There's a single download, but the downloaded packages comes with all translations preinstalled. It will ask you which language you want as soon as you try to install it. And you can change it later in Preferences.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's the safest way to store BTC? on: January 22, 2014, 05:44:26 PM
Be Sure to use only 20 % or less of All Your BTC online for daily use ..and the safest way for the rest is to order secure USB Flash or HDD and you have to mix the encrypted wallet.dat with picture or other data after you changed to the same ext as other files like wallet.data=mama.jpg ... and you must have more than that copy in different USB ..

But i am asking how about storing mama.jpg inside online drive like Gmail or other and mix it up with almost 2000 picture how about that?
That would be similar to using a password, in the sense that you need to remember the name of the file, or else it will be essentially lost. I don't see a real benefit there.
1404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is 42 *really* gonna be worth 500,000 someday? on: January 21, 2014, 08:13:10 PM
ballsy prediction, but 21,000,000 divided by 42 = 500000  Shocked

I got a better scheme! Listen up

1. Make the POINT1 Coin. There will be a total of only 0.1 P1C
2. 21,000,000/0.1 = 210 million
3. ?? ??
4. Profit

I know this is sarcasm, but anyway.

You can't say that a coin is worth 210 million (or any other value), if 1 full coin doesn't even exist. It's like if I said that the gold planet is worth a quadrillion dollars if such planet doesn't exist.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's the safest way to store BTC? on: January 21, 2014, 04:12:40 AM
Giving time and the right genius hacker even the most sophisticated security measures can be hacked.
(emphasis mine)
People say things like this without fully knowing what they are talking about. I had one friend that told me that SHA256 was proven to have weaknesses and that somebody very smart could crack it in minutes. Well, if that's the case, then why has no one heard about such an attack? (And I'm not talking just about Bitcoin, but about any system that uses SHA256 in one way or another).

The algorithm has been proven to be very secure, and so it would take decades (if not more) for someone to even think about a real, useful way to crack it (because you just can't brute force it even with quantum computers without wasting hundreds or thousands of years).

And if suddenly someone discovers an unknown vulnerability, it won't get unnoticed for very long, and there will be news all over the world about a system hacked in such a way.

So, no. Although your statement is technically correct, it's not going to happen any time soon.

Me perdí. ¿A qué te refieres con “cintura para arriba” y “cintura para abajo”? ¿Cuáles son los significados de estas dos palabras?
1407  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcola idea? on: January 18, 2014, 05:17:12 AM
How about making sodas with different prizes? Like real Coca-Cola or Pepsi campaigns, where 1 in 1000 (or more, I don't know) get a bigger prize. And maybe add one (just one) with a 10 BTC prize.
1408  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time For Us To Knock It Off! on: January 18, 2014, 05:11:29 AM
Yes, but what LostDutchman is saying is that we still convert (in our minds) to USD or EUR to give BTC prices. This is because Bitcoin's value has changed very quickly and we as humans can't cope with such unstability.

Well, you and I are almost on the same page!

The problem with crypto is that it cannot be used at 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999% of the merchants or services on the planet so it must be converted to something that is.

I am not seeking to change the World, I am not trying to bring crypto to the masses; I am only and I repeat ONLY trying to make money!

[...]

Regardless of what anyone says, it is really ALL about the money and by "money" I mean dollars, dinars, drachmas, rubles, rupees or pounds fucking sterling.

UNIVERSALLY SPENDABLE STUFF!

My $.02.

Wink

And that almost is where we diverge. I know that currently Bitcoin cannot be used on its own, but I firmly believe that as the system matures and more and more people get to know it, it will become stable and thus will be usable everywhere in the world, and without having to check USD/BTC price every 5 minutes.

I don't seek to change by BTC back into Mexican Pesos, but rather to spend them directly.

I think he means if the flash drive is stolen, the thief instantly has both the password and password wallet.
It seems a bit extreme considering if it gets stolen, who would know about bitcoins, Just store some porn in there, and mix the wallet with the porn, and hide it god around your house simple as that Huh
Yes, but what if someone steals it knowing there are bitcoins in there? I think everyone should take precautions even if most people don't know about Bitcoin (yet).
1410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What's the safest way to store BTC? on: January 17, 2014, 09:53:55 PM
Crazy idea, what if I just store it on a microSD and wrap it in thin silicone sheet. Then, cut a small incision on my skin and shove the SD underneath the skin... (Got this idea after watching Con Air)
It's not as simple as that. The SD could move and get stuck under your skin so you couldn't retrieve it (unless of course if you do another incision, but that's too much harm, at least for me).
1411  Other / MultiBit / Re: How often do you have to backup multibit wallet? on: January 17, 2014, 04:35:02 PM
Yes, but it's not recommended to use only one address (for security reasons, so that people can't easily trace your transactions). It's common to create a new address for every new transaction.

1413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 problems with Bitcoin on: January 16, 2014, 05:35:17 PM
If someone produces a loaf of bread, the INTRINSIC value of that loaf of bread is the exactly cost to produce that loaf of bread. But since the baker needs to produce profits to stay in business and feed himself (and perhaps his family) with more than a loaf of bread, he adds value at the moment he sells that loaf of bread in the market (and thus the reason the government tax over the added value - a.k.a. VAT). So when the customers gossip with each other about how much they paid the baker ("OMG, I paid ... for a loaf of bread, can you believe?"), they refer to the MARKET value of the loaf of bread and not the INTRINSIC value.

Got it?
But the baker has to buy all the ingredients for the bread (milk, flour, eggs, etc.), which also were bought at market value. So, which would be the real intrinsic value of that loaf of bread?
1414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 problems with Bitcoin on: January 16, 2014, 01:37:17 AM
i would hoard gold, silver, diamonds, land, instictively even if society placed no value upon these things.  One only hoards bitcoins when society percieves value upon it.
Why would you hoard gold, silver and diamonds if they didn't have value? I wouldn't want stuff just taking up space in my garage.

My $.02.

No one cares about your cents and dollars round here.

You should because crypto has no value unless converted to real-world or "fiat" currency.

My $.02.

Wink

false.

you can buy goods and services directly with crypto, without ever having to involve "fiat". its a currency in of its own.
Yes, but what LostDutchman is saying is that we still convert (in our minds) to USD or EUR to give BTC prices. This is because Bitcoin's value has changed very quickly and we as humans can't cope with such unstability.
1416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Name the 0.0001 BTC unit - Final Poll on: January 12, 2014, 11:49:25 PM
X.0 = bitcoin
0.0X = bitcent
0.000X = millibitcoin

But millibitcoin is 0.00X. You can't just redefine SI prefixes. You can come up with new names, if you want.
1417  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Bitcoin exchange en Mexico on: January 12, 2014, 08:51:10 AM

I want my bitcoin to magically turn into many, many, many green dollars.  Shocked Grin
I thought the whole point of Bitcoin was to get rid of those green dollars.
