This is why I never made any iphone apps.  Switch to android!
The app I'm making wouldn't appeal to android users.

And what vlee said.

Oh does it just take pictures of your food and send it to your friends? Smiley

If I read it right he's not using it for mining anyway.

That's weird that the size is different.  I wasn't suggesting you should do it -- you've definitely done enough!  But if someone needed a replacement that looked like the best and they should go ahead and make the changes to get it working.  There's like 10,000 of them available on digikey between the two packages.

I'm not sure if USB capability is even needed, is the communication slow enough to go through the serial port?  People could add a USB-serial converter if needed.

Change the HD to a WD black and add an SSD.  Take out a couple of the video cards.

Do you have to sell at the end, or can your end balance be in BTC?

If the PIC availability gets bad, it looks like the 18F14K50 is 20 SSOP package,  USB, internal 48MHz oscillator, 2K more program memory, slightly less RAM, same voltage range.  It looks like the power and ICSP pins are in the same place.  Would just need someone to change any pin assignments and compile with the 18 version.

so I guess you have to be online for the software to check it is creating a unique wallet address no one else has then I you just go online periodically just to 'sync' up with the network and see your balance.  Is that correct?

There's no checking that your address is not in use.  You just rely on the fact that there is a huge number of addresses so the potential for overlap is very small.  If you're lucky enough to generate the same address as another person then that's great, because you can steal all their coins.

Rpi is a raspberry pi -- it's a tiny computer that uses only 5 watts to run.

I'll repost this here from the klondike thread, in-case some of you can benefit from it:

For those of you looking to control a bunch of Klondikes, I went ahead and picked one of these up for testing (specifically to see if it would power the Rpi) and its worked beautifully. (8-port USB2.0 Hub - Molex powered) https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/40935-8-port-usb-2-0-panel-hub-with-molex-power-connector?ref=1836

I plan on running 6 chains of 4x klondikes, one port to power the rpi, and one port for the rpi. Being able to power the hub off the PSU just keeps it all in one package.

I am very interested in how this works and the convenience of it. Ill be using 16x klondikes myself and feel it would be very necessary that I should go ahead and get these as well.
I must admit I don't know what Rpi is; googled it and still don't understand the rockwell protocol interface clearly.
How exactly does it work if you don't mind explaining the way you will be doing it in more detail? (i.e. are you saying you will have 6 of these 8-port USB hubs and plug 4x klondikes into each one of these 8-port USB hubs? meaning you have a total of 24 klondikes? I may be way off by further asking why not have all ports used for each 8-port USB hub you have instead of 4of8 occupied for each hub?) Keep in mind I obviously may have no idea what I'm asking, I'm just very curious that you have brought it up and I feel I should need to get these as well.  Grin

Thanks!

Don't buy preorders -- you're just doubling your chance to get scammed.  Either the seller will scam you or the company will never deliver.

Check your remote desktop settings and look for any teamviewer type programs.

Just take $100 and buy 1 bitcoin.  Then you're done!  Don't spend it and put it in a safe wallet.  Don't lend it or give it or use it as payment for anything.

You should at least have windows defender.

You should checkout electrum.  The key concept is that you don't actually ever "receive bitcoins".  The blockchain is a record of which addresses have bitcoins and how much they have.  The bitcoins don't exist, so they don't "go" anywhere.  You can only "spend" bitcoins if you have the private key associated with the address that they're allocated to.

Guess I'll try this out.  I added the inputs.io link to my signature.

We have ordered enough parts for 3,000 units. Once these are gone, there will likely be considerable delays for the next batch to arrive. We are receiving orders from chip purchasers other than our own 6 batches, and will not be holding any components in reserve for those that have purchased chips from us.

Rereading this I'm optimistic that he's just trying to warn us to purchase assembly sooner rather than later, assuming we'll get special treatment.  I'm fine as long as parts are allocated in the order of those who paid for them.
1439  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 84.27Bitcoins, 24 hours unconfirmed! need help. on: July 25, 2013, 05:49:34 PM
So, the client will spend outputs, even if they aren't in any block?

I think they're saying that's the problem.  Part of the OP's transaction has an unconfirmed output as an input.  So he's waiting on that output to be confirmed so that his transaction can be valid to be mined.  The unconfirmed output isn't being confirmed because it's low fee and low priority.  Mike's code change would be for the OP's fee to be used to bump up the priority of the unconfirmed output he's waiting on.
1440  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Much Bitcoins are Entry-level Miners Earning? on: July 25, 2013, 05:44:39 PM
Can someone share some general information on how much bitcoins miners are earning relative to hardware.

Say for example, if someone has an entry-level mining rig with only one RADEON 7950 GPU and leaves the computer on all day, how much bitcoins are they currently earning?

If there is a chart posted somewhere, please share the link or point me in the right direction.  Thanks.

Well, my rig gets 2500 khash for scrypt with 4 7950s and it gets about 0.15 BTC per day mining alts. I'd say thats pretty good.

That seems pretty good -- at https://www.litecoinpool.org/calc?hashrate=2500&difficulty=894.19816801 it says that 2500 kH/s earns 2.8 LTC which is 0.08 BTC ($7.64).  You must be using 1000W, or around $3.50.  So you're doing 4x better than the predicted net of approximately 0.04BTC per day
