PROTIP: OP didn't change it away from scrypt because he doesn't know how.
OP went into #litecoin-dev to try and get someone to compile the client for him.
Only an idiot would bother with this coin "made" by an idiot.
I got stuck with the windows QT wallet. My linux machine isn't strong enough for a virtual machine and I would rather ask for help than sit around. Changing from Scrypt isn't complicated - though I appreciate the insight. I've been working harder to learn more about the code itself and appreciate your feedback. Good luck moving forward.

How much BTC are we talking about?
PM'd.

Bump - thank you for your interest.

Updated the OP with some critical information - I'll be uploading the passworded zip files this afternoon, around 6 hours before launch.
Thanks to everyone for their ideas and support!
Personally, I am glad we are sticking to Scrypt:-) Have you by any chance thought of GREEN as being the shortened version of the name? Or the identifier or whatever they call it, I think it sounds/looks much better than GRE..that is of course if has not been used already. It would be nice, but I believe it to be the "norm" for these identifiers to be three letters, so that's what we are sticking with. Glad to see your support.

Anyone who can make a windows QT for me, please PM me. I am paying BTC for this, upon completion of the wallet.
Thank you.

Quick update (I'll update the OP in a few hours, when I'm not on my phone anymore). An exchange has added us to their voting page, so as long as we are voted for we can be listed by the time the coin launches! Also, I'll be adding TXIDs of all of the paid bounties so far, and adding some important links. If anyone is a pool operator, please contact me! I've already had a few people ask, but getting more is important.

We have decided to implement Scrypt - Regardless of what algorithm we choose, there are going to be supporters and also attackers of our decisions. Our idea : Keep it simple, and let our implementation do the work. And, of course, remain transparent and active.
As for working to get listed: The talks are in the works, and I've also been contacted regarding games, a block explorer, all of the wallets. So, we are essentially setting up for a full launch.
Thanks!

I vote for scrypt
asic scrypt is the most energy efficient mining available.
if you truly are green then straight scrypt is the only way to go...
the guys at Einsteinium can't be wrong.
i sold all my rigs in the past few weeks and only run asic scrypt now - I got tired of the electric bills and wanted more money to gas up up prius (not really - my prius already gets 54 mpg, I just wanted more beer money)
I am definitely taking this to heart. Hopefully you can give us a few MH/s Thanks for the info!

is there a way to find out buddy?
Look at your breaker panel and see what kind type of breakers you're using.

Eligius is just such an awesome pool to use - it's simple, no fee, and has an awesome maker. I don't understand why anyone uses a different pool.

how about x11 and pos if your so concerned about the environment?
From research, you see that roughly 25% of the Carbon in the environment comes from electricity. Arguing that the amount of electricity in mining is what's causing the problem we are trying to fix seems to be a bad stance on our end. What do you think? i think it's completely retarded to use the least efficient algo on a "green" coin and shows how well thought out this scam coin is. We never looked at it in that regard; Not to mention this coin has been a long time coming. We will be adapting to what the community suggests, and would appreciate it if you didn't call us scammers. We are being 100% transparent in all things, and hope you see our side of things. When development of this project began, X11 and X13, etc, weren't used. Thanks so much!

Don't use scrypt anymore.
scrypt? you lived under a rock
hell even x11 is outdated
Looking into this; If there are too many faults in our plan, we can aim the coin in a different direction. how to get the coin?? who can tell me ??
It's as easy as mining any Altcoin - If you aren't a renewable energy producer than the producer side of the coin may not appeal to you (besides the monetary effect on the coin). So we will have pools established for the launch, and you can simply mine GreenCoin.

Will look into this. Thank you for the links. The Idea behind this coin is noble however the complexties of operation of this coin gives me a lot of concern!
Express your concerns? It's a lot easier than it may sound. We want this coin to be released fairly and have a positive impact. Thanks!

The overall goal of greencoin is to do exactly that. Honestly, I think it's smarter to stay Scrypt, since ASICs are beginning to become the more "mainstream approach. As a GPU miner myself, it's hard to accept, but that's just how it is.
Sticking by the original goal of GreenCoin - reduce Carbon!
It's your choice of course. Keep in mind though: there's so many scrypt coins now, so you'll have to work extra hard to make your coin stand out from the 100s of other scrypt coins. I don't mine scrypt anymore either, so I won't mine your coin, but good luck! Thank you - and we will work hard.

So these algorithms are strictly better for GPU miners?
Yes, since there aren't ASICs available for them yet. But also, think of the planet man ! The overall goal of greencoin is to do exactly that. X13 or NIST5 would be much much better than scrypt. I would mine if it was one of those. This is because scrypt gpu mining takes roughly twice as much power to mine as these newer algorithms. They are just as easy to mine with GPU as scrypt, but since there aren't ASICs for these algos yet, the GPU miners can still find good profit with X13 or NIST5.
So these algorithms are strictly better for GPU miners?

I would mine this if it were x11 or x13. Another reason you may want to reconsider the algo is simply the interest you will receive from miners. With summer just around the block, most people would not want to continue mining Scrypt due to power and heat issues. I personally have stopped mining Scrypt completely, even if it is less profitable, just to offset the power consumption and heat generated from GPUs.
Hmmm. This is a good point - something for me to look into. Since we have several days, is there anyone that can give more feedback on this? I've personally only ever GPU mined Scrypt and ASIC mined Bitcoin - X11 and X13 are things we aren't too aware of.

why that huge ammount of coins?
1 satoshi coin spotted...
Probably destined for LTC market... not even in the BTC market. Scrypt ASIC will also totally destroy this coin. ASICs will also destroy Bitcoin. The end is near! But really, I don't understand the logic, since the coin has two valuations - It isn't based strictly on mining, due to the producer side. Can you go into more detail? Appreciate it.
