14081  Other / Meta / Re: If I find many spammers in a thread should I report each one of them? on: August 13, 2020, 05:00:18 AM
But now I've realized that most repliers in this thread look like spammers as well. They are just replying to bump the thead.
It's not just spam, it's a scam. Similar scams have been doing on for a very long time. There's a topic dedicated to them, but I can't find it back.
I have no doubt the accounts bumping the thread are owned by the same person, and I've seen them start the same thread later on several times already. So today, I started tagging them too. Unfortunately, not all boards show Trust scores, so they're likely to make new victims.

Quote
I was wondering if I should send one report for each one of them or if it's just fine to report the thread.
I think there's not much of a point reporting all of them: when the thread gets trashed, all other reports in the thread are instantly marked as good. Ideally, all spammers in the thread should be Nuked, but I don't expect that to happen this way.

I made a (temporary) link to find all spammers posting trustcoin.exchange: https://loyce.club/other/scam3.html
14082  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: August 13, 2020, 04:12:00 AM
Here's a new one: trustcoin.exchange: https://loyce.club/other/scam3.html. Anyone feel free to report them, I got to go! Update: they're Nuked up to scam post 54985156.

I should setup a more permanent solutionw with keywords for a continuous search.

14084  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: walletgenerator.net, I find no way to verify the download with PGP on: August 12, 2020, 05:06:48 PM
Walletgenerator.net... hmmm is that the one where the website was "sold" and then after it was sold there were numerous claims of scams and "already used" keys being created? Huh Or was it another one?
No, Bitcoin Paper Wallet.com was sold and turned into a scam. Wallet Generator.net shouldn't be trusted either, for reasons mentioned by TryNinja.

The only one then is bitadress.org?
That's the only site I trust, but even then, I only use a version I've downloaded years ago. This way I don't have to trust they don't change something.
Still a warning though: check the URL! A typo could lead you to a phishing site.

Don't use any website to generate your paper wallet.
That works too Smiley

Your only "advantage" literally is that it looks pretty when printed.
I still have an old copy of Bitcoin Paper Wallet (currently a scam site!), and it allows to import a private key. You can even combine a split key vanity address to use 2 different random generators so you don't have to rely on just one of them being honest, then import it, and print it. It creates the same pretty print, without having to trust them. Of course, all this should happen off-line (and it was a big hassle getting my new printer to work without connecting to the internet).

14086  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Topic Details: highlight deleted and edited posts (forum wide) on: August 12, 2020, 10:32:53 AM
Update:
Since February 2020, I'm scraping and archiving all older posts too (this will take a couple more months to complete) Update: this was completed in August 2020.
I now have (almost) all posts archived. However, I still don't highlight deleted posts from my "older" archive. I'll add this after listing all posts per topic (and per member).

I see posts with a suspicious link, are you catching all the posts containing this link in the scam.html?
If that's so, how can i report a scam link? I guess it's manual via PM, right?
It's only a oneliner on the server, I've used it before for other links, and now only added unlimited-hash (for a while).

Yeb he is catching all the posts and threads that posting that Link !
Correct.

Quote
Can you do me a Favor and if that is possible , you can do the same for the bitbucket.org Link ?
Possible that we can catch a few more shady Users with that or some that have psoted that link already.

Does it only catch posts and threads that posting the links or does it also catching the already posted ones too ?
If I'm going to make a "blacklist", I'll need a bit more time. I can check back older posts (everything in my archive), but it's quite time consuming.
I checked back a bit, and created https://loyce.club/other/scam2.html. This too, I'll keep running for a while only (unless I create something more permanent)

Sorry BitcoinGirl.Club for all inconvenience. My goal was not to do any damage.
Can you at least share how you gained access to his email? Make it an educational topic in Beginners & Help. Try to refrain from posting personal information this time, and see if anything good can come out of this by helping others to keep their account safe.

14090  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The fastest way to download blockchain data in csv format on: August 12, 2020, 09:22:09 AM
I want to download all transactions with input and output addresses.
You can use Blockchair Database Dumps to download all transactions, inputs and outputs. There's a catch though: you'll only get 100 kB/s. The last one ("outputs") is 106 GB in size, and I've downloaded it already. I think "inputs" is 3-4 times larger, so around 350 GB. That's going to take 40 days to download at that speed.
I'd love to add this data to my "collection" too, but I don't have the server space for it. Update: See Bitcoin block data (728 GB): inputs, outputs and transactions.

I only tried bitcoin-etl (https://github.com/blockchain-etl/bitcoin-etl) but I calculated that it takes more than one month to download it and save to small csv files (e.g. 50-150 blocks in one).
A fast cloud server might help. Converting small CSV files into larger files shouldn't be much of a problem.

Can you share what you're trying to do with this data?

14091  Economy / Reputation / Re: 35M posts! View unedited/deleted posts (search per post, per user or per topic) on: August 12, 2020, 08:53:33 AM
Update:
I finished scraping all oldposts. The last post archived as "oldpost" is Post 53360099, which was created December 16, 2019 and archived July 9, 2020.
I won't update this archive anymore. I still want to add those posts to my "per topic" and "per member" lists, but I need to find some time for that.
This "oldposts" archive takes 72 GB on the server. My real time posts take 14 GB.
I don't really want to break existing hyperlinks to individual archived posts, but some day I may have to convert them into 100 posts per page too (that reduces disk usage a bit). I currently have over 3 million individual posts stored.

I've fixed this bug:
I found a bug (which I'm posting here as a reminder to myself): Posts on the עברי (Hebrew) board don't show up. Example: this post is missing, while it exists.
I'll see if I can add them later. I think it has something to do with the right-to-left writing, even selecting text on that board doesn't work as expected.
Update: عربية (Arabic) has the same problem.
I'll re-scrape these boards after finishing scraping all posts.

newer versions of Windows (although i don't use them myself) have added the functionality 2 years ago.
Wow! Let me quote microsoft.com:
Quote
For many years, Windows Notepad only supported text documents containing Windows End of Line (EOL) characters
~snip~
Today, we’re excited to announce that we have fixed this issue!
So I was wrong, it didn't take 37 years, but only 35 years. Such progress Cheesy
14093  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The fastest way to download blockchain data in csv format on: August 12, 2020, 03:30:30 AM
It shows up fine in Notepad++... but by displaying the "hidden" whitespace, we can see it only has LF or "Line Feed" characters for "End of Line"... this is a Unix/Linux standard. However, Windows (and notepad.exe) uses "CR LF"... aka "Carriage Return, Line Feed".
I don't use Windows, but I'm amazed after 37 years notepad still can't process Linux new lines. Last time I checked (years ago), Wordpad could handle it.
I could easily convert the files to "Windows new lines", but that would mean adding even more files. id.txt is the only file without actual commas in it.
14094  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: August 11, 2020, 06:51:48 PM
Maybe its worth to watch the posted link .
See https://loyce.club/other/scam.html, I'll keep updating this page for a while.
I search all recent posts for the URL, so  your own post is in the list too.

I didn't (have time to) check if all posts have been deleted.

14098  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: August 11, 2020, 11:43:32 AM
So I can't help but think that if there were no cost to doing it, it might have been implemented before now.
This explains the choice for 8 decimals:
Finney, Satoshi, and I discussed how divisible a Bitcoin ought to be.  Satoshi had already more or less decided on a 50-coin per block payout with halving every so often to add up to a 21M coin supply.  Finney made the point that people should never need any currency division smaller than a US penny, and then somebody (I forget who) consulted some oracle somewhere like maybe Wikipedia and figured out what the entire world's M1 money supply at that time was.

We debated for a while about which measure of money Bitcoin most closely approximated; but M2, M3, and so on are all for debt-based currencies, so I agreed with Finney that M1 was probably the best measure.

21Million, times 10^8 subdivisions, meant that even if the whole word's money supply were replaced by the 21 million bitcoins the smallest unit (we weren't calling them Satoshis yet)  would still be worth a bit less than a penny, so no matter what happened -- even if the entire economy of planet earth were measured in Bitcoin -- it would never inconvenience people by being too large a unit for convenience.
Of course this ignores the possibility of micropayments, which could be in-game, on-demand, or pay-per-second. But even if a service would offer to pay a fraction of a cent, they could use their internal calculation system (kinda like LN is doing). For example: if an in-game sword costs $0.001, you can deposit $0.01 and still have $0.009 left.. And since it's less than a penny, even though you can't withdraw it, you wouldn't care.
I don't think I've ever paid anything less than $0.01 though.

A VoIP provider might be a better example: they often charge fractions of a cent per minute, and just take it off your balance. You can't deposit $0.01, but once it's in your balance, you can pay fractions of a cent.
14099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hello every one i need help with old passphrase on: August 11, 2020, 11:13:14 AM
its like that
Your image isn't working.

so what kind of wallet use 6 word passphrase ?
I can help you better if you answer those questions:
how did you make/get it?
If the words aren't standard words, it might be a brain wallet.

Users are usualy accused of cheating when:
 - multiaccounting
I've always wondered why the casino gets to keep the player's profit and thus make more money for themselves. I'd say this shouldn't earn the casino money, so even if the player can't have it, some charity might be a good option.

Quote
- arbitraging
I'm not familiar with this. Is it related to sport betting?

Quote
- using VPN/proxy to connect from a banned country
Is this really different than physically travelling abroad to gamble online?

Quote
- abusing bonuses
This I can agree with.

Quote
- exploiting vulnerabilities on the website or taking advantage of bugs on the game itself
This I can agree with too. And I don't understand why the casino would say to return the deposited funds in this case.

Quote
- double spending a deposit transaction on casinos accepting zero-confirmation transactions
That's just dumb, wait for at least a confirmation. As far as I know there isn't a single exchange that accepts zero-confirmation transactions, why would a casino be any different?

Quote
There are different ways for users to cheat but the problem and what happens usually is that casinos use the above excuses to ban whover they want without having to provide any evidence.
All the more reason the casino shouldn't profit from banning users.
