondering about the future of meme coins.
They have the good hype and a good community but with regards to their usage, its hard to tell more about their future. If they remain like that, there’s a big chance for a new meme token to rise above them. Meme token will always have a place in this market as they are hyping the project itself, and I see this as a short term investment only so don’t play long. If there’s a new meme token, early investors are the one who make a lot of money.
Good hype? I agree.
Good community? I doubt.
As you've mentioned, meme tokens have no utility. The only thing which puts value into such coins, is demand from hype and popularity which only lasts for a short period of time upon its release in the msrket or exchangers. So if it is futuristic viewpoint, nothing's assured. Most of the time, memetokens' value are only going with trend but never leads it. Most of the meme tokens has no progressive development over years therefore, it would be some sort of a gamble investing and holding it for years unlike with other cryptos which have utilities, sustaining its market price for a long period of time.
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance crisis - how will it affect the crypto market? on: June 09, 2023, 09:35:34 PM
FUD and FOMOs.
Remember how hard the market fell last time with FTX issue? Even if cases are not totally the same, people would more likely associate one another because it involves funds on the exchanger which is why it won't be surprising to see a market crash but I hope it won't be too hard that the market will have a hard time to recover. Supposedly, the market should not crash because of what happened simply because it is still an allegation. It is just people tend to react easily which causes to do so.
In my opinion, the factor that caused Binance to experience a crisis was because it was too ambitious and expanded in many countries. In my country, the Binance group also opened exchanges but it seems that there are not many users. They advertise in many media such as television, newspapers, online media and many more. Of course this costs money. marketing increases.
I disagree. Scope of accessibility of an exchanger has nothing to do with issues concerning funds, as accused to Binance and the other exchanger. In fact, it is even the reason why it became the largerst exchanger, because being more accessible makes the volume larger basically.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 09, 2023, 08:48:28 PM
Your investment would be a gamble if you don't have any plans for it. Unlike with gambling, an investor could actually manage the risk such as putting a stop loss depending on one's preference unlike in gambling wherein once you bet n mount, either you lose or win. Such concept confuses many people but they're actually different from one another. The only thing which binds these two concepts is risk of losing money especially in crypto industry wherein volatility is obvious. Proper risk management would yield to profit. Patience would also contribute to the result which I guess is another difference in comparison to gambling.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 09, 2023, 07:52:52 PM
Well, there are instances I am calculating my losses within a week or month but a year would be thru speculations. Doing the calculation for a year might stress me out so I'm avoiding it as well. Fortunately, my losses are not as big as before because I am able to manage to accept losses whenever I am playing.

So I stopped counting my losses and just minimize my betting I just tried to be happy on the thought that I have good times betting and I enjoy the thrill.

This description perfectly describes me. I'm just gambling to activate my happiness hormones. As soon as I feel that I have released some dopamine and a little adrenaline, I am happy and I quit the game. Also, I love football. I have been following European and world leagues for many years. It's a hobby for me. I like to bet to make the hobby more exciting. But I always make sure to be aware of my own limitations. I think betting is never a dangerous activity if we know our own limits. And it is always up to us to use it well.
Likewise on my end when I moved into sportsbetting in particular with basketball and boxing. I am just betting to make it more thrilling. Setting limitation should be a must to all players to avoid frustrations no matter what the outcome is. But I'd say the type of gambling game would help you to do so; one reason is the length of time you'd spend in every game. In sportsbetting, you'd consume an hour or more depending on the sports you are into which I guess allows the player gamble for less, in comparison with slots, dicegames and others.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cold or Hot Slot? on: June 09, 2023, 03:35:34 PM
I don't think that players though are going to look at RTP. I must admit that in the beginning, before I played slots on online crypto based platforms, I don't know about it.  However, even if I understand what RTP is, I just played on slot machines that I enjoyed and wanted to test. So for that is the key, just enjoy the game whether the machine is defined as high volatility.

Just remember that this is pure luck base game, so whatever the RTP is, if lady luck smile on you on your first spin then you might hit the bonus round or give you a good payout.
I agree, to some players RTP doesn't matter that much sinply because they are aware of how pure-luck games work. Either hot or cold slot, if you are unlucky, then you'd lose. I doubt there are players or is player who consistently win on slots, dice, and other pure luck games, I doubt that there's such thing. Bigger RTP won't guarantee winning 'coz we are talking about probability only.

If such timezone promotes certainty, then most of its players should be rich by now and all players would play on that certain timeframe. I'm not saying slot providers are fooling people on their data but there's one thing players are not seeing; there are timeframes wherein rewards are often given to the gamblers by playing but not with the ratio of those who win and who lose. So I guess things are just the same to both classification/category.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Apple Vision Pro and its Implication in Online Gambling on: June 09, 2023, 03:07:51 PM
Things are still virtual but with a different perspective. It'll give enjoyment indeed to the gamblers but would it be an added risk to gambling addiction? If by gambling engagement I think it would do so, first of all the more a players enjoys what he's doing, it would push him to play for a longer period of time. But with regards on betting more and losing more, that depends on the player. A change with gambling experience won't guarantee an increase to betting amount, I guess, the player will just enjoy it more. However, if it is just "true gambling experience" they are seeking of, why do they just go to a landbased one? Convenience? I doubt.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 02:35:30 PM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.
Acceptance.
Accept that you'd more often lose than win; that's what gambling is even if odds are 50:50. Such mindset will help you to not be wrecked because of losing an amount. It is more of mentally preparing oneself of the worse case scenario. Ofcourse it won't be easy. It is money we are talking to or money which is not easily earned. You've worked hard for it and being sad from losing it is a normal response. As I've said, learning how to accept things would set you free. No regrets should be felt 'coz if you win, things would be different on how you would respond or feel. As a gambler you just grabbed the chance of winning and making your money bigger. Unfortunately, there's no certainty with gambling.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 01:53:42 PM
Most of us for sure experienced such instance. We will always have a tendency to swear and avoid gambling probably due to losses, but will end up playing the next day. One reason is boredom especially if gambling is a part of your daily routine; you're used up to it. Another is frustration for your losses and it pushes you to get back with it. Last I guess is to enjoy things more; perhaps in sportsbetting wherein it is more thrilling to watch a game if you have bet in it. As long as you still function normally on a daily basis and if you are not struggling financially, I think you are managing things well as a gambler.
1409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin's comeback on: June 08, 2023, 11:47:40 PM
Litecoin has the potential to have a higher market price and is not a coin to be considered dead. It is one of the early and biggest coins in this industry. But if it is surpassing the market value of Bitcoin, I highly doubt of it. In every uptrend, Bitcoin is leading the way and other coins are just following.
Litecoin is dead. What makes you think if litecoin will able to surpass bitcoin? I meant it has no further development anymore. Litecoin is still exist caused by bitcoin. it's done man for litecoin even in another thread many people talking about litecoin halving and it means nothing.

It will not give impact to the price of litecoin.
As long as a coin is having volume, then that means it is still alive and there's still a possibility for its market price to go up. Its development on the other hand is the reason why its market value won't or struggling to multiply as much as others but an increase in the market value is the minimum. Check its chart and you'll see. Since it is one of the biggest, I guess its will also be able to recover on the next bullrun.
1410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to Hodl or buy the Dip? on: June 08, 2023, 11:30:51 PM
As we all know, there are expectations for a lower market price around $20k-ish, so I guess it is better to wait. The market value won't go up in a single snap so avoid FOMO. Actually, there's no perfect entry point it just depends on the investor if he'd be satisfied to where would he invest. With regards to either holding or buying, that depends on your capability. If you have the capacity to invest more then wait for another possible dip, and invest again. But if you're already okay with the amount you are holding, then just prepare yourself from the possibility of a market crash, such that if it happen, practice to not panic and avoid selling 'coz prices would again go up and you just have to be patient by that time.
1411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do, should do, or not do as Bitcoin supporters at this time? on: June 08, 2023, 10:15:12 PM
We can be patient whenever the market price of Bitcoin is falling. Most of us are either thrilled or worried during a crash because it is an opportunity to invest more at a huge discount. Being patient on waiting for the right entry point would more likely yield to profit.
We should be calm even if there are possible FUDs especialy recently, again regarding exchanges, to avoid panic and FOMOs. May people sold their holdings recently because of what they have heard about Binance being sued. They might had such response in fear of FTX issue before and this should be stopped.
And we should not be encouraging people in this industry for the purpose of profit. This is a common mistake wherein non-investors are having huge expectations that profit would be easily earned, but it is totally not.
1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin can't be rubbed on: June 08, 2023, 04:09:08 PM
The guy who did this is ignorant of how Bitcoin works, they thought it was a fiat-like machine where you can extract paper cash, and they thought that it works like all the other ATM, this is one of the funniest jokes about Bitcoin.
I'm sure those who did this are thinking why there is no cash on that ATM.
Exactly. "Ignorant is a disease" how on Earth someone planned to steal bitcoin in bitcoin ATM. The person is a serious illiterate in the universe. The robbers supposed know that bitcoin is a digital currency which can not be seen. Well I didn't blame them because they have not gotten the orientation from others and they are not ready learn from others but only interested to rob. This is a real joke.
Not all robbers are knowledgeable of technology and this currency in the first place but attempt is an attempt. Indeed bitcoin cannot be stolen in an ATM but it can be accessed through your device if the bad person knows how to. Crypto assets can be robbed, and to be precised, stolen. Therefore, investors still should be cautious of their actions to avoid such tendencies to occur. Keep this in mind; if you can access it then there would always be a way for others to do so especially if you will give them an idea or if you would be negligent of it. Bad persons are becoming more eager to do things so never be too confident.
1413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are a lot of scams on Twitter, and illegal links steal your assets. on: June 08, 2023, 03:33:33 PM
Eversince, such scheme has been existing in this indusstry and even outside. People keep faalling for suspiscious links with desire of earning free money by jist clicking. First of all, there's no such thing. We are all tired of hearing stories on how they became a vicitim wherein they're the ones who pushed through. This will continue as long as there are people being unrealistic of how investments should be done.
A few days ago, I saw a KOL with a large number of fans on Twitter. He was recommending a project recommended by many KOLs. As long as he followed his guidelines, he could get more airdrop tokens. As a result, when I clicked on the link, connect When my little fox wallet is signed and confirmed, my assets will be reset to zero. I checked the data on the chain, and in a short period of time, he actually defrauded more than 20,000 US dollars in digital currency, which is terrible.
Don't trust anyone and don't connect your wallet easily (especially if you have funds in it) just because you want to get some airdrop tokens. If this KOL is posting links to scam others, there's also a chance the account is hacked and was used by scammers to attract the people.

Hence, don't easily bite what they're offering and always take time to verify if it's reliable. Scammers are everywhere so if you don't want to end up becoming a victim then DYOR and don't be easily attracted in airdrops.
From being in years in this industry but not to brag, I haven't had any experience falling for untrusted websites. It is not because i'm smart or what not but because I am learning from others who made the mistake. Also with the idea that if by clicking I'd eaarn, why are not all people in this industry rich?
1414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: June 08, 2023, 03:01:25 PM
Indeed, but I think it would go with another correction before such thing happen and that is probably around $23k or less. If we would base in chart, the graph shows bullish pattern still and cme gaps are still not field under the current price and as we all know, its price will be needing to fill it first before having a continuous increase.

especially in a bear market all bad news is very sensitive, it can be seen that Bitcoin has fallen from $ 30k to $ 25k ,
yes -$5k in just a short time.

Yes very few people will expect that bitcoin will increase in price now that two major exchanges are being under litigation by sec. It is expected that panic will further force price down than it will go up. The dropping is going to gradually happen maybe until it dropped to a major support like $20,000 before DCA investors and other random investors starts coming in again after building confidence. I think $20k / $21k is a major support for now.

Also with issues as you've mentioned. Well, supposedly iy should not have a direct effect towards crypto market prices 'coz those are only issues which are being sued towards those exchanges. It happened that such news triggered panic to some investors, resulting to a slight dump yesterday. I also agree with the said support. It is still too early I guess but we'd be on our way for sure.
1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin terminologies and their challenges for newbies. on: June 08, 2023, 12:50:44 PM
Familiarity.
Such struggle exists in every field not only in this industry. Ofcourse you are a new one which means you are still unfamiliar with terminologies which are not being used on a daily basis. But on the other hand, sources of information is everywhere. Once you encounter aanything you're not familiar with, try to atleast search for its definition in order to not be shocked once you again encounter that particular thing or word.
I remember when I first dived into the world of Bitcoin, it felt like deciphering ancient hieroglyphics. But hey, it's all part of the crypto journey. Soon you'll be dropping terms like 'hash rate' and 'smart contracts' like a pro!

Literally plus the my first impression is there's a lot of numbers that makes me confused. Having no background is like you're a toddler in this industry that's why when you grow up it takes time for you to attain some knowledge. Because you wouldn't master this in just a short time you have to be familiarize and be knowledageable in different things in Bitcoin. But trust me when you understand everything is just easy.
Indeed, things won't be learned in an instant and it will take time. It is not a bad thing to not know something right after the first glance. It will be a bad thing if you will still be unfamiliar of something even if you are being exposed into it for a period of time 'coz that would mean you are not doing your part as a learner.
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which campaign is better? Bounty campaign or Signature campaign? on: June 07, 2023, 11:56:36 PM
If it is to promote the project, eitherway is fine. But if it is the way to reward the participants and for the project itself, I think signature campaigns (pays in btc) would be better. One reason is what happened before. There were many bounty campaigns paying rewards in form of the project token. Profit is way bigger than with signatures, but it has something to do with long term progress of a project. The moment bounty hunters recieved their rewards, they tend to sell it immediately which causes a huge dump with the token's market value, affecting long term potential of the project.

And for participants' end, I think signature is still better in a way that it has a fixed reward in btc. Indeed bounties will give you instances of way big  rewards but there'll also be times you'd be recieving small from a 3-month work.
1417  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: June 07, 2023, 11:33:49 PM
One of the major reasons why bitcoin Enthusiasts hold bitcoin is in anticipation of a price increase that would increase the value of their asset. However, holding your bitcoin requires a patience mixed with strong will. It is the patience to be patient for a long period of time until the price makes a 10%, 20% and so on increase. Strong will not to use it to solve some immediate problem and risk a reduction in your asset. Consequently, not everyone one can wait that is why some decide to learn bitcoin trading so that they can make some quick profit that would also increase their asset holding. Some other become bitcoin lenders. Yes, they use either a centralized or decentralized platform to lend their bitcoin which would be repaid with interest. What is your honest take on bitcoin lending? Too risky, won't try it? Too risky, will give it a try?
Eitherway is good but depends on what type of an investor you are. Problem with lending your bitcoin is whether it would really be trustworthy or not. It will always give you worries of not being paid, right? 'coz anything could happen. Unlike with just investing and holding wherein no other person or company would be able to make use of your asset and even if it would require you to hold for a long period of time. So maybe, to determine which would be a better way to earn profit, depends on risk tolerance of the investor. Everything has its own risk and as an investor your task is to minimize it as much as possible.
1418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll management discussion on: June 07, 2023, 11:07:44 PM
On my end, I am using 5 to 10% in every bet when I feel like being aggressive or if I am javing a gut feeling that I would be winning. If such amount is not advidablr to othet players, don't worry, 'coz everytime I used all of my alloted money in gambling and to each day, I can manage to stop and do other things for entertainment, and I think this is more important. Some players can manage betting small but gives them the odd feeling of not being satisfied and ending up forcing to win until they have lost too much to the extend wherein frustration would be present. Ofcourse it would be better to prolong yoyr betting chances through small bets but that depends on your satisfaction with returns, as a gambler.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 07, 2023, 10:12:23 PM
If you have lost that much, more likely you would encounter such feeling, and that is normal. What's not is to comeback playing the moment you regret, 'coz that would be frustration. As we all believed, we should onlu invest or gamble an amount we can afford losing. That's a given ideaa, but in reality most of the gamblers cannot really afforf losing any amount. Like, who would be? We all gambled with an expection of getting something bigger in return. Those who has wealth are the only ones who are just playing for fun 'coz if they lose, it won't be that much fot them. All emotions are vlid just don't sit or stand by on negative emotions.
1420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deciding to save money in Bitcoins for the future of the child on: June 07, 2023, 03:41:48 PM
Would be a wise move if we have the assurance that nothing bad will happen in this industry, in the future. This technology runs in blockchain and there are even restrictions regarding its usage to some countries which should already impose a risk from storing huge value with a futuristic purpose. If it is security you are looking for, then engage with bank savings or properties. Still has risks buy for sure lower. Bitcoin indeed is a profitable investment, we all know that but if it is for the future of your child, would you be too confident of it?
When it comes to hyperinflation, you can't trust banks with your money, not because they might go bankrupt, but mainly because the value of your money will significantly drop due to the crisis. As a crypto investor, I agree with your decision to convert your money to Bitcoin and save it for your future. Bitcoin has shown positive growth when looking at the big picture. I know some experts would argue that putting your money in Bitcoin is too risky, but isn't hyperinflation even riskier as it affects everyone?
Both has risks. It is a good thing to invest in Bitcoin for long term but to put everything into it won't be advisable. Always manage the risk right?
