961  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: September 11, 2023, 04:00:29 PM
I'd say yes; there will always be bigger competitors in any field wherein manipulation happen especially with things wherein demand is a factor to consider. This is more visible with sales industry and fields of investment. But if the question is whether it is a fair thing or not, then I'd say fair still. Big investors just have the power to manipulate and they just make use of that capability. They won't adjust to small investors simply because you are all competitors.

Manipulation exists everywhere, especially in the economy or business.  Manipulation is inextricably linked with business. In every sector, those who are big in terms of authority try to manipulate the system.  Market manipulation is done by those who will benefit from it.  I think cryptocurrency is not out of the question.  Besides, there are big whales to manipulate the market from time to time.  But I think even if you manipulate the market it will go back to its own pace later it may be only for short time.
This is true, manipulation can happen anywhere and have different effects. Market manipulation, for example, can have a good effect on others but can also have a negative effect on some. Moreover, market manipulation can be big or small depending on how much changes it may cause. And yes, cryptocurrency can be manipulated in some ways as well.
Yes cryptocurrency is really prone to market manipulation simply because there are "whales" who could trigger big "waves" in market prices. It would be a disadvantage if you'd choose to go against their manipulation but could be an advantage if you'd go along with it.
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 11, 2023, 03:04:47 PM
Rule is simple; you won't be hacked if you won't give them the slightest chance to have access into your investments. If it is that important then you should take extra precautionary measures on it. If you are using hardware wallets then put it into a safe place as well as its private keys. If you are using online wallets, then avoid engaging to sites which are sketchy or unsecured. And with your device, avoid downloading things from the internet which might contain malwares. These are common solutions but it saved me from the risk of getting hacked for years of being in this industry. I never want to blame rhe victims but if you don't want to experience such problem, then start it with yourself.

For sure you'd get the same response with people who are here for years as well.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: September 11, 2023, 02:22:21 PM
as of now, I only have BNB to hold. although there is quite a lot of FUD being spread, and I am trying to brush it all aside and focus on collecting it little by little until the bull market arrives, and hope that the BNB price will rise high. Apart from that, I plan to put ETH back in my portfolio, but maybe I will focus on collecting it when my BNB has reached a certain amount
BNB is a good choice by the way and also, issues in particular with exchanges are long being disregard given that Binance has proven its credibility to users.

On my end, I am hitting with XRP, BCH, and other major coins 'coz for me these coins performed well with the previous bullrun which for me a valid reason although it does not promote assurance. But major coins are simply ones having large market cap and blockchains which definitely woupd sustain demand for a long period of time unlike with new coins which are pumping and dumping in an instant. Also, with memecoins which are considered by other investors.
964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 11, 2023, 01:35:28 PM
I prefer real state. i mean its real and its aged old legit and most proved business and it will be most profitable business in the future too.
just because of the word stands on it? REAL? Grin Grin

i don't know real estate so i chose crypto specially bitcoin mate.

or better to invest in both ? half / half? or 30/70 depend on your trust  .
He really took it literally. But yes, most of the real estate investments are tangible unlike with this industry. I'd also agree that it has a better security (Imagine this industry being restricted by governments for their own reason). Which one is better? That would depend on you as an investor; we all have our own preferences whether to a higher risk with high chances for returns or the other way around.  Volatility, principle of demand and supply; these are things we should know as bare minimum before our actual engagement. As with preferences asking between the two will just give you subjective opinions on which they are currently into with. The decision is on you when choosing an investment and I hope you'd prepare and gain knowledge first to avoid losing all of it in an instant.
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My first sell with cypto after some months of introducing crypto as a payment on: September 09, 2023, 07:41:34 PM
Recently, a customer made a purchase with USDT.
When you say that you accept BTC as a medium of exchange for your trades, I think that this will result in higher prices for your customers than they should. Likewise with Bitcoin's volatility. I want to explain that but when you say that you have done transactions with USDT, I think that is the right thing that you did. In the future, if you want to transact with crypto, I suggest you use stable coins such as USDT or USDC. It's more profitable for you and your customers.
Indeed, we cannot jist force things out. As much as we want Bitcoin to be used as a mode of payment, that seems can't be especially with its current 'state'. Fees are still high and market price is still volatile and these factors would make you hesitate to do so, and that's just normal. For now stablecoins would be better with daily transactions if circumstances won't prohibit you in your area. Bitcoin and orher decentralized cryptos are being used with huge transactions 'coz in such way, paying extra would be fine in exchange for anonymity and avoidance with taxes. Many people are aware of this industry already but not everyone would be too eager to face losses and some disadvantages in exchange for vision for this industry. It will all take time so let us be patient.
966  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 09, 2023, 05:40:42 PM
More as well as a not a single night journey. It'll be a long way establishing wealth. Indeed you could be lucky as proven by people who won lotteries but if we think of it, not all people who have huge amount of wealth also won from lotteries. Given that not all of us would be lucky enough then what's our choice? It would be better to start walking until you meet that luvk and opportunity than to wait for things to happen on its own. It would be a win-win situation: starting on your own would put you to a place farther than where you came from and if luck would take place then it would be a better outcome and if luck won't happen atleast you already have your own progress.

Problem is people who solely depend on luck in order to achieve better things in life. They often disregard the amount of time they are wasting until something which has no assurance on its occurence, happen.
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Bitcoin ideas on: September 09, 2023, 04:54:50 PM

This brought me into thinking how do we make people understand Bitcoin properly in order to prevent them from being scammed and end up disliking the crypto space. Is introducing them into Bitcoin talk enough ? If no what else more can we do easily to make them actually get the idea of Bitcoin.
Help them have the right mindset. What pulls them towards fraud and profit loss is their impression of Bitcoin as an investment; easy and instant profit. They're only seeing how huge the profit was earned from the previous pumps but not the risk endured due to sudden price changes and wrong entry and exit points. Investment is simple; invest at the right price and sell it for a higher price. But why do people still lose money not only in this industry? 'coz of lack in planning and right execution of actions. It is easy to tell the good sides or advantages of Bitcoin but it would be difficult doing the right things because of circumstances and different vision towards this technology.

Some are expecting instant profit and once they encounter a loss, panic will take place and will eventually push them to sell early. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones we often forgot in this field of investment.
968  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 08, 2023, 07:22:21 PM
Most of us are affected for sure it is just salary varies in each country which lessen and strengthen how we would be affected by it.
You know it’s odd to see basic necessities if they have been decreasing their prices, surely their prices are bound to increase especially that inflation may be here for good. And food prices are certainly the most concern of the citizens today most particularly in my country where rice price has been extremely rising so bad. Good thing news came out lately that our head of the country has ordered a minimum price set for well-milled rice. Hopefully this will not be the last price adjustment for our food price.

I really hope that there will be more price adjustments. There is already food shortage to deal with, with the price of necessities going up I don't know how below minimum wage workers will be able to survive. I work an above minimum wage job but I still struggle to keep up with my budget and is barely saving any for my future and for investments. Hopefully, if more price adjustments happen we can all find a way to adjust and make most of our income.
I though I was the only one thibking that the number of population has something to do with the increase in marketable goods. There is now a shortage with resources simply because population keeps on growing, not to mention capitalism, corruption, and regulations in world trade industry, which adds with the burden. Agricultural resources may indeed be supported to lower the ceiling of our daily needs but problem is with regulation; both producers and consumers are struggling which is an obvioys proof that there is something wrong happening especially with third world countries.
969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank vs Crypto: Are they opposites? on: September 08, 2023, 06:36:20 PM
Not totally, but has different characteristics; govenment acknowledgement, decentralization, security, volatility, and more. Both are financial systems (individual vs institutional).
Banks and cryptocurrencies will be used together, central banks and banks or generally governments won't be able to stop it. People have their voice and power so governments can not prohibit their citizens to use cryptocurrencies in all nations globally. Simply, they can not do it in nations where power is not centralized in dictators and dictatorship.

Banks will follow central banks that are going to create more CBDCs that will be used by citizens. Citizens have other options, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and if they feel unsafe with CBDCs or any cryptocurrency deployed by banks, they will choose Bitcoin.

CBDC tracker with information about CBDC developments globally.

With my firm conviction, I believe in the coexistence and development of both.  But saying that the government cannot ban us from using bitcoin is not entirely correct, they are still the ones who make all the decisions. If we really have a voice and power, why can't anyone fight for bitcoin to become a currency? Meanwhile, the government only accepts bitcoin as a commodity and they will never allow bitcoin to become a currency and we will have no right to demand that from them. CBDC will be what they force us to use and we do not have the right to choose bitcoin as an alternative payment method to CBDC.
They clearly have the power to do so as evident with countries such as China. Governments want to regulate this industry which would be difficult given its nature. The only way possible is thru third party wallets and system but it would make a huge difference if ever things would be totally regulated. Interest towards this industry might negatively change simply because the concept itself will be changed. I do hope that co-existence to happen than with full restriction.
970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. on: September 08, 2023, 05:47:46 PM
If you could go there to the speculations board to see how people were giving their own various opinions about bitcoin market sentiment for the next coming months and how there's a very vital achievement investing now on bitcoin that it's dip, such period like this could doubtlessly renders us opportunity for the investment we made before the market begins to rise back as always expected, very soon i know that we are getting closer to $68,000 before we landed at another all time high after halving next year, this will make us to understand more that we are still on dip till this present moment.
Waiting for its actual bottom is a punch to the moon. Once there is a huge volume, the price gets more volatile to both pump and dump. Catching the "tail'" of the price action will never be advisable 'coz it could push through. Much better to pick a price wherein you would be able to endure both upward and downward motion. In such way you won't also worry that you'd miss your desired market price.

Indeed, right now there's a mix of speculations. Some are saying that its market value would fall down 'til $20k but what if it don't? For me entering at $24k-25k would be fair enough for long term hold until bullrun occurs.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new projects. on: September 08, 2023, 05:17:54 PM
anyone here heard about the DingDang Bubble project it is upcoming meme coin i read this project and it looks interesting because they are offering utilities that no other meme coin have also the project and team looks solid and most of the utilities they claim will be live before launch but still i am afraid of losing money because i already lost too much so can some experts read this project and give me a suggestion should i have to ape in this project or not because i missed pepe shiba doge many solid meme coins but i have good feeling against this project. I also share website and whitepaper links
Website: https://dingdang.io/
Whitepaper: https://dingdang.io/whitepaper.pdf
FOMO?
Memecoins are still in hype because of what happened with pepe but not all memetoken will guarantee profit from investing into it. I also never heard of this but if its utility is true, then this could be a huge one. Check on the team behind it to atleast lessen the risk, and also wait for others who may have idea on this project. But if it is frustration with other meme projects which pushes you towards this one  then it won't be a good reason to do so. However, if this project will be funded and recognized by huge teams in this industry, then it would be worthy of investing. Don't rush and wait for others' opinion as well before engaging into this. It is already a good thing that you'e asked in this forum.
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 07, 2023, 07:08:50 PM
I think this has something to do with mutualism of interest and culture. Not all countries are having place for horses which makes sense that it will have limited popularity. This is the same as with cockfighting and other gambling games which has an origin. The fact that most of us are familiar with traditional gambling games, then it would make sense for such games to have more players. Also with interest itself; we cannot control other players to play games we are playing 'coz we have different preferences. Some are into what's usual and some are not. For sure there are other gambling games which has a country of origin and are not recognized by us 'coz we have different culture and tradition in the first place.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 07, 2023, 06:42:45 PM
Controlling your emotions would work wonders if you bet on sports mostly but it won't do any good when you play a dice based game like dice. Let's say your favorite team's striker won't be playing in the next game, this should give you a major red flag but if you can't control your emotions you will bet on the victory of your favorite team ignoring these major red flags. Obviously, the chances of losing that bet is very high. When there is the unavoidable data and facts, we can't and shouldn't ignore them facts. We should follow the same logic when making trades too.
Actually  it would also work with other gambling games such as dice. Imagine losing consistently, if you will let your emotions take over your losses, then for sure you'd force winning to cope up with your losses. Emotion is powerful especially to something which creates drive; in this case money. We are all driven to earn more and once that goal is not being fulfilled expect that it would affect your emotions and actions. That is where frustration would take place. Frustration on the other hand is a drive which would make you do things just to achieve aa goal. You would even borrow an amount and gamble it if things get worse. Emotions are a normal drive we would feel often while gambling.
974  Economy / Gambling / Re: Tell me one legit site with esports and sports markets on: September 07, 2023, 05:42:25 PM
Legit sites:
- Sportsbet.io
- Fairlay(Betting exchange)
- Pinnacle(KYC mandatory)

Scam sites:
- 1xbit
- 1xbet

Overall, you clearly need to do more research op if you aren't a shill of those shady scam sites that I listed above.
There's a lot to recommend and suggest but it won't mean nothing if OP won't try it for himself. Many of us could be biased with our suggestion; some would base on their experience and ofcourse some woul be with affiliation (not a bad thing, and is normal as well). There are many reputable platforms if it is sports betting and bookies but to experience it for yourself would create the impression whether a particular site will suit your gambling habits. But ofcourse engaging to big names would be a good start if it is higher assurance you aare looking for. But as I said, it would still be better to try some and see it for ourselves.
975  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: September 07, 2023, 04:51:24 PM
/// but also an obvious attempt of trying to justify something that they should not be doing.

It's true that what is wrong should not be justified or distorted. I am not a Muslim, but I believe that the teachings from the church and the Bible have specific meanings and should not be interpreted differently. Not everyone is highly educated, which is why a straightforward interpretation can be easily understood. What would happen if actions that were originally declared as sins were justified as 'okay'? 'Okay' can be subjective and may not always align with what is right or wrong. I think there should be clear distinctions between right and wrong.

Very well said mate. The fact is that there are many people who portrays certain quotes from their religion and convey it's meaning in a different form.
They completely change the actual meaning behind the context of the quote and interpret wrong information for their own benefits.
As mentioned in the video in OP, one sin shouldn't be the gateway to other sins. People should educate themselves and understand what their religion truly convey.
Each religion has it's own beauty and beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
Religion and personal beliefs should be separrated from this activity. Most of the people here in this industry belongs to a religion and culture but why are we still here if the concept itself of gambling is in contrast with the teachings of a religion? Simply because we are not linking these two concepts and which is why words associated to a religion should not also be mentioned in any way especially for personal gain 'coz you are simply fooling yourself and making fun of other's tradition and culture. Let gambling be gambling, that's it and no other colors of polictics and religious beliefs.

For sure few people would only fall in this scheme. Also, they should be sensitive enough to know it in a single glance. Let us not make the inage of this industry worse.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 06, 2023, 05:57:46 PM
Although, after saying that, that also means that we're truly underestimating Tapales here because we're already assuming that by then Inoue is still the champion and that Tapaes was just a mere ladder to achieve Inoue's target.

Underestimating might not be the best word to describe the majority take on this fight. We are just looking at the closest possible thing to happen.

Don't get me wrong, even though I'm with Tapales to win the fight, it's still tough for me to think how can he even make an upset against Inoue. The Japanese monster is ahead of everything compared to Tapales. We can't compare Naoya Inoue to Murodjon Akhmadaliev, the one that Tapales upset why he became a champion. We can't also compare this to starting Pacquiao when he was chosen as a replacement to fight Marco Antonio Barrera. Back then, Pacquiao was already showing potential. About Tapales, he just started to become special because of the upset win and becoming a champion.

Tapales has a low chance of beating Inoue but since he's my fellow countrymen, I will put a bet on him to show support.

Unethical move by me? No, it's just that low chance still has a chance.

That last point on your statement is true, small chance still a chance and even by stats Tapales is by far from Inoue we can't conclude
it yet if a lucky punch will give him the win.

Though we are hi-jacking the topic, it's good to see if Tapales will do everything and bring his name up, whether he loses or he makes an
upset, it will be interesting to see his progress and his fighting dedications.

Let see if what will be the turn of events for both Tapales and Casimero who will going to have their respective fights.

He may have a very slim chance in this fight but that is certainly not a reason for him to give up early because we never know, upset can happen anytime and thinking that it's somehow possible, there's still a chance as long as he will give his very best to show the world that he wasn't just lucky on why he became a champion as he sure do worked hard for it. For me, I don't care anymore whether if he loses or not. What's more important is that he will make the Filipino's proud because he is the first Filipino boxer who will fight for the undisputed level, a feat that Pacquiao could've achieved but this is Tapales now and he is the one who made it first.
Anything is possible inside the box and things might get off of hand if the favored would be too confident because of his edge over the opponent. As others have mentioned  this won't be a title match, and with that preparations won't be as intense as with casimero's usual. Casimero is more dominant with power in this match up also with experience. Oguni on the other hand would be a more eager fighter for the limelight. He has a 'quiet' name on his division and for sure he knows the benefit to his career if he would win this match. This should be an enough reason for casimero to be careful and to not let his guard down. But I guess I won't bet on this one.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes the win is right in front of us-little tip to sport bettors on: September 06, 2023, 05:21:21 PM
Well this is pretty much like this thread Do star players affect the odds of a match bet?

Of course the team with star players will increase the probability to win, but the odds will decrease since they're become favorite team. I don't think the team is still an underdog when they have star players, Al Nassr is one of the example. After Ronaldo joined this team, mostly Al Nassr become a favorite team.
It is like betting against or along the odds. I agree, teams with a more famous players are the ones expected to win a game and that's a normal assumption; players won't be popular in the first place without a reason. But on the same reason, odds won't be as big as you would want it to and that reflects on the profit you are about to earn from betting into that particular match. However, as we all know, these stats won't guarantee a winning bet simply because anything could still happen during the game. We saw underdogs beating favored teams in different sports already which is why betting on them would still have risks.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fan of casino reviews online? This is a must-read on: September 06, 2023, 04:48:15 PM
These rating platforms have different parameters used in measuring the performance of casinos. It is key to check these benchmark to know if it suits your standard. It will also be a mistake to rely on a single rating by platform to evaluate the reputation of a casino, we should always check other rating platforms. Most reviews are arranged to suit some casinos. Some review websites are secretly owned or financed by these casinos so you don't expect them to publish a negative review. In most cases only reviews that favors the casino is publicized. I don't trust any of them which is why doing research is cardinal.
I agree with the part about using different sites to check the ratings and reviews of casinos but it's still better to rely on a single rating if they're known for their casino reviews over the others filled with nothing but paid reviews.

I also take reviews with a grain of salt because i've seen others rate other casinos lower when they're almost the same as the good casinos. You can't always be sure about some of them, and it encouraged me to start looking for other available reviews.
My way of checking whether a gambling site is good or not is to ask for players in that platform (if there is a community outside or inside the site) or to check it for myself with minimal amount of deposit for checking. I know reviees can be easily done by the platform itself which is part of its marketing strategy which for me it is not a a good way to check for a site's credibility especially in this industry. But it works for landbased casinos, as far as I know. Problem only is that, a platform will only be considered as faulty or a scam once things already occur and once majority of players are affected by it. Which also makes it hard to determine at first glance.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your perception about crypto games? on: September 06, 2023, 04:12:43 PM
Were there certain games that you've observed that don't have a good performance since you mentioned the bull run and how it looked like during that time? Please specify as well if these "crypto games" you're saying are the actual ones that we get from the casinos.

There's the confusing terms that we're using on this space that when you say that, you can possibly talking about the NFT or games that allows you to earn crypto or tokens and the same goes for these gambling games. The perception that you might have been asking varies on person to person based on what it is but to prolong the discussion, you just need to discuss and clarify some things.
I am not by any means trying to advertise any these but for the sake of clarity to the discuss. Here's a link to the crypto games am asking  https://dappradar.com/tag/play-to-earn?gclid=Cj0KCQjwgNanBhDUARIsAAeIcAts-Xvi1wiZkpPs0kENByxgj5oQkaHB69EinhmXwpX6thewvaq-0UEaArkQEALw_wcB
Many of us are confused of what you are trying to point out. A gambling game which is dependent with bullrun? Others have guessed it right, it is more likely Play to earn games wherein tokens are the main prize in which value increases as well. Not quite familiar with the game you are talking about but I have tried playing some p2e games last year so I kinda get your point.

On my end, I think I'd pass with such concept. One reason is bigger risk. If it is a gambling p2e game, you will have to deal with the risk of losing in game and risk of losing whenever the market price is falling. But since bullrun is mentioned, still a no. There's no guarantee that all coins would have a high price during bullrun, what's assured is majority. So what if it don't?
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will you feel if it happens to you just like this? on: September 05, 2023, 07:05:43 PM
I'd probably just accept the circumstances and make up for it, if ever such thing ever happen again. We sometimes have the feeling of a 'winning bet' and most of the time  these are when we cannot afford losing an amount. For me it is frustration which gives us feelings of regret. But in reality, if you are really sure of it  then you'd make a way right? Then why you did not? 'coz you know how things work in gambling; risk. You are only having a strong feeling but never the guarantee of a winning bet which also scares you. Your frustration would only become bigger once the game is settled and it happened to be a winning guess  but what if the other way around happened? Would you be having the same feeling? Obviously not.
